Very friendly people, food was great, room was spotless, lovely view across the lake.
The sensor in the bathroom turns the light off if there’s no one moving around in the room after about a minute which means it’s difficult to have the light on if you’re having a bath!
Stunning scenery
Nothing it’s beautiful
Loved the location. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely staying here again.
Tern Lodge was stunning, lots of space, very comfortable and well equipped with a lovely view. Staff were very welcoming and the food in the restaurant was good.
It was all good.
Nice location professional staff

The lodge was set in the grounds of a hotel. We were able to walk to the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast, coffee and evening meals which were reasonably priced and delicious. There was a good choice of meals and an option to choose a slightly smaller meal if you preferred which was charged at a lower rate, more room for pudding! The lodge overlooked Ormesbury Broad (I think) and it was very peaceful. It was amusing to see the ducks waddling to our front door in the mornings hoping for a snack! Plenty of car parking available too and very friendly, caring and amenable staff.
We liked everything. The quilt was too thick for me for the time of year but it was readily exchanged for a more suitable one otherwise I couldn’t find fault.
Staff, food, room, facilities all excellent. Location superb
The setting was amazing, very picturesque, the meals in the evening and breakfast were excellent, the staff were friendly and very helpful.
The welcome , the setting everything was brilliant
Lovely place to stay, we found it very comfortable and the views were fantastic.
We didn't find anything bad, all things were postive.
The food was 🤩

Beautiful room and location so peaceful
I loved the property location it was beautiful. The lady Kim I think her name was, explained everything perfectly and showed us through to our room. Room was very clean and good working shower. The bunk beds had a door so it felt like a separate room which was good and clever design so you could fit more than 2 kids in there.
Unfortunately I was kept awake all night and had minimal sleep. There was a mechanical groaning or mooing noise which went off every few minutes all through the night. I chose this location for its peacefulness. I had finally managed to get to sleep when the fire alarm went off at about 7.30. The gentleman on reception when we checked out was genuinely apologetic. He said he would sleep in the room to see what the groaning noise was. We did not use the air con and we had no adjoining room so he was baffled. That is good for future guests but did not help me. We did not use the restaurant as we were visiting relatives. So sadly we didn’t use any other facilities. It was just a bed we needed and it was a lot of money for no sleep for me. My mother slept fine as she is a bit deaf. All and all a very expensive and tiring visit. I think I would have been less tired if I had driven home. ☹️
The setting was amazing, the staff could not have been more accommodating so helpful, the food was amazing, and even when General public were being turned away for food, they always managed to fit us in. The owner mike was the best host such a pleasant Manor, we stayed for only 3 nights, will be making a longer visit next time can't wait to return.
I really can't say that there was anything we did not like. It was all good.
Location was fantastic. Very clean. Beds were comfortable.
The shower room needs fixing. The floor is awful. No screen going across so the water from the shower goes everywhere. It smells damp too. We had to keep the door closed.
Excellent. Beautiful room and restaurant exceptionally clean. Staff professional, friendly, attentive and could not do enough for us. Decor lovely and food excellent.
Nothing!
Great location nice outlook from our bedroom
Disappointed with the breakfast it was served with a slice of toast on the main plate no side plate or toast rack, you have to help yourself to tea and coffee,I expected it to be a lot better for the price they charged
Superb location and lodge was excellent.
Lodge was excellent apart from the single bathroom sink being permanently blocked. Repair attempted but part needed so blocked for all of our stay. Also we had a birthday celebration meal that was spoiled by the pork dish being so tough we couldn’t cut it. Another dish produced and the pork was knocked of our bill but there was Twenty minutes wait for the replacement.
Perfect couple of days, would recommend
Restaurant was a bit noisy and hot
The Boathouse was in a lovely location, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our evening meal.
All good
Lovely room, with a very comfy bed. Nice large bathroom. The air conditioning was a real bonus. Staff very attentive and helpful.
Staff were welcoming, location beautiful. Bedroom comfortable and clean. Food was good. Plenty of parking. 3 events on in 2 days and this did not disrupt the running of the place. I would stay here again.
Some fenale staff members spent time gossiping and missed logging food orders. Some people did not eat because the kitchens were closing down when their error was discovered. Floors needed cleaning more thoroughly and smell of sick in the ladies toilets needed addressing.
Been here before, 6 years ago, so knew what to expect and was not disappointing. Great rooms, nice view and menu in restaurant offered excellent choice. Location is great for the East Coast.
Nothing worth a mention. Only possible criticism was the WiFi code was not in the room! Apart from that, excellent.
This is a very special place, situated on the banks of one of the Broads, ducks and geese roaming the grounds and kingfishers darting across the water. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, some with views over the water. It is so quiet and peaceful, I challenge anyone to feel stressed! The staff are incredible. They worked so hard to make us feel relaxed and at home. Another highlight of this amazing place is the food. I had the best continental breakfast I have ever had, and my husband's choice of full English was also delicious. The evening meals were wonderful and plentiful, served by fabulous waiting staff, who go above and beyond to make your meal special. We will definitely return!
Nothing! It was perfect!
Lovely views, very clean and the room was everything we needed. The food was amazing !!!
The evening meal was amazing ,but we booked our table with the manger for 7.15 as she said it was a good ti.me to come .we did not get our main courses until 9 a very long wait it was worth it !!! The breakfast was very good to.
What a find from location to views food service and rooms all excellent . We became very relaxed from stepping through the doors . Highly recommend for a stay . Would like to mention Mike the owner as being a genuinely nice man nothing too much trouble . Regards the breakfast choice I have never seen just a good choice of cooked to order before you could stay a week and try something different every day my continental breakfast was first class
Beautiful location excellent service and fab food
Fantastic staff, very welcoming and professional. Loved the quality of breakfast, Great location, Beautiful views, comfortable room.
Nothing not to like!
Great location. Bit run down in the grounds. Rooms were clean.
Restaurant staff polite but there seemed to be no communication between them. We waited over an hour and 20 minutes for main course. Food was very basic and did not seem home made. We ended up with the manager telling us that there was no charge for the food as we waited so long
Breakfast was fab staff very attentive and helpful
Too many ducks in beer garden whereby lots of bird poo
Location on broads beautiful. Lodge spacious bar and restaurant very nice and staff were too
All good
Nosey extractor fan from kitchen heard at apartments
The view is excellent
In the dining area needs cleaning it was cobwebs above the windows
Lovely location, beautiful views over the broads

Amazing location and lovely interior design. Very friendly staff. Especially the team on Reception and the waitresses.
We stayed in one of the lodges which was well-equipped and cosy. Comfortable beds. Great views over the hotel garden and the water beyond. Lovely and quiet. We enjoyed watching the ducks, geese, and rabbits outside the balcony. Great food in the restaurant, and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. We will be back!
The team were so attentive and made our stay very comfortable - the restaurant team were excellent.
Frustratingly, Room 5 for door handle is difficult to open and close - we previously stayed here 2 years ago and had the same issue.
Beautiful location. Friendly Staff. Excellent food.
My room was in a position at the top of the stairs and you could hear every single sound from the landing and surrounding rooms. Not a massive problem for me as the other guests weren’t late night revellers.
Lovely property excellent area
Relaxing
Quiet, pretty location, friendly staff, excellent food
Nothing!
The Boathouse is an amazing place and extremely well run. The staff are amazingly helpful and even stored our 4 bikes in a lock up. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds. The bathrooms have a big bath and are also very spacious. There were 4 of us in 2 rooms are we all found everything was brilliant. Great evening meal, good price and plenty of variety. Quick service. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice, freshly cooked. Facing a beautiful broad the Boathouse is a real treasure.
Beds could have been bigger
Probably our most favourite place on the broads. From the staff to the wonderful setting . It's a total must for a short break
Nothing
Wonderful location Food great. Rooms very clean with well fitted out bathrooms and very comfortable beds.
Would be nice to have a smart TV Would be nice to have fresh tea and coffee for breakfast
Very good
We loved the location, very serene with the view of the broads and the company of the geese "greylags" on the grounds. We had dinner there and found it was copious and tasty. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Even though it is set in acres of land, there is no place to walk other than the car park area. The other side seems to be reserved for functions and weddings.
Lovely scenic location, view of the lake from our room. Air-con was great. Food was delicious. Staff were super friendly, ales were great. Slept well
Goose and duck poop everywhere outside sadly. Some strange noises coming from the pipes in the bathroom. Slamming doors from rooms below us in the morning.
Staff were very accommodating, friendly and very welcoming on arrival and departure. Had excellent service through the meal and from bar staff and Ron reception. They couldn’t do enough for you. The room was really lovely and was decorated to a high standard with beautiful Victorian / gothic style furniture that fitted in with the contemporary style
It would have been nice to have been able to walk about round the lake and as it was in the middle of nowhere there could’ve had a little bit more to do such as having a pool table and the sound on the TV when England was playing. It would’ve encouraged us to spend more time and more money in the bar. We ended up going to bed early. But there is plenty to do in the daytime and we had a lovely boat trip nearby in Rollesby.
The location was beautiful, we loved the beer garden by the water. Our room was so comfortable and clean. We had dinner and breakfast and it was delicious, I was very happy with the amount of vegan options. The little duck that joined us at breakfast was an added bonus, so cute ❤️ would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Lovely location. Comfy bed. Large well equipped bathroom. Friendly staff.
No fresh tea at breakfast.
The view, the staff, the clean room and comfortable bed. The food in the restaurant was great.
Too many geese and ducks, we had to slalom through their "poops"...
Lovely location friendly staff nice breakfast Staff allowed a later check in and early breakfast for my trip Thankyou

Great location, excellent accommodation and very good food
Lovely setting and food and staff were excellent
This was our third stay. We love the setting and the lodges. My children love the ducks and the park.
If I was being picky, the lodge we stayed in didn't have enough of each item of crockery for our party. We made do but 6 of each would be great!
Lovely helpful staff. Great food in the restaurant. Excellent parking.
Unfortunately I had not realised the room I had booked had steep stairs between bedroom and bathroom. It was a beautiful room but not practical for us. Staff kindly moved us to a lodge. This felt damp and neglected to us and lacked the charm of the room booked. Nobody’s fault but it would be nice to know when booking that bathrooms are not on the same level as bedrooms.
Location was beautiful and the staff were great the room was superb comfy bed huge bathroom
Everything. Mike the host couldn't do enough for us/ everyone. The views second to none. The lodges have got everything you need. Very clean and so relaxing. Food excellent. Alot of wildlife around. We will definitely be back.
Nothing.
Lovely location with beautiful views of the broads. The owner and staff couldn’t do enough for us and were very friendly . The food was excellent and freshly cooked. We will definitely be returning x
There was nothing that we didn’t like.
We had a wonderful stay at The Boathouse. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout, and the setting is absolutely beautiful with stunning scenery around the broad. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which was one of the highlights of our visit. Everything felt great value for money, and the friendly ducks wandering around added so much charm to the whole experience. We would happily return and highly recommend it!
Due to its remote location you will need a car to reach most places, but that was fully expected and well worth it for the excellent value for money. However, Great Yarmouth was only a 20 minute drive away, and we watched an excellent circus performance at the Hippodrome which was a real highlight of the trip.
Very clean , very comfortable , spacious , good showers, good location .
From checking in to checking out was outstanding. Room was simple but what more do you need.
Leaving!
Beautiful surroundings and a stunning , well equipped room

We were so happy with our stay and wish we could have stayed longer.

room spotless ... beautiful view from room window and the best breakfast lve had at a hotel 😊

The location is beautiful, and the lodge was well equipped, clean, and very comfortable. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had dinner in the pub restaurant one evening and it was really tasty with great service. Breakfast was also excellent—a lovely fry-up, and our son especially enjoyed the pancakes.
It would be nice if the lodge had a daily tidy-up service, even just making the beds and doing a quick refresh during the stay. We stayed during a very unusual hot spell at the end of May, so appreciate the temperatures were higher than normal, but air conditioning in the lodge would have made a big difference. There were fans provided, which was appreciated, but they were mostly just moving the hot air around rather than cooling the space. There were lots of ducks around, which was lovely, and our son absolutely loved that they came to say hello at our lodge door in the morning. The only downside was that there was duck poo across quite a lot of the outside areas, which wasn’t very pleasant. We appreciate that with so many ducks it’s probably a constant job, but more regular cleaning of those areas would make a difference.
Booked last minute night away. Didnt look that closely tbh but a quick glance suggested it looked nice. Then when we arrived after a hot car journey we were delighted. We had a 2 room duplex suite when I'd only been expecting a room. The setting, lake and nature surrounding the Boathouse is incredibly peaceful. The food in the restaurant was A1. And the staff, Mike was our main contact, were delightfully friendly and helpful. They know how to make you feel like a VIP. Highly recommend.
Can't think of anything. It was all so lovely.
Absolutely wonderful place Everything about the stay was perfect
Lovely location, lodge was perfect size and had everything we needed, host was very helpful Food at the pub was very good and massive selection
Gorgeous location right on The Broads. Lovely lodges - very comfortable

A great place to stay Excellent food and very friendly staff
Fabulous 2 night stay in Bittern Lodge with family ( 4Adults & 2Children ) Fully equipped for self catering Bar & Restaurant lovely ambience Evening meal ,choice ,presentation & portion of food generous & tasty Staff very friendly & attentive. Great location for coastal visit & local attractions

The location is excellent Food and drink first class
For us - the stairs were steep and awkward with baggage and a walk-in shower would have been preferable. But that is just for our ages
Not applicable re breakfast but great location
Can't think of anything
everything - the magical location, the clean and large lodge, the tasty food and the adorable staff. ideal for unwind and spend a couple of days with family.
The Boathouse was amazing, location stunning - the tranquility of the place with the wildlife all around was beautiful. Food was of a very high standard and the staff very welcoming. We had a double room with en suite which was lovely.
The staff are always very helpful and friendly
The food and drink were very good. The staff were very kind and helpful. I loved the view of the broads and the wild fowl out side. The bathroom was really good the bath was great, so big.
It is a pity the food and drink was so expensive. I could not understand why there were no ashtrays or litter bins outside where people sit at the tables. I think it could do with a few seats outside by the carpark.
Beautiful location, very friendly staff, large rooms, nice big bath, delicious breakfast
Only thing missing for us was a fridge in the room
Didn't stay for breakfast
Fantastic place nothing not to like
Lovely location and and nice lodge with excellent space, lovely rooms and 2 bathrooms. One set of bunk beds in the kids room was double width which was a bonus. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had a meal at the Boathouse restaurant on one of the evenings. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectations.
There were a few cobwebs in the ceiling, which the cleaners must have missed. A dishwasher in the kitchen would have been handy.
We eat there whenever we are in the area to see parents. The restaurant is lovely, the staff are attentive and the food and view wonderful. We booked the room on the basis of the above. We were not disappointed. Our room was lovely with the nicest view of the lake (and the goslings). Great stay and will definitely be back to eat and stay. The people that run this place cannot do enough for you and the breakfast was also lovely😁
All good
The setting was beautiful.Staff very friendly and helpful.Room was quirky and clean. Food was lovely.

Great location, lovely staff nice food and comfy beds. Not far from anything. Lovely setting overlooking the broads.
This was our second stay at The Boathouse. The staff are great and always willing to help. The accommodation is cosy and has lovely views over the Broads. I'm sure we will be back!

As soon as you drive up the relaxing feeling kicks in. The staff we're friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Made you feel so comfortable. Definitely going back. We left our jacket there and received a phone call to say that we left it there. The Gentlemen called said we can either turn round or they will send it back free of charge. Now that said it all about the people there. Definitely going back 👍 for sure. Sit back and enjoy your time and the views.
Nothing not to like
The location was superb and very scenic. The kitchen was well equipped and the appliances were modern. The lodge was very spacious.
A washing machine would have been useful, particularly for a longer stay. A small information pack in the lodge.
Friendly staff great out look peaceful clean and amazing food
Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Every single member of staff was courteous, helpful and friendly. They were all very well trained. Everything immaculate. No scuffed paint on the walls or stains on the carpet. Room cleaning good. Bed comfortable. Plenty of strong, hot water. Lovely tranquil setting. Lots of parking. Well located.
The air conditioner kept switching off, and we fried on our first night. Mentioned it to Becky at breakfast and she immediately dealt with the matter. Aircon had been set at 35deg! Improved after attention, but still kept switching off. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge for tea/coffee on our return at the end of the day. It would have been nice had this been served with a biscuit - but that's being picky. There were biscuits in the room. Didn't visit Scratby Beach because we didn't see a mention of it anywhere.
Fantastic friendly service from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Despite being a very busy day in the restaurant, we couldn't have asked for more with helpful and fast service. Our room was a good size and clean, and food was good with a solid choice, would recommend
Nothing
Beautiful location, excellent varied menu, the room and en suite were exceptional. Friendly staff.

The pancakes (although a meagre offering of accompanying fruit).
Breakfast could/should have included toast and cereals in addition to a cooked breakfast as a minimum. Porridge would have been good
