awesome place!
The staff could work slightly more on their smile. :)
Dinner was excellent & choices good. Breakfast was also perfect - lots of options to choose from (table service) - good quality food also The bar / restaurant team were all very friendly & helpful. There is no lift at this property due to the age of the building but staff were very helpful with porterage service. Room was characterful + low beams + it had an excellent fan to keep the room cool. Car parking available at the rear of the property

Good location. Nice staff
Just had to wait a little bit long for our breakfast and needed to ask for a few things but no problem
Great family room, spacious and clean. Staff very friendly and great service from start to finish. Parking space for room so no hassle finding parking. Breakfast was excellent and the team were superb chatting with the kids.
Had asked for an additional bed for the kids on original booking but not in room or mentioned. We managed without and didnt make a fuss of it but would check direct with hotel ahead of time for own peace of mind.
The staff were really friendly and helpful . The room was lovely and we appreciated the drink Selection in the room which included coffee bags , Variety of teas , Hot chocolate, Biscuits. Still and sparkling water . Having a hair dryer was useful too and there was even an iron and ironing board if you wanted it . The room was particularly beautiful we felt as it had the bathroom upstairs and then you went down some stairs into the bedroom which gives it a much larger feeling. The Breakfast was just amazing. You could have anything of the menu which was extensive , food was served hot or cold depending on what you chose and was delicious . We would definitely stay there again .
The key to the door was a Yale key which I could manage but my sister who has Arthritis struggled to use . We should have mentioned this to the
Friendlies cleanliness food replenished tea tray
Always have a lovely stay here
We stayed for 1 night. Pre-arrival communication from The Richard Onslow was good. We had a great room for 2 adults and 1 child/teen. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay with them. Especially Sophie. Breakfast was a great start to the day. We are staying again in a month’s time and already looking forward to returning. Great location right on the High Street in the village 👍😃
We can’t think of anything!
The hotel was comfortable and clean the staff were lovely. I loved the fact that it has character.
There was nothing I didn't like just for information the carpark is quite small.
Room was nice bed very comfortable, added bonus of courtyard with seatinh
My only thing was shower could of done with a slip mat
It was very clean, big comfortable bed. Friendly staff

Location was perfect for a local wedding we attended, reason why property was chosen. Great breakfast.
Heat control in the bedroom was unmanageable. A fan circling hot air around the room was useless. When asked to move too it was mentioned the building was old and no cooler rooms to move to.
Lively, friendly and welcoming pub and village. The staff were fantastic and the food and coffee were good.
The room was very basic and a bit of TLC needed. I would not class as a superior double. Tried to contact owner on booking.com but no response or acknowledgement bar the automated email after first night how was your stay.
Every time I need to stay in Cranleigh I don't hesitate to stay at the Richard Onslow. A central location comfortable rooms and excellent breakfast.
Sehr gute Erreichbarkeit mit Parkplatz. Tolles Zimmer/Bad mit historischem Ambiente, leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen - jederzeit gerne wieder!
Breakfast was excellent and a great choice. View from room was of the high street but it was not noisy. Excellent facilities in bedroom and there was even fan in the room which was excellent as the weather was very hot.
Nothing it was perfect.
Friendly staff. Good location Lovely decor
Stairs uneven causing issues with my mobility Slow service and slight lack of attention to detail with breakfast. Ours were overdone. I am sure this is a one off given the excellent reputation.
Excellent location, parking onsite, rooms were spacious and comfortable. The staff were incredible, big shout out to Sophie who went above and beyond to make our stay great.
Excellent location in the centre of Cranleigh
The room was on two levels.. not easily accessible for older patrons, especially when one has to get up in the middle of the night.. up the stairs and round the corner to get to the bathroom. The breakfast was not as good as expected. There were egg shells in my egg and the bacon was rock hard. We have eaten dinner there many times so were rather disappointed
The bedroom was lovely and clean, the roll top bath was a lovely addition. The food at the Richard Onslow was great too.
Can’t fault it
Convenient
Pillows and mattress were a bit tired
Great atmosphere, really helpful and professional staff who go the extra mile
Snídaně , milý personál , hezké vybavení
Great staff, comfortable beds, clean and tidy
Very friendly staff. We had a room on the top floor and though it faced the street it was quiet.
Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast
Great open room with plenty of light & loved the room's were around the back with parking for our stay away from the main road.I only drink peppermint T & they had fresh peppermint & added bonus 😁.Everything in the room that you would need for your stay.We had an evening meal & breakfast which were both outstanding really tasty 😋

Room was comfortable. Bed was ok. Bathroom was good with walk-in shower. Restaurant was good size and pleasant.
Food was ok but average. The fish dish was poor. Service was slow. All tables rocked due to floor or tables being not level. One night was difficult to park in the pub car park.
Very kind and helpfull staff! Great food, nice atmosphere. Lovely room with big bathroom On site parking
It was close to the restaurant we were coming to eat at. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
Sourdough toast with the breakfast. It was very hard and everyone in the family was disappointed as all the rest of the food was good.
Lovely friendly staff.Comfy room and large selection for breakfast not just full English
No view from our room but it didn’t matter
Extremely helpful and cheerful staff
On high street
Noise from bar area heard in room
Lovely room and comfy bed, albeit a standard double so smaller than most hotels. Staff were welcoming and flexible with arrangements. Good location for all we wanted to do.
For a mid-February stay, £138 for room only (not B&B) is a little on the expensive side. No hot water in the morning for a shower, albeit it did come back on later
Central location. Comfortable bed and good size room. Very friendly staff.
Tricky to access car park with very limited spaces.
Lovely village
Nice charm, staff were super friendly and the breakfast was good.
The bathroom was a little tired and could have been cleaner.
The staff were amazing, the food was fantastic. We had an amazing stay
Nothing
Smarties with tea at breakfast was a cute touch
Evening meals only served util 6pm on a Sunday!
Everything
Friendly staff, very helpful. The room was great and the dog bed and treats for our old labrador were a nice touch. Would highly recommend and we will definitely stay there again
Le petit-déjeuner est très bon
L'isolation phonique entre les chambres
Lovely atmosphere, beautifully kept, fantastic staff - they gave the impression of being a real team, from the moment we were shown to our room, to the lovely female server at breakfast just before we left, after two nights. Utterly spotless, clever design touches (plant-filled containers on our windowsills, enhancing our view onto Cranleigh’s pretty high street, decent toiletries, good coffee bags, great Espresso Martini! Pretty handwritten welcome card in the room, loval magazines, good room menus.
Can’t think of anything in particular. Perhaps a coffee table/extra table in Room 5, in front of the sofa, would be useful, and a couple more coathangers (there were two, but it wasn’t a big deal).
A great room and staff, will definitely be staying there again.
Great room and facilities.
The building is stunning, staff really professional and welcoming, decorated to a high standard and immaculate.
Let down sadly by the breakfast, the quality looked great, it was the long wait, after 50 mins still waiting we gave up and cancelled, put a really downer on our stay, up to that point we was saying how lovely it was. To make things worse the waitress wouldn't listen to us when we said we couldn't wait any longer as we had an appointment and multiple times asked us to wait as it wouldn't be much longer... After 50 mins it wouldn't have mattered if it came in the next 5 mins, we would have been late for our appointment... Listening is important when it comes to customer service, by not doing so further upset us.
Centrally located, clean, friendly and helpful staff
As expected it was a central location, which was what we wanted.
Whilst we used the bar for meeting with friends & family, the music volume was intolerable & unnecessary in such a busy pub, where people meet to chat. Having to shout to be heard & listened to is not good.
The staff are all fantastic 👏 The bathroom had mould in the shower and needs some tlc Mattress is too firm for me Great location
Not a lot
One room really smelt. One room only smelt a bit. Very port for £100 a room per night.
Separate drinking and dining areas, both very impressive.
All good.
Excellent hotel with a very well fitted room, although there were a few steps and low doorways to room 1 which might prove a challenge for people with mobility problems. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the bar was very good. Breakfast was excellent. An old building with lots of charecter.
No problems
Very comfortable room
Wi-Fi bit fiddly
Room clean and accessible
Being kept awake by cleaning staff clearing up after midnight when we had a early flight the next morning
Breakfast good , service excellent
Room Was a bit warm
Impressive variety on breakfast menu and perfect quality when served. Rooms very comfortable. Linen & towels immaculate. Staff mostly young , all charming and very attentive. A pleasure to encounter them.
There was nothing not to like.
Room was very comfortable. Staff were friendly. Bar was well-stocked and cosy.
Staff were very helpful.
No hot water in the room. Even after leaving the water running for several minutes.
Perfect location
Nothing
Our room was very spacious and cosy, and we loved the complimentary tea and coffee which was perfect for the mornings! The bed was comfortable and we slept really well, which was helped by how quiet the high street is at night. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating, as well as the pub downstairs serving lovely food and drinks.
The only downside was the shower in our en suite kept going either boiling hot, or freezing cold. But this didn't affect our stay at all as we just had quick showers in the mornings.
A cute pub with nice comfortable rooms.
All nice! Cranleigh itself is very small and quickly discovered. We stayed here to see friends who live close.
Comfortable room, everything we needed in it.
The mirror in the bathroom could have been better and a choice of pillows.
Location was good. I've stayed several times before, and will stay again. Staff always friendly and helpful.
Breakfast starts from 8.00. As I need to be my appointment at 9.00, I never have time for breakfast.

Location
9.4/10Excellent central High Street location cited frequently; convenient for events and local amenities, on-site parking noted.

Amenities
8.7/10Good breakfast offering, courtyard seating and some in-room features (fan); on-site parking is useful though car park is described as small and cooling/ventilation inconsistent.
Value for Money
7/10Mixed sentiment: several guests felt price was high for the sleep experience (heat, tired mattress), though breakfast and location partly justify the cost.
