The lounge area that is shown on photos is not there so only a small area to sit before dinner The worst thing was that every day the kitchen was missing something so on a quite basic menu there was no haggis for breakfast, no steak for dinner and no peppercorn sauce another day. These are all staples to a Scottish hotel and should not be missing !! We then went to the sister hotel Marine hotel Brora and they have virtually an identical menu !!

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The bedroom was cosy large and light with a bath with a view. Big bed with lovely linen. Dinner and breakfast was very nice.

It was our 40th Anniversary and the hotel went the extra step to make it special! The room was perfect; roomy, romantic, cozy and very well appointed. They reserved a lovely window table for our dinner and brought us a special celebratory dessert. The hike in the morning to Castle Varrich was a delight. We couldn't have asked for more!

The staff interactions were great overall. That was the best part. The room was clean overall, with a complimentary small bottle of sherry. It had comfortable bedding and pillows. The heater in the room was effective.

Food was disappointing overall. For dinner, we ordered Thai monkfish curry and chicken skewers. The fish did not taste like Thai curry at all and the skewers seemed more like smoked chicken in a wrap with some veggies. Value for money spent on it felt like a disappointment and feedback was shared nicely, and acknowledged. Breakfast was okay. Also, there are no elevators or easy ways to take heavy luggage up the stairs (if your room is on the second or third floor). The room (including bathroom) on the top floor had a slanted roof, which makes it difficult for taller people. The shower cubicle felt small.

Value for money was questionable as I booked early and a high price, checked on the day and price had dropped by over £100 (and more luxurious rooms where available for less than I paid for). Highlighted it was a very special birthday but no offer of upgrade.

Quasiment le seul hotel à des km à la ronde. Mais très bien, avec un restaurant au top. Le style date un peu mais franchement, c'est propre, agréable, spacieux et calme. Rien à dire.

Great location on the NC500 route with beautiful views. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was large and well equipment including a bath. Breakfast had a good range of options both hot and cold. The staff were very helpful and friendly and there was plenty of parking.

The hotel was expensive compared to others. The room only lacked reading lights and was otherwise very comfortable. The restaurant was the only choice in the area and the food was ok but not amazing.

Nuestras habitaciones daban a la parte trasera con pocas vistas y en el baño faltaban repisas para colocar los productos. El lavabo demasiado pequeño para el tamaño del baño y para tener el precio que tiene la habitación.

So langsam in die Jahre gekommen. Fehlen einer vernünftigen Rezeption. (diese befindet sich unmittelbar hinter der Eingangstür des Hotels)

The dinner was good but sadly there was only one portion of the fish we had chosen. For breakfast, there was no salmon at all which was disappointing.

The staff were amazing, we ate at the diner and the food was quality and tasty The room was big, the views were spectacular and we slept well for the night.

The shower pressure was alittle weak and it didnt cleanse the body good enough.

Die Frühstückskarte ist gut, aber etwas unübersichtlich. Die Zimmer sind direkt an das Restaurant angeschlossen. Die vielen Teppiche sind etwas schwierig für Stauballergiker. Die Zimmerpreise sind etwas teuer für die Ausstattung.

Very welcoming and hospitable staff. We got a nice and airy room. The breakfast was varied and good. Peaceful place.

The water pressure in the shower was low. Maybe it was because we had a room on the top floor.

Everything was fantastic especially the serving staff in the restaurant. Food was 10/10 with all the dishses. Cheers to the lady who was extremely friendly and helped us at the dinner plus got us milk in a thermos for our little one :)

Absolutely exceptional. The photos don’t do it justice. The staff were incredibly nice and forthcoming, the rooms were really lovely and cozy with modern bathrooms. There were lots of extras and nice touches. The restaurant food was really good. Location ace, with incredible views.

Perfect location and setup

One threatening email that was submitted just before we arrived: check out time is 10am if you are later than this you will be charged for a late stay. Is that really necessary? Just put a downer on an otherwise positive experience. Just spoilt it really, the threat hanging over you. Need to remove this from your approach, doesn’t matter how many nice toiletries and touches you put into your exceptional location if the only communication with your guests is to threaten them.

We loved this hotel on our journey exploring the northern highlands of Scotland. The hotel is lovely and our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was truly exceptional - helpful and kind. We had a wonderful dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.

Very nice apartment, nice bathroom, I only miss separate shower. Everything was in traditional style but new. The size of bad was more than enough and bigger than in other hotels

It is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous spot. If driving the NC 500 this is the place to stay along the northern coast.

No place to hang a toiletries bag in the bathroom is really my only complaint.
