Borgo Cadonega

This is a very special place, with an amazing location. The hotel is a completely renovated ruin, in a small and amazing town. We had a big room on the 3 rd floor. Bed was comfy. Surroundings fabulous.

Sadly, my husband took a terrible tumble on the reception deck. It happened while the host was explaining how to enter with luggage down below, my husband didn’t see or know there was a step. He ended up falling over the railing and on his back on cement steps. It was really scary for my husband and me. The hotel really did not do anything to assist or inquire if he was ok. This shocked me, and I’m not sure if this is an Italian thing, or lack of empathy on the host. He sustained some minor injuries but wow, no follow up call- it could have been really serious and nothing from management. I’ll pass on this location in the future.

I liked everything but just to point out, the room didn't have air conditioning, but it had a portable evaporative cooler that worked well, although I think air conditioning would be good in the summer.

Nous avons apprécié la disponibilité et l’amabilité du personnel toujours avec beaucoup de bienveillance à notre égard. Tout était parfait y compris le SPA nous en avons profité et le personnel a été au petit soin pour nous c’était formidable. C’est un lieu magique et tellement reposant … c’est exactement ce que nous recherchions. La bâtisse est juste magnifique avec son parc et sa piscine MERCI BEAUCOUP pour cette belle découverte … nous reviendrons… Marie et Patrick

La location è molto bella e confortevole

sono rimasta delusa che il martedi ristorante e spa erano chiuse , unico motivo che avevo scelto la struttura era per questo motivo

La struttura si trova in piccolo parco con piscina, curata e silenziosa. Siamo stati accolti con ospitalità e gentilezza. Ci è stata mostrata la camera trovata pulita ed ordinata. La spa merita una visita. Colazione adeguata, sia dolce che salata sia con prodotti sia freschi che confezionati (in caso di esigenze speciali celiachia etc..)

Non è una nota negativa, ma solo un suggerimento (che non ha influito sul giudizio finale). Ci è stata offerta una bottiglia di benvenuto trovata in fresco nel frigo, ma probabilmente non conservata bene e non è stato possibile berla.

Frühstück hervorragend

Colazione con buone torte artigianali e possibilità di fare estratti di frutta freschi. Struttura ben curata, con possibilità di accedere alla SPA e ristorazione. Abbiamo pranzato e cenato e la cucina è veramente ottima e legata al territorio. Consigliato per chi vuole una pausa relax e vuole visitare Reggio Emilia (30 min) e Scandiano (20 min), entrambe molto piacevoli. Reggio Emilia offre musei civici molto belli e ospita il Museo del Tricolore. Clima piacevole anche d'estate, perché il Borgo è in alto sopra la Padana.

Le calme et l’emplacement dans la verdure , la beauté de la région . La chambre , grande , aux pierres apparentes, la douche spa absolument stylée !

C'est un hôtel absolument magnifique ! Les chambres sont spacieuses, bien aménagées, propres et vraiment belles. Murs de pierre, sols en tomettes, vitraux dans la salle de bain, peignoirs confortables et bien sûr, une belle piscine.

Posto incantevole per un Weekend di evasione dalla città. Tutto perfetto dal ristorante alla piscina. Camere davvero belle!

Qualche zanzara in piscina

Lovely, quiet, wonderful garden full of fruit trees & flowers. The rooms are well fitted out & comfortable. Very quiet. Restaurant is lovely.

What surprised me is that the garden wasn’t used for eating. There is such an amazing quiet garden- I would have loved to sit outside & enjoy dinner or breakfast.

Poca flessibilità sugli orari check in e check out .. spumante di benvenuto imbevibile e completamente svanito nonostante in mini bottiglia chiusa ( probabilmente scaduto ) .. colazione con brioches, torte e frutta esposte senza copertura e prese di mira da molteplici mosche così come sui tavoli :(

L'hôtel est très joli. Il est situé à l'écart de la Motor Valley dans une région vallonnée. La chambre était très jolie avec un lit original. La piscine est très belle.

Les moustiques ! Pensez à votre spray 😊

Fantastische (rustige) plek met mooie kamers. Het zwembad en de ruime tuin is ook heerlijk.

Beautiful, characterful hotel building, set in lovely gardens with a nice little swimming pool. Friendly and helpful staff, very good food, all very reasonably priced. Surrounding countryside is also beautiful.

Restaurant is closed Tuesdays, options within walking distance are pretty limited.

We liked everything, the room, the food, the location just a beautiful retreat

Wij hadden de superiorroom en die was fantastisch.

De airco die niet als een goede airco werkte, waardoor het te warm was op de kamer.

Absolut ein Traum. Alles hat hervorragend gepasst. 10 Sterne sind gar nicht genug dafür. Die Skala müsste au 15 hoch geschraubt werden. Anlage, Zimmer, Essen, Service perfekt Personal zuvorkommend, freundlich und sehr sympathisch. Macht weiter so! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

The building and outside spaces are beautiful and so were the rooms. We loved the big bathroom and very comfortable shower. Also the restaurant was great with very good food!

The breakfast was quite limited for the price, and we would have loved an AC in the room for this price as well.

Very calm, relaxing. The staff is exceptionally nice!

The breakfast menu could be a little bigger or maybe even paid dishes like english breakfast with sausages or eggs and bacon. Otherwise all was excellent!

The property gardens are well kept, the beds and pillows were quite comfortable. The spa area is small but clean. Breakfast coffee was great, and spa provided amenities also

A bit overpriced for what it offers. The breakfast was a bit too limited for the price, for instance the bread offer was very reduced, it wasnt even fresh bread. There was the possibility to make fresh fruit juices but you had to prepare it yourself, as in , peel and cut the fruit/veggies, which is ok but i found a bit odd for the price we paid

Not being able to sleep entire night due malfunction of alarms ringing. Do not recommend. Staff not friendly and not willing to work out compensations.

Sono rimasto deluso dalla mia esperienza in questa spa. Il personale si è dimostrato fin da subito invadente.Non mi sono sentito a mio agio. Inoltre, l’organizzazione appariva poco curata: gli ambienti erano trascurati, con un’aria poco rilassante. Ciò che mi ha veramente dato fastidio è stata la puzza di fumo nel corridoio: è inaccettabile in un centro benessere, dove ci si va proprio per distendersi e sentirsi coccolati. L’odore persistente rendeva l’atmosfera tutt’altro che rilassante.

beautiful villa at the edge of town. the facilities are very good the room is spacious and the bed big and comfortable. tha spa is also very good luckly we were only two couples if there were more it could be a bit akward because its small and very intimate. break fast was also good although not great the best feature is the self service juice grinder.

the parking is a way of from reception and there is also a flight of stairs you need to carry the suit case . after wards i found that there is a way throught the restaurant there is no proper sign for this. maintenance ok the button to the toilet was jammed. and on 8 oclock in the morning bellow our window they had to work with leaf blower that is really annoying when you go out of the way for some peace and quite. and wify is resly bad also phone reception

A truly remote but beautifully renovated country house, albeit less spacious than the advertising photos.

Apart from one male employee, the staff is sparse and unfriendly. The breakfast is meager and of average quality at best, with old fruit and vegetables and discount cheese and ham. The small spa can only be used for two hours for €45 per guest. Not a place to spend much time.

Nice historical building with convenient parking and a peaceful outdoor area.

I booked a superior room filtering specifically for it to have accessibility features. Upon arrival, we were given a room where the bed could only be reached by uncomfortable stairs to an upper floor. This was not shown in the listing photos, and it affected our stay. What made the situation worse was the management’s attitude. They were unprofessional, not transparent, and refused to acknowledge the problem. Mistakes can happen, but the way they handled it - by denying responsibility - was disappointing and unacceptable. Thankfully, Booking’s customer service fully supported us and recognized the issue.

Die Duschen sollten sorgfältiger nach Schimmel gesäubert werden. Es war eine alte Schichte bei uns, die nach einer wöchentlichen Reinigung hätte vermindern können.

Sehr gepflegte Anlage mit sehr netten Personal. Das Konzept ein altes Gebäude so zu renovieren ist wirklich gut gelungen.

Einzig die Gelsen (Mücken) am Pool waren ein wenig lästig.

Ottimo set di accoglienza per il soggiorno, incluso il cagnolino. Stanza grande e confortevole.

Qualche problema di comunicazione prima del soggiorno (via telefono e messaggi), in compenso lo staff nel complesso è molto disponibile. Nel tardo pomeriggio la piscina diventa difficile da utilizzare a causa di una massiccia presenza di zanzare.

SPA ist super, hatte noch nie so eine tolle Massage von einem Physiotherapeuten, die Betten waren groß und sehr bequem, das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag mit Liebe gereinigt. Jeden Tag kam ein Koch mit frischen Zutaten, nahm die Kräuter aus dem Kräutergarten dazu und hat alle Speisen frisch zubereitet, handmade Pasta 😋Der Aussenpool ist optimal, die ganze Parkanlage sehr gepflegt. Das Personal versucht jeden individuellen Wunsch zu erfüllen. Im Dorf Viano gibt es zusätzliche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, eine Fahrradstrecke führt direkt am Haus vorbei…, ich habe noch nie Urlaub in so einem Paradies verbracht… Giulia war so engagiert und großartig. Tagesausflüge nach Modena, Parma und Reggio Emilia sind einfach einzubauen. Beste Note für Borgo Cadonega 😍

Airconditioning virkede ikke optimalt. Man kunne ikke regulere temperaturen samt vindhastigheden. Personalet varierede i deres evne til at omfavne kunderne. Nogle var servicemindet andre virkede til ikke at gide deres arbejde.

We loved the pool, spa and suite with bathtub!

We would have appreciated the option to order drinks at the pool without having to go to reception (not ideal when dripping wet in swimwear!). It would be great if staff could occasionally check on guests there and ask if they need things.
