Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Das Haus hat ein Motto: Totoro, das sind kleine Tiere aus einem japanischen Film. Unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon und wir konnten ihn bei Regenwetter super nutzen. Die Zimmer sind schön gestaltet und es gibt alles was man braucht, wir haben auch sehr gut geschlafen..
Dusche und Toilette sind mit einer Glaswand mit milchglaseinsatz jjvom Zimmer abgetrennt. Das ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig

I struggled to find it in the rain. It would help if the owners sent pictures of the entrance so it's really clear. There are pictures on booking.com which show the back entrance (which actually confused me more!)

Reviewed May 16, 2026Conveniently located at the heart of the village and only a few steps to the Sun Moon Lake ferry point. They have a common area with tea/coffee and a shared fridge as well as a water refill station.
When I arrived, thw doors were closed. I called the number that was given, but no one replied. Took some time until someone came to let me in. Make sure you have a local sim/data if you want to stay there!

Reviewed May 8, 2026We loved this place, can’t speak more highly of it! Stunning guesthouse in a perfect location right by sun moon lake. The room is large, clean, comfortable. Great bathroom, amazing shower. Comfy bed. The garden area is lovely, and there are so many cute little design features about the place that you can tell there has been a lot of attention to detail. Good communal kitchen area too. The staff are so nice and helpful. It’s the perfect chill place to stay in sun moon lake.

Reviewed Apr 16, 2026住宿地點超棒，坐巴士客運到水社走幾步就到了，很讚。 店門口就是租單車的地方，可以直接租了就騎去遊日月潭，方便。
房門的隔音有些不佳，但還行，因為白天很累想睡，睡死了就聽不到。 只是會聽得到隔壁開關門的聲音，他們進房門後就沒什麼聲音了。

Reviewed Mar 24, 2026位置很方便，無論是面對中興停車場或是無名早餐兩側都有出入口。高CP值。入住三人房，空間寬敞乾淨。晚上可以到茶老爹吃飯，吃飽後再到蔣公碼頭與涵碧文學步道散步看星星。隔日停車優惠只到中午12點，不過後續很多腳踏車租借都有提供免費車位，停車通常不會有很多額外的成本。

היה לנו קצת קשה למצוא את המקום בהתחלה. יש שילוט אבל הוא נורא קטן. יש דלת שקופה עם טשטוש קל ממש בין המיטה לבין השירותים והמקלחת - לא מפריע, אבל רק שתדעו.

Reviewed Jan 3, 2026Lovely host, very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are big and comfy, everything is very clean. Bike rental right next to the hotel, and you get a discount there too. Great location for biking around the lake.
It was very loud at night as the rooms have bad insulation. You can hear all the other guests and we got woken up by people coming back at 3am.

Reviewed Sep 19, 2025Zimmer sehr schön im Ghibli/Totoro-Style dekoriert. Zimmergröße völlig gut. Küche im UG gut ausgestattet. kleiner Garten im Hinterhof, worüber man auch direkt an einem 7-eleven landet. (sind noch 2 weitere sehr nah!) Personal sehr freundlich. Bushaltestelle (für Busse aus/Nach Taipei oder Taichung fußläufig erreichbar)
Zimmer ohne Fenster (war aber an sich für uns ok), Erwähnenswerteweise das Bad: mit Glastür und nicht überall Milchglas, über das dekorierte Totoro-Abteil konnte man der anderen Person beim Duschen zuschauen (nur als Info, falls sich jemand dran stört)

Reviewed Aug 14, 2025The facility's small entrance is located next to a 7-11 convenience store, across from the Sun Moon Lake Shuishe Zhongxing Parking Lot. There is also an entrance at the address (No.123, Zhongshan Rd), but the sign is so small and inconspicuous, and I had a little hard time finding it. The host was very friendly and provided me with some sightseeing tips. The entire facility seemed to be themed around the world of My Neighbour Totoro, and a great deal of thought had gone into the design. My room was very unique, and the installation expressing Totoro's family was so cute. However, to be honest, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The room smelled like a toilet, and it wasn't easy to sleep. The air conditioner was also very loud. As others have mentioned, the thin walls also contributed to the noise. The smell and noise were so bad that I considered sleeping in my car in the parking lot.

Check-in is only possible before 18, and check-out is usually between 8 and 11, but I explained that I had to catch the bus to Alishan at 8, and staff arranged for me to check-out before 8. :) There's no elevator, and rooms are on the 2nd floor, so the guest house is not suitable for those with limited mobility or heavy luggage. There's 2 entries, one of which is very conveniently located next to a 7-eleven.

La personne qui nous a accueillie était très gentille et nous a donné des conseils pour notre séjour. Elle propose des réductions sur le ferry et la location de vélo, plus avantageuse qu’ailleurs.
Il n’y a pas d’ascenseur si vous avez des gros bagages, c’est faisable en faisant attention surtout dans les escaliers à l’entrée arrière. Les chambres sont peu insonorisés donc on peut entend les voisins qui se douchent très tôt…

The sounds is penetrating outside but nothing other than that! Amazing experience.

Reviewed Mar 12, 2025The location was great, a 1-minute walk (even with suitcases) to the main bus station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. She gave me a quick intro of everything inside the place and even recommended places to visit. They have a little Japanese garden with a swing that was very pretty, too bad we didn't stay for long so not much time to chill there.
The front of the place was a bicycle rental shop with a little sign that said Timing House, so it gave us a little hard time to locate. Rooms aren't very well soundproofed.

Reviewed Jan 7, 2025Very helpful owners - we bought tickets for the boat from them (with a discount), we could also get help with booking bikes (including electric ones). We also got a lot of recommendations on what to do. I think they can be very helpful in organizing attractions in Sun Moon Lake. We were also given the opportunity to check in earlier, which we thank you for. The Totoro movie-themed room was great. Great that we also received a postcard for free - we collect them from every place we visit.
I would introduce a soap dispenser - it's better than disposable soap. PS. The bathroom has a transparent glass (but it's on the side) - it didn't bother us, but it might be uncomfortable for someone.
