Aravanes zachwyca w sposób nieoczywisty. Mieszkaliśmy w niewielkim apartamencie rozłożonym na dwóch kondygnacjach, za to z ogromnym tarasem. wspomnienie porannej kawy z widokiem na Psiloritis do tehj pory sprawia, że wstaję radosna. Przyjeżdżając tutaj, dostaje się jednak znacznie więcej niż miejsce do spania i odpoczynku. Na kilka dni stajemy się częścią maleńkiej górskiej wioski. Nie jest się zamkniętym w pokoju ani w kurortowym ośrodk. Przeciwnie, otwierają się przed nami kolejne małe światy: kawiarnia, w której rano można wypić kawę i posłuchać lokalnych rozmów, spacery po wzgórzach z niesamowitymi widokami, odkrywanie pozostałości starożytnego Sybritos, a wieczorem pyszna kolacja w tavernie prowadzonej przez właściciela Aravanes i ejgo rodzinę. I właśnie te wieczory są osobną historią: przepyszna kuchnia, rozmowy, cenne wskazówki dotyczące okolicy i gospodarz, który, choć cały czas biega między stolikami, zawsze znajdzie chwilę, żeby zagadnąć, coś opowiedzieć albo doradzić. Sam pokój nie jest duży, ale zupełnie nam to nie przeszkadzało, bo właściwie do dyspozycji ma się ogromną przestrzeń: taras, wioskę, góry, tawernę i fantastyczny basen. Basen jest rewelacyjny. Ukryty wśród zieleni, z zapierającym dech widokiem. Można tam zaznać prawdziwego luksusu, często niemal na wyłączność. Jest wystarczająco duży, żeby trochę popływać, świetny dla dzieci, są wygodne leżaki i przede wszystkim cisza oraz widok, od którego trudno się oderwać. Aravanes nie jest po prostu noclegiem. To miejsce, które pozwala na chwilę wejść w rytm kreteńskiej górskiej wioski – i właśnie dlatego zostaje w pamięci.

Une vraie parenthèse enchantée en pleine montagne. Accueil adorable, très bons repas (dîner et petit déjeuner), calme et confortable.

Aravanes is a hidden gem! The food was incredibly fresh and unique to the region and the rooms were very comfortable and perfect for 2 of us. But the best part of our stay was the kindness and welcome extended by Eleftheria and Tito. Thank you for an amazing stay, we look forward to returning again :)

Ein wunderschönes Hotel in sehr schöner Lage und mit der alten kretischen Gastfreundschaft. Das alles zusammen macht Aravanes zu einem ganz besonderen Ort.

Ideale Lage, um sich im Landesinneren umzusehen und Ausgrabungen anzuschauen. Sehr schöne große Zimmer und ein großzügiger Pool verwöhnen den Gast.

La ubicación es excelente, con unas vistas impresionantes de todo el valle desde la habitación, desde la amplia terraza que sirve de comedor y desde la piscina. La atención por parte personal ha sido inmejorable, tanto en servicio como en amabilidad. Las habitaciones no son muy grandes, pero resultan suficientes. Los desayunos son contundentes, todo con productos locales muy buenos. También cenamos muy bien allí los días que nos alojamos. Tiene un parking privado muy amplio. Quedamos encantados de este lugar. Sin duda volveríamos a repetir si volvemos por la zona.

L'endroit et le cadre montagneux exceptionnel, la vue de puis la vaste terrasse et certaines chambres (Mont Ida), la gentillesse des propriétaires, les échanges avec eux, la qualité de la nourriture, le rapport qualité-prix...

Wat een fantastische plek, ver weg van het (massa) toerisme. Hier kom je echt voor je rust en de natuur. Ruime kamers met een zitje, een prachtig uitzicht op de bergen vanuit je bed of vanaf het balkon. De eigenaar is heel zorgzaam en gastvrij en geeft tips voor het ontdekken van de omgeving. Het ontbijt is geweldig, ook het avondeten is helemaal in orde. In de omgeving mooie wandelingen te maken. Een plek om naar terug te keren!

Le calme et la vue sur les montagnes environnantes. L 'excellent dîner à base de produits maison. Le petit-déjeuner copieux et délicieux. La piscine pour se rafraîchir après une journée de visites. L'hospitalité de la famille gérante.

Οι ιδιοκτήτες ήταν ευγενικοί, φιλικοί και πάντα πρόθυμοι να μας εξυπηρετήσουν, κάνοντάς μας να νιώσουμε άνετα. Το δωμάτιο ήταν καθαρό, άνετο και προσεγμένο με όμορφη θέα,, ενώ η μικρή αλλά πανέμορφη πισίνα ήταν ιδανική για στιγμές χαλάρωσης με τα παιδιά. Η τοποθεσία είναι πραγματικά υπέροχη, σε ένα ήσυχο και όμορφο μέρος που βλεπει τον Ψηλορείτη κ προσφέρει ξεκούραση και γαλήνη. Περάσαμε υπέροχα και θα το επιλέγαμε ξανά χωρίς δεύτερη σκέψη. Το συστήνουμε ανεπιφύλακτα σε όποιον αναζητά ένα ευχάριστο και φιλόξενο κατάλυμα.

Les hôtes sont aux petits soins et renseignent très bien, les repas avec les produits locaux sont très bons, tout est propre, la vue est magnifique, la piscine est à peine faiche mais très agréable, l'emplacement est bon pour plusieurs visites à 30 ou 40 min max en voiture (gorge de Patsos, Arkadi, grotte Mélidoni, village Margarites, etc...), et c'est un lieu très paisible et très calme.

The room was sparkling clean with a beautiful view on the mountains, everything was better than expected, the pool was great and the owner is super nice and understanding.

The diner is absolutely amazing

Die Zimmer waren wirklich geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet – man hat gemerkt, dass sich hier jemand Gedanken gemacht hat. Die Größe war ideal für zwei Personen, und die Sauberkeit war durch die tägliche Reinigung absolut makellos. Eleftheria ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin – aufmerksam, herzlich und stets bemüht, einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Auf Sonderwünsche ist sie ohne Probleme eingegangen, was den Aufenthalt noch persönlicher gemacht hat. Auch kulinarisch wurden wir verwöhnt: Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr lecker, und auch das Frühstück hat uns rundum gut gefallen.

Der Pool liegt schön privat in einem kleinen Garten, könnte aber etwas mehr Pflege vertragen, da durch die Lage in der Natur leichter Verunreinigungen auftreten. An den ersten zwei Tagen gab es einige grüne Stellen, zudem hinterließen Schwalben ihre Spuren.

Locatie en sfeervolle opzet

Das Aravanes liegt im kleinen Ort/Dorf Thronos wunderschön inmitten einer Berglandschaft - und es ist unglaublich ruhig dort. Sehr erholsam. Die Doppelzimmer sind klein, aber mit Balkon. Und es gibt ein Zimmer ohne Balkon, mit sehr kleinem Fenster, das praktisch komplett von einer Doppel-Schlafcouch ausgefüllt ist. Das wird mehr oder weniger als Einzelzimmer angeboten. Aufhalten kann man sich in dem Raum nicht, aber zum Hotel gehört ein großer Garten mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeien sowie eine große Terrasse, da findet man immer einen guten Platz. Wir haben im Hotel hervorragend zu Abend gegessen und für 12 Euro p.P. am nächsten Tag ein sehr üppiges und leckeres Frühstück genossen.

J'étais en classe économique et je n'ai pas eu la sensation d'avoir eu accès à moins de respect et de services que les autres clients. Le lieu est idéalement situé au pied de l'ancienne ville Minoenne de Syvritos, accessible en quelques minutes à pied, d'où le point de vue sur la vallée d'un côté et les montagnes de Zeus de l'autre, est à couper le souffle. Plusieurs balades à pied sont envisageables dans la région, ou bien celles de monastère. Vallée habitée par l'homme depuis l'âge du bronze, jusqu'à aujourd'hui donc, avec une aura très particulière de présence agricole et religieuse. La piscine est parfaite pour se rafraîchir. Le bâtiment est rénové, c'est appréciable de voir que cet hébergement touristique ne voit pas les clients uniquement comme un moyen de gagner sa vie. La terrasse au moment du coucher de soleil est divine... Laissez vous contempler les ombres qui englobent les collines alentours et amusez-vous à regarder l'heure à votre téléphone, vous vous apercevrez que ça fait comme une horloge naturelle... Les repas sont de qualité à prix tout à fait raisonnable, avec la tradition du dessert et du Raki en fin de repas. Le service est irréprochable.

Les cloisons peuvent être légères. Si votre voisin fait du bruit par inadvertance ou bien parce qu'il est bruyant de nature, le matin avant votre réveil ou le soir après votre coucher, vous pouvez être réveillés.

The views from the terrace of the apartment and taverna were stunning. The apartment itself was a good size, nicely decorated, and comfortable. Tito and his wife were really lovely hosts, and so welcoming to our four month son. It was a lovely stay in the mountains, and we’d thorough recommend this place.

Das Frühstück war abwechslungsreich und reichhaltig. Uns wurde jeder Wunsch erfüllt! Wir wurden stets äußerst zuvorkommend und überaus herzlich behandelt und bedient - ob beim Frühstück oder Mittagessen oder auch abends bei Wein und Kleinigkeiten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

What an unforgettable hidden gem! We travel a lot, but I don’t think any place will ever match the magic of this hotel. It is a peaceful paradise with breathtaking views, phenomenal home-cooked food, and the most welcoming hosts who make you feel right at home. The local area is packed with stunning gorge walks and picture-perfect villages. We only stayed for three days, but we are absolutely booking a longer trip next time!

Everything was wonderful! We had an amazing experience and truly enjoyed our stay. The service, atmosphere, and overall quality exceeded our expectations. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommended

Tout est splendide, de l’accueil au site avec sa magnifique terrasse, la piscine entourée de verdure et la chambre très confortable. Le repas du soir est copieux et succulent.

The best meals that we had in Crete were at the Aravanes Taverna. The rooms and beds were very clean and comfortable. The views of the mountains and valley from the balcony are amazing. It is very close to a number of great hiking trails: the Patsos gorge, the Platania gorge, and the Milli gorge. There's a spectacular drive through the Kourtaliotiko gorge to the southern beaches of Preveli, Triopetra, Skinaria and Plakias. For archeology buffs, the Syvritos site is a short walking and the archaelogical dig and museum at Eleutherna is a 30 min. drive.

We should have stayed longer.

The location is stunning, great walks around there. It has a great restaurant. Really lovey hosts

Nothing bad to be said

There are places that capture your heart from the very first moment. It really doesn't matter at all how comfortable the bed was, or what the stairs were like; that doesn't matter at all. What truly matters is the heart and the people of the place. And here, you know you’ve arrived at the right spot the moment you meet the smile and warm welcome of Tito and Eleftheria, who transform your experience entirely. That is the true, Cretan experience. Meeting the wonderful people who chose to bind their lives to this incredible mountain village, hearing their stories, and tasting the local flavors made by their own hands. This is an experience I will treasure for a long time, and I hope to return there very soon.

Amazing location in Amari with beautiful views over the valley. Nice and helpful owners who gave us advice on walking paths. Big and comfortable room with AC or heating, as required, and well functioning shower. Breakfasts and dinners in the tavern were traditional and good. We had a lovely stay. Thank you.

Sans aucune hésitation, la meilleure vue de notre périple! Une vue à couper le souffle, au milieu des montagnes! Dépaysement total assuré! Chambre très confortable, bien équipée, très calme. Bouteille d'eau à l'arrivée ce qui est très appréciable :-). Gourmands que nous sommes, nous avons diner et petit déjeuner à l'hôtel et nous n'avons pas regretté notre choix, produits de qualités, portions généreuses, miam, la nourriture crétoise est mise à l'honneur! The room was big and had a nice view. Breakfast had nice fresh orange juice. The restaurant is excellent, local recipes with fresh ingredients. Unique!

Coffee and bread could be improved. Also it would be nice if they had granola or cereals, and fresh milk.

This was a stunning place with exceptional food and views. I had high expectations and this exceeded them. It was so serene and peaceful. And the food was the best we had in Crete.

La struttura nella valle di Amari è bellissima: nasconde una enorme terrazza con vista dove fare colazione è spettacolare. Noi avevamo prenotato una stanza piuttosto piccola ma comoda e pulita, con bagno e terrazzino. La parte migliore è la taverna in cui si mangia divinamente: il proprietario è molto cordiale ed è stato piacevole fare conversazione. E' un ottimo punto da dove visitare i dintorni: noi abbiamo fatto un bellissimo trekking nella incredibile gola di Platania dove abbiamo osservato tanti grifoni.

Alles sehr fein: nettes Personal, Chef jedoch waren wir sehr enttäuscht, dass der Pool nicht geöffnet war weil er nicht gereinigt wurde. Wir haben den 3 Kindern den Pool als Highlight geschildert und deshalb auch dieses hotel gewählt! Gerne wären wir zuvor über die Schliessung informiert geworden! Sonst war alles top!

The hotel is in a small village overlooking the beautiful Amari valley. It’s a totally unspoilt area of Crete, with lovely villages and plenty of character and culture. The breakfasts are excellent as were the evening meals.

We didn’t get a room but an apartment that was split between a kitchen on the second floor and our room on the third floor connected by steep tall steps outside. If you want to to make tea or coffee at night or early in the morning, you have to dress, walk downstairs to the kitchen and back to the room. Rain or sunshine. Also hauling the luggage to and from the room was challenging.

Beautiful location with gorgeous views. Very kind and gentle hosts. Good taverna with locally sourced food. Quiet room with comfortable bed , nice shower room , a stove for the winter. Beautiful places to walk in a friendly small village. When I needed hot water the host switched it on for me. I didn't have breakfast , which came at an extra cost but the host gave some of the freshly baked biscuits and they were incredible, I asked if I could buy some more but she gave me some , which was so kind. Thank you!

I was expecting the pool to be open but it wasn't. I chose the hotel because of the pool. It was explained that as it was end of season the hosts didn't want to throw away the pool water and refresh it because water is scarce on the island. I understood this and felt it was reasonable..

Lovely authentic rooms and a nice location in the village centre with amazing views over Amari and Mt Ida. The couple who run the hotel are delightful, very friendly and helpful. Nice pool and garden too. Really enjoyed dinner both nights, excellent value, and the breakfast is fantastic. We hope to return sometime and we wish Aravanes all the best in the meantime.

It’s a beautiful location in the Crete mountains. Gorgeous views from the terrace. It’s a one of kind property and run by the nicest people. The breakfast and dinner were both absolutely delicious (and very reasonably priced)!

Un posto meraviglioso, immerso nel verde, con una bellissima piscina dove le bambine hanno giocato senza sosta, divertendosi un mondo. Personale gentilissimo, cibo ottimo dalla colazione ai pasti principali, tutto servito in un giardino con vista sulla valle, camere belle e pulite. In una parola, perfetto.

This place is really special, I highly recommend to book longer stay here! Huge thanks to the owners for their hospitality, delicious - home made food and overall super nice experience we got in this cozy hotel. View is fantastic, quiet area and there are some really good places to visit around. We will be back for sure.
