Excellent hotel—very clean with friendly and welcoming staff. The spa was relaxing, and the tennis courts were beautiful and well maintained. The property feels very secure and offers stunning views. A wonderful place to stay!

This was, by far, the nicest hotel we stayed at during our two weeks in Greece. The hotel, facilities, landscaping, customer service, exceeded beyond five stars. We will be back again for our next visit.

The Mystras Grand Palace Resort and Spa is a destination in itself. From the cozy rooms, to tennis courts to 2 swimming pools to spa amenities to outstanding Greek cuisine, it offers a wonderful get-away for couples and families. It's location is close to shopping in Sparta and the ruins of the Mystras Castle. If you're in Greece, a must stay is this wonderful resort.

Exceptional accommodations with professional staff. The room was amazing and the staff bent over backwards to accommodate our newborn.

We had a nice stay at Mystras - the staff was very helpful. Very well maintained tennis courts and an adorable tennis coach. Evangelia was very professional and friendly - giving supportive feedback, always with a big smile och her face. We had some trouble with uncomfortable extra bed and the AC, but the staff helped us in the best possible way. Thanks for an nice stay.

Incredible setting in the valley below the magical ruins of Mystras. Beautifully designed, nestled amongst olive trees, this resort captures the essence of its surroundings with class. Beautiful pools, friendly staff and one of the best breakfast buffets anywhere in Europe.

Lovely hotel just a bit too far from Mystras town to be able to walk in. Great pool area but the bar and outdoor restaurant weren’t open yet mid May Our room had a balcony with a nice view but looks like not all have a balcony. Room was very dark, hardly any natural light. Had a beautiful claw footed bath but not allowed to use it as it leaks according to reception. The shower over it was a hand held contraption and had a large step to get into but hard to get out of so not great if you’re older. The restaurant food and staff were very good. Free on site parking, an unusual thing from Greece!

Too many bugs in the room. The room service food is mediocre. We did appreciate the roses and green grass outside.

It's an exceptional property. Beyond beautiful. Everything about our stay was perfect, except for the discovery of the complimentary breakfast on our last day.

Excellent service, food and beautiful views!

Wow, what a fantastic stay! We were immediately welcomed by the lovely staff and shown the grounds via golf cart. The room was lovely although a little dark, and the bed was one of the comfiest beds I have ever had the fortune of sleeping in. The pool (and the pool bar service) was top class. The tennis courts were lush and set against a gorgeous mountain backdrop. The gym could do with a little update but who am I to complain. And the cherry on top of an already fabulous hotel, was the dinner. Christos was the most amazing and attentive waiter who made us feel so welcome. He recommended such a delicious wine and even introduced us to the world of mastika. The only fault was the cooked breakfast could be better but who am I to complain. Thank you Mystras!!

Beautiful property. Looks like a vineyard. Rooms were very comfy and fully stocked with all amenities. Beautiful tennis courts and pools . Great , attentive and very kind service ( both at the hotel, poolside and restaurant) Breakfast buffet was amazing and offered lots of traditional items in addition to the classic fare. My advice: Forget the scrambled eggs , pancakes and doughnuts for once and give the other options a chance ! Diner was on the pricier side - it is fine dining after all- but definitely worth it! Try the Octopus and shrimp carpaccio! Minor criticisms : Pool closes at 7 pm, which is a shame given the pool bar and pool restaurant . Also, Music choice ( hip hop and 80s tunes) and volume were a bit high and out of place during breakfast, especially with the gorgeous views of the mountains and gorges in the distance. But the staff was prompt to address this once notified. Overall a great experience.

This is the epitomy of a five star hotel. Beautiful rooms, excellent dining, a fantastic breakfast buffet, and a golf buggy to ferry your luggage. Two lovely swimming pools with plenty of loungers. And nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was included despite us not specifically ordering a B&B rate. Just seven minutes drive from Mystras archeological site.

We are always beyond happy with this property! Expectations always exceeded! Keep up the good work and I look forward to having other family stay there while visiting us. Thanks for the great hospitality!

The property is very clean and quiet. Both pool areas were spacious. Good delicious and cocktails were amazing. Rooms cleaned everyday. Staff was beyond friendly. The free breakfast was amazing a lot to choose from

The hotel is superb! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. they responded to my concerns within 15 minutes. The grounds are exceptional, clean and easy access. Their food is also amazing.

Breakfast offering is diversely incredible and includes a genuine Greek coffee set up. Swimming pools were thoroughly enjoyable in time of “Climactic Emergency , Temperature” that shut down archeological sites. Hospitality of staff is excellent & highly responsive. Lovely lodgings well worth enjoying.

The hotel is impeccable, the food and drinks are delicious and affordable, and the amenities are excellent. The staff is kind, attentivr, and very helpful. The best part is the location - it's absolutely stunning being at the foot of the mountains and seeing the ruins of Mystras from the hotel, which is less than 10 minutes away. If you're coming to the Peloponnese, you must see Mystras. If you're going to see Mystras, this is a perfect place to stay.

Five stars for the Impressive breakfast spread packed in two large rooms and hardworking helpful wait staff… they even have an old fashioned hot sand Turkish coffee maker. All buildings are fairly new, large modern bathroom with huge shower, Room walls are stone that made the room fairly dark, every time returning to the room, it smells musky. Thin and hard towels, thin mattress. No screens so can’t open windows or doors unless one is immune to mosquitoes and flying insects. Few minutes from the Mystras ancient site and short ride to the Acropolis of Sparta. Worst 35 euro per person buffet dinner with music by the pool STRONGLY recommended by the front desk. Not only the six chafing dish of hot food over nuked and uneatable. Few pieces of fruit and prepackaged desert were awful too. The wait staffs were slow and rude. This was the worst meal we had for the entire four weeks trip in Greece. Can’t comprehend the night and day difference of breakfast and dinner. Annoying: receptionists at checkout asked for tips, when we replied no, her face changed and turned away. My years of travels and hundreds of hotel stays, I have never been asked to give tips during hotel checkouts.

Great full service hotel, with fantastic helpful staff, located outside of Sparta and near Mystra new town. Has pool, bar, lounge, restaurant,spa. Great breakfast buffet. Free parking. Looks like old village in an olive grove. You won't find better anywhere around this area.

This property was paradise. We absolutely loved it and completely surprised that this gem is located in the middle of nowhere. Check it out you won’t be disappointed.

This hotel is one of the nicest properties I have stayed in, including 5 and 6 stay hotels. The value is outstanding, and the staff is so very attentive. Definitely would stay again.

Lovely resort with several pools, friendly staff, well appointed rooms. Gardens and surrounds are well maintained and lush. Room had a balcony, small fridge, kettle. Close to the Mystras ruins.

Beautiful environment and room.

It was quiet and clean.

We had 3 adults in one room and the room was spacious. Our king size bed was very comfortable and my son's pull out sofa bed was a queen size bed. The bathroom was the most spacious we had in Greece (9 hotels). Dinner at the restaurant was fantastic and the service was top notch. I would definitely stay here again.

Property is beautiful and sprawling yet rooms are a little small. Breakfast a la carte service is slow. Property could use more staff. Lots of stray cats around making a lot of noise at night.

Wonderful place to stay

This property is amazing. Ingenious design -- pure beauty aligned with the architecture of the Byzantine era for which Mystras is known for. All details accounted for. Pool clean and beautiful. Dinner was outstanding. room and bathroom luxurious. Staff absolutely professional and kind at every moment. Breakfast outstanding with attention to local specialties. A place not to be missed. If you are going to visit the Mystras site -- stay for two nights.

Great hotel !

Somewhere where everyone takes pride in delivering friendly, professional and good quality service. Great facilities in a lovely location, all well maintained. Good for families, romantic breaks for couples or oddball father-son pairs who are visiting nearby ancient/medieval ruins. We faced a situation that the hotel helped hugely with which made a difference to our holiday.

From the moment we arrived and saw the main gate to the day we left our stay was lovely the staff were great Breakfast was amazing the pools were never really busy and our accommodation superb . We were B&B so ate out every night in Sparti or Mystras 5 minutes up the road and also some lovely restaurants up in mountains . Thanks to everyone at Mystras grand palace for a great holiday

This resort is truly unique. We had a wonderful experience and didn't want to leave. It is in beautiful natural surroundings, the amenities are amazing, and the staff do everything possible to make your stay memorable. We can't wait to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The service was impeccable from every staff member and went the extra mile to ensure they met your needs. The rooms were great and quiet. The onsite restaurant is excellent indeed. Breakfast options were plentiful. Highly recommend spending a couple of nights here if you are travelling around Greece.

Unique place

Excellent location and beautiful facilities and grounds

This resort has a lot of potential but definitely seemed a little rough around the edges. It seemed like there wasn’t enough staff to maintain a property of this size—large parts of the grass were uncut on arrival. The pools and facilities were clean and well maintained. The staff often seemed to be trying to do too many jobs at once, however, and one evening this resulted in a dinner where it took over 40 minutes to get a menu. The food itself was mediocre. Due to COVID-19, there was no coffee maker or tea kettle in the room and they charged 5 Euro for a mug of tea. While I would likely not stay here again, the resort may outgrow some of these disappointments.

The staff was exceptional. The setting and the keeping of the Spartan tradition made our stay unique.

The Mystras Grand Palace is a 4 Star Country Club masquerading as a 5 star resort. The property is currently run for the benefit of local daily entry clientele and friends and family. There is a distinct lack of international guests which no doubt has impacted on their model/offer. Staff are friendly and helpful but management are clueless on how to run a 5 star property. Management and staff sharing and enjoying the pool and cafe/restaurant facilities with guests was something I have never seen at any other 5 star hotels. Another example is where we were locked out of our room with the automatic door failing and no master key available. The General Manager, Duty Manager and front desk were unable to locate a master key or open the door. Eventually the CEO of the hotel was tracked down and he was able to open our door. There is a very 'relaxed' atmosphere with regards to the day to day running of the hotel that made it have a Country Club feel rather than a 5 star resort. The property itself it good and has potential with more professional management in place and/or licensing agreement with an international chain.

A 5 star resort in all aspects. Would happily stay again.

Great location and setting. Grounds were kept in pristine condition. Staff friendly and curious. Great breakfast included. Rooms were designed nicely but poorly executed. We had a total of 3 rooms individually booked. 2 rooms had issues. A handicapped room was assigned the head issues with the shower wand. No place for a non-handicap person to attach the shower wand on the wall. It took the staff three days to come in and install simple holder. The other room which was on the second floor also had issues with the bathroom. This room had a huge deep bathtub with a glass enclosure. To access the bathtub you had to traverse a step then into the tub which was very deep. Also the design was flawed as water leaked all over the floor making it very slippery and dangerous. The front desk was informed of this issue the first day and was told it will be taken care of. Which it was not. Even though we had these issues I will definitely return catchup and stay longer especially in the summertime and enjoy the beautiful outdoor pool area. I would though recommend only ground floors and non-handicapped accessible rooms.

I didn’t like how they cancelled my villa, and called me to say that the Air-condition is under maintenance. Then when I have arrived, I found a group of people staying in it when I have paid for it first.
