The Hancock Hotel

This is a charming hotel located in the heart of it all. The staff is friendly and the accommodations are lovely. Our refrigerator did not work upon arrival and within 10 minutes the maintenance man wheeled in a new one and set it up. Beautiful lobby and restaurant.

A small complaint is that the toilet is low and not a soft closing lid.

My wife and I had dinner at the restaurant. It was great. Then we took a evening walk around the block. Didn't know that Marathon Oil's headquarters was just a block away. We loved seeing the many murals in that area. I would recommend the Hancock to anyone staying in Finley.

Booking.com OVERCHARGED me more than DOUBLE the cost if I would have just called the hotel DIRECTLY. That was verified by the hotel front desk staff. I will NEVER use Booking.com again.

I stayed at The Hancock Hotel for just one night, but it was enough to make me want to come back. I loved everything about it: the elegant design, the warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the attention to every detail. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, spacious, and extremely comfortable, making my stay truly enjoyable. The breakfast was also excellent, with high-quality food, great presentation, and attentive service. Unfortunately, my stay was too short, but I will be returning to this area frequently for work, and I have no doubt that I will always choose this hotel. My only wish is that, one day, The Hancock Hotel will join the Aeroplan program. It would be wonderful to earn airline miles while staying here. That would truly be the icing on the cake for a hotel that, in my opinion, deserves a perfect 10.

Location is always important. Cleanliness, too…some mold in the shower, but everything else was clean.

Parking was confusing. No pets is a problem for us, we had to kennel our very clean, very well behaved dog.

This is really a dream hotel to stay in Findlay... we had a corner king suite for 4 days and I would love to go back and stay again... you can't really compare to any of those large chains off I-75 or elsewhere... this really is THE PLACE. Great staff and great Mancy Steakhouse attached for breakfast... you will pay more for breakfast than walking down the street and it's worth it... great coffee and great bacon. We also used the free bicycles to ride around town... if you want to do some serious bicycling... bring your own bikes... still... these were OK for a small ride. Only one thing... if you want a "dark" room to sleep... not really here... I don't need it that dark... so i was oK. Large bathroom... a ton of storage for clothes etc., more than any other hotel I ever rented in the USA and I was a road warrior... this really is the best.

Booking.com really screwed me on this! There was no room available, I got a call from the hotel after I booked the room! Then to top it off Booking refused to return my payment! Told me that Booking would help me find a room elsewhere, didn't! Why should I trust them again ever!

Then told me I could only gat credit for future use! I'm pretty sure they would again charge my card for the full price of the room! What a rip off!

We visited Findlay, Ohio, to see friends and, on the way, checked Booking.com for a place to stay. Always looking for the highest-rated hotels, we found The Hancock Hotel, which was conveniently located near our friends. It had a 9+ rating and was very reasonably priced, so we booked it. What a wonderful place! It is truly a four-star hotel, with all the amenities and services one would expect. The property was spotless from top to bottom, the sheets and pillows were luxurious, everything was perfectly maintained, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful, and professional. Overall, it was a great experience and well deserving of its outstanding Booking.com rating.

I would suggest updating the parking information on the website. It says valet is available, but does not state it is mandatory. And there should be information in the room or posted somewhere to indicate where ice and other ammenities might be located. Not a complaint, just suggesting!

Everything. The staff were all wonderful & accommodating. The room was large. The bed was very comfy. There were delicious chocolate covered pretzels waiting. It was lovely!

Valet parking only. This is an inconvenience. It’s the only reason that I’d question staying there again.

Room was spacious. Overall Hotel was clean. Elevators were great. Always right there (Managed Otis Elevator and Schindler for 8-9 years), and I've not noticed this ever. Lobby/Lounge was great.

A place at this cost level and the prestige you want, should not charge for parking, and then even more the larger vehicles; nor should it be hidden into the cost of a stay. I have never had to pay for parking while at a hotel, anywhere in almost 60 years. You should have trash can(s) available outside of entries, so if you had a service dog, they had a place to put what they picked up and bagged. Currently you only have a small trash can at desk and in the area of the valet area. Maybe have donuts, bagels, muffins or some sort of quick breakfast food to have with your coffee area. Not everyone is a breakfast person, and wants to not only sit-down for breakfast, but pay higher costs, when most other hotels offer some sort of free breakfast. Bedding was thin and very underwhelming for what else to try to present.

Clean, convenient, and comfortable.

Mandatory valet at $19/night in Findlay Ohio is odd and unnecessary. Dated alarm clock with no modern phone charger and no additional outlets by bed to charge. Not a deal breaker but something I noticed; shabby finish work around the room (construction), mostly in the bathroom.

Amazing hotel! Very clean, and great amenities!

The fact that the housekeeper came into my room without knocking and are check out want until 11am. There were a lot of kids on our floor running up and down the hallways screaming, playing. Not very relaxing at all.

Had to Valet park --19 per night plus tips Towels were small and scratchy for such a nice hotel allergic to feather pillows shower head wasn't great for such a nice shower the built in body wash, shampoo conditioner bottles were right by where the shower head was so hard to get to with water spraying in your eyes.

Friendly staff and excellent food

Taylor and Asraya were great! I’ve never been valeted before and it was a great new experience. It felt very welcoming coming into the hotel and being helped with my vehicle. Recommend staying here and valeting again

When we checked in, they couldn't find our reservation. We were supposed to have a king room and ended up with a 2 queen room.

I love the whole feel of the hotel. Very very clean and smelled nice.

The beds were uncomfortable. Mattress very firm, pillow too soft, no soap at sink. Sheet you laid on was just a regular sheet that moved around. Not fitted.

Loved the shower, very comfortable beds, liked that the window could open, clean room, attractive building, good location. The exercise room was clean and well-appointed.

The fact that the only parking available to guests was valet and cost $19 plus tip. Would be better to put that in the price of the room rather than surprise the guest with it. It's a relatively small town, paid parking should not be forced upon the guests. There was no breakfast offered with the room, but we knew that prior to the reservation.

We liked everyting about this hotel. Excellant staff, very comfortable bed and wonderful restaurant (Mancy's) . We will be back again for another visit to Findlay. Beautifully furnished lobby with very comfortable conversation areas too.

Room was large with modern, clean, and comfortable amenities. Shower was wonderful! We have stayed here multiple times and have never been disappointed.

Wish they had self-parking options close to the property. Their valet parking is efficient, and our car was ready and warm when we were ready to depart, but we are in Findlay, OH, not NYC or Chicago!

We stayed here for 2 nights while we attended a wedding. The wedding and reception was held at the hotel. Everything was fabulous. The lobby was decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations. This hotel is really nice and doesn’t seem like it should be in Findlay, Ohio, seems like it should be in a large city. Very impressed. There is only valet parking but it was very efficient and quick and you can come and go as you like. Highly recommend this hotel for weddings or a nice getaway.
