My daughter and I absolutely loved staying here! We wanted an authentic Japanese experience, in a traditional house setting, and it exceeded our expectations! The bed was surprisingly very comfortable, as we slept on a foldup mattress on the floor. The interior was beautiful and traditional, just how we wanted. I was worried about noise and sharing bathrooms and only one shower with other people staying there, but it worked out fine! Everyone was very quiet and respectful. We really loved the breakfast and the owner is really nice and friendly! We had the chance to have a good conversation with him over breakfast. They let us keep our luggage there for the day, while we were out touring for the day, and went out of there way to order us a taxi to take us and our luggage to our next destination. The location is great and walking distance to many local attractions. I would love to stay there again!

Pour une nuit rapide, le lieu est charmant, proche de la plage et de la gare. On a accès a un frigo, du the et les lieux communs sont supers. Merci pour les recommandations, je suis arrivée tard et le monsieur de l'accueil m'a conseiller les lieux ouverts (peu nombreux après 22h). Merci !

Le futon n'était pas du tout confortable malheureusement, mais l'espace dans le dortoir convenable.

The location is very near to sea and the bus stop Kuhonji. The house is really cozy. It seems that the owners themselves also are living there.

There is a smell in the room and it’s quite humid.

I've been here in winter 2024 and I loved. I can tell I loved also in summer. The staff it's great, the house it's awesome and the position really good because you're very close to the beach. Only a bit far from the station, but there are buses

The staff was truly wonderful, kind and thoughtful. One woman bonded with us over the french language, and even recommended us the restaurant she works at where we ate delicious taiyaki! The home was beautiful and well-kept. The facilities provided everything one would need. The location was perfect, right in front of a bus stop and five steps away from the beachfront. Really, turtle time was a breath of fresh air and the perfect opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and appreciate the vibes of the wonderful city.

I still had to share a bathroom (I knew what we signed up for, though!) I also wish I could've slept with my partner instead of in separate bunk beds.

Un vrai et pur bonheur ! J’ai véritablement eu le sentiment d’être à la maison pendant quelques jours. On est adorablement accueillis dans cette belle maison traditionnelle à deux pas de la plage, et tout est fait pour qu’on s’y sente au mieux. Et prenez le petit déjeuner, il est succulent ! J’y reviendrai, et pour beaucoup plus longtemps la prochaine fois !

Cozy guesthouse! Perfect to stay one or two nights. Great location & very nice hosts! They give you a map with a lot of recommendations on restaurants and coffee places around! Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed the atmosphere at this hostel. It was the only hostel we booked, and it was fun to meet some of the other guests. The place is very unique and beautiful. And they helped me with laundry. We would definitely stay there again.

We found the beds to be quite hard. We were in the family room on roll out matts. We are staying at a few places with these matts, but most have added an extra pad underneath for comfort. We could feel the floor under us, which was fine for the kids, but harder for my older body.

Love the place ! Super friendly staff. Owner is very nice and explain to me a lot as first time visitor. Super clean and will definitely come back again.

A cozy, classic Japanese-style guesthouse with tatami floors and futon beds

Although there were doors, we could hear people breathing in the next room. There was also a curfew, and lights had to be off by 11 pm. Drinking and eating were not allowed in the room. I booked a private room to spend the night with my boyfriend, but we ended up moving to another hotel for more privacy.

La casa era muy linda. Tenía alrededor de 100 años, pero se notaba muy bien mantenida. La decoración de tortugas era muy adorable, estaban en cada pequeño rincón del lugar. Nuestra pieza era amplia y cómoda, dormimos muy bien en los futones. El lounge para estar y comer era muy agradable. Los hosts eran muy amables, nos explicaron muy bien cómo funcionaba todo, y recibieron nuestras maletas que enviamos con Yamato Kuroneko antes de nuestro check in. Fue una muy buena estadía. El lugar estaba bien conectado a la estación de Kamakura con un bus de distancia.

隔音不佳… 但明白是因為老屋的關係導致， 也因為自己的感官比較敏感導致當晚很難入睡及好眠。

The place is really nice and the staff is very friendly. Location is close to the beach. You have water, tea and coffee for your self. The place was clean. This was really a Japanese experience.

The walls are thin, so you'll hear other people's conversations. However, the staff provides earplugs.

Quiet place to stay… nice home made wine… we try all their fruit wine… highly recommended & must try… during our stay, we will feel warmest home made by owner. You may read the book written by owner 《龟时间》 Turtle Time, about the journey of turtle time.

A really friendly place, with lots of interesting people. Nice lounge space where everyone can relax, and excellent free tea and coffee. Breakfast was also really delicious.

Dormitory a little short on space (in terms of where to put bags), but not really a problem at all.

Le lieu est très chaleureux, après une longue journée de visite j’ai pris bcp de plaisir à m’installer dans les parties communes. Le soucis du détail, dans la décoration, dans les instructions donnés à l’arrivée, le recyclage des ordures, les produits dans la salle de bain et la literie. Un vrai coup de cœur ! J’aurais aimé rester plus longtemps !

la maison est belle et grande, on est proche des commerces et le quartier est assez calme

c'était super jusqu'a ce qu'on se rende compte qu'il n'y a pas du tout d'isolation. on s'est fait réveiller à 6h du matin par des gens qui préparent leurs petits déjeuner vu que notre chambre était collé à la cuisine.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough. My favorite hostel I have stayed at. The location was super close to the beach and about a 10 minute walk from downtown. The staff was so exceptional! I became good friends with them! They could not be more sweet and welcoming. I would happily come back!

Didn't schedule to take breakfast so can't say. It looked quite nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Lovely, charming locale and loved all of the Turtle items throughout.

Not much space in the bedroom for luggage storage: opening and closing. Weather was cold and the bathroom and shower room were quite cold and drafty. It would be super helpful to have a microwave to heat up food purchased.

I had a smooth experience from booking to checkout. The guest house is located near many shops, cafes, the station, and the beach. The hosts are really kind, friendly, and happy to chat about their travels. The host even played the Mbira for me, a Zimbabwean instrument, with such ease. The house is a cozy, traditional Japanese house with cool, unique pieces throughout that balance the space perfectly. The futon was comfortable, and there was an AC in the room too.

Très beau logement dans une maison ancienne. Ensemble très cosy. Bon petit déjeuner avec de bons produits. Hôtes très sympathiques. La salle de bain n'est pas adaptée aux frileux mais sinon tout était parfait. Merci !

Un espace commun très convivial permet de lier connaissance avec les autres hôtes.

Séjour exceptionnel ! L’endroit est très calme et reposant, avec un personnel toujours gentil et agréable, parlant même un peu français. Le petit déjeuner est équilibré et délicieux, et la décoration crée une atmosphère chaleureuse et conviviale. La plage est toute proche, et on peut même y admirer le mont Fuji le matin comme au coucher du soleil ! Je recommande vivement !

管理者們很友善，給每一位旅客自助推薦景點與食物的地圖很受用，離海邊、公車站很近，每日打掃清潔，房子非常美麗，令人印象深刻。

小小不便：沒有微波爐熱食比較不方便，但有烤箱可使用，洗衣機較老舊沒有烘衣機，附近也沒有自助洗衣店，但儘管突然下雨，他們還是馬上幫我把衣服移到有屋簷的地方，非常感謝～

Proche du bord de mer auberge très cosy et personnel sympathique. A 20mn à pied de la gare mais aussi desservie par le bus. Café et thé en libre accès et cookis à disposition. De nombreux sites à visiter. Douche bien chaude.

The guesthouse was cozy and the atmosphere was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful. It being a guesthouse means that you’re sharing a boarding with people from around the world, so it was fun to meet and have a chat with them. The lounging area was also great for that purpose.

The traditional Japanese house has a lot of charm. We appreciated the hostel’s location near the sea with a stunning view of Mount Fuji, making it ideal for relaxing and reenergizing. The staff provided attentive service, and the breakfast was an excellent way to begin the day. We strongly recommend trying the breakfast!

The only downside is that since it is an old house, the walls are very thin and everything can be heard. This needs to be considered especially when traveling with children.

Een charmante oude inn dichtbij zee. Aardige staff, koffie, thee. Gezellige gemeenschappelijke ruimte, je kan ook buiten zitten. Erg mooie traditionele tatami kamer. Het ligt rustig, maar er komt wel verkeer langs. Leuke restaurantjes in de buurt, je krijgt tips als je wil. Mooi uitzichtpunt voor Mount Fuji op 15 minuten lopen (aanrader!) Wij hebben in Kamakura ook een wijnproeverij gedaan, op loopafstand.

Je hoort het verkeer wel en ook wat er verder in de inn gebeurt, maar dat hoort erbij met rijstpapieren wanden.

Beautiful, welcoming and kind hospitality, so clean and quiet, a unique and traditional experience sleeping on futons on tatami, and the location is great in the quiet space of Kamakura near the beach, but only a couple bus stops/20 minute walk from the inner city. I would stay here again!

Good location for access to town, beach, train. All the main sites like Buddha, some Temples, hikes, and the Enoshima? Island area not far at all. Quiet area of town.

Some dorm beds are a little cramped (less than 2' wide or so). I always think access to a simple kitchen area is a plus for travelers.

The room was cozy. The beds were comfortable. The atmosphere was serene. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind and patient. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the lounge and getting to know the other travelers staying.
