Can't rate this stay highly enough - we arrived in the evening with one of our bikes broken, Muay & Aae made some space in their shed for us to work on them the next day (Aae even took us to his mechanic friend to help with bike parts!). We stayed in the double bed bungalo and it was lovely, very comfortable bed & nice bathroom surrounded by gorgeous green garden. Muay is a fantastic cook and the fresh fruit directly from her garden was delicious! We spent the rest of the trip looking for eggs as crispy as hers. We extended our stay by a day for rain & bike repair, they were very accomodating and we were glad to spend more time in such a gorgeous place with such lovely people. 10/10 would recommend! Will definitely be coming back next time. (they also had very friendly pets!)
Location and northern thai style in a nature. The owner was courteous and welcoming.
Air conditioning doesn't work that well on and off all night. We were asking for a replacing fan coz the hanging on the wall fan is making noise. Some noise woke us up around 5 in the morning, assuming it was a bat under the roof.
Very nice people who help you out every step of the way, I would strongly recommend. Don’t be afraid to ask.
Charming homestay with wonderful hosts. They lent us their bicycles for free and gave good advice about where to visit. If you are looking for a comfortable and esthetically beautiful place with an authentic Thai feel, this is for you. We were impressed with the creative design and the homemade meals.
Nothing!
The kindness, the food, the peace !
It is a great homestay! Very welcoming! They even have own restaurant with delicious food. Yammy breakfast. . Got advice about places to see around Thank you Mon and your wonderful family for showing Thai kind spirit. Truly recommend.

See you one day in this life or another.
The host was amazing! She was kind, friendly and cooked us amazing meals. She allowed my family to cook with her which was a real treat. The rooms were rustic, but nice.
We loved our room - like staying in a tree house. Fantastic big deck to sit and enjoy the breeze and the birds. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom practical. Our host Mon was just lovely. Very kind and helpful. The food we had for both dinner and breakfast was amazing!
Pillows - hard and uncomfortable.
I recently stayed at Mon Saeng Jun Homestay, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience! The property is located outside the hustle and bustle of the city, providing a quiet and serene environment that was perfect for relaxation. The bungalow was private, yet comfortably situated among other lodges, allowing for a cozy sense of community. The room was self-sufficient, equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Additionally, there was an on-site restaurant serving delicious and affordable meals, making dining convenient and enjoyable. Although the main attractions were a bit of a drive away, getting to them by car was easy. Mon, our host, truly made the experience exceptional. She was always available with helpful suggestions and eagerly arranged trips, provided directions, and even contacted transportation when needed. Her willingness to assist made us feel well taken care of during our visit. She took me to visit her temple during a festival. It was a wonderful experience and I met some o her friends who reside locally. Overall, Mon Saeng Jun Homestay is a wonderful choice for anyone looking to escape the city and enjoy a tranquil stay with the added benefit of an amazing host. Highly recommended!
It was a wonderful stay. The only thing I'd say I dislked was the distance from the airport. My flight arrived after midnight and Mon arranged for a taxi. She waited up until I arrived 2 hours later. I hated having her up so late for my arrival.
We stayed in the family room, although only 2 of us. It was huge, beautiful, peaceful and such great value for money. The owner was so lovely and her restaurant in a beautiful setting and great food.
Amazing chill environment, super friendly staff, and we loved listening to the forest sounds on the huge terrace and the food was also unforgettable
The bungalow was very cozy, quiet and well-equipped, with a view on the beautiful garden. The food (dinner and breakfast) was excellent and the owner very helpful and friendly. We felt very welcome and we will be back
Comfortable, well designed room and comfortable mattress. Friendly owner Really tasty food available for dinner at a good price Good Breakfast included The owners obviously take a lot of care with this business and look after guests very well.

The owners are very friendly. The room is very clean, and the garden is beautiful. Dinner was very good. We enjoyed our stay and will be more than happy to return if we come back this way.
We loved staying I this beautiful homestay. We were so warmly welcomed, there was a restaurant and fabulous home cooked food so reasonably priced and delicious. We wanted to stsy not far grom Chiang Mai airport before flying home and it was a perfect choice. We were so comfortable and delighted by the thought and care in the design of everything - there is craftsmanship in every detail. A beautiful home, with beautifully planted garden. Everywhere there are interesting artefacts and beautiful things. As an artist and designer we really appreciated the aesthetics which made this homestay really personal and special. The lovely owner speaks good English and was very friendly and helpful. She recommended a temple to visit which turned out to be a real highlight of our trip that we'd have otherwise missed. It is huge, a stunningly decorative complex of temples dedicated to different animals, filled with incredible colourful animal mosacs and sculptures. We felt it almost rivaled the grand palace! We loved it ( and enjoyed it far far more than Sticky waterfall which is also nearby and full of instagrammers posing in bikinis.)
Nothing
A beautiful and quiet location set amongst the gardens. As others have said the family are super friendly and provide a very good breakfast and dinner ,good home cooking and in a lovely setting. We had the triple bed bungalow which had a large and private terrace overlooking the garden which we enjoyed. This bungalow did have some steep steps up to it though which some people may find difficult ,however there are other bungalows at ground level .
The owner is an exceptional host! She's a very nice lady who even has a little restaurant on site and cooks exceptionally good Thai dishes that have that homemade feel, like your mum cooked it for you! She was also very helpful when talking about neighbourhood and yes, she speaks English quite well! The place itself, mind you, is not a resort but a nice bungalow in a garden. Don't expect luxuries but it's a super nice place to relax far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wifi is very good! You can rent a bicycle for free! (I think you can also rent a motorbike but I did not)
Nothing!
As all other comments have said, this is an amazing place. Quiet, beautiful, calm. Non-greedy owners, generous and delicious food, everything felt good. Will come back! 😋
Loved the location, the gardens and the staff. It was 20 minutes from the Sticky Waterfalls and the owner recommended we visit Wat Ban Den. We don't usually like visiting temples but we stayed almost 2 hours and it was incredible. We lay out on the huge balcony at night and watched the stars and moon, and the main bed was actually soft and comfortable 💖 Kids beds were standard Asian firm 😅. Meals took a while to be prepared, but that was because some ingredients were hand picked directly from their gardens!! It was so quiet and dark at night, we slept really well. Totally loved our stay.
Leaving
Simple accommodation and friendly
The owner is amazing, she was very helpful and made us a delicious breakfast and dinner. The place is quiet and in a beautiful area. We had great family time in the restaurant.
I come to Thailand for places like this! Lovely family taking good care of you. We had the family bungalows which was very big. At night we heard so many different jungle noises, the kids loved the experience, we booked an extra night. Clearly it is remote, we were dropped off by taxi. You can rent motorbike there if you like. We arranged via the hostess several tours with a local guy, Shantai (which I surely spelled wrong) who took us in his 4-wheel-drive to kayaking, white water raft, elephant sanctuary for a very decent price. Oh and the food is divine as others stated. Keep this place secret, don’t tell anyone how great it is ;-)
We very much liked the quietness and authenticity of the rural area in de Srilanna natural park area to begin with. But this homestay has so much more! Muai, our most friendly host with a lovely laugh, is a beautiful person, interested, helpful, amazingly skilled at cooking, and always interested in our plans and thinking ahead with us. She gave us some lovely hints about what to do in the neighbourhood, and they were all fantastic. From a visit to a neighbouring wonderfully built temple (where we were the only visitors and got invited into the abbot's office and had the honour to talk about their history with a very nice novice monk and his dad, to a fantastic bike trip on three bikes from the homestay through ricefields and local villages. We also went to Doi Lom Elephant Sanctuary, which was ethical and honourable for the rescued elephants, and very nice to visit (after texting the owner of the sanctuary picked us up and returned us for a small fee)! And every day we came back to place feeling like home: heartily, safe and clean, with very very friendly people running the homestay. And of course the house we stayed in was very clean, basic yet well provided., good airco, clean large inside shower and memorable sink and even an outer shower (private within walls). Muai even helps with local transport if needed. There are longtaews (red cabs) and other similar means of transport as well. In dutch Muai is sounding like the word 'mooi', which means 'beautiful': it truly was!
There is nothing negative about Muai's Mon Saeng Jun Homestay!
Wonderful place, quiet, peaceful in nature. We are a group of 5 friends and we had booked a double and the large family room. Unfortunately we hadn't noticed that the big one didn't have air conditioning and we arrived on an extremely hot day. Moue, the owner, suggested and gave us two triple rooms with air conditioning instead of the large one, without financial burden. Beautiful wooden small houses with local architecture. Comfortable rooms with large balconies, excellent beds and mattresses. The bathroom of a triple had an excellent design, we suggested they put pictures of it in Booking. I would book this room just for the bathroom. Good parking in front of the rooms. Strong and fast Wi-Fi in all areas. Great outdoor spaces in nature, with many options to relax alone or with friends in a shady place. Adequate and good breakfast within the price. Very good restaurant, very good food among the best we found in Thailand, freshly cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. Very good coffee. Polite and helpful staff. They covered our every need. We stayed in other rooms in the nature of Chiag Mai, this was the best and undoubtedly the only extremely clean one. Excellent value for money. If you want a stay in nature look no further, this is the best
Everything was perfect
Great location, very clean and lovely facilities. The staff was very helpful!
Was all great, a bit cold in the evening during this season, so come prepared with proper clothes for the night
Very beautiful accommodation in the middle of garden. We had a room for 3 and it was comfortable and also with large terrace. It’s quite far from services but they offer a dinner which wasn’t expensive and was tasty. With this accompaniment we were satisfied and can highly recommend.
Lovely place , very well maintained by the host.Good restaurant. My car didn't start in the morning and the host arranged for a villager to come and jump start it .Thank you so much , lovely people.
The hosts were extremely helpful and caring, thanks very much!
Nothing really. Maybe an extra shelf or board in the room might help to avoid being messy.
Everything, the staff the room the food was amazing
Quiet and relaxing , clean comfortable rooms, yummy home cooked food, great hosts
Nothing not to like a truly super place
It's a wonderful hidden place in the middle of nowhere, with a great view and very friendly owners. Thank you 😊
Moi and her family were beyond gracious hosts. From delicious meals, the best hospitality, great recommendations and inviting us to their local temple, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay! We loved their dogs as well. They live in a quaint little town with lots of farmland, and a few local restaurants/coffee shops. We rented their motorbike so we could explore a little further, which we so appreciated! They were helpful in arranging airport transport when we needed it. I absolutely recommend staying with them, and we hope to be back one day!
Nothing!
Hosts are fantastic and the place is authentic. Loved it
Absolutely charming bungalow village in a beautiful, well groomed garden. Very welcoming hostes. Excellent food and coffee. Clean and nicely decorated room.
Heating on the aircon didn't work, and it was really cold. On one of the beds, the top sheet was missing, there were only two blankets.
So clean, nice host, great bungalow and amazing Tom ka soup
Comfortable rooms with plenty of ventilation if don’t want to use aircon. Little restaurant serves very good food and staff very friendly and helpful
Beautiful property and bungalow, comfortable bed, very kind host. Amazing restaurant onsite for home made dinner (her green curry was delicious). We even got a tour of her jasmine rice farm. We loved our stay
Nothing
The family who keeps up the homestay is really welcoming, the food, drink, everything comes from the nearby farms and you can really taste and see it from the food. The cabin was beautiful and all the sides had mosquito-net doors and normal wooden doors. We kept the wooden doors open to watch the jungle night sky from the bed. I highly recommend, in Chiang Mai town every taxi and service tried to scam us but when we got to Mon Saeng Jun Homestay everything was so good. Even though we were there for 3 nights I feel like a new person. Remember to chill and enjoy. Clean, well kept, very welcoming and really had heart! Nothing negative to say! :-)
This place surprised us in a very positive way. We just needed a place to stay overnight and wished we had more time to enjoy it. Everything was great. The rooms were clean and the garden was beautiful.
Lovely little resort between Phrao and sticky waterfalls. Nice thai style huts with comfortable beds and very clean. . Lovely owners and nice food. We will be back 👌😁
Nothing.
Amazing place Beautiful quiet little village The host is very friendly ! Excellent food and coffee and great breakfast!
A most charming place! The rooms are beautiful, with a simple and delicate Thai design. The residences are located in an orchard of fruit trees, a very quiet and pleasant environment. The owner of the place is charming and a wonderful host, an excellent cook and adapted the meals to our vegan and vegetarian requests. A wonderful place to be and is only about a 15 minute drive from the "sticky waterfalls". It is highly recommended. We were sorry we had to leave. Thank you very much for the hospitality
Everything was wonderful
Look. I don't want to brag, but we have just spent 7 weeks in SE Asia. During that time we stayed in all manner of places, some good, some not so good. We booked this last minute, without much planning, pretty much because it was the only one in the area. My god, what a treat!! Stunning room, lovely setting, beautiful scenery and brilliant staff! We were made to feel really comfortable and at home right from the start and the food is absolutely incredible - made to order! Breakfast lived up to dinner and we left wishing we could have stayed a few more nights! Unbelievable value and a really memorable experience, top marks, one of the best!!
Nothing! I didn't like checking out!
We got our own little wooden houses with lots of areas in the garden to hang out. Having the little restaurant was great - it was just us 2 families so - a bit like having a hired in chef to ourselves, good food and cheap. Very friendly owner. Great base for lake and stick falls.
Food, welcome, attention, all great
It’s a great place only 15 minutes away from the Buat Tong ( Sticky) waterfalls. The stuff is super friendly and she cooks delicious food including self grown fruits from the property. They also have a resteraunt with great Thai food. The property is cozy and beautiful, with a big garden and nice accommodations, clean and well designed. It is really calm and a great place to get some rest a little away from Chiang Mai. Definitely a 11 out of 10! Thank you so much :)
The owners are very nice and friendly. We are late to check in without dinner and they would like to cook for us. We really appreciated their kindness and they cook very delicious food!!! We will like to come again if we are at Chiang Mai again.
We had a great stay! The room was great with a very comfortable bed. The place is calm and relaxing. The kitchen is super good! We can rent a scooter to go to the sticky waterfall. I recommend ! thank you for everything
/
the place with the garden, the food, the bungalow, the lady, everything was soooo great !!
nothing, everything was PERFECT
The owners are so friendly and interested in you. They cared very much. Great breakfast. Opportunity to have dinner and drinks. Beautiful and calm area with all the bungalows hidden in the beuatiful garden.
The beds were unfortunately way too hard.
everything was great in a true simple way
nothing
a perfect stay in a beautiful, peaceful surrounding. the Bungalow seems to be very new, everything is super clean and comfy (the most comfortable bed we encountered in Thailand so far), the shower, hot water at all times. wonderful, wonderful host, took care of us so much, cute dogs around, beautiful breakfast and dinner. couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant stay. thank you!
-
Amazing bungalow house in a big beautiful garden. The room is cosy and bathroom is very cool. The dinner and breakfast are delicious and the coffee is very good. The host took care of us like family and we would gladly come back here.
Lovely room. Lovely food.
Heaps of character. The bathroom blended in with the nature surroundings. Felt like we were nestled in the middle of nowhere. Perfect location to stay to visit the sticky waterfalls in the afternoon and then have somewhere close to stay the night instead of driving in the dark to Chiang Mai. Our host cooked us a fabulous dinner. My children said it was the best spaghetti bolognese they’d had in Thailand! My Thai meal was delicious.
Clean and big room. Breakfast was okay.
Comfortable to take a rest. Tasty food and good care from the staff.
K. Muy is an exceptional host. Even though we arrived quite late she even cooked us a great vegetarian dinner.
The host is very accomodating, my second stay with them, always friendly, breakfast was more like buffet than a fixed choice, we also get to choose which room we want as we are the only one staying there, they have their own small plantation, great garden with fruits, the room was surprisingly comfortable, end of the year the outside is a cool 20 degrees and we had a great get together and talked till late night, quiet farm, beautiful night sky.
Have to climb the stairs to the family room, but it was my own choice, no fault of the hotel. Summer insect noise will be louder but our stay in december was blisfful.
We stayed overnight after visiting the sticky waterfalls as it's only 20 minutes away. The owner was welcoming and is an amazing cook; we ordering several dishes from the menu for dinner and all were delicious! We stayed in the family room with a terrace and it was huge! There were 3 separate rooms and enough space for 6 people to sleep. Wifi was great, no air conditioning but the fans were sufficient in keeping the rooms cool the whole time. There is a small convenience store nearby, and a few small eateries, but aside from that it feels secluded and peaceful.
