Reviewed Aug 23, 2025The hotel is in a tranquil area, about a 10 minute walk from the main plaza. Because of this, it is very quiet. The property is relatively new, and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Our room was impeccably clean. We had both a couch and small table - both of which are so rare these days, but they totally make the space more livable (e.g. you don't need to sit on the bed while you're planning your next day). Breakfast was very pleasant and sufficient. There are several small local restaurants within a minute of the hotel, and many more near the main plaza. VdL is very charming, and it's not just a tourist destination... there is a vital local population, and restaurants that cater to locals (which of course are happy to have tourists too). We enjoy finding small restaurants and using our Spanish (and this is increasingly hard in some over touristed areas).
Nothing - everything was fine. We only had one night, and wished we had at least one more.

Reviewed Feb 15, 2025Loved everything about this beautiful hotel! Everything was perfect. The staff were very professional and polite. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The colonial house setting was truly special and super gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice it is much more beautiful in person. The view of the mountains from the balcony was incredibly beautiful. So much peace and beauty everywhere you look. It felt like a 5star experience overall! The town is also stunning and felt very safe even walking late at night. The hotel being located close to the main Plaza but not in it was perfect. Can't wait to go back! Thank you!!

Reviewed Jan 18, 2025We had an amazing time at Maria Bonita. The staff was very kind and helpful and always attentive to our every need, outstanding! We would wake up, open the curtains and just look at the mountains, very beautiful. The bed and the shower were excellent as well as the massage we took. The room is spacious and there is peace and quiet because the hotel is located outside of the city center. It's just a short walk to the plaza. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family!!!
