Location was great for what I needed
Was hot in the rooms - with windows open noisy late at night with people drunk coming out of the pubs - brekki was ok but can’t cook poached eggs - turned out boiled eggs
Brekfast was very good
Nothing
Amazing hotel, wonderful staff, gorgeous decor and the breakfast was fantastic.
Absolutely nothing, it’s perfect
Stunning rooms, clean, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast was lovely, central location Special thank you to Amy for being so helpful and accommodating during our stay last weekend, she was fabulous!

Might be helpful to put somewhere that the car park is round the back!
The front of house staff were really friendly and accommodating. They sorted out an issue with our bedroom, exceeding our expectations by giving us a second room free of charge. During a busy evening in the restaurant we were given a table and regularly updated on our order. Both meals, evening and breakfast, were of outstanding quality.
Service charge on evening meal bill.
Breakfast OK, not great
Check out without contactless and Apple Pay is unacceptable these days. Embarrassing for the staff and the customer
Loved this place! Gorgeous rooms, great location and staff very friendly Breakfast was fantastic!

We have stayed here before and all the staff are very pleasant room very clean bed comfortable

The location is great, the room we had has been done out since we where there last with an added chair. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast was nice.
The bed was a bit bouncy so every time one of us move you woke up .
Location Staff
Food was average. We had 2x breakfasts & Sunday dinner, both of which were ok. Nothing special. Wouldn’t go for the food. Several pairs of underpants were left in a drawer from a previous guest. Milk in the fridge was ‘off’.
the tv in our room didn't work no offer of a discount despite the fact it didn't work for the whole weekend
Lovely breakfast, great location, plenty of free parking.
Everything was great.
Great hotel. Lovely rooms. Friendly staff. Great location
Rooms are stunning, and exceptionally clean. The bath was an added bonus.

Whole setting
The cleanliness of the hotel was fantastic. The staff so friendly. The food was superb.
Nothing I can think of
Easy access to M6
My room was noisy, overlooking the road. New double glazing required :-(
Everything especially my room No 16. Would love to request it next time I visit. However now I have said that everyone will want it.
Absolutely nothing, great stay, great staff and lovely little town
The staff here were all so super and lovely. And then included breakfast was amazing. My partners father is actually from Sandbach so it was amazing to be able to be back seeing it for the first time in 37 years - and what an a gorgeous village it is
Our room had a bit of a funny smell which may just have been the water, and the shower doesn’t have a door on it so the floor does get a little wet. But honestly that is being super picky to answer the question.
Unusual

We did ask for a quiet room which we didn't get. No explanation was offered and to be fair we didn't say anything.
Good menu both breakfast and dinner. Room comfortable. Location ideal.

The hotelbis well laid out. Breakfast was excellent. Staa very good!
Noisy bar opposite our room
Gorgeous hotel, super cosy beds and lovely staff!
Great location, easy to find. Immaculately maintained, the information booklet is the best you can get. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Great value a real gem
Perhaps a lift would be a bonus

Both our room and wet room were spotless, with excellent facilities provided. A relaxed atmosphere throughout and friendly, efficient and helpful staff at all times. Everything seemed to have been well planned to make guests’ stay as comfortable as possible.
Bearing in mind the hot weather, we very much appreciated the air conditioning downstairs in the public areas. But we could have done with a fan in our room, as it was very warm there in the afternoon!
Real milk in the fridge.
For 2 people the room was very tight. With the heat to much bedding!
The old hotel has been beautifully renovated. Our room was spacious with a wonderful modern bathroom, small fridge, robes, etc. We ate breakfast and dinner for 2 days. Good food and very friendly staff.
Sandbach was a stop on our way to Keswick. We didn't find much to see or do there although we did enjoy a long walk along the canal with the locks.
Friendly staff throughout, nice dinner menu and excellent choices at breakfast
Slight musty smell when entering room but not overpowering and certainly didn't spoil our stay
Great position in the centre of Sandbach Every member of staff was ultra helpful and professional, fantastic breakfast , very comfortable and spacious room ,ample free secure off street parking I highly recommend this hotel
.
Staff were very welcoming, friendly and professional. Very lovely terrace, good beers and wine served and used the restaurant for our evening meal. Food very nice. Parking was free and covered by cctv. Room and bed very comfortable.
An observation. My wife is visually impaired therefore this would be unique however the lighting on the stairs on the top floor could be improved as the top step is indented into the landing.
Always excellent used for our corporate booking s close to town restaraunts and bars just gorgeous

The hotel was well located just off the M6 so perfect for an overnight stay on our way north. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was good quality

Food and service were great, for dinner, bar and breakfast. Restaurant and bar had great air con. Top location in town centre. Lovely shady courtyard outside to enjoy a cocktail.
Food and service were great. It was a stinking hot night, 90 Fahrenheit plus and high humidity, unfortunately we were in a room at the top of the hotel. The team organised an additional fan which helped a lot. The room would have received top marks in the comfort category if it had air con as good as in the restaurant, but appreciate it is difficult in a historic building. Tight and busy hotel parking in the town centre, at 4pm. The car park was for the public as well as guests, luckily we managed to nab a space, but would have been an issue if we’d been much later arriving.
Comfortable rooms and lovely bar and restaurant
Nothing
Staff were lovely, food was delicious and the room was comfortable and clean
The only thing that let it down was the fact I had to clean the shower drain as it was soooo clogged up that the shower was flooding the bathroom floor, I did pass this information onto the staff and they said they would speak with the manager and cleaners about it.
The facilities were great and the Breakfast was lovely

Great location in centre of Sandbach and walkable for our purposes . Room was excellent. Very clean, comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Fridge in room had a jug of water inside and some fresh milk for tea/coffee which was a nice touch and better than long life milk sachets (although I couldn’t work out the hot water so never made the tea in the end)
My room overlooked the road so a couple of times I could hear lorries or vans but on the whole it was fairly quiet and didn’t bother me too much.
Clean and trendy
Nice room good breakfast choices. Coffee machine a definite.bonus.
Nothing
Staff couldn't have been friendlier, fantastic service. Food was excellent from evening meal to breakfast, couldn't fault anything. It was scorching hot (31 Degrees C) so the air conditioning in the bar/restaurant was very welcome. The suite was really nice and the balcony was a great addition
The 'his n hers' basins in the bathroom weren't the best because one had the metal plug jammed in so was unuseable, it obviously had been like this for a while. This is an easy fix The shower drains very slowly so flooding the bathroom if we didn't turn off the shower periodically.
Really comfortable and homely
Just about our room it was noisy from the bar outside
Breakfast was good excellent service The young lady that served in evening was particularly good and food was excellent
.
Beautiful room and fabulous breakfast.
All the staff that we met were friendly and helpful. Food plentiful especially breakfast. Everywhere was clean, our room was comfortable. The wheatsheaf is a place you can relax either by meeting friends or just to sit in the bar with a drink and read a book.
The drinks menu didn’t list prices, cocktails for example were not priced which was disappointing.
Good rooms, staff really friendly and very competent. Breakfast excellent. Definitely stay again and would certainly recommend it.
The hotel decor is beautiful. Very clean and luxurious. The signature room we had was lovely. Staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Food was also great in the restaurant, really tasty. We will definitely stay again when over in Sandbach.

Comfortable room which was very clean. . Excellent choice at breakfast, and the quality was superb. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff made the visit exceptional.
I would have liked there to have been hair conditioner supplied in the bathroom
Room 16 was next to a busy road. It kept me awake on and off all night and would not stay there again. And v unusual for a 4-5 star hotel not to take Amex and also not to take contactless. Not a huge problem but strange (I don’t normally take cards these days) Otherwise lovely place and food was good
Even though we arrived late, there was someone there to greet us after our long drive. Rooms super, breakfast excellent and staff incredibly friendly. Would happily stay again.
You would really have to try very hard indeed to find something wrong. We liked everything!
All the staff are so good, the hotel is outstanding and we loved our room and all the meals. it is not the first time we have stayed here and will not be the last. thank you so much for making our stay so beautiful. see you all again soon.
Next time do not let us leave. you could have locked the door so we stayed longer. I am so looking forward to booking again soon, thank you to all the staff.
Upgraded to a luxury room. Very spacious, comfortable and sparklingly clean! Coffe machine and water in the room was a lovely bonus. Staff were all very helpful and accommodating.
The room (16) was on a main road, that was a bit noisy. Not really a problem, but not what we are used to.
We stayed overnight for a party locally
Conveniently place for a party in wheelock
breakfast is always lovely, dinner was very nice
please can you put some hooks on the back of the doors would be very handy !
Great location, friendly staff, very comfortable bedroom, excellent food
Friendly staff, decent meal, comfy bed with a good shower. Location ideal when travelling north on the M6 and needing a mid way stop from the south coast.
Lots of road noise as very close to it, toiletries in bathroom hadn't been refreshed and no hand soap. No bath after room category showed there would be one and paid extra.
Great interior extremely clean and great food fabulous staff

Love the hotel the breakfast is to die for , the staff are exceptional happy and polite and do go above and beyond to help you. Unfortunately for us we didn’t test the pillows unless we went to bed and it was too late. We love it being central and it great doing a pub crawl , playing darts in the Lion , playing pool with the local in the Tavern, and quick snack and great beer and prices in the George Wetherspoons,
The pillows are rock hard so didn’t get any sleep , Also to bare in mind the double is double so if your use to having a larger bed , this is not suitable , we wanted a twin?
Excellent stay lovely room

Nice cosy room, staff were great and food was delicious
Lovely building and decor. Lots of character. Plenty of parking. Good location in the centre of town. Good restaurant. Filling breakfast.
Lots of steps up to Room 9.
The restaurant & food
The WiFi in my room was extremely poor - non existent. The annoying thing was when I questioned it the team knew - they were aware. So why put me a single, male business traveller in the room?
Beautiful place to stay, right in the centre of Town with lots to see and do. The whole staff were friendly and so professional. I stay in a lot of hotels on business and pleasure and I would rate this one of the best I’ve ever stayed in.
Only small detail is the bed was two single beds pushed together which was a little strange
Great spacious, well laid out room, king-sized, comfortable bed, lovely food and good breakfast, well positioned, parking excellent.
Nothing, all good.
Very nice
Lovely touches of old with a modern twist
Gorgeous room Very clean, great location
Nothing
Well located just off the M6 - part a small group that is doing a great job - the menu covers the basses - the Duck Dish alone is worth the journey
Location and staff
No negative at all
Breakfast was very good. High quality ingredients cooked well.
The coffee/tea machine is over complicated and does not produce hot drinks. The windows in our room would not open and therefore fresh air was in short supply. We appreciate that the building is probably listed but may be a bit more creative on maintenance
Friendly staff Nice decor Offered room service Great heating
The only thing i would have liked was a kettle instead of the coffee pod machine. I dont want to take time learning how to use. Just boil a kettle
Room was lovely and bed very comfortable. It was so nice to have a bathroom with plenty of space to put my various wash bags etc! Security was go, important as a solo female guest.
Breakfast was a disappointment. Staff seemed unsure and not well trained. I wasn’t shown where everything was,my table lacked cutlery and I had to seek out staff on numerous occasions to get served.
Staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating. We travelled for a friends 40th birthday. We asked for some balloons etc to be out into the room ahead of our friends arrival which staff were able to accommodate (we supplied the decorations). Staff were also accommodating of a dining reservation and where we preferred to sit to dine. Good experience.
The room although was mostly of good cleanliness did have noticeable cobwebs in the light fitting and the bathroom floor was wet when we checked into our room. The water pressure was also poor to the point the sink tap and the shower cut out several times whilst using. We did mention this to staff when we checked out.
The whole building was excellent, loved the decor.
Location perfect. Staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast spot on.
All good.
Arrived at the hotel had a warm friendly welcome and the ambience of the hotel was stunning. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We really enjoyed our stay.
Sign for the way to reception would benefit being bigger for customers to see. Scrambled eggs needed more cooking but that's my preference.
Lovely comfortable room and spotless bathroom. Staff very helpful and breakfast tasty
Finding the carpark
Breakfast. The Wheatsheaf is a pleasant, unassuming hotel with particularly friendly staff and good breakfasts. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I am no expert on UK hotel prices, but the cost has always seemed reasonable to me. We booked it - on this occasion and previously - primarily because of the location; it is within walking distance of my 96-year old mother's flat.
There is little to dislike. I consider the Wheatsheaf to be good value for money. Maybe they could have offered us a free glass of champagne on arrival ... ;-).
