Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Spacious twin room, with two half decent sized, comfortable beds. Great location if you are catching the National Express bus to the airport, with coffee shops and supermarkets close by also. Excellent WiFi connection.
The shower was in the bath, which quickly filled up with water as the drains were blocked. So the shower left you feeling rather icky.
Comfortable bed.
Needs some tlc.
We enjoyed playing pool in the evening and the location was convenient for walks in the New Forest.
Unfortunately our room was so slanted that one of us had to sleep in the opposite direction so that our head wasn’t below our feet. We could also hear a lot of noise from other guests using the stairs and it sounded like there were rats or mice scurrying above us. The room was very hot so it was overall one of the worst sleeps I’ve had in a long time.
Location
Room outdated and small and with a stupid thing on the wall to hang clothes in but is dangerously positioned and almost impossible to get into bed without hitting it.
Really good breakfast. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Nice big on site free car park
Nothing to do with the hotel but there is a building site next door so there was a bit of early morning noise. Plus on the same morning the bins were collected very early, not too much of an issue but the bins made a hell of a racket as they were wheeled over the cobblestone driveway and loaded on the lorry right under my window.
Everything was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
Nothing
We didn't have breakfast, and we ate out in the evening.
Good location.
It was so quiet couldn’t eat dinner there. A nice Italian restaurant across the street.
Comfortable beds.
Lack of facilities.
The location
As always in Europe small bathroom sink. With shelf right above it
The new managers were excellent Location
Place needs major overhaul. Showers hard to gain access in baths accident waiting to happen Furniture in bedroom antiquated. Windows hardly open. Spend some money on it it’s a lovely building. Rooms based outside the pub are in terrible state.. stairs to gain access to the rooms are in terrible condition and the rooms you can hardly move in as we were first given one of these but had to get it changed
The building
Everything was brilliant ,the pub the staff the area , just as described , a perfect weekend stay .We are returning at the end of August it was that good.
nothing
A big bath
Old outdated room, light fittings loose, sash window propped open with a bit of cord that when removed, slammed shut on my partners hand, just really shabby and a feeling that the hotel couldn't care less. Paying well over £100 per night for a room doesn't even get you the basics nowadays
As a reputable corporate company I had reasonable expectations of a £100 a night room in Marston Inn hotel and the website pictures of rooms looked quite nice. OMG probably the mankiest hotel room I’d ever stayed in. Room was tiny, barely big enough for the bed and as long as the duvet was not overhanging the bed, you could open the bathroom door to the filthy dated bathroom complete with stained plastic toilet seat, shower that barely worked and bath that looked like it had never been cleaned. Added to this a gloriously stained single mug, an equally filthy glass and 1 towel. Room was at the back of the property in an annex block, overlooked a building site and derelict car park and was last painted in 70s I recon. These are not the rooms in the website and when it became apparent the space below the room was also the staff smoking area, we just left. We would have told someone about it but no one around Sunday morning and you bet we didn’t pay for the additional breakfasts to further test the hygiene of the place. A disgrace at £100 / night, minimum 2 night stay and break fast extra.
Just don’t stay there.
Big spacious room with super king-size bed .amazing mattress. Also full size bath and shower. Plenty of hot water.

Good location. Comfortable bed.
The glasses in the room were not clean. The bin in the bathroom was not emptied prior to our stay.....it was filled with rubbish from previous people.
Staff and breakfast.
Room needed updating.
Good basic stay
Nothing
Brilliant staff, nice clean comfortable rooms. Good food. Just about everything . Great location and the fact that this is a real old pub.
It was all great.
Everything we needed for our tay was immediately to hand. staff very friendly and helpful. Beds extremely comdortable!
Not much
Reception unfriendly and officious
Convenient for the local shops and restaurants
Parking when the market was open
Clean rooms.
Breakfast options before 10
Spacious room, everything you needed, good location , easy parking. Nothing was too much for the staff. The staff in the bar were amazing and the food was great.
Nothing at all, could have been done with a mini fridge to keep some water cold as it was very warm when we came.
Friendly staff, easy parking, comfortable massive bed clean, availability of a fan .
Nothing , but could have done with a small cooler fridge to keep water cold as we stayed in very hot weather.
Staff exceptionally helpful.
Didn’t bother us but the fabric of the building needs some maintenance.
Good budget stay. I would book again for an overnight stay. Wifi, hot water, TV, gentleman behind the bar were friendly and helpful.
Just needs freshening up a bit, decor, bath.
The location was the only benefit!
The room was very dusty especially the carpet and the wardrobe. Also when we bought booked in the one of the staff informed us we could not use their carpark until 2pm (we got there at 13.40) so had to wait!! This is not good customer care! Also I had to ask about the key location after their closing times as this also was not explained to us. Finally the temperature was very hot in the room, so had to leave all the windows open during the night, there was no fan given to us.
Hotel staff very accommodating and welcoming great location
The fact that booking .com offered and I exceped a room upgrade to which the hotel does not offer upgrades, as all standard rooms the same and then only family rooms, so paid for upgrade that does not exist ,so money taken on false pretence, very unhappy with booking .com.will not use again as this is ,to me a scam to take money on false pretence not at all happy with them, luckily hotel was pleasant experience.would book ourselves again direct.
Location was good
Closed at 10pm and wasn't allowed to use bar facilities. Was told at breakfast it was too early for a glass of coke. Really hot in room with no fan and window partially opened as had screws in frame to stop it opening. Really poor night's sleep
Great location breakfast was good nice bar and staff were really helpful
nothing to change the
Location was great, bed was comfortable. Free parking for guests.
The window frames in room were rotten, difficult to safely open windows. The toilet didn't flush well. Outside metal staircase to the room was steep and had damaged wooden handrail. Breakfast was not warm, croissant uncooked in the middle. We didn't feel it was worth what we paid for it and was the first time we've been disappointed with a property booked with Booking.com.
Easy to use for traveling
The place needs updating T L C . Very nice old building
Window wouldn't close and hot water wasn't working 😕 apart from that all good.
Nothing
No food, bar closed early, one member of sraff rude and unhelpful. Manager awful. No hot water. Beer was off
Really comfy bed and excellent Full English Breakfast. Free parking at the rear and the WiFi worked well
I had booked the room on Booking.com and I always book a rate that includes breakfast but they still tried to charge me extra for the breakfast I had already paid for.
Ok
Ok
Breakfast ok
There was no hot water in the room
Very friendly staff. A varied menu was on offer, quite adequate for a meal when arriving if required. The room was pretty quiet (after closing time!) and I had a reasonable nights sleep. I did not require breakfast in the morning so cant comment. The free parking was welcome touch as more and more places charge for this now days
This was probably the pokiest room I've ever stopped in (room No.15) and I had to slide into the even pokier bathroom sideways as the door only opens by a few foot before it hits the bed...and I'm not that big! The room should really have a single bed and be sold as such. Just as well I was travelling on my own. The room was 'tired' but probably as clean as you could expect given there's no room to swing a vacuum cleaner or mop. Overall I don't think the £120 charge was good value for money
Everything
No air con In rooms
It’s location
It was a very tired place. Our room was very small for a twin. One chair for 2 people. One plug socket. Bedside light not working. Light above mirror in bathroom not working properly. Kitchen closed at 8:00pm without any warning.
Good location, good bed, clean room.
Very tired and in need of updating.
Central location. Ground floor room. Cleverly solved the issue of the shower curtain sticking to you. Large comfy bed with pristine white linen.
Hanging facility in room which I bumped my shoulder on. Suggest a more sleek and modern facility that doesn't impede getting into bed. Too much clutter on a small table along with tea & coffee making facilities. This could be a wall mounted unit which then frees up floor space. Bedside lamps had no shades and types of bulbs did not match.
As I think everyone that is in Bournemouth is well aware of the traffic that was there day and night it was very hard to book a hotel. The whole of Bournemouth was booked out. I have a one year-old baby and I went to the door to my room and that was greeted by a man who said I was an hour late for checking and refuse me and turned me away with my baby from the door. I was left in the middle of Bournemouth with nowhere to go. I begged them please can you just give me my key? I’ve paid it did not say anything on the website that I had to be in for that time And he said read the small print and shut the door in my face with my baby in my arms.

Goid location for a base when playing local golf courses
N/a
Bed comfort was a positive and the parking space being convenient and secure.
Upkeep of the fixtures and furnishings was neglectful at best and borderline dangerous in the case of a bedside lamp that seemed to brighten or dim depending on what must have been undampened surges of power from its ancient socket arrangement
The location is perfect. Right in the town centre. Parking is very convenient
The bedroom was very small but adequate. The staff weren't particularly friendly.
A simple room, but fine for what we needed. We liked that is was not in the main building. Your own frontdoor! Lovely instant hot water from the tap in the basin. Free parking!
The shower was awkward to use and the plug for the basin did not work well. Wasting water.
Breakfast we had a light breakfast as requested.
Room was clean. Breakfast was fine.
Room was SMALL. We was expecting a bigger room based in the online pictures. Bathroom was a small, and dated.
Good location.
The pub / hotel looked very tired. The whole place needs a refurbishment. My room was very tiny and did not have air conditioning. It would be very hot in the summer!
Welcoming staff on arrival and later at the bar. Room was large, roomy and bed comfortable. Wardrobe difficult to access due to opening next to bed. Shower didn't work, but bath did. Good free parking.
Menu restricted to thoroughly unhealthy food. Even the salads weren't a healthy option. Difficulty in finding any staff at breakfast time.
Friendly staff, Clean room, tea, coffee etc, quiet location
Nothing to mention
Not much.
Poor room, windows did fit, paint peeling off wood work. Stairs to room were rotten.
Friendly staff.
Nothing in particular
Great location, staff were lovely, towels and linen were spotless, bed was comfortable. Nice to have kettle, milk tea and coffee in the room also had iron and hair dryer, shower gel and liquid soap.
The rooms are shabby and very much in need of a refurbishment. My sash window opened a few inches then wouldn’t close. The corridor to the rooms had a disgusting smell that got worse as the day went on. We had to buy a sense and spray air freshener to mask the awful smell. The door panel on my wardrobe was hanging off . Two of the drawers had missing handles( they were inside the drawer ). The outside window ledge had layers of flaky white worn off paint and were almost rotten through. The ceiling light needed 2 bulbs replacing. All these things could have been easily rectified by an odd job man in a couple of hours but had obviously been ignored for ages as I had read the comments from other guests on bookings.com and trip advisor.
Nothing
Everything i didn't stay went somewhere else didn't get a reply from venue
Great place to stay in centre of Ringwood. The staff were amazing and so was the food. Great value for money.
Nothing
We had a lovely 3 night stay, lovely room, friendly staff, excellent breakfasts and evening meals, great parking. We never stay anywhere else when in Ringwood.
Nothing, except for leaving!
Die Unterkunft war sauber. Der Parkplatz befindet sich hinter dem Haus und ist kostenlos. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und der Burgee wirklich sehr lecker. Das Frühstück war typisch englisch und gut. Check out unkompliziert und Check-In ebenso.
Sollte es für jemanden wichtig sein: Im Bad befindet sich eine Badewanne mit hohem Einstieg und keine Dusche. Demnach nichts für Menschen mit Bewegungseinschränkung.
Nice pub attached
Little bit dated accommodation
Not much
There was a flood in my room 3 men in the next room were taking cocaine all night n shouting I got no sleep
Breakfast wasn't served on time. Didn't accept Scottish pound notes Lightsa in room were malfuntioning
The room was nice, clean and functional, with tea pot and a small table and with a nice pub within it.
We were happy overall, the only think that would make it better is a little more space. Personally in the room where we stayed i would push the bed into the corner to leave more space at the entrance of the room for the luggage, coats shoes etc.
Great location
Great location for wedding we attended. Comfortable bed and friendly helpful staff.
I booked 3 rooms but one was a bit on the small side but fine for one person.
Food good staff friendly and helpful.
We stayed in a small cabin outside in a separate building behind the pub. Building in poor state of repair.
Good price, perfectly nice establishment
They didn't check my car into the car park, and so I got a fine, and they have since ignored my messages and failed to call me back, hence the fine cost has increased and since been escalated. Really REALLY poor behaviour.
Location near to wedding venue. Comfortable bed. Good food.
I booked 2 rooms but one was quite small.
Staff were great, breakfast amazing. Room was clean and well appointed although a little tired.
Room needs redecorating and furniture replaced.
Location to our venue
Very noisy at night

Cleanliness
Food great...rooms lovely...staff friendly
Perfect location in central Ringwood but other than that, only OK.
Breakfast was quite disappointing, I could get vegan sausages but the hash browns had egg in them, which for a potato based treat, could easily be without egg. Staff at breakfast were quite brusque and we had to wait outside past 8am for the doors to be opened for us and only after lots of banging on windows to be let in. It stated from 8am so people were ready as we all had busy days to head off to. Room was OK and clean but away from the main building which I wasn't aware of and being an older single female I did feel a little scared staying in and would rather have been in the main building.
Hone grim home
The room was good away from inside the pub
Staff were helpful.
Good location and comfortable bed.
Nothing
Decent parking private entrance to room big bed
The pub was tired and unwelcoming. The original room i was offered was a broom cupboard. I decided not to stay the night but came back for the breakfast I had paid for which was appalling. Staff were OK but you could tell they were unmotivated working in a poor environment

Small step in bedroom that was obscured by bed which caused me to have a fall
Bed comfortable room needed a good clean decor tired basic coffee facilities in room. The room was cheap so not to expect anything else. Staff great parking no issue . Food was basic presentation needs attention. Booking app for breakfast does not work and cannot be cancelled but you can order when you arrive so bypass the app.
The pub is tiered needs an upgrade and some help to reorganise their staff presentation and attention to details. Will there be any interest to do this as ringwood is slightly run down town and is feeling the economic pinch.
Food Was Great, Staff Were the best and very friendly, room was small but had all amedites needed.
The small room was a bit cramped.
Sold beer
Weird blokes behind bar
Our double bedroom was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was first class
Nothing to dislike
