A stunning place to stay and decompress after the excitement of Jon Bon Jovi in Croke Park. The courtyard room was fabulous, the bar range was exceptional, Hermione’s delightful and breakfast was superb. Exploring the grounds is a must, rose garden and woodland walk to looking at the sculptures of the former “wizard” of Kilkea.

Please put more information on the history of the castle and grounds, burial ground, and sculptures we met a lovely local who was dining who took us to spot a few gems

That we were put in the carriage rooms not in the castle itself. Couldn’t find how to book it or figure out there was a difference when I booked . I wanted to sleep in the castle

Breakfast was good quality, but surprisingly the orange juice was not freshly squeezed,

Bed was quite small. There was a lot of late night noise from other guests ( wedding guests at 3 a.m.)

It’s a fantastic place.

We were not put in a room in the castle which was disappointing but I wasn’t aware and it wasn’t clear how to book the room inside. Our room was very beautiful but I don’t know how they pick and choose where to put people.

The location, the rooms, food and staff were all very good.

The bed was a bit to hard for our personal taste.

Castle was beautiful, clean, excellent staff, lots of wonderful amenities. Amazing stay and food was great.

Ireland rarely (if ever) requires air conditioning. And I would not expect an ancient castle to have AC. But we happened to be there during the only heat wave of the year and the rooms were very hot. If you are the type of person that requires AC at all costs, call them first to see if they have it in any of the rooms. But very unlikely that you'd need it anyway.

An absolutely beautiful location, like living out a dream. Now we can check staying at a castle off our bucket list. The castle is magical as are the grounds, which include gardens , a stream, and an ancient graveyard. You can’t go wrong choosing to stay at Kilkea and the breakfast is not to be missed!

Bad castle renovation with 1960s light fixture and broken okra looking furniture in a really small room. Only pretty from the outside.

Had to leave early before they served breakfast, said they would organise a breakfast bag to go, very poor considering we paid for a full breakfast. Couple mini factory danish, a yogurt and a banana. Just think more effort could have taken place.

We had a wonderful stay at Kilkea Castle. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond by providing us with complimentary connecting rooms of a higher category than we had booked. The archery and billiards facilities were a great addition and helped make our family stay even more enjoyable.

One area for improvement would be communication regarding breakfast arrangements. During our stay, the breakfast location had been moved from the restaurant on the grounds to the castle itself, but we were not informed in advance, so we had to walk back after arriving at the usual venue. In addition, the breakfast service was quite slow, which made the experience less enjoyable than it could have been.

We loved staying in a real castle. It was a gift for my daughter’s 10th birthday. They have so many activities to entertain tweens that she was entertained from the moment we arrived until we left.

We loved spending the night in a "castle!" Room was beautful, quiet and quaint. We were able to go into the gardens and enjoy the sunset with a drink from the bar. It was a magical stay.

The entire place was magical but, honestly, the staff were the crowning glory. So pleasant and friendly and helpful, in every area of the hotel.

Wonderful stay at a beautiful castle! We only had one night here, but it was exactly what we were hoping for. Super friendly staff. We had dinner reservations and the prix fixe tasting menu was fabulous. With four people traveling and four options for each course, we were able to try everything which was great! Breakfast was lovely with an assortment of pastries, hot coffee and plenty of additional menu options. Our room was clean and spacious, bed was comfy and the bathroom was updated. The common areas in the castle offer plenty of lovely seating options for small groups and are a great place to wind down with a drink from the bar. The golf course and grounds are perfectly kept. Would absolutely stay here again!

Our room was very comfortable, but the carpet in the living area of the room we stayed in could probably be replaced. That is the ONLY thing I would suggest and is certainly not a deal breaker. Otherwise, we absolutely loved this experience!

We loved the location , the castle was stunning and the beautiful gardens were very well kept , We loved the activities centre and how friendly natacha was the lady looking after us, she was so friendly, breakfast was delicious and so were the cocktails

The bathroom was a little bit small and not much room to put my creams and make up near the mirror , the service in hermoines restaurant the first night was very poor , we has to go up to the bar and get our own drink because none of the waiting staff came over. The second night service was brilliant , but this restaurant may not be run by the hotel as its part of the golf course, staff in the hotel at breakfast were exceptional

Gorgeous property! We did the falcon experience, escape room, and ate dinner on the property. Watch the sunset from the rear patio bar. Everyone was wonderful we would definitely stay again.!

Spa and internal heat room was lovely

TV kettle and coffee machine didn't work. The food in 1860 was not great. Portions were too small for price quoted.

The staff throughout the hotel couldn't do enough to ensure my stay was comfortable and attention to detail was as expected and more. Well done team Kilkea Castle.....take a bow.
