Super peaceful with great nature walks

Was für eine tolle Unterkunft. Derr Empfang war nach der langen Reise sehr herzlich und nett. Anschliessend war alles sehr Familier-Professionell. Das ganze Team war sehr aufmerksam. Essen, Unterkunft, Pool, Game Drive einwandfrei.

Wonderful paradise in the middle of nowhere - exactly what we needed and really enjoyed our stay. Most welcoming staff, excellent facilities, lots of activities, comfortable beds, lovely food and the list goes on...

The "road" there - specifically when you are coming from the Esst via R400 can be quite rough depending on your vehicle. Much less of an issue coming from the West.

KOEDOESKOP is an absolute gem! Our experience was incredible! From the moment we arrived, the welcome, helpfulness,friendliness, kindness, and professional manner in which Nicky and her team cared for us was an A+ experience! Our accommodation was perfect, with so much thoughtfulness to 'the little things'. We were truly spoilt by the high standard of service that we received. Our game drive with Niel and Patrick was truly memorable! Excellent guides and beautiful viewing. Bianca and her colleagues were super sweet and so caring. Thank you for making our visit with our Canadian friends truly remarkable!

Maybe additional fans on the patio and interior of the lodge. I really have to think hard on any improvements.

Already at the welcome the whole team was there for a warm reception. During my whole stay the service was frist-class and full of awareness. Also with my special diet everything was great. The meals where quite much and deliciuos - and you can always step into the kitchen for a talk. The equipment was more then complete and the pool had a wonderful temperature. The surrounding is just incredible and also the game drive was astonishing! As this is Southafrica and a a "bit" abroad it is clear that there is no highway until the gardendoor - but it is very good reachable.

Lovely place with lots of special touches. We only stayed overnight, but we're treated like royalty. Exceptional staff. Lovely dinner, we will definitely stay longer next time and explore the 4x4 game routes

Excellent accommodation and breakfast, Host worked extremely hard to provide comfort/food, other staff also very good. Remoteness, need to inform host to prepare meal orders.

Expected more wildlife, given long walk through gorge - infrequent culling seems to impacted their approachability. Still vistas were spectacular. Gravel road in to property long and rough.

If you are looking for an intimate and personalised nature reserve experience, Koedoeksop is the right place for you. The staff, headed by Nikki, were phenomenal and tended to our every need, from making scrumptious homemade breakfasts and dinners served on the verandah to taking us on an informative guided game drive that included a picnic in the wild. We also saw many different types of buck, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, and warthogs. And, since it was my mother's birthday while we were there, Nikki even baked a delicious complimentary birthday cake for her on the day. During our stay, we were the only visitors, so everything felt like we were in our own home away from home. There is also a pool to cool down on hot summer days, which we made use of.

The staff was so welcoming and it really felt like home. The food was delicious and the staff took their time in making us utmost welcome.

Fresh farm Eggs, fresh bread and cheeses, cannot get any better. Sitting on the veranda looking at the mountains and with Impala and Ostrich walking around.

A gravel road let us to a paradise of kindness, relaxing atmosphere and beautiful nature. The staff was exquisite. Nikki, Neal, Patrick and Bianca made us feel like a king and queen. From the moment we arrived they took care of our every need. Originally we booked only one night at Koedoeskop, but when we arrived, we changed our plans immediately so that we could stay two nights. The food is also really nice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all great and more than sufficient. You can taste the freshness of the meal. The rooms are really pretty and everything is super clean. The owners did a wonderful job choosing everything with eye for detail. You have everything you need in the room. Really nice pool too and a very cosy fire place. You can go into the nature reserve on your own or a member of the staff goes with you as a guide or does a game drive with you. It’s really beautiful. If you really want to get to know South Africa, this is the place to be for an amazing and one of a kind experience. It really is a paradise on earth where you can relax and enjoy nature. Special thanks to the staff to make us feel at home.

The roadsigns leading up to the Reserve, and a better description of the location on the website would be helpful, we came from the Netherlands and the GPS in our rental didn't work correctly.

The quite the friendly staff, the experience,everything was exceptional

The fact that it was in the middle of nature away from the normal day to day rush. There was no phone reception and only one spot where you can connect to Wi-Fi which make it awesome it actually teaches people to speak to each other instead of sitting on the phone all day

A small little tuckshop would’ve been nice but no complaints

The property is in a beautiful surrounding. The lodge has an outdoor swimming pool which was great for the hot days. the backup power and light is a good thing considering the current load shedding issues the country is facing. the supper was great and the sunsets amazing

There are a crazy amount of animal heads (trophies) in the main dining room, and although I personally don’t have an issue with this, some people might absolutely hate it making their stay unpleasant. Lunch was mediocre so I would stick to the suppers. The rooms are very nice but the one I stayed in had something (animal) in the roof…understandably this is not an easy fix as the roof is not easily accessible. i did however report it to the maintenance person.

All delicious home cooked meals were more than ample, made with much love. The attention to detail and service was excellent. The staff were so kind. We ran into a bit of car trouble before getting there so it was such a relief when a mini rescue team was put into action to make sure of our safe arrival. We were very well looked after. Appreciated the quiet and wonderful nature walks. We will be back!

Due to various load shedding during the day, there was no internet at times nor cell phone reception. That being said, with the wondeful surroundings and nature at your door step you might aswell DISCONNECT in the true sense of the word and enjoy your stay to its fullest. Thats exactly what we did!

We were looking for self catering near Addo. The lodge is 2,5 hours away from Addo. We booked self catering but 2 weeks before we were due to leave the owner messaged me to say they did not have a unit for us. He said for an extra R 450 per person we could include dinner but we needed to confirm two weeks in advance. The advert says they have restaurant and Bar. Not true. The meals are very nice and Nicky is a very good home cook. But R 450 per person is way out of proportion. We were welcome to use the main kitchen but that’s not the same as self catering. I will go back again because I loved it, but the advert on Bookings.com is false and misleading.

The absolute remoteness, the friendliness of the team that went out of their way to make our new years eve really remarkable. The lodge and rooms are great.

stunning location in the Eastern Cape Karoo. staff very friendly and accommodating

the price of the dinner is a complete joke. at R450 head for a home cooked chicken thigh and veggies is a complete rip off. the owner is out of touch with reality and he is charging European prices for a nice but mediocre meal. the owner needs to come down to earth and charge South African prices. just leaves a bad impression. even the manager was embarrassed at the cost.

What’s there not to like

The entire experience was superb. From the moment we entered the reserve to the moment that we left we felt pampered and well looked after. The reserve is peaceful and quiet and the staff added beautiful personal touches to the accommodation and meals. Already planning a trip back there.
