Excellent place to stay, very comfortable rooms and the staff were very welcoming. Food was also good

The only gripe I had was in the bathroom the loo roll holder wasn't fitted properly, could have done with another bedside lamp and coat hooks

Abbiamo soggiornato in questa struttura e ci è stata assegnata una bella camera, decisamente spaziosa. Sia la stanza che il bagno si sono rivelati pulitissimi, un aspetto che abbiamo apprezzato molto. Molto accogliente anche la sala ristorante e colazioni: quest'ultima, a nostro avviso, è ben fornita, mentre la cena (pur dipendendo dai piatti scelti) non è stata tra le più memorabili.

Viste le alte temperature del periodo, pensare di far dormire gli ospiti in una camera in mansarda senza mettere a disposizione nemmeno un ventilatore dimostra, purtroppo, una scarsa attenzione verso il cliente. Va specificato che lo staff si è dimostrato più che disponibile nel proporci una camera diversa, ma essendo altrettanto calda abbiamo preferito rifiutare.Un piccolo suggerimento per l'esterno: molto belle e piacevoli le panche in giardino per bere qualcosa in compagnia, ma il laghetto con le papere meriterebbe una maggiore cura.

Great location and easy access to the festival, lovely room with comfy bed and a nice powerful shower, felt very welcome and relaxed there, the property has a classic theme and felt warm and cosy, definitely a place to relax and enjoy the food and drink!

The hotel is beautiful and very welcoming. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

We had just got married that day and I had booked the bridal suite as a treat as we were not able to go on honeymoon. However, due to a glitch on the system it didn't book the right room. Even though the standard room was lovely it wasn't the extra bit of luxury that we were looking forward to. The booking staff at reception were lovely but unfortunately the bridal suite was not available.

When I’m spending £300. I expect to have a cooked breakfast in the morning not jam & cereal and toast you get that abroad it’s call Continental spent less than that in Birmingham at The Hyatt Hilton I got proper breakfast in the morning. The mattress on the bed was poor it wanted changing.

Very friendly staff, clean room which was a good size. Lovely meals at a reasonable price. Entertainment was good on the Friday evening and there was a good sized beer garden.

Due to the extreme high temperatures, Air con could have been turned on early in the day before we arrived as due to the rooms being in the roof the heat was stifling and it took until the next day to even start to get comfortable making it hard to sleep even with a fan. Would have liked early breakfast on the Saturday as 9am breakfast is quite late to start especially when you need to travel a long way. The milk was sour in the jug at breakfast which I only found out after pouring it onto my breakfast but this was quickly resolved by the lovely staff in charge and was obviously due to the high temperatures.

Excellent facilities we were in a room at the back which was quiet. Staff were friendly, helpful and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed

The room was lovely. Ample parking.

The fact the bar closed at 9 o,clock Monday evening although plenty of people still at the bar. Even for residents. They lock all the external doors at 22:00 and you need a code to get in. Ther is no night staff on. If you need anything, you have to call a night manager out. Which is no good in an emergency. It advertisers and English breakfast. But in the week it is a continental breakfast with a bacon or sausage sandwich on request.

Everything from rooms too food plus outdoor bar and staff are so friendly our 2nd time here and will definately be back with family and friends ❤️

We checked in at 3pm and were staying in the disabled room with access from the outside seating area. We needed a nap as we'd been traveling, but a short time after arriving a singer was placed right outside our bedroom window and it was so loud. We didn't manage to get some sleep.

Check in was easy, and the staff were very helpful. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

The bathroom door could do with a oiling & the bed frame is a bit squeaky but just minor things

We stayed to break up a long journey so location just off the M6 was perfect. Room was good and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The pub section was lovely and staff were very friendly.

We thought we had booked a quite village pub to rest our heads after a long day however when we arrived there was a very loud party in full swing with live singers. The receptionist had to shout to give us the information about our stay, which wasn't great. She told us the party would finish at 11.30 and they had an extended licence until then. This was all fine. We checked into the room, which was extremely hot so opened the windows only to hear the party below. Again this was fine knowing it was going to end at 11.30pm. We went and a had drink in the bar where you couldn't hear the party but on returning to the room although the live singers at stopped the disco continued and this went on until 12.45am with the guests also talking and laughing loudly. I am not a party pooper but there was no consideration for guests that were staying in the pub and yes we could have gone down to speak to them but we kept thinking it would stop soon as it was due to stop at 11,30, but it didn't.

The picnic bench was not very comfortable. I wanted to sit quietly overlooking the field and read my book.

We stayed here for a gig at Barton Aerodrome. The location was great with just a short drive in. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean. Staff really friendly and helpful. A nice bar. We didn't have time to eat sadly. I just knocked off a point for the early closing as it would've been nice to have a drink after the gig. This made it really quiet though which was nice. Really comfortable bed. Seemed like the place had been newly refurbed. A great value stay with breakfast included.

The bedroom was boiling hot, there was no heating on but even with the windows wide open it was unbearable. It was only 20 degrees outside so it’s not like it was a heatwave

Room was fitted out nicely wardrobe dressing table and lots of tea coffee and biscuits available . Shower in the bath but not slippery to get in and out. Large car park and proximity to the motorway. Spacious restaurant and bar with good variety of food on offer. Staff very welcoming friendly and attentive, provided us with fans and extra pillows

Breakfast was a bit disappointing, limited ‘continental’with a few croissants and pastries and choice of either bacon or sausage sandwich or omelette. We put this down to the fact there seems to be very few overnight guests

It was a lovely place to stay. An old English pub feel to it. It’s had extensions and they are in the same theme. The beer garden is setup well to!

The hot breakfast featured cold beans and tomatoes and came out very (too) quickly. We'd hardly started the cereals and pastries. We felt rushed. It was clearly pre-cooked and reheated. No need. The shower head in the bathroom needs replacing. We appreciated the arrival of the classic car club the following morning. But had We known we'd have put our car somewhere we wouldn't have spent time apologising for needing to extracate it.

Screens on the windows would be helpful. I would have appreciated plain Greek yogurt and granola available for breakfast. Also would like to see more salads on the menu.

Excellent place. Clean, large, comfy, massive bed. Excellent staff they where always cleaning and happy to help, lovely location. Duck pond/beer garden was Beautiful. Cracking breakfast We only had 2 nights for a nearby festival. Looking for an excuse to go back.

Very busy at breakfast with 2 staff trying to cover restaurant and reception. Full English was the only option offered to use, it tasted fine but have had better.

The property was clean, the bedroom was excellent and was way better than hotels we have stayed in recently, the staff were attentive and the food delicious

The bed was had a slightly harder mattress than I was used to but this was a small issue.

A lovely village pub, very popular with the local community which is great to see. Bedroom and en suite very well put together and had a huge bath as well as separate shower.

Comfortable, good food and value for money

We were eating our meal and at 9:00pm a member of staff indicated that the hotel was quiet and last orders were at 9:15 pm !

The cooked breakfast was limited to sausage and bacon and offered in a sandwich. I requested poached eggs on brown toast with tomatoes and this was emphatically confirmed as not being available.

Apart from the breakfast the rest of the stay was very satisfactory. The staff were very friendly in general.

Room was clean and well decorated. Staff were attentive and really friendly particularly the reception staff and manager as I’d forgotten my phone charger.

There was a very noisy function on the Friday night which thankfully finished by 11. But we were in the room immediately after the stairwell and it was considerable. Breakfast on the weekends is served late and we had to miss the paid for cooked breakfast on the Sunday. However, the staff setting up for breakfast on the Saturday evening were extremely lovely and sorted a continental breakfast in a really polite and helpful way.

Staff were a bit unfriendly. I stay in many hotels due to travelling for work but didn’t get a warm welcome and on check out staff wouldn’t print of invoice, I had to chase to get invoice emailed .

Delicious dinner and breakfast

The location is quiet yet accessible from the motorway, making it an ideal location for travelling between the south and Scotland. The food, staff, and room were exceptional. Parking is easy. The Black Swan has a relaxed, efficient, and fun vibe.

Rarely is a place spot on; the Black Swan is a rarity.

Room size (very large), decor and cleanliness were very good. Bar staff excellent.

Bathroom: fan didn't work, mirror light not working, no toilet brush, only 1 hand towel, only 2 small tubes of shampoo & shower gel with a small soap. No moisturiser. Room facilities: No water (for a superior room costing £170 B&B we expected much better), no tissues, had to turn TV off at wall switch as the remote power function did not work. Breakfast: Food tepid to cold (mushrooms), only fruit available were slices of water melon & 2 pieces of tinned pineapple. Didn't see any yogurts? Overall breakfast selection was very poor.
