What an amazing treat! We wanted a place halfway between Paris and La Roche Posay, our destination and I found Chandon. Who knew what an amazing place this was. The Chateau Chandon is breathtaking and this hotel, adjacent and a short walk over, was fantastic! I highly recommend.
I travel a lot! This was by far the best hotel I have ever experienced. I was honestly blown away from the minute I arrived until I walked out the door. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL!! The food and drinks were exceptional and the view was incredible. This hotel is worth every penny and then some! I am extremely impressed
Everything was top notch: service, cleanliness, staff, grounds...the slanted ceiling was a bit of a problem for us, but we managed. Gorgeous property! Thank you to Sheryl and the barteneder who made us a kir royale the US way with real Chambord! Kudos!
Lovely hotel and extremely convenient being right next to Chateau Chambord. Loved having the entire place to ourselves after all the tourists left in the evening. The restaurant is also very good and highly recommended.
This is an incredible location with stunning views of the Chateau! The personnel were incredibly welcoming and very friendly. In particular, Mathis went above and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. He even took our bags and gave us a private tour! We had an amazing time in this absolutely gorgeous hotel. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with lots of options. It was so easy to park. The Chateau is only a few minutes walking from the hotel. My only disappointment was that we didn’t have enough time to bike or row a boat. I can’t wait to go back and take advantage of these options.
An unparalleled setting, large comfy beds, friendly bar, decent food at the resto with amateurish service.
Booked a 2 night stay 1st-3rd May 2025. Upon arrival went for a drink in the bar. The bar was rammed, there was nowhere to sit and a big queue at the bar. Despite this the hotel was letting more and more people in, who weren't even staying at the hotel. By 1 pm the bar had run out of food. Place was filthy, uncollected glasses & plates on tables, cigarette butt ends in plant pots, toilets were a disgrace. This is a Small Luxury Hotel of the world, but in our experience it is anything but. Ended up only staying for 1 night because it was so awful. Complained to the General Manager who agreed to refund us for the second night. Just need someone from Hotels.com to contact me about this as there are no contact details anywhere on the website. The hotel cannot refund me directly as the booking was via a third party ie. Hotels.com
Driving up and being adjacent to the castle
Best Location for Chambord!
Amazing in ever way! Closest to the castle
Close to the beautiful chateau. Staff was friendly and warm. Super clean.
Amazing! Very picturesque
Really nice hotel, high quality restaurant. Staff were friendly. Service was attentive. Atmosphere was nice, but maybe a little bit stuffy. My room was very small - this didn't matter because I was traveling alone, but if I come back with my partner I'll pay for a higher level room to get more space.
RAS
Perfect
The staff was wonderful. They handled all our bags at check in and out. They parked and charged our electric car. The room ,although small, had everything we needed and was beautifully decorated. The food was outstanding. It’s well worth the extra cost to receive such elegant accommodations.
Nous avons passé une nuit au Relais et c’était parfait. Nous avons aussi dîner au restaurant. A recommander.
Senasacional
The room was small, and in the toilet it was very cold, freezing! We told this to the receptionist, and she reacted giggling. Overall overpriced!
An incredible hotel in an amazing setting. The spa is excellent and the restaurant outstanding
Wonderful staff, comfortable beds, incredible view.
Great weekend right by the chateau
It is a small but cosy Hotel. The restaurant had very good food. It is very convenient if you want to visit the Castle of Chambord, is next to it.
Everything was wonderful, hotel and staff were great!
This property is fantastic. 5 minutes walk from the castle. Excellent service and ambient.
Location is exquisite for Chateau Chambord.
Very convenient, clean, and excellent service. The staff is very polite and helpful. Definitely will go back again for more days to rest and relax.
Need more English speaking staff. Service at restaurant was sub-par compared to when we stayed a year prior.
We loved the restaurant at the property. Great view of the castle and phenomenal staff.
The room was nice, the bed comfy, and the view of the river very nice. It is lovely to be so close to the castle and you can dine while looking at the castle.
For the cost of this hotel it was terrible The staff were not helpful The spar was very small and we got told we only had 30 minutes
Perfect for the stopover in Chambord! Perfect for a one night stay to see the castle. The staff is very friendly, the room was well appointed by French standards and it was exactly as hoped for my visit! The bartender was helpful w local choices of wine. MERI!
Beautiful.
Fabulous stay!
Very nice property with great views
It was great to stay right on the Chambord grounds. Very scenic
Expensive but worth the splurge to be in such a special place-- we paid extra for view of the Chateau. Skip the crowds and bling of Versailles and treat yourself to this perfect architectural masterpiece (that is, the Chateau-- the hotel is disappointingly modern, with smallish rooms, but overall felt luxurious). Note that there is a charge for parking and that you will likely want to pay for dinner and breakfast as well. Dinner was quite good and elegantly served. Only complaint-- it took more than half an hour for staff to take our order.
The room we stayed in with the view of the château was beautiful. Very clean and well-maintained. The staff were very nice to us. We ate at the restaurant and the food we thought tasted great, and the service was great.
Great hotel with great hospitality. Really enjoyed our stay.
EXCELLENT STAFF AND PROPERTY
what a stunning place
Very convenient location; right next to Chateau Chambord. Nice room and bathroom.
Stayed here last year and decided to return this year. Location superb and dinner on the terrace overlooking the Chateau at night is wonderful. No complaints about the staff or the hotel itself. In fact, the staff are lovely. Service can be very slow (and I’m quite a relaxed individual). Also, if you visit the bar, beware the rugs……Overall though, well worth going.
This beautiful hotel nestled in the charming French countryside is 5 minutes from the majestic Charmbord Castle. The staff went above and beyond to cater to our every need and want. The staff was so pleasant and helpful with our travel needs The restaurant on the property is elegant and the food is absolutely delicious! Michelin star rated I would highly recommend this hotel, it’s simple wonderful!🌻🏰🇫🇷
We had a very relaxing, romantic stay here. Staff were lovely and attentive, facilities were first class, definitely recommend.
Beautiful area
The location is perfect to access the chateau. Very nice hotel rooms, nice staff.
Beautiful property. Convenient to chateau. Delicious breakfast. Location and parking slightly difficult to navigate. May have been language barrier. Overall, excellent stay!
A great place to relax in a beautiful setting. The hotel was clean, well appointed with a friendly staff.
The bar and restaurant service wasn’t good, and the food wasn’t good also
The property is beautiful. I didn't forgive myself for not writing down the name of the guy that take care of us, our luggage, and our car. He is so kind and offers us a 5-star experience. Other members of the staff should learn from him. We had dinner at the place, and the menu was poor of options and the food was just ok. I really expected much more. Because of the location, and the comfort of the rooms, I recommend staying at this property for at least one weekend.
this place is walking distance to Chambord and the view is excellent. the dinner was superb!
Location close to the castle, room and breakfast were on the top of the line!
Stay was great.
Came for a company retreat, the team loved the place. Excellent service!
This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Chateau and it's grounds. It is a very magical place. The restaurant is phenomenal.
I absolutely love my room has an outdoor table and chairs and a view of some parts of the Chambord castle. I will definitely stay there next time I go back there.
The location is superb and the proximity and views of the castle amazing. The Front Desk staff are excellent, very knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately the service at the outdoor bar was disappointing and I waited 30 minutes from sitting down to getting my drink. Very frustrating but still the staff is friendly and indoor service and dinner at the bistro was excellent.
View of Chambord castle
Great hotel with a wonderful view of the Chambord castle. Beautiful hotel. Unfortunately the AC was not working in our room so was too hot to sleep well.
The property was hands down the best out of all the hotels me and my girlfriend stayed in throughout my 3 week Europe trip. We loved the large space in the room, the huge bathtub and they gave free bottles of water and a small box of chocolates every day! The lady at the check-in counter was super helpful in giving us information about what to do around the area. Would definitely come back again given the chance.
Great hotel in an amazing location. Staff are very and knowledgeable. Great welcome from Clare at check in, and special mentions to Annabelle in the Restaurant and Stephane. However, all staff were friendly and helpful.
Château under renovation not informed. 1 restaurant closed at hotel could not accommodate had to drive back to town to eat dinner
Very bad service! I tried to cancel 1 night several days before and they lied to me about it. Having to call my travel agent… and the travel agent who i know for a long long time told me they didn’t want switch my last night . Anyway overall is bad They are way toi much ! And service is BAD ! French ( my first language) is very bad ag this hotel ! Bunch of young studient from around tue world ( cool ?) but not so cool id u need something from them Also the manager was not nice and didn’t come to talk to me ! My problem Overall is bad ! Very bad and trust me i travel around the world and this is the first time i had this experience
It was so peaceful here, we really enjoyed wandering around the Chateau in the evening.
The hotel is nice and the proximity to the Château is why you stay here. The room was small but nice and had a lovely view of the sunset. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. That having been said, know that the hotel and limited food options are part of a theme-park-style operation that is the Château de Chambord attraction. It's nice but there is a lot of commotion, lots of people and everything costs more than you think it should.
I chose a room with the view of the Chateau, which was definitely a bonus. The hotel is modern, with Michelin restaurant at the hotel.
Small and improperly designed rooms, also noisy
Really nice hotel. Its location in front of the castle is definitely incredible (enjoy the evening walk around without the tourists). Service is welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable but a bit small for the price. I thought I booked the better restaurant but it seems there was a mistake and the reservation was made for the simpler one. In the end the incredible service made for it. Thank you for the stay!
Superb location. Service from all staff excellent. However, room was too small and all drinks and food overpriced.
Absolutely amazing property. Great location, staff and amenities. We will come back.
excellent location to visit the castel, super friendly staff
The chateau as the back drop was special especially the view from our room Staff most helpful and food excellent
A great hotel in a wonderful location. Service in the bistro was below par and €15 for an Aperol Spritz was ridiculous. Everything else good. Dinner and breakfast delicious.
Overall, it was/is a nice hotel but not what I expect from Relais & Chateau. It's very spartan feeling and not particularly luxurious. Chateau de Chambord is right next door to the hotel and we were lucky enough to get a room with a fantastic view of the Chateau. I was expecting the hotel to be a little more over the top like the chateau. It's very modern, clean lines, and new but just not anything special. Restaurant was ok but nothing special. Staff was nice and helpful.
No shower head on wall only hand held. Water all over bathroom floor after each shower.
This is the only hotel within the park that surrounds the Château of Chambord . It is a five minute walk from the Château which you can see while sitting in the restaurant outside. The hotel is very luxurious and comfortable and has a good, but expensive, restaurant. This is certainly the best choice if staying the night before visiting the Château.
Beautiful place to stay. Unfortunately there were building works going on to sort out tge air conditioning.
Location is absolutely beautiful. being next door to Chambered is quite the sight during the day and at night. Peaceful place.
Amazing place - one of those very memorable places all travellers have (at least that’s what Relais Chambord was for us!) Amazing service, incredible views of the chateaux at sunset while eating the outstanding food of the hotel’s main restaurante on the terrace. Attention to detail and welcoming staff. We only hoped it had a pool and not just a small jacuzzi :)
The hotel was very nice and a lovely location overlooking the chateau. The tasting menu in the restaurant was delicious.
The Relais is literally right on the grounds of the Chateau de Chambord. Our room was small but clean and comfortable with plenty of nice amenities. The hotel's restaurant is sensational! Fantastic food from a young, accomplished chef. Add in the Spa, bikes, horseback riding, a staff that was unfailingly nice and helpful and tons of other things to do and you will not regret staying at this wonderful boutique hotel.
It's good and very suit for me. I'm having a chance to come again to France, I'll try to book them and give a recommendation to all my friend.
everything here is perfection!! the bed is sooo comfortable, super clean hotel, amazing staff
Fantastic position and nice terrace. Room was not very big but was clean and had nice bed and linen. No tea or coffee in the room but expensive minibar. The receptionist staff on duty at our check in was not pleasant and although he told us the restaurant was fully booked he did not mention that we could eat in the bar. I thought it might just have been us but we met with friends and she came with me to our room and without prompting said. The reception staff then were very rude as they did not even look up when we went in. Although the man who checked us out was nice. Smiles go a long way to making someone feel welcome something sadly lacking in France
Beautiful site next to Chambord. Room was quite small. Our room service meal had to remain on the bed since the desk was undersized. There was only one small chair to eat our meal. The bathroom was drafty with no door.
the rooms are very small with a very small bathroom and inadequate HVAC. Sorry but this is a relais and chateau property. On the other hand service, wifi breakfast were excellent and it is directly 50 yards away from the Chateau Chambord. I had two miserable nights of sleep because of the crappy HVAC
Excellent hotel with amazing location. The dinner we had at the restaurant was the best meal we had in France. 5 stars.
This is my second stay at this hotel. I always bring friends. The highlight for me is dining al fresco with a fantastic view Chateau de Chambord. Great food and service. Breakfast buffet is excellent. In the room, large windows open for fresh air. No central heat (not allowed); however, individual room heaters work great. Also, as of Sept 2018, still must go to front desk to call out of country, as room phones do not allow it. Lastly, the TV has too many options, and most of them don't work. On the plus side, I like the Fragonard toiletries. The front desk guest service is excellent. Valet parking. I am disabled, and the hotel provided me a golf cart to visit nearby shops.
Beautiful new hotel right next to Chambord castle. It’s just there in front of you! Amazing!!! Modern rooms. Bed duvet was super hot though, and the heaters seemed too hot as well, for the winter. Nice reception. Confusing parking situation in the parking lot.
The property is just magical no words to discribe the scenery.simply beautiful
This hotel is nothing short of amazing. The staff is warm and friendly and attentive. The hotel overlooks the Chateau and it feels magical. The Autumn colours and mist rising about the river in the morning were beautiful. It was warm and cosy and I was sad to leave. :) I wish we had stayed longer so that we could have taken the bicycles through the forests or come back in summer to take the little boats out on the river.
Modern, luxurious hotel adjacent to Chateau. Fantastic location and lovely rooms. Hotel is upmarket with great service and facilities. Rooms are reasonable size, for Europe, but have no aircon, only heating. On a warm October day we had to open windows and got the inevitable insects in the room as there are no flyscreens. As the Hotel is in the country, about 30 minute drive from the nearest bigger town, Blois, its restaurant is the only one available. It is of good quality but rather expensive. The location is the main feature of this hotel.
Relais de Chambord is well appointed, attractive, the room small and compact but very comfortable with updated interior. The restaurant a treat to dine in, the food equal to the majesty of the Chateau location. All in all I liked the small size and relaxing feel. The room was quiet generally, but some noise from overlooking the gravel drive and entrance area where deliveries are made during the day. I liked the billiard room is a nice touch, and the spa amenities. It almost feels like you're part of the Chateau's domain. The hotel does not compete architecturally with the grandeur of the Chateau appropriately but serves it well with its understated subdued elegance. The bike rental was very convenient for exploring the woods and paths around the domain and spotting deer in the viewing hides placed around the domain. I found the staff to be cordial and quite helpful throughout my stay. This one will be a do again.
My second time bringing friends here from the US. Best location EVER! Sit outside on the patio for a meal in full view of Chambord, my favorite of all the French Lore Valley chateaux.
