Comfy bed. Lovely garden and surroundings
The room rm 4 was next to an entrance which was noisy and we were woken by someone entering the property at around 5am. The air conditioning leaked water all over the floor. We were told by the property a few weeks after we had booked that we were unable to get into the property until 5pm due to an event in the surrounding area. We managed to get into at 5 but were then told that we could not eat as the restaurant was closed. The bar also closed very early again due to the event. We were told we could have attended the event to buy food from there. But we had been out from early morning and were very tired.
The garden lodge was just perfect. It was a lovely relaxing room where listening to the owls hooting and deer barking made it feel all the more special. The staff were naturally hospitable and made us feel really welcome even though we were a last minute booking. The food was excellent and the bed and pillows the most comfortable I've ever experienced in a hotel. We wanted to book for longer but they were fully the following night which shows how successful the Inn on the Green is.
The only very minor criticism would be that the path to the lodge was a big narrow in places.
Lovely building and our room was brilliant.
We arrived Sunday evening and it was so busy. Non residents use the restaurant and the car park was full. The pool seemed dirty.
Charming pub on a village green, we didn’t use the outdoor pool as the weather wasn’t great but it’s a nice feature. We were initially in one of the rooms opening onto the pub courtyard, but changed to a room upstairs which was much more spacious with a huge shower and bath. The staff were very friendly, along with the locals in the pub. Dinner was outstanding and breakfast was either a cold meat and cheese platter, or for £10 extra you could have a cooked full English. I chose the Eggs Royale which were very good. Would stay again.
Nothing.
Lovely setting and a great evening meal
Disappointing continental breakfast
Huge room with enormous double bath which we didn't use!! Great little swimming pool. Food in onsite restaurant was delicious. All staff helpful and friendly. A great find, certainly go back if we need accomodation in the area again.
Amazing place 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Very good breakfast. Location was very convenient for Odney where we were attending a party. The ambience of the hotel was relaxed and pleasant. Pity the bar closed at 8.00 although we weren't pressurised to finish our drinks. Nice, friendly staff.
The entrance to the car park needs a bit of attention. Very rough surface.
Lovely staff, great location . Pizza was delicious!
Pool was cloudy, Stopped me from going in. There was a lot of kids in and out. Put me off slightly as its only a small pool. Breakfast was really poor.. No good coffee. That was the only real let down.
Staff lovely. Nice breakfast. Environment great
The feel of the place. Cpmgortsbly classy . Excellent food
Slightly grubby floors and non working towel rail
Lovely staff, gorgeous location and fantastic facilities. Perfect for exploring Marlow/Henley on Thames. Breakfast was delicious and the service was great. We loved our stay! The grounds and pool were amazing, our room lead out onto a courtyard with lots of seating, running water features and mood lighting at night... gorgeous!
The food was stunning delicious and well worth what we paid.
Air con in the room was a god send
It was quaint cozy and had a nice charm about it
Pool Loungers were old and tatty and pool wasn’t desirable to go in. Rooms clean but more basic toiletries would have been good.
What a little gem. We will be back
Lovely peaceful countryside location. Lots of areas to sit. Very nice hardworking staff. Delicious food in the evening. We enjoyed the pool. Room a decent size and the air con worked a treat.
Decor in poor taste in the rooms. Brown pleather stuck on cupboard doors for example. Could easily be made so much nicer if pared back. Generally I think understaffed as the communal areas need a good clean. Breakfast not very good. Poor quality (cheap) ingredients other than the fresh fruit but we appreciated the free flowing coffee.
What a gem of a place it was so good we returned again a few days later. The location is fabulous the pool is immaculate and the food is high quality
I would of liked a cooked breakfast option rather than just continental.
rooms with AC, food a specially pizza
small pool, many kids jumping into it shouting and throwing a ball
Very relaxing friendly hotel , great food and pool facilities. Good value and exceptional friendly staff
Only had one blip but was sorted promptly and very satisfied with manager Sam who professionally dealt with it , thank you
The pool, grounds food and staff.
Nothing apart from having to leave!
Beautiful setting, good food, clean comfortable room
Nothing
Friendly & relaxed in the afternoon & evening. Service & food were both good.
Breakfast. Rather pay than have a complimentary continental breakfast with no cheese, little fruit & no cereal. Coffee & tea were both cold . Generally felt like we were in the way.
It was our second time visiting, and even better this time. The pool was a welcome break from the heat and we loLovely rooms and gardens, good breakfast and fantastic dinner. Compliments to the chef, it was a dinner experience that exceeded lots of London restaurants.
Pleasant buildings, friendly helpful staff.
In spite of booking a table for a barbecue meal we were not able to get any food. Pastries for Sunday breakfast we're not fresh
Chose a dog friendly room which small but functional. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good, the staff were very friendly and our dog was allowed in with us.
Not really the fault of The Inn on the Green but there were cars parked at both of the EV chargers when we were there and even though one had finished its charge, the owner didn’t move it all evening and it was still there when we left early the following morning.
Returning customers for the fourth time
Healthy breakfast options lacking just some fruit
Pleasant & welcoming staff. Relaxed atmosphere, great outdoor space including swimming pool, bar, seating & relaxation space.
All in all, it was pretty damn good.
We enjoyed everything about our 3 day mid week break.
Nothing not to like.
Excellent food in lovely surroundings. Very large comfortable bed and air conditioner in the room. We didn't, use the swimming pool but it is a great addition.
Nothing to dislike!
Peaceful and relaxing place. Great breakfast

Very good breakfast .Great location.
Chicken dish was disappointing. Too much gravy-- a jug on the side would have been better. Roast potatoes were overcooked.
Location
Room very tired, drawers missing handles, carpet very old, decor old and completely out of character. How can you pay £300 a night for a very tired room and still have to pay for a cooked breakfast??
The pool and great atmosphere
The location, the pool and the lunch were very good. The aircon in our room was very welcome but the room needs updating
Good facilities but the toilets need attention
Feels like home. Great food , service and pool. Superb room and seemed even better than last year for wise !
Excellent facilities, very helpful staff. Pool was amazing in. the heat!
Mattress was a bit old and lumpy!
Beautiful outside.
A shockingly bad experience, and to be clear I did not end up staying the night. I arrived about 2 hours before check in, knowing it was unlikely I could check in early. Totally fine. It seems it is a man and woman who run the hotel. The woman told me I could wait by the pool and she would get me when my room was ready, and go to the bar if I needed a drink or anything. This was during the heat wave, it was over 34 degrees and pure sun out so I was happy to be able to cool off while I waited. I took my bags to the bathroom and changed. I went to get water from the bar before going by the pool and the man running the hotel told me I was not allowed to sit by the pool as they were too busy. There were 2 people outside by the pool when I walked by it to enter the hotel. I asked where I should wait then, and was told my best bet was under an umbrella outside. I was so exhausted from my flight and was shocked I was told I needed to wait outside for my room. I sat outside until the woman came and told me my room was ready. She brought me up a few flights of stairs to the top floor. The room was basic and VERY hot. There was a fan already inside, and I tried to turn on the aircon but it wasn’t working. I went back downstairs and told the woman my aircon wasn’t working. She told me “you booked a fan only room.” I said I definitely made sure that my booking said I had aircon and a pool or I wouldn't have booked it. She walked away without saying anything and got the man who then told me that the aircon in my room broke a few days ago and no one could fix it until Sunday. This was Wednesday. And I had only booked this room a few days before which would’ve been before the aircon worked. I asked if I could just leave and receive a refund. He said “under the circumstances” he could do so. Thankfully I did receive my full refund, but the way I was treated as a customer was terrible.
Comfortable room. Pleasant pool area and garden. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food good. Continental breakfast included in the price
Can’t think of anything- it was just what we needed
Lovely rooms, friendly and extremely helpful staff, and great location.
Unable to clear steam from the bathroon and no cooked breakfast options Other than that all great,.
Lovely location. Friendly staff. Excellent food
We arrived and had an excellent roast lunch. Spent the afternoon sat by the pool . The room was beautiful and very clean, with soft towels . Cannot fault. We had continental breakfast which was perfect. This is our 3rd time visiting this gorgeous place and we will definitely return
That we had to leave?! 😞
Room 4 has a large, comfortable, huge bed. Storage for clothing is limited. Generally, all the electric appliances are good. The restaurant is excellent, with a variety of attractive dining areas both inside and out. The location is quiet. We like it more than enough to stay again.
Access to the hotel kitchen for early morning deliveries is very adjacent to Room 4 and sleep can be disturbed. Outdoor recorded music seems unnecessary and into the late evening, given the tranquillity of the hotel's location.
Pool and comfortable beds
That pool day users have priority over residents
Gorgeous, peaceful setting, lovely food in the restaurant and kind staff
The hot water in the shower didn’t seem to work - despite running it for ages. Not sure if there was just an issue that day?
Several stays here - never disappointed. Brilliant location, rooms immaculate- bar and pool area fantastic. Lovely staff too - Mallory especially helpful this visit - welcoming and friendly. Breakfast really great too.
Nothing!!
Enjoyed using the pool on Saturday morning and the gardens and outside seating areas were very pretty. Bed was comfy so had a good night’s sleep.
Pool area was far too crowded on Friday night when we arrived as it’s not that big. The food was only average with things missed off the plates both at breakfast and supper time. Hot water in shower was too hot for me.
A lovely hotel! I loved everything about my stay. The village has some beautiful walks, making it a perfect place to relax. The outdoor pool was amazing in this weather and a real highlight of the trip. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the whole experience was fantastic. I'll definitely be coming back soon!
Fantastic friendly staff and lovely outdoor space. Our room was well equipped and very comfortable. Food was fantastic and good value.
Nothing
I stayed here with my family the night before my wedding and it was the perfect place to relax before the big day. The rooms are a great size and the outdoor pool area was amazing. This place is a hidden gem in Cookham Dean.

The pool is amazing and the staff are so welcoming
There was actually no complaint
Lovely location. Calm relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food delicious including. Pool and area relaxing. Bed comfy. Plenty of space.
I wish I could have stayed 1 more night 😁 Nothing I didn’t like.
Staff very good.
Access roads very bad
The bedroom was very comfortable - tissues would have been good but other than that all good
Nowhere comfortable to sit or go to after dinner other than your bedroom.
The evening staff were friendly and helpful. The meal was satisfactory
On Saturday night we mentioned we'd like a cheeseboard on Sunday, and the waitress said that should be fine. We had family come to the bar and have after lunch drinks with them. When they left we went into the bar to order a cheeseboard to be informed that there was NO food Sunday evening. After drinking we could not go else where to eat so ended up ordering a Dominos Pizza in our room. Not at all what we expected.
Wir haben uns ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt 👍 freundliches Personal, tolle Lage und gutes Essen.
Very nice lovely
Friendly welcoming hard working staff. Lovely ambience. Lovely swimming pool. Great quality meals, well presented. No hesitation to recommend.
All good.
Quiet
Unprofessional staff, slow service.

It was an unexpected gem, tucked away in a wee village with welcoming owner and staff. Garden room was lovely inside, huge comfy bed, lit thoughtfully with coloured festoon lights. Dinner was tasty. The packed continental breakfast on the first day was much appreciated as it was served from 0800 (too late for my working day).
The outside of the garden room needs sweeping and clearing of cobwebs and debris - would have sat outside but it looked abandoned. A man walked his dog right up on the decking in the morning which made me feel vulnerable as a solo traveller (a sign may be required at the start of last the footpath that only leads to the garden room to respect guest privacy). Breakfast was forgotten day 2. Shower flooded entire bathroom (reported on checkout) which accounted for scum marks on the floor on arrival.
Wonderful property in the most beautiful and relaxing surroundings.
Friendly bar staff upon arrival.
Continental breakfast was a little lacking. No bread or toast. Terrible coffee!
Room was very nice, comfortable bed, good sized wardrobe, good sized TV Good included breakfast - Continental breakfast in a different style
Scary local instructions for Aircon Mixed confusing branding on TV (the hotel has clearly had a rebrand recently) Narrow bathroom and leaking shower (shower head had missing nozzles)
Special little hotel, with lovely facilities, pool area and outdoor seating area for eating and drinking are lovely. Room although small had everything we needed including air conditioning which was very welcome during the two nights of our stay.
Our shower room window faced the pool area, although had opaque glass, would have felt more comfortable with a small extra covering/blind.
Beautiful area, clean rooms, friendly, knowledgeable staff, amazing pool area and food!
Only negative was the restriction to using the pool on checkout day (only to 12).
Location, room,Staff, food and drinks. A lovely place that I would return to. The breakfast continental was lovely. The setting was amazing. Please visit here!
The weather !
Great hotel, loved the setting & the pool & the food in the evening was excellent
Nothing
Restaurant excellent.
Shower didn't work properly and tan randomly in the night!
Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Dinner was delicious. The room was large and the bathroom huge. Even A/C in the room. Definitely on our list for a revisit
A challenge to get there as the roads are very narrow
Overall good. Friendly and helpful staff. Room location ideal as we had a dog with us.
Breakfast choice - good. Friendly and helpful staff.
The room was the dog friendly room for three of us. The sofa bed took a lot of space up and it did make it a little difficult to get around. That was probably the only negative. The weekend breakfast which is cooked by a chef was fab. So on the weekdays where it is just continental breakfast was a bit disappointing. How wrong I was it was lovely. and plentiful. Granola fruit and yogurt, cheese ,ham, croissant, toast and pastries, choice of tea or coffee and fresh juice or water too and to be fair you can add a bacon or sausage sandwich at an extra cost. We really enjoyed it. All the staff we met were friendly, professional and courteous. The hotel is set in a quaint little village and the surroundings are really pretty. It would be a lovely setting in the summer months when you could sit outside in the gardens. Thank you for a welcome stay
I didn't realise I could have asked for the swimming pool to be opened and they would willingly have obliged
Everything 👍🙏
Cozy
We had to leave ;)
We had the evening meal on both days and it was really delicious and beautifully presented. The grounds are well kept and attractive, the location is quiet and there are plenty of footpaths on the doorstep. Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed. The swimming pool is quite small but fine for two people.
Shower leaked onto the bathroom floor
Mooie, goed onderhouden locatie.
Everything was perfect. The location just beautiful, the hotel clean and the food very delicious. The pool was just the perfect addition and the staff were all so super nice and attentive. Special thanks to Malorie & Sam for making our stay so lovely
Everything was perfect. We'll be back for sure!
Room was warm and clean. Breakfast was okay, it was included in the price so fine. The pool was lovely, but they need to make it more clear that it is for residents. The location was fabulous, would be nice to have more information on walks.
Breakfast was very basic, but okay... It was a shame because everything else was lovely. I didn't like that the pool area was so busy with drinkers that it felt uncomfortable to go in the pool....These a small things in comparison to everything else. Staff were lovely, room was lovely, venue was beautiful.
Really friendly staff ,lovely cosy room and welcoming bar / restaurant
Nice location, friendly people and atmosphere, food on offer from their menu is excellent.
Love the pool.
