Farah was very welcoming and available with anything we needed. Mohammed was an excellent guide who showed us around and was on hand for any trips out. The breakfast was really good and the hotel itself is beautiful and full of history. Highly recommend!
This is a one of a kind hotel in the middle of the old medina in Tetouan. There are only 5 large guest rooms that include private baths. The hotel is actually a gorgeous old Moroccan palace transformed into an awesome bed and breakfast. The owner and his family run the hotel and make you feel as if you are part of their family. When we arrived, Fara, the owner's sister, sat down with us to enjoy the traditional Moroccan tea. It was a good opportunity for us to ask any questions about Tetouan and Moroccan culture. She was leaving about an hour later and her nephew, Mehedi came on duty. He was equally as welcoming and both felt like they were our family members welcoming us to their beautiful house. We also met the owner who was extremely kind as well. Mohammed took our luggage from the Taxi and walked us to the hotel from the main entrance of the Medina about a 5 min walk. He was so kind to point out all of the highlights along the way. Once we got checked in, Mohammed was our fabulous tour guide for the rest of the afternoon. The next morning we truly enjoyed a lovely Moroccan breakfast at the hotel. We took so many beautiful photos inside this beautiful palace and in Tetouan as well. Thanks so much to the wonderful staff for making our short stay so memorable!
It’s a gem! A gem stay and a gem owner and staff. A step back in time, amazingly preserved, but with new bathroom facilities. Very clean, even the alley when entry the Riad was smelling clean and nice; they have two fountains, with relaxing water purling. When entering the riad, Aragon guitar concert was playing in sourdine. The breakfast its huge, very diverse. The owner asked what we prefer to eat in the morning, I said fruits, and I got a big plate with melon and strawberries, along with some many other varieties of Moroccan breads, the others had omelettes. Thank you so this wonderful experience!
The hotel itself was very fantastic with traditional Islamic decoration and stunning view from rooftop. However, we booked a room with one queen bed and one single bed. When we arrived at the hotel, we were informed they did not have any room available with one queen bed and one single bed. The owner of this hotel insisted charging us extra Euro 25 for one additional single bed and extra Euro 50 for one bigger room. When we showed the original reservation voucher, they argued the tiny sofa(not a sofa bed, just a sofa) is one single bed. Ridiculous. So don't book this hotel until they become honest.
We are highly satisfied with the classical sophisticated Islamic design, the comfortable room, the stunning view from the rooftop terrace, and excellent location in medina. However, our original reservation by Expedia is one queen bed and one single bed in the room but this hotel said they did not provide a room with two beds. This hotel insisted charging us additional fee for one extra bed and said the reservation information they received is not same as that we provided. It might be the mistake caused by the third party. To avoid any trouble, don't book this hotel from the third party.
amaizng hospitality and really awesome hotel.. Different experience!! a must in tétouan.. the location is perfect in middle of the old city of tetouan.. the veneue is taken care of very well!! I would come back!
My wife and I recently completed an 11 day tour of Morocco. We stayed 3 nights at the nicely decorated Riad El Manantial, where the staff were very attentive and helpful. You follow a bit of a rat maze to get to the riad, but the peaceful, almost totally silent area is very conducive to sleeping well in the comfortable beds. Some very good restaurants are within 5 minutes of walking, and the staff are very helpful in making reservations and getting you there.
Beautiful and carefully restored riad in the medina, with very comfortable furnishings and friendly staff! The riad interior & atrium looks like a museum, and a pleasure to return to after exploring the medina. The owners and staff were very helpful and serve an enormous breakfast in the morning!
