He viatjat per mig món i feia molt de temps que no em sentia tant i tant ben acollit a un lloc, els amos són encantadors. La Vicky es desviu per a què estiguis a gust i gaudeixis de l'estada tant a l'hotel com a l'Alentejo (aprofiteu per a preguntar-li recomanacions de llocs i activitats, dubtes o simplement xerrar-hi una estona, és encantadora!), i en Mitch és un mestre amb els esmorzars ;) De debò que el tracte és com no se'n troba ja avui en dia. Però a més el lloc en si és genial: l'ubicació dalt de la vila i al costat del castell és màgica i alhora et deixa a un cop de cotxe d'un munt de llocs interessants per a visitar: les viles del costat, cellers, etc. Les habitacions són acollidores i decorades amb gust (i la nostra, amb una vista fantàstica!), l'esmorzar és molt bo, la tranquilitat que s'hi respira és meravellosa... en fi, que ens ha encantat. Tack så mycket Vicky i Mitch per acollir-nos!

Excelente pequeno-almoço. Localização fantástica muito central para visitar este cantinho Alentejano. Gostei de tudo; do alojamento, da localização do mesmo. A vista é magnífica e a Paz que ali se vive é inconfundível. Pessoas muito acolhedoras. Os anfitriões ViCKI & MITCH muito prestaveis e acolhedores.

Dear Vicki and Mitch, The Place at Evoramonte was, for us, so much more than just a stay — it was a truly special experience. As this was our first experience of staying in a guest house, we could hardly have wished for a better introduction. Vicki and Mitch are exceptional hosts: their genuine hospitality, warmth, constant availability and attentiveness, and above all the natural and gracious way in which they welcomed and looked after us, always with a warm smile, made us feel truly at home. The Place will, without a doubt, remain our benchmark for excellence. Its location is absolutely exceptional. The breathtaking, almost magical views invite you simply to stop and take it all in. There is something timeless about this place, as though, for a moment, you are transported to another time, another dimension, where everything moves at a gentler pace and you find yourself surrounded by beauty and serenity. We would like to thank Vicki and Mitch for everything they did for us, for every thoughtful gesture, and for making the days we spent there so memorable. We left knowing, without a doubt, that we will return — and will be delighted to experience it all over again. In the meantime, your names are already being mentioned among our friends and family, because truly special places deserve to be shared and recommended. Bem localizado e com uma vista simplesmente espetacular! Tudo foi maravilhoso, desde o início ao fim. A simpatia e disponibilidade do casal, Vicki e Mitch, fizeram toda a diferença. Foram sempre muito simpáticos, atenciosos e prestáveis. Como estávamos a celebrar o nosso aniversário de casamento, surpreenderam-nos com uma garrafa de champanhe — fomos mesmo muito mimados! Foi uma experiência maravilhosa, da qual guardaremos excelentes memórias. Não temos absolutamente nada a apontar. Recomendamos sem hesitar!

We left The Place at Evoramonte thrilled. We booked a room in Evoramonte not only because we didn't know the town, but also because it seemed like a great base for our plans (going to the Festas do Povo in Campo Maior). If it were today, we probably would have tried to book at least a week, because it felt too short… However, it was enough to keep this place in a very special place in our memory. We could have some rest and disconnect from everything during these days, the beautiful, clean room with a superb view, the terraces where all worries seem to disappear into the infinite landscape, the excellent unhurried breakfast, a delicious dinner and, above all, Vicki and Mitch, what can we say about them? Two incredible people who spoiled us from the first minute, giving comfort, attention and friendship, and who immediately left us with a feeling of “saudade” when we left. We want to return, of course – we can't think of it any other way. Thank you so much.

We stayed at this property for three nights, and our experience was simply exceptional. The room was beautiful, modern, functional, and impeccably clean. In fact, the entire property, including both the guest rooms and common areas, is maintained with remarkable care. The quality of the food deserves special recognition. The breakfasts were outstanding: varied, generous, made with fresh ingredients, and prepared with great attention to detail. The meals served on site were equally impressive; everything was homemade and carefully prepared. The hosts, Vicki and Mitch, are among the most welcoming and friendly people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Warm, attentive, and always available, they generously share their knowledge about the property, local wines to discover, the surrounding region, and the many activities available nearby. This place offers far more than just accommodation; it is a true retreat where guests can relax, recharge, and genuinely enjoy spending time. The location is exceptional, in the heart of a picturesque fortified village and just a short walk from a castle. The view is simply breathtaking and makes the experience even more memorable. Finally, the property is easy to reach thanks to the clear directions provided, and free, secure parking is available nearby. Everything has been thoughtfully designed to provide an authentic, welcoming, and high-quality experience. We leave with wonderful memories of our stay.

There are absolutely no negative points to mention. Honestly, everything was perfect.

The friendly welcome from the owners and the wonderful views from the terrace. There were lots of places to sit and enjoy the views as well as sitting areas indoors. We enjoyed being able to use the honesty bar and make ourselves at home. Eating in the evening on the terrace with Mitch's huge salads watching the sunset was amazing. They even managed to cope easily with us being vegetarians. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it.

Ein ganz außergewöhnlicher, großartiger Ort innerhalb des Festungsbereichs auf dem Burgberg. Einzigartiges Panorama. Gemütliches kleines Zimmer ganz oben, mit viel Holz aber modernem Bad. Mehrere Terrassen mit einem fantastischen, meilenweiten Rundblick über das Alentejo. Das mittelalterliche Haus ist liebevoll renoviert und hat eine warme, einladende Atmosphäre. Es gibt mehrere Aufenthaltsräume mit Zugang zu Getränken, so dass jede/r den Ort findet, wo man sich am wohlsten fühlt. Die Gastgeber Vicki und Mitch sind sehr freundlich, mit familiärem Umgang, aber ohne sich aufzudrängen. Mitch kocht abends, von einem kleinen, aber Abwechslung bietenden Menü. Sehr schmackhaft! Ich habe mich wunderbar betreut und sehr willkommen gefühlt. Absolute Empfehlung!

Alles war perfekt! Für die außergewöhnliche Lage oben auf dem Berg sollte man aber besser mit dem Auto unterwegs sein. Zu Fuß ist es ein ordentlicher Anstieg (für den die Gastgeber einen aber auch unten abholen würden).

Tolle Lage mit magischem Ausblick. Unglaublich liebenswerte und bemühte Gastgeber. Geräumige und moderne Suite in schönem Altbau. Wir kommen wieder.👍

The sunset views on the upper terrace were exceptional. Vicki and Mitch were outstanding hosts. They communicated very well about the area, their property and things to do. The breakfast we purchased was phenomenal.

I loved it from the first minute I drove up and saw Vicki’s smiling face waving to me . The properties setting is unmatched . I was the only one for the two nights and was upgraded to the most spectacular room. I literally cried when I walked in. Vicki and Mitch made my stay perfect. I was sad to go. It’s set inside of Castle walls on the top of a high hill. You drive through the castle arch to enter . SPECTACULAR in every way ❤️

That I couldn’t extend my stay because they were booked the day I left .

A lovely place. In a tiny town with amazing views and easy access (by car) to the rest of the Alentejo. Spotless, comfortable room with a great bathroom. Vicki is an amazing host, Mitch is a great cook (ask for his special vegetarian pizza 😉). We enjoyed our time here very much - obrigada Vicki and Mitch!

Um sítio inesquecível. Os hosts são maravilhosos, super atenciosos que nos tratam como uma verdadeira família. Os hosts acolhem-nos logo com um abraço e um sorriso, preparam o pequeno almoço de manhã com produtos regionais e saudáveis e dedicam um pouco do curto tempo que dispõem a conversar connosco. A vista é maravilhosa, os quartos são ainda melhores do que as fotografias. Localização muito privilegiada no Alentejo, perfeita para um central hub para visitar outras cidades como Évora, Montemor, Monsaraz, Vila Viçosa, Estremoz, Mora. A simpatia dos donos do alojamento é verdadeiramente incrível, com várias sugestões de programas à volta do alojamento para tornar a experiência verdadeiramente inesquecível. A regressar brevemente certamente.

The guesthouse is located in a beautiful small village with a castle and old walls. The rooms are cozy and give a warm, homely feeling. The hosts were wonderful, breakfast was excellent, and the terrace with its incredible view made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended.

Die Lage inmitten einer alten Festungsanlage mit phantastischer Aussicht ist einfach traumhaft. Dazu reizende Gastgeber, die einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen ablesen. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir wären gerne länger geblieben.

The Place ist einfach traumhaft! Die wunderschöne Lage mit unendlichem Weitblick, direkt neben einer gewaltigen Burg. Das Haus ist wunderschön, sehr geschmackvoll, liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber und gepflegt. Wir wurden sehr herzlich aufgenommen, bestens betreut und verpflegt. Frühstück und Abendessen ließen keine Wünsche offen. Wir bekamen sehr viele wertvolle Informationen, Unterlagen und Tips für Ausflüge in der näheren Umgebung! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr, sehr genossen und uns wie zu Hause gefühlt! Eine absolute Empfehlung! Ein herzliches Dankeschön an Vicki und Mitch!

This place is a gem in the middle of Alentejo. Placed on a hill top, next to a castle. With an amazing view all over Alentejo. Wow. It was so nice and peaceful and the view was to die for. Vicky and Mitch were such wonderful hosts, and we really felt welcome from the moment we arrived. They are so easy going, kind and helpful, and it was so wonderful to spend a few days with them here at their home. I would recommend this place to everybody that wants to visit Alentejo.

We just finished an amazing 3 night stay at The Place Evoramonte! These accommodations sit high on a hill right next to a castle… and the view is spectacular! Mitch and Vicki were such wonderful hosts. They meet our every need. The included breakfasts were delicious… fresh squeezed juice, variety of coffees, cooked to order eggs and omelets plus a variety of of cheeses, meats, breads and more. Vicki and Mitch were the most gracious and welcoming hosts! The breakfast was superb, as were the dinners we ate there! The accommodations were clean, comfortable and next door to an amazing castle! What can’t be described in words was the most magnificent, never-ending views that go on forever! As visitors, we were very well taken care of, given great advice on what to experience in the area and would most certainly love to go back!

This place is like a fairytale. You drive into the castlewalls and from you room you have the most amazing views. Also the hosts were absolutely the best.

Wonderfully attentive hosts made our stay quite enjoyable. Picturesque location adjacent to the old castle. Ample grounds included a rooftop veranda, a breakfast patio, and additional quiet spaces under flowering pergolas. Breakfast was prepared to order and plentiful in both variety and quality. Vicky even made me a decaf coffee with soy milk! Dinner was welcome after a long day of sight-seeing, accompanied by hand-picked local red wine. Our hosts provided many suggestions for sights to see as well as dining locales. We loved the nearby tile museum!

We wished we would have allowed another day to tour a local winery and marble quarry.

We loved the location within the walls of Evoramonte Castle. Our room was charming and comfortable. The hosts, Vicky and Mitch, were welcoming, informative and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Dinner was also available. It was lovely to sit out on the balcony to watch the sunset with dinner. Free car parking was available a 1 minute walk away. We would hghly recommend The Place at Evoramonte.

Location, the setting and the hosts.

The Place at Evoramonte is now my new favorite place to stay. The property is gorgeous! The rooms are so comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. The views from the room, terraces, and patio are absolutely breathtaking. Vicki and Mitch were the nicest hosts, from the moment we arrived to the time we had to head home. We were greeted as we drove up, Mitch brought up our luggage and Vicki showed us around our room, the various seating areas throughout the house, the patio, and the cafe. We had breakfast there both mornings that we were there and dinner one night. The food was delicious and I was so surprised to learn that they had gluten-free bread since I have an allergy, this was so unexpected, but SO APPRECIATED! If you have any food allergies, be sure to let them know when you make your reservation (just to be sure that they know ahead of time). If you're planning a trip to Evora or that area, stay in Evoramonte and avoid all the crowds.

Fantastic stay. Good to get off the main stream and enjoy the quiet with amazing home cooking. Stay here could not have been better. Everyone should take the opportunity.

Views are outstanding, central location to everything the Alentejo region has to offer.. The “Place” is spotless! The hosts go above and beyond to make you feel welcome…we travel a lot, but Vicki and Mitch are exceptional in this regard. You can sense that they love what they do and want to share their special “Place” with you. If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Portugal, to roam around, explore and find adventure off the beaten path… Look no further, you have found “The Place”!

Vicki & Mitch go out of their way to make you feel at home. We arrived in temps of high 30s and Vicki pounced onto our suitcases and lugged them up into our room with seemly no effort. Shes a real little energiser. The room was cozy, bed was comfortable and view stunning from our terrace. The breakfast was the standout, the music nice, the chat fun, and the food fulling and fresh. Mitch makes amazing omelette's. You have to try the burger with his special Sth African sauce. They are great guides for pointing you in the right direction for things to see & do.

Vicki and Mitch are amazing hosts! So friendly and helpful, they gave wonderful recommendations for things to do and see as well as places to eat. They will also cook you dinner if you want to stay in for the night. (Mitch does a great job with both breakfast and dinner!) The hotel itself is adorable and I loved being enclosed inside the castle walls and right next to the castle, a very unique experience. Our room was quite large with an amazing view, be sure to get a room with a balcony if you can but don’t worry if you can’t, there is also a roof top terrace for everyone to enjoy! There is so much to experience in this area, I would definitely come back here again and stay longer!

10/10, just a dream come true - a great location right in the castle, an unbelievable view at mountain and things around, and, of course, a constant help from the owners 🙏☺️

The highlight of our month of travels! From our private terrace we viewed a midevil tower and a 180’ unobstructed view of a valley and 6 ranges of mountains. Hosts became like family and evening meal offerings were delicious- home style- all a respite from typical traveling!!!

location, unique,simply stunning 180 degree views in an authentic medieval hill top fortification/village, the castle is 2 steps outside your private entry if you stay in the room 4 with free standing bath tub, enormous bathroom area/ separate shower all done in marble with massive marble basin area . air con / mini kitchen with microwave/kettle/coffee plunger and huge fridge , plenty of hot water/very comfortable with outside terrace seating and blankets for extra comfort. mitch and vicki are the best hosts ever, after a weeks stay we felt like friends , a beautiful breakfast was prepared each morning for us - amazing . staying at the place at evoramonte is your best choice in the region to explore, elvas, estremoz, monsaraz, marvao, castelo de vide, etc. each morning the views change from mist/fog to glorious crystal clear mountians in the distance, you can visit the castle/ craft shops and walk on castle walls.

Amazing hospitality in a quaint, charming location. Staying with Vicki and Mitch was like staying with family. The location is so peaceful and serves as a great base for exploring the Alentejo region. Vicki had incredibly helpful itinerary recommendations both before and during our trip. Mitch is a fantastic cook. We stayed in for dinner one night and had the duck and the pizza. Both were incredible. If you like duck definitely give it a try. I can’t recommend this place enough. It looks remote but it’s really well situated for exploring the area and doing day trips (however once you’re there you might not want to leave because the view is so nice 🙂). Estremoz is really close if you want to venture in to town for dinner and the little cafe at the bottom of the hill was a fun place to grab a drink.

The owners, Vicki and Mitch, were genuinely warm and welcoming. They always asked if there was anything we needed. They were wonderful to chat with and the food was great. They give you a list of restaurants in the area, but we ate dinner there both nights and were not dissapointed. Best hamburger I have ever had and you have to try the brownie. And a beautiful wine selection. The views from their large terrace were outstanding. Their place was set inside the outer walls of a castle that was well worth seeing. You need a car or taxi to get around, but there is so much to do in the surrounding towns that are very close by. We highly recommend staying here.

Gorgeous view!!!! Very warm and friendly hosts! Would recommend this for anyone wanting to enjoy the area! Very unique accommodations, though a bit small. The only slight disappointment was the balcony was not accessible directly from our room and was shared with another guest. When we booked through Expedia it seems this was not made clear. We give an absolute 5 star rating to the wonderful hosts!!!

We stayed at the Place at Evoramonte in mid October and it was a gem to say the least! The hosts Vicki and Mitch are top notch and are so warm and welcoming. The location at the top of mountain beside a castle, in a historic village surrounded by medieval walls with stunning views and in prime distance from many attractions and just can't be beat! We loved our stay here and would love to come back again! We had a large veranda with our suite and had pre dinner drinks overlooking the valley and watched the sun go down and even managed to catch a griffin vulture soaring over the valley. Dinner from the restaurant did not disappoint and we even had our own private dinner on the patio. Breakfast was classic european style and very good. Really can't say enough good things about this place and really hope to make it back there!

Excellent room and service, beautiful views and good food

Vicki and Mitch were fantastic hosts going way out of the way to assist us in visiting a local beekeeper in the area, providing advice on what to see and do and assisting in findind a restuarant for the evening that their's was closed. You could not ask for a more beautiful location and besides the quiet area with a 180 degree plus view, the sunsets were fabulous. Most comfortable beds we experienced. Would definately stay again and have already recommended them to friends.

The Place at Evoramonte was incredible. Vicky the owner was so helpful, she really went above and beyond. The hotel room was very clean and excellently blended modern touches with historic features. The view from the roof terrace was breathtaking. While we were only there for one night, Vicky has drawn up a detailed map of everything there is to do in the surrounding area and we can't wait to come back and stay for much longer in the future!

Fomos recebidos por um casal muito simpatico. O quarto eh aconchegante e o banheiro eh UAU!! super limpo. Muitas toalhas e papel. Deixou para gente um kit de banho maravilhoso. A ducha era perfeita. O local lindo!! Muito silencioso a vista eh perfeita!! Otimo local pra namorar!!

The Place is a beautiful guesthouse located above a restaurant. The room was great with a modern bathroom. The views of the rolling hills and castle were indescribable. Definitely recommend staying here!

The view was spectacular! It was almost 360 degrees around the surrounding countryside, with a rooftop patio that faces the setting sun. The location beside the Fort was magical. It is one of the nicest views that we have ever experienced from a hotel or B & B in our travels. Later at night, the rooftop terrace is a perfect location for star gazing. We loved it.
