Holiday Inn Club Vacations Hill Country Resort at Canyon Lake

Have no fear if you're planning to stay here in the coming weeks. We just returned from a great 4 day and night stay at HICV's Hill Country Resort at Canyon Lake. Excellent accommodations in a 2BR-2Bath villa with a full kitchen. Brookshire Brothers grocery store is very close by and convenient. Enjoyed lounging at their pool and hot tub, playing mini-golf and ping pong, taking the short drives to nice hikes at Canyon Lake Gorge ($5/person) and the lake's dam, Canyon Park Drive, Madrone Trail and its pollinator garden. Had good dinners at nearby Italian Garden and Guadalajara restaurants. Day trip to downtown San Antonio to visit the Alamo and other Spanish mission historic sites just south of town, then strolled the famous River Walk. The nice gentleman who checked us in at registration told us this resort will be shutting down in late December and HICV will put it on the market for sale. It will interesting to see if another timeshare company acquires it, or if all of its buildings are converted to condos for sale and/or apartments for rent.

The Staff was wonderful and the room was outstanding - way beyond what we anticipated. we will defiantly be back.

I stayed at two different locations during my stay. The first villa was upgraded and sleek! The second could use some smart televisions and the laundry dryer didn’t dry my clothes. The small appliances on the kitchen countertops need to be moved and countertops cleaned underneath after each guest!

Easy location to find. Perfect location for a small town. Bed Z& pillows were excellent.

My stay was for 3 nights. I expected daily 'room fresh' take used towels/trash. make the bed (not change) only 2 coffee pkts. I had to call and ask for more. I got the coffee but no cream/sugar. was I expected to use 2 towels/1 wash cloth for 4 days? Little things are appreciated!

Lack of mirrors. Only one in the whole property (n the bathroom).

Staff was friendly and available. Room was dusty and could have been cleaner, but i didnt complain, so really no opportunity for them to fix it. Price was very reasonable for what i got. Overall not disappointed in my choice.

The check in process was fun! The staff gave us many suggestions for trails and things to do of our interest. They gave us an upgrade and a room near the pool. It was my best experience checking in ever.

Not worth the money. Rooms are outdated and loud. There are no sidewalks around some of the units, so not ADA friendly. If you want to walk anywhere you are walking on the side of the road. Price value for what you get is not worth it. Checkin staff said property is going up for sale, so maybe improvements will come along.

We stayed in a one bedroom villa for our anniversary for three days. The room, (more like an apartment) was great. It was clean and very well kept. It was well stocked with everything, pots, pans, baking ware, dishes, plates, and silverware. The kittchen appliances were either new or very well cared for. It appeared to be either new or newly remodeled. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and clean. Great parking right outside our building with an elevator to take you to the four floors. We ate in the cafe one evening, they had good food and lots of choices.

Absolutely fantastic had all amenities everything needed. Staff was excellent and couldn’t have been treated better!! I look forward to my next stay.

Pool was too small, it got filled pretty quick. One of the showers had very little shampoo and conditioner.

Great place with awesome amenities! I wish we could have stayed closer to the main entrance and check in area. We were across on the other side of the highway.

The room was large and very well equipped. The kitchen was very welcome. The cost was low for the value.

Registration was slow mostly because it was Labor Day weekend. There was a live band at the pool, but it guieted down around 10 PM.

The ambassador suite is beautiful, beds are very comfortable, washer/dryer in room, plenty of fun activities both for free or at a minor cost. You can borrow dvds and board games. Kitchen stocked with dishes, pots/pans, and ice maker in freezer. Multiple swimming pools. Perfect location.

This trip was an excellent choice .. our stay was relaxing and a fun experience... Too bad ur closing. It would be our home away from home if not .. we enjoyed it

The stay overall was amazing the only thing that I would consider “negative” is parking.. kind of hard to find parking if you get back late as there isn’t enough spot for everyone we had to park in an entirely different area and walk but other than that it was amazing!

Best room I’ve stayed in in a while and the best rates too. Alexis was amazing getting us checked in. Super convenient for concerts, floating the river, or a day on the lake!

There were some people playing loud music with explicit lyrics below us. We also could smell marijuana. I would suggest the security make more rounds.

The pool was amazing and the scenery was beautiful. Had fun and the arcade and did a load of laundry for free!!

When we booked we didn't know we were getting a full setup: kitchen, living room, dining room. The site didn't say the type of bed we would get and we thought we would get 2 queens but it was 1 king. The bathroom floor has a large soft spot and crack. We notified management and were given the opportunity to move. We didn't as it was just a few nights. The pool area was super nice and clean. We saw there were activities offered but we didn't use them as we just needed a place to crash at the end of the day. Having the full kitchen was super nice. Price per night was amazing for what we received. We would totally stay here again and would have family and friends stay here too. Super close to everything and a great place.

Our family stayed in a villa with a kitchen, living area, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was really nice to be able to put the kids to bed, but not have to go to bed at the same time. Also really nice to have the option to cook at the hotel instead of always dining out. We had a view of the lake, and a patio. Loved having options for onsite activities like the multiple pools, mini golf, etc. Ae did one day trip to visit the Alamo and a second to go to Schlitterbahn. We will definitely be back to visit Jacob’s well and the white water amphitheater and maybe to go tubing at the river. Some of the decor choices were a little mismatched, but I don’t really care about that. The kitchen knives were in a drawer that my 5 year old could reach so we had to immediately move those. It also would have been nice to have more than one regular coffee in the room. But again really comfortable place for my family - highly recommend!

Great central location in canyon lake. 30 minutes to everything, San Antonio New Braunfels and the Horseshoe Bay is about hour.

It was however check in office needs more personal to assist guest

Room was very clean and comfortable. Check in was a breeze and the staff was wonderful. Plenty of things for kids to do and local restaurants are just right around the corner.

So we booked the Grand Villa room. Pictures were not even like what the room was. The room wth the jazzi yub in it was out dated. The tub was so durty we couldnt run the jets. Because old dirt and hair and other crap was coming out of the jets. It was very nasty. The floors and everything were nothing like the pictures. I was very disappointed that the whole reason we booked there was for the jazzi and couldn't even use it.

It’s a nice resort,we had the one bedroom villa, plenty of space,comfortable beds,clean room, fully equiped kitchen, everything was ok.

The bathroom at the pool was not clean,no toilet paper,dirty towels on the floor.Probably the only complaint.

Entire property was very clean, modern and easy accessible to all amenities!!..Our Villa was very clean and had everything to our satisfaction in unit..!!...My granchild and I did enjoyed it very much , and the fun was always on our side 😀 😊 Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to keep this property nice, clean and enjoyable 😉 😀

We were on a business trip, so we were not able to enjoy all the vacation amenities available. However, the villa was fantastic and the check-in a great experience. We received several follow-up text messages to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were enjoying our stay. Check out was also simple; just sent a text message telling staff when we left and let them know the room was available to clean. Would defiantly recommend this establishment for vacations or extended stays.

Everything. We stayed in the other side of the main road and I loved there was a pool by the apartments. We wished we had more the 3 days here.

Le logement était très chaleureux, l'accueil très bien , Sam était super ! Les piscines sont incroyables. Nous n'avons pas pu aller dans le lac malheureusement mais Hill Country était vraiment un super endroit où séjourner.
