This was my first time at the Park James and I hope to come back again. The hotel is very clean, well designed, and has a calming, welcoming vibe. The staff were super helpful. The gym has high quality equipment. I could walk to most locations in Menlo Park too. Overall a great stay.

The rooms were beautiful, the food delicious, and the staff goes above and beyond. Definitely booking here again. A+++++

Great dot near Menlo Park and close to 101 and el Camino where the best acupuncture and sushi live ! Try the spirits hip clean and relatively realistic in price !

Park James is a wonderful hotel. I came here for my 25th MBA reunion at Stanford. The hotel is not corporately owned, which makes a difference. The staff is warm and helpful. I've had hundreds of hotel stays in my 56 years of life. This is one of the best!

This was my first time staying at the Park James; my daughter and I were visiting for a horse show. Park James is a smaller boutique hotel; it offers spacious well decorated rooms, the staff was warm and inviting and the food at the restaurant was amazing. I will definitely stay here agsin

What a lovely stay! This hotel is small, intimate, and beautifully designed, every detail feels intentional. I loved that they’re LEED certified, too; sustainability matters to me, so it was great to see a property that clearly cares about its environmental impact. The staff were exceptional genuinely warm, attentive, and they remembered my name from the moment I walked in. That kind of personal touch makes a huge difference. Having a restaurant on-site was a great bonus, and the location in Menlo Park couldn’t be better. Close to my office, with tons of great restaurants nearby. My one wish: a pool or hot tub would make it even better. But that’s a small note in an otherwise excellent experience. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a lovely, easy stay! The gals at check-in were really sweet to our doggy, and Josh was super-duper accommodating at check-out. My husband enjoyed taking his meetings from the outdoor patio, and we felt like the breakfast and happy hour options on site were pretty good. Walkable to good coffee shops and restaurants. Be aware that the only self-parking option is street parking. Room had a sound machine to drown out any traffic/hallway noise.

Park James was sleek, clean and offered a nice, comfortable stay. It's centrally located in an area where you can easily walk to and attain. The aesthetics of the hotel really go unmatched. My only qualm was the parking needing to be valet, therefore paying for the parking. Although the valet were very attentive and quick, can't complain about that. We did notice a scuff on our rental- since we bought rental insurance it didn't bother us too bad. However if it was our own car, it would be irritating. Other than that our stay was hospitable and close to the station that we needed to access to go to the Stanford Stadium. Overall would stay again---just wish parking were free

We stayed at Park James last week and had such a wonderful experience. The hotel is in an excellent location in Menlo Park, within walking distance of downtown, making it easy to explore the area. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted immediately by the front desk team and felt genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the décor feels luxurious without being overdone. Our room was beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. We had a room with a Juliet balcony, which was a lovely touch—you can open it up and let in the fresh air if you're not a fan of air conditioning. I was also happy to see the return of the in-room minibar. The bottles felt a little large for individual consumption, but they would make a great last-minute gift. Another standout feature was the water carafes in the rooms—yes to less plastic! The beds and pillows were immaculate and honestly among the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The hotel uses Frette linens, towels, and robes, and you can absolutely feel the difference. Everything was incredibly soft and plush. My only small suggestion would be to include slippers in the room, although they may be available upon request. I also appreciated the thoughtful amenities in the bathroom. They provide a bag of essentials with a dental kit, shaving kit, and vanity kit. To me, that's what luxury is all about—anticipating guests' needs before they even ask. We had dinner at Oak + Violet, which is helmed by a Michelin-star-awarded chef. The flavors throughout the meal were excellent. The fried oyster and oyster crema that accompanied the beef tartare were incredible—I would order that component by itself every single time. The Sizzling Monterey Bay Squid Salad was another highlight of the evening. My partner and I shared the Pt. Reyes Grass Fed Beef Strip Sirloin. It came with a "beef crackling," which I wish had been cut a little smaller and fried slightly longer for more crunch. However, the potato purée served alongside it was outstanding—easily one of the best I've had in the Bay Area. For dessert, we ordered the House Made Cinnamon Roll Sundae, and it absolutely stole the show. The house-made cinnamon roll is hands down one of the best dessert items I've had and, without question, one of the best cinnamon rolls in the Bay Area. It's a must-order. Service at Oak + Violet was equally impressive. The servers and bartender were incredibly knowledgeable. Since I wasn't drinking alcohol, the bartender noticed and created a non-alcoholic strawberry drink just for me so my partner wouldn't be drinking alone. That level of attentiveness and craftsmanship is rare and truly memorable. Shout out to Mostefa—he is a fantastic addition to the Park James team. Breakfast the next morning was also very enjoyable. We had the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich, both of which were filling and delicious, and I appreciated the California juice selection. Overall, our stay at Park James was exceptional. We felt welcomed, cared for, and genuinely appreciated as guests. The atmosphere and vibe of the property are spot on for the price point. While the hotel may be smaller than some of the larger luxury brands, it delivers something that many big-box hotels often struggle to provide: authentic, genuine hospitality. We will definitely be back.

Park James is a charming, boutique hotel that provided very comfortable accommodations. It was easy to drive to from SF Airport, and valet service made parking very convenient. I would stay there again the next time I visit Menlo Park.

Park James is 10/10. If you are searching for a beautiful space for an event, look no further. The hospitality and attention to detail is what separated Park James from other Venues we visited. Krizthal from the start was amazing. The night of the event Daniel was very hospitable. Lyle the GM is one of the best. The hotel staff from check in to managers in front office were outstanding as well.

Very friendly staff - Sabina is being extremely helpful - I was trying to watch ChromeCast but was having tech trouble connecting HDMI to the TV, Sabina got it all worked out. I stayed for 4 days here for business trip, and she has been helping me with all the deliveries, etc. The hotel has great location as well. Will recommend to anyone.

Excellent hotel in a great neighborhood which is easily walkable to downtown Menlo Park and for the more adventurous Palo Alto. The rooms are extremely clean and modern. All staff I encountered from the housekeepers to the car valets were professional and engaging making me and my husband feel right at home.

Traveling with family can sometimes be stressful, but our stay at the Park James Hotel was exceptional from start to finish. We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check in early, which immediately set the tone for a relaxing stay. We had a fabulous meal at Oak + Violet — the cocktails were creative, the bourbon and scotch selection was extensive, and the overall dining experience exceeded expectations. What truly stood out was the service. Every interaction felt graceful, attentive, and genuine. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and much larger than expected. Lyle and his team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and truly special throughout our stay. If you are looking for a great hotel in the Menlo Park area, this is an absolute must-stay. When our travels bring us back to the area, we already know where we’ll be staying.

Loved my stay. Modern and upscale. Surprised at how high the ceilings were in the room, felt luxurious. Bed was very comfy, Im quite picky with sheets and theirs are excellent--buttery and soft smooth sheets. Eleni at the front desk was wonderful, she was helpful and efficient, and cared that I had a great time in Palo Alto. Wonderful experience. Wouldnt stay anywhere else if I come back.

My fiance and I came here to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing time. The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely nice. Tony helped us and he was very knowledgeable and his customer service was beyond! He really made our trip even better.

It’s like a luxurious present as soon as you step through the door. The property is exceptionally clean and the service standards show intentional passion by all. The best asset is Oak + Violet restaurant led by Executive Chef Joseph Humphrey, a Michelin-star chef who focuses on sustainability with seasonal, locally sourced California cuisine. I tried the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo, Warm Sacramento Delta Asparagus, the warm sourdough bread with the salted butter, and the Miso Barbecue Glazed Black Cod. For dessert- House Made Cinnamon Roll Sundae! For your morning breakfast, the cafe serves an array of offerings to fit your appetite style. In looking at the outside patio and the sleek, luxurious design of Park James, I can see this is a GREAT place to hold a EVENT! I’m looking forward to my return!

This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in, the vibes were super nice and the staff was really helpful the whole time. Tony the manager was really nice too and you can tell he actually cares, even when I had a million questions he was still patient and helpful. I went with my friends and it ended up being such a good stay, everything just flowed and we didn’t have to worry about anything. The rooms were super relaxing and the beds were so comfortable. Definitely a 10 out of 10 experience.

The Park James Hotel is a must stay! We visited for the first time on a recommendation for a friend and the hotel did not disappoint. From check in to check out we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff is amazing! From the front desk lobby to the restaurant and bar to the cleaning crew everyone was professional and friendly. Daniel, Renee, Jackie and Lyle helped make our stay the best. Not to mention the award winning food while eating at the outdoor patio. The atmosphere and ambiance were outstanding... cozy and comfortable. My family and I stayed here for a few nights while my granddaughter visited Stanford. We traveled from Seattle. The accommodations were wonderful. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well appointed. The staff were the most friendly I have ever encountered. I have eaten at a lot fine restaurants and food ranked among the best. Lyle, the GM was attentive and made us all feel like we celebrity guests. I wish I cold rate this higher than a 5.

The service was top notch and stood out to me the most! Eleni at the front desk was wonderful. I was here for work and nervous about traveling as a new mom. Eleni went above and beyond to accomodate my nursing needs. I never leave reviews, but did just so I could give her this shout out! She definitely made the stay 10/10! The rooms were updated and clean with high end amenities. I also appreciated that they were focused on sustainable efforts. Location is also in the heart of downtown, so lots of great food options, cafes and bookstores that are walking distance. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m traveling for work.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. The design is refined and full of personality. The staff are thoughtful and attentive. I love the pour over coffee in the rooms! Overall, it felt like far more of a high end luxury experience than I would have expected for the price.

Colleagues and I had the most exceptional time staying at the Park James hotel in Menlo Park. The hotel is modern, clean and boasts an excellent food menu, cocktails and wine list. The staff is all super friendly and helpful 24/7. Lyle the general manager is kind, friendly and genuinely cares about your experience. Daniel the bar manager makes a delicious cocktail and is very friendly. It felt like staying with family, a home away from home in an excellent location. We’ll be back!

Five stars. I stayed at Park James for my birthday and it was such a great experience. Sabina was incredible, she made us feel welcome right away and checked in on us throughout the night. You can tell she genuinely cares, and that energy carries through the whole staff. Everyone was friendly and made things feel so seamless. The ambiance was boldly classy. The live music, they had a harpist going on, gave the space so much character and made the night feel special without being overwhelming. The food was honestly so good, one of those meals you keep talking about after you leave. Valet was surprisingly fast, which made a big difference, especially on a busy night. Always nice to see. It was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday. Huge thank you to Sabina and the entire team for making it such a memorable night. I’ll definitely be coming back. _______ P.S, I love the e-tip QR codes, especially if I didn't make it to an ATM on the way. And the glass pitchers in the room instead of $8 plastic water bottles is a major win. Thoughtful touches always seem so simple yet are so rare.

My stay at this hotel was short, but it was nice. The rooms were spacious and clean, and I got some really good sleep in that king bed. I really liked the hand soap and lotion. They smelled good and it was nice to have something to moisturize my hands with after washing them as much as I do. I did not take advantage of the bar/café, but that was a very nice addition. I also want to shout out this hotel for their friendliness, kindness and security. I had placed a delivery order and wanted the driver to come up to my room and leave the order there but before allowing the driver up the hotel called my room to confirm that I was okay with this. I think that speaks volumes to their security and attentiveness. The location of the hotel is also really nice and close to a major shopping center.

In an unexpected need and turn of event, my family member and I spent the Christmas / New Years holiday at the Park James. The hotel room is super clean. I heard traffic sounds and people from upstairs footsteps - so the sound insulation is not like those bunker-quiet large hotels, but neither bothered me much. I loved the hardwood floors and the floor to ceiling window that could be opened for fresh air. The hotel is a small boutique hotel without a big lobby or pools but it served its purpose wonderfully. To be in the middle of Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Atherton is special. Sabina, Aris, Josh, Eleni, and Mr. Lyle Tanaka (general manager) are wonderful front desk staff that made us feel welcome and in short this was our home away from home for the holidays. A most unusual holiday season this was.

I had such a wonderful stay here! The front desk managers, Tony and a lovely lady whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, were so kind and helpful from the moment I arrived. My car carpet was extremely dirty and needed vacuuming — Tony and another male staff member went the extra mile and helped clean it for me. I’ve honestly never experienced such thoughtful service. The restaurant staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location couldn’t be more convenient — surrounded by great restaurants and shops, and close to Stanford. The valet parking was reasonably priced, and coming and going was super easy. Five days didn’t feel like enough. I’ll definitely be returning in the summer! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and genuinely caring service.

We booked here for Thanksgiving weekend to visit family and our stay was incredible! The location is very convenient and a short drive from SFO. Josh must be the hardest working person in hospitality. He was there when we checked in and when we checked out and couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful.

This hotel was top notch all the way. Every single detail was obviously carefully planned with both comfort and health in mind. There was coffee/tea in the room with a pour over, no dirty/wasteful Keurig. The restaurant had a mostly Organic menu with delicious food. In the bathroom, they used a Clean line of products (Juice Beauty), and instead of bottled water, there was easy access to a filtered water/ice station right near my room. Even the room keys were made of wood, not plastic. Everything was so clean and well designed. Internet access was quick and easy and had a solid connection. I wish more hotels were like the Park James...they are setting the standard for guest accommodations. Staff were wonderful, too. I'm very sensitive to fragrance, and usually when I return home from a hotel, I immediately shower and wash everything to rid myself of whatever "signature scent" was pumped through (and the scented detergent they use for bedding), but not with the Park James! I came home smelling like myself! Not a trace of toxic fragrance at all. I wish all hotels were like this.

My stay was very pleasant! Traveling with a baby can be stressful at times, but everyone at the hotel was friendly and went out of their way to help. The front desk staff, especially Sabina was incredibly kind and accommodating she made everything so much easier for us. Brought my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner. Experience was great they really made me feel welcomed. Service was spot on and the food was amazing I had the New York Steak probably one of the best steaks I had in a while. I celebrated my 27th birthday here, and I’m so glad I did! My boyfriend surprised and took me here to celebrate, and it honestly made the night even more special. If I could give 100 stars, I would! I started with the sizzling Half Moon Bay squid and had the Miso Barbecue Glazed Black Cod for my main dish. Both were absolutely delicious. The sizzling squid especially reminded me of home because my mom used to cook this dish, and it brought back so many good memories. The customer service and ambiance were beyond amazing. I felt so welcomed and happy to celebrate my birthday here at Park James Hotel ❤️

Excellent hotel! Excellent location! Excellent accommodations! Will be back. But next time will try to experience restaurant or room service as well.

This was my first time at the Park James Hotel. I was there for a brain surgery at Stanford. I was really nervous going to into this but the staff were really accommodating and made my stay easy. They even helped with insuring I have a wheel chair available when needed. A huge thank you to the management team for making this process so efficient. Thank you Park James!

The property is beautiful, but we didn't realize we would be charged every day to park our car. Also, the room service staff are not well trained.

Love the Park James Hotel so much! Have to shout out 3 members that made my stay awesome thus far. Sabina, Tony Mhesin, and Josh Francisco. They should all be promoted based on their mindfulness and efficiency! I’ve stayed here a few years ago and now in Sept ‘25-and it’s still my top choice for a great boutique hotel vibe. Comfy beds, relaxing portable white noise machines, and CLEAN rooms. Thank you for a good (many nights) rest!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my stay at Park James. I’ve traveled often for work, but this was my first time traveling with my 3.5-month-old baby. I was very nervous, with so many things to consider like how I would store his frozen milk. Ahead of my trip, I called the hotel multiple times, and they were always so patient, walking me through everything they could do to accommodate both my needs and my baby’s. Tony and Josh (and the entire staff) were absolutely incredible throughout my entire stay. They helped with anything I needed and always with a smile. Whether you’re traveling for business or pleasure, I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

As a frequent business traveler, I always appreciate a hotel with clean rooms . Also having a bunch of amenities in and around the hotel is a huge plus . I was greeted with a welcoming staff . I will be back !!

I had a wonderful stay! From the moment I arrived, Sabina gave me such a warm and welcoming greeting that instantly made me feel at home. She was incredibly helpful throughout my stay, always attentive and making sure everything was comfortable. The bed was very cozy, and the food at O+V was delicious. Her kindness and professionalism truly made my experience enjoyable.

The Park James hotel was terrific. My room was beautiful and and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Gym was very nice with an outdoor area to work out in as well. Great stay!

Sabina was super helpful and always willing to run and grab things that I needed. At times she was the only employee there and still managed to help grab my car.

Hidden gem in Menlo Park. We stayed here when moving our son into a nearby college and it was great! Top notch service. Beautifully appointed - super cool decor. And pet friendly! An added perk as we had our dog with us. Highly recommend.

Lyle has gone Herculean to make stay wonderful. I spend 250 nights away and I think this is top 5 hotel properties that I frequent in Menlo Park. Oak & Violet our performed “Shelby “ by 3 fold. Try this the food is max.

Our second stay at the Park James has been great. Easy check in, very friendly and attentive staff. The rooms are smallish but we aren’t in ours much. The bartender is wonderful - educated us about some CA wines we didn’t know of, and made an effort to be extra welcoming and nice. The sliding door to the bathroom is really heavy, and bathrooms could use towel bars if they want us to dry/re-use towels, but these are minor complaints . We were in town for a music festival (Music at Menlo) just blocks away so the location was perfect. Lots of good places to eat nearby. Easy uber to and from SFO so we have walked everywhere.

I wish they have self parking option.

The room is clean & staff are friendly. The restaurant at the hotel also offers excellent food. It's a popular option for locals.

My fiancée and I stayed at Park James Hotel for a night and really enjoyed our time there. The place has a nice modern feel but still feels cozy and welcoming. Our room was super clean and comfortable — just what we needed. Sabina at the front desk was great. She was really friendly but also professional, and made the whole check-in process easy. Overall, a really good experience. We'd definitely stay here again if we're back in the area.

We had a wonderful experience at Park James Hotel. The staff was incredibly welcoming, the room was spotless and comfortable. Everything from check-in to check-out was smooth. The food at Oak+Violet restaurant was top-notch. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Once again The Park James delivers. Very happy. If I had one wish it would be for the kitchen to be open later (last call 8:45). If appetizers were available from the bar till midnight or so, that would be great
