The room was superb, ours included a little patio, parking was easy, staff friendly and polite.

You do need to have a conversation about a vegan breakfast, the one on the menu is vegetarian, but the staff were extremely helpful with this and the food very good.

Room could get a bit stuffy, but the provided fan helped immensely. Could use 2 chairs instead of just one, since we both like to sit and enjoy a coffee in the morning without sitting on the bed.

Nice little place but staff were not particularly welcoming . Felt they did their job but nothing more , . Food was excellent and a birthday platter was provided for my partner which was very nice . Considering what we paid for the room i did expect a slightly warmer welcome . We were not asked on leaving if we enjoyed our stay . The room was lovely but customer service could do with improvement.

The bath needs grab handles and a rubber mat for the shower as it’s very slippery. Shower head also needs attention as it sprays all over the bathroom making the floor slippery as well

Very comfy beds, great bathroom, staff are lovely, and a short drive from the Grangefields wedding venue.

In hot weather the rooms can be a bit stuffy. The green emergency exit light is also unnecessary and very bright, lighting up the entire room, so I would recommend bringing an eye mask.

Black mould behind shower head The thermostat in the room didn’t work and the fan didn’t help at all The skylight was left with blind over the bed so made it hot.

Room 4 had a slight water leak from the bathroom radiator (reported to staff on first night of two day stay), informed there were no other rooms available so I ensured a small hand towel was positioned at all times on floor to stop water travelling across tiles posing a risk falling for either myself or my elderly mother. Reminded a different member of staff on checking out the issue was still there and needed addressing before anybody had an accident falling. Net curtains on french doors leading out to the patio were ripped in several places which let the room down. No air con, portable fan only - stayed during an unexpected heatwave so rooms were very warm at night. Reserved a table for dinner at 7pm, on the first day, we both looked forward to sampling fresh fish (Haddock) but when ordering we were informed there was none left. The private patio had not been swept for quite some time, this was obvious as either side of the patio had piles of dead leaves. The lawn had not been cut or weeded and needed much attention, a shame as the outlook had potential but had not been executed. Day 2, came back from attending a Wedding, house keeping had been but not emptied bin in the bathroom or bedroom so they were overflowing on the 3rd morning before check out. Beds had not been made either, we had tidied both up a little before leaving the room and expected to find them re-made fully on returning which is normally the case. Complimentary water, milk and coffee pods had been restocked however which we were grateful for. Fresh towels provided too which was nice.

The staff were very good and the manager was exceptionally kind, making my wife a sandwich which was not on the menu and was need very quickly as we were quite late for a wedding. The pub itself is beautiful and the room we had was excellent.

The room was nicely decorated, with a great bathroom / shower. Well appointed - good tea / coffee facilities. Restaurant / bar area very cosy and feels like a posh country pub - exactly what we were hoping for. Bed was comfortable and nice quality linen and pillows.

Overall, we were very happy and would stay again. However, there were some small areas for improvement. Two hairs in the bathroom, one under the toilet seat, one on top of the bath. The food was good, almost excellent. The crab tempura was slightly overwhelmed by the raw onion in the slaw - suggest using something milder. The skin on the sea bream was not crispy enough. It wasn’t unpleasant, but I wouldn’t have served it like that. The bedroom was very warm - we slept with the window fully open all night, a fan is provided however. The breakfast was a little greasy, there was too much oil / fat on the plate. The sausage, bacon and black pudding were all good quality though. Scrambled eggs were firm, I wouldn’t order again. We had high expectations based on our evening meal, but breakfast fell short of the same standard, but by no means poor. Just not great. Only got 3 cups of tea from a pot of tea for two, just needed a little more!

Breakfast took 1 hour 15 minutes to arrive, sausages and bacon were over cooked, breakfast was expensive and we were charged extra for a hot drink on top. Not once did the staff come to the table and explain and apologize for the long wait, only when we questioned it did she say "They are having issues in the kitchen"

Quiet in restaurant however sold out of most options at our time of dining 7.45pm. Poor value for money versus quality of experience. Breakfast appalling, waited 45 minutes before giving up and leaving without, several tables had been waiting for over an hour when we left

The customer service was fab even before arrival as I had a number of questions as booking for a group. Staff accommodated our needs & were attentive helped to shape our stay with convenient table bookings over the weekend for food .

Very comfortable, beautifully designed and presented, fabulous location. Room no.7 is small but perfectly formed. Bed was low and soft, like sinking into a cloud, maybe not to everyone’s taste but perfect for me. Particularly taken with the tea and coffee choices in the room. Lovely walk in shower. Complimentary Molton Brown toiletries and quality bathrobes was such a nice premium touch. The room smelt amazing from the Molton Brown orange and bergamot reed diffuser. We didn’t have dinner as we dined elsewhere, but had a really good breakfast. Staff are professional and friendly. Cannot fault it at all.

A very well.appointed cottage in a brilliant location in the heart of Wooler. Everything was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was always very responsive when we had any queries. All the main attractions in Northumberland are easily accessible from Wooler so it's a brilliant place to stay to explore this beautiful county. I can highly recommend this lovely property.

There was a lack of attentivness when it came to cleanliness, cobwebs and dust in the room and restaurant. More attention to detail was needed. Amenities need to be improved; waited 45minutes for an iron from another room.
