OwlStay The Salt

The staff were lovely and helped us with everything we needed. The room was beautiful with plenty of space, comfy bed and gorgeous view with a balcony. We loved our stay.

Breakfast was a little late for some of our early starts. It wasn’t an issue though.

Far more welcoming than clinical hotel.

NA

The staff were really nice, the breakfast was delicious, and the property is right on the beach.

A lovely room, tastefully decorated, with a relaxing atmosphere. The location is excellent, right opposite the beach and within easy walking distance of the market and town centre. Having bicycles available was a great bonus!

The common area was not very pleasant and was extremely hot. It was also difficult to contact the staff outside their regular hours. The breakfast was disappointing, with limited choice, and was prepared in takeaway boxes

Cozy hotel at a great location (front row at the sea, walking distance to night merket). Super friendly staff (thanks especially to Bonny)

Location. Spacious room.

Breakfast was a boxed meal. The staff were friendly and helpful but often there weren’t any staff at the hotel when I needed help.

This was our second time staying at The Salt. We love the ambiance and culture of the hotel. The staff are amazing, kind, and helpful. We love the proximity to the beach, night market, and places to eat. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and met our needs!

None.

What an amazing surprise. Wonderful, well appointed room with huge floor to ceiling window that overlooks the ocean. Lovely bathroom with great shower and bath. Complimentary pour over coffee in rooms. Craft beer in the mini bar and tasty breakfast sandwiches. Bed was super comfortable with beautiful linen. Location is great, close to night markets and Hualien itself is a foodie’s paradise. Only slight downside is walking up the stairs to the 4th floor, which let’s face it, is where you want to be after eating your own weight in hot pot and dumplings.

That I couldn’t eat and drink any more.

The hotel enjoys a prime location, well-maintained facilities, and friendly service. However, I was very disappointed to discover that the room rate I booked two months in advance was actually higher than the walk-in rate available at the hotel. This was quite unbelievable and made me question the benefit of booking early.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was beautifully designed, spacious, and very comfortable, and the beds provided a great night’s sleep. The breakfast was also excellent and a great way to start each morning. We were able to park our car across the street overnight. it was a safe location with the view of the ocean. The hotel didn't have our number to contact us for our arrival, the staff made every effort to reach us through multiple communication platforms regarding our check-in time. We really appreciated their attentiveness and dedication. Check-in officially ended at 6:30 PM, and we arrived about 10 minutes late, but the staff was very accommodating and welcoming. Our room was conveniently located on the second floor, so we didn’t have to carry our luggage up too many stairs. Also the hotel is located 10 minutes walk to the East Gate Night market. The bikes on site a available for guests to rent out. Overall, we had a very relaxing and comfortable stay, and we would gladly return again.

Location, clean. Friendly gal, free bikes.

Pratique. Personne a l’accueil très sympathique. Propre.

Lady boss was extremely helpful. She recommended this Taiwanese breakfast rice ball stall, which was awesome. Rooms was clean and spacious. Wife loved the hairdryer so much, she bought the same model back home. Walk to the night market. Had many meals on the balcony. Especially that famous stinky tofu without worrying about lingering smell. Good place to hang wet clothes after beach/ATV. Free parking right in front of the hotel. Strangely got a ticket, but no fine awarded. Even the rental company was bemused.

Had to change to room slippers before going upstairs. Slightly tedious, but I'm used to Japanese house rules LOL.

Ruime kamer met uitzicht op zee. Medewerker vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ontbijt tosti's waren heel goed, vooral degene met champignons.

Niks

The staff was very kind and super helpful with everything details, even with the breakfast we said no meat and they were very sweet put it on a little note. Room was clean and comfortable, parking was easy and specially the area smells good and quiet. Amazing job!

Nothing actually

This hotel was so beautiful. We had a room with a few where we could sit and eat and have a coffee. Staff was exceptionally helpful, ordering a cab, allowing us to leave our luggage while we explored after our check out.. everything was clean and tastefully decorated. Even the water pressure was amazing! The breakfast sandwiches were delicious And the complementary espresso was just another bonus. Can’t see enough good things about this stay.

nothing

This emaculately clean motel is steps from the ocean shore. There are free bicycles to borrow to cruise up and down the nearby shoreline. Breakfast is served in baskets downstairs which you pre-select at check-in. They have a no outside shoes inside which helps keep the place very, very, tidy. There's free coffee and hot teas and water in the downstairs breakfast area, as well as a separate fully enclosed bathroom. The fridges are stocked with interesting and unique beers, that can be paid for via an honor system by depositing your funds into a cute glass jar abd grabbing your beer to enjoy. The room I booked had a pretty large balcony and sitting area, with extra room inside to also enjoy. Bed was very comfy, air conditioning, fridge and dehumidifier all working excellently. Oh super nice amenity is the Marshall Bluetooth speaker provided in the room. Just helped keep the overall beach vibes rolling.

There isn't an elevator, so bear that in mind if you're physically challenged or have heavy luggage. Also, the bathroom in the room doesn't have a door to close. Theres only a half cloth curtain, for those with shy bowels, heads up. Makes rooming with others interesting.

The staff was very cooperative. She organised breakfast, Taxi and many small things for us. The location of Hotel is excellent.

The problem is our room was on third floor and there was no lift and we had three big bags suitcases which we could not take it in our room, but honestly it doesn’t matter because we kept our suitcases on ground floor. Only it would have been better if the facility to take the bags in your room on third floor in a lift.

Large room with a great balcony. It was nice to hear the waves crashing on the beach. The location was great. You could walk to town and the night market. They gave you a breakfast sandwich each morning. You get to select what type of

There could have been a door on the bathroom! There is no elevator.

Really clean, great location, beautiful views!!! Really nice bikes and so close to lovely bike path by the sea

Very spacious rooms and well located in Hualien. staff is super helpful and helped us get a private driver for the Taroko national park for a decent price. would definitely recommend

the blinds are not exactly blacking out all light from outside

Location, vue

Location and space of the room were perfect

The view at the room I was staying in. Maybe we could have extra pillows in stead of 1each.

Love the place, has a artistic feel

Not their fault, no lift /elevator so need to navigate the steps

Friendly staff

Steep stairs Room on 4th floor No elevator

We liked everything. A very good room in a super hotel. We had a top floor double room with sea view. Great shower....and bath. Netflix, YouTube available. A tasty breakfast sandwich and good free coffee at any time. Bikes available for free use too. Friendly, helpful staff.

No door to the bathroom, just a half-curtain.

Rather faded feel but located right on the sea front. The room had a balcony looking out onto the sea. Being able to borrow bicycles was a really welcome bonus

Breakfast wasn't great

The staff were so kind and the room was beautiful, they also had free bikes to borrow which made travelling around town convenient. We had a really amazing stay! Thank you!

Bonny on reception was very helpful with a good sense of humour

Wonderful location next to sea, big cosy room with balcony, tap for drinkable water, free kaffe.

Great location, cozy, the staff are all trying to help.

There is no staff off normal hours.
