We should all spend a night in a castle! We really loved staying in this castle! Beautiful property, 10th century castle, nice big room, friendly staff, great service and elegant breakfast!

We stayed for just one night and were blown away by how stunning the chateau and its views. The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and attentive without being fussy. We stayed in the Napoleon suite which had incredible views of the Loire from the balcony. The room itself was huge with beautiful period furniture and features. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was very clean with double sinks and shower and all necessities supplied were good quality. We enjoyed great food and wine in the restaurant with a 3 course meal plus some additional delicacies. We definitely felt like we’d had a chateau experience and would recommend as a beautiful place to stay

This château feels like it’s been lifted straight out of a fairytale. Overlooking the Loire River, it offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature and silence. The breakfast was a true delight – delicious, distinctly French, and featuring some unique and exotic dishes. Our room was a royal experience: beautifully decorated, spacious, and impeccably clean; truly fit for a king and queen. This remarkable property transports you to another era and is the perfect base to explore the nearby castles of the Loire Valley.

Hotel is a great value but it’s really tired. It’s really in need of a remodel or at a minimum a refresh. Food service was impeccable but the food caliber was mediocre at best. The piece de resistance was when we woke up the next morning, ready for a big day only to discover there was no hot water. They didn’t just run out, there was literally no hot water fir days and there only response was “sorry, someone should have told you when you checked in”. No offer to discount, no accommodation, just sorry, no hot water

Local perfeito, castelo bem conservado, lindo e limpo, atendimento muito bom. As camas são pequenas, mesmo nos quartos mais caros, tipo cama de castelo mesmo.

Stayed here on a stop over for a trip further south, from the time to check in to check out we received great customer service and the views over the Loire valley were amazing. We will definitely stay again given the chance.

This is a very charming place. Be prepared for a lot of stairs. Leave time to wander the grounds; lovely plants andany birds singing!

We were not disappointed. The Napoleon room is outstanding. It’s like being in another world. The pictures don’t do it justice how opulent the room is. Make sure to poke your head in their wine cave.

The booking for dinner is really complicated, should be easier if you are staying there

Joli cadre dans un parc boisé, dommage que la signalétique ne permette pas d'arriver facilement à l'accueil de nuit. Il y a à ce niveau un premier axe d'amélioration. Le deuxième axe d'amélioration concerne le petit déjeuner qui est banal et ne correspond pas à celui attendu pour un 4*. Pain baguette, pain norvégien, quelques viennoiseries, yaourts, fromage, fromage blanc, oeuf brouillé, saucisse, lard, confiture industrielle, jambon, gravelax, oeuf dur, fruits, jus de fruits. Il manque des produits faits maison comme des gâteaux, brioches, un assortiment de charcuterie, des salades de fruits variées .... surtout pour un prix de 23€. La chambre en terrasse n'était pas au château mais nous avions une vue sur la Loire dès que nous arrivions au niveau du restaurant. En point très positif, le personnel de jour comme de nuit, à l'écoute et accueillant.

Good: location overlooking the Loire river Bad: floor carpet is not ideal for this type of property as the grounds are all pebbles with dirt paths. Terrasse rooms are small and look like motel rooms, not a castle rooms. The staff is not friendly and looks condescending. There are no restaurants nearby. We either have dinner at the hotel or travel to Saumur. There are just a few coffee capsules provided, enough for one day. We have to ask for more and we're instructed to pay for these. A warm welcome and an excellent room. Staff very helpful. A liitle disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the night of our stay (Monday) but the receptionist suggested local places to eat. She enquired on availability but all were booked. Drove to Saumur (15 minutes away) and found several restaurants. Breakfast was great and the views across the Loire river were uplifting. Would reccommend.

The property was lovely. Great location overlooking the Loire River. Audrey was wonderful when we checked in. She helped us get a dinner reservation for our first night and we were able to walk. Wish the restaurant had been open, but that can’t be helped. Breakfast was delicious on property. We felt like the wines in the bar were a little overpriced based on what we bought from the local vineyards. Lovely area to visit. Everyone we met were very friendly.

Super séjour d'une nuit. L'hôtel est superbe, la salle du restaurant l'est tout autant et la vue est magnifique ! C'est certain que ce n'est pas un hôtel dans lequel on va tous les jours. Mais pour autant c'est un hôtel qui vous sera inoubliable et ce même pour qu'une seule nuit

It changed ownership 6 years ago and this was my first visit since the change. It has lost some of the family charm, the menu is smaller, the house wine is now from Bordeaux from the owners vineyard and the internet in the bedrooms was inadequate. The stay was everything you expect from a four/five star establishment and the staff were of the correct calibre. The food remained exceptional. I probably will not be returning but would highly recommend if you want a romantic or peaceful weekend. The views over the Loure remain stunning.

L'endroit est magique ... mais ... mais ... mais ... ne pas tomber avec une famille "Tuche" à vos cotés car l’insonorisation est quasi nulle ! Quant à la publication sur Hotel.com elle est mensongère , car il n'y a pas de piscine et le mini golf il ne faut pas oublier ses clubs et sa balle. En revanche le restaurant est vraiment au TOP ainsi que le personnel .

Very nice and historic property with a great view. The restaurant is not open several days a week which was a downside given the remoteness, which left few options and made the place seem overly quiet. The staff were very very friendly and accommodating.

From my experience, the hotel doesn't quite live up to its billing as a 4 star property. (i.e. wifi totally unreliable, hair dryer wrapped with electrical tape and not working, leaky shower plumbing, dangerously slippery bathtub, peeling paint in the bathroom). The site has a spectacular view across the Loire but the property needs some upkeep. The saving grace was the staff who dealt with clients' concerns cheerfully and efficiently. Plus the housekeeping was top-notch.

Juste une nuit etape et un dîner au restaurant de l'hotel . La chambre (suite) etait immense et la literie tres confortable. La propriété parfaite. Par contre l air passe a travers les fenêtres simple vitrage et sans les convecteurs d appoint nous aurions eu froid.... Le repas était correct mais pas de choix et beaucoup trop cher! Le site est tres beau. La deco melange de "chateau", imitation Empire et kitch chinois......sans commentaire.....😱

Malgré un problème sur notre chambre initiale, il nous a été proposé une solution locale avec un surclassement le lendemain. Le séjour a été particulièrement agréable avec un service à hauteur A Recommander pour un séjour romantique…

The Chateau Le Prieure was an absolute dream! Very beautiful and an affordable price as well. The staff were friendly and the chateau is in a good location near town and a short drive to several wineries in the area. We would love to go back one day!

The stay was a very delightful experience. We were taken to our rooms by the receptionist and she explained all that we needed to know. The location gave views over the river valley. Breakfast on the terrace was great. The breakfast was of good quality and plentiful. The rooms were very comfortable. Although the heat wave temperature was high the rooms were cool. Overall a great experience.

Excellent repas et service. Bon choix de vins adaptés aux budgets/goûts. La literie est très confortable et les chambres sont spacieuses. Le personnel est aux petits soins. Moins bon points: la salle de bain/chambre mériteraient un rafraîchissement. L’ensemble des chambres ne sont pas localisées dans le château mais il n’en est fait mention nulle part dans la description.

Hotel is located high above the river valley. You must try the restaurant, the view resembles cruise ship. Decor a bit regal, but it fits the setting. Friendly staff can advise on activities. Biking is a great option. For the soul there are many historical chapels, for the body there are wine caves.

A lovely treat on our way back from the South of France. The Loire Valley is beautiful as is this Chateaux

Défaillances : - la porte d’entrée ne s’ouvre avec un énorme grincement - la serrure fonctionne à peine - les rideaux ne ferment pas, parce qu’ils bloquent et leur tringle est beaucoup trop large pour ses anneaux. - les chambres n’offrent pas de bouteille d’eau ou quoi que ce soit comme boisson. La terrasse offre une vue splendide mais on ne peut pas y diner. Nous avons même dû aller à Saumur pour cela (à 10 km, donc sans vin !) car l’hôtel nous a informé, après que nous ayons réglé la chambre d’avance, que le restaurant serait complet pour la soirée, et que l’on ne pourrait pas nous servir en terrasse (explication : « On ne le fait pas »). Somme toute le quatre étoiles n’est vraiment pas mérité, surtout vu le prix peu modeste. Même trois étoiles demanderaient un meilleur service.

Stay, comfort, shower and suite were great. Breakfast expensive reasonable (not great but just ok). No bottle of complementary water in the room (and rates of this hotel are not really cheap right). Furthermore, charming hotel and we slept very well.

This is a lovely property. Our room was decorated beautifully overlooking a spectacular view of the Loire River. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic location and setting. Food and restaurant service was excellent but hotel service lacking. Seemed to be short staffed. Breakfast unimpressive. Rooms are impressive but need some attention to detail for an up-market Hotel. eg. no plugs near mirrors, hairdryer cord too short , TV located in unwatchable position.

Our family of three enjoyed our overnighter at the Chateau very much, and we send our compliments to the chef, who made us an outstanding meal. Breakfast was a treat too!

チェックインしようとしたら予約に名前がないとのこと。 Expediaで支払い済みなのに、どういう状態なのかは説明がなかった。 結局部屋を用意してもらい、待っている間にコーヒーでも、と言われたので頂いた。 チェックアウトの精算を見るとちゃっかりコーヒー代を取られていた！ 別に金額どうこうという話ではないけど、そちらの不手際じゃないのかって話。 宿自体はきれいでお城に泊まった！という気持ちにさせてくれました。

I confirmed them for late checkin. But they didnt answer the telephone on the other side even they knew it. Room seems to be clean, I saw dead insects and small insect and old spider web. Out side looks wonderful, But I don’t want to be here again.

Une vue splendide sur la Loire. Les équipements : rien ne manque . La chambre très spacieuse et confortable avec terrasse un plus. nous avons diner au restaurant ,merci au chef et son équipe pour toutes les saveurs que nous avons pu dégusté. Bravo à tous . Very well maintained Chateau with very professional and friendly staff

The hotel staff and restaurant staff were excellent. The property overlooks a picturesque view of the Loire Valley. The location is close enough to visit a handful of châteaux in a couple of days. It’s a great deal for the price.

Needs updated hairdryer. The carpet in the room needs to be updated. The staff is wonderful and genuine. The food is outstanding.

Amazing castle, most elegant place I have ever stayed for the exceptional low price. Dinners were amazing and Frank, our waiter and other wait staff were exceptional. We hope to return some day and spend more than 2 nights as much to see in the area.

The hotel was beautiful and the service was impeccable from the time we arrived. Dinner was lovely as well. Our room was warm and cosy and extra heaters was used to make it warmer. I would definitely visit again.

Great location as a basepoint for visiting the Loire Valley chateaus and vineyards. A little far from places like Chambord though. The hotel was nice and had a feeling like staying in one of the chateaus. As such, there was a little musty smelling but the hotel was clean, with a large room and nice views of the river below. Ample parking. The breakfast included was very good compared to my experience with most French breakfast buffets. Staff all spoke English fairly well. We had dinner the first night we were there which was a nice experience. The presentation was very good, but the food itself was just above average. The bonus of having a small refrigerator in the room was nice. Although it's used for the minibar, there is a little more room to pickup some small items from a local grocery.

This place is amazing and was the highlight of our trip to France. The staff placed us in the top room in the Château with a balcony looking over the Loire valley. Web site photos do not do justice to this amazing view.
