Hotel Cal Sastre

A beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The 8-room hotel is in a lovingly renovated historic building on the main square, directly opposite a medieval castle. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Santa Pau is a small medieval village in the mountains, very interesting history and a fantastic location for hiking and cycling. We did a hike in the volcano area, including going down into an extinct volcano crater where an old chapel is situated - a 10 km plus walk which was very varied and interesting, great mountain views and beautiful beech forest. Afterwards we relaxed in the lovely plunge pool at Hotel Cal Sastre. The hotel is just wonderful, run by a couple who also run the attached restaurant where we ate both nights, great food and such a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was really nice too. We loved our couple of days here and highly recommend this hotel and location.

It would be very helpful if the hotel provided better information in English about how to drive into the village and where to unload baggage and where to park.

Dificultat per arribar en cotxe , i a l´aparcament

Destacaría la amabilidad y cercanía de Eva. La verdad es que te sientes como en casa! Las instalaciones son excepcionales. El desayuno casero y recién hecho. En definitiva un alojamiento con alma.

Las habitación y el lavabo son grandes. Todo reformado y decorado con encanto. Está situado en pleno centro de un pueblo medieval. El desayuno es bastante correcto.

La piscina es extremadamente pequeña, es como una bañera grande y el solarium está en pendiente por lo que hay varios niveles que se alejan de la piscina. La televisión no estaba conectada a internet por lo que solo se pueden ver los canales convencionales. La habitación no tenía nevera.

La ubicación del mismo debido a la imposibilidad de aparcar delante del hotel, por ser el centro de Santa Pau y así descargar el equipaje, por lo demás, increíble hotel y personal de 10. Se nota que están orientados al 100% al cliente. Repetiré sin dudarlo

el restaurante no se podía comer dentro y afuera hacia un calor horrible. Además un día antes nos avisaron que no tendríamos la habitación. estuvimos en un anexo, lo cual no era lo mismo porque teníamos que desplazarnos y la piscina estaba en el hotel y no en donde nos alojaron.

Hotel rural muy tranquilo, perfecto para desconectar. La zona de la piscina es monísima y tiene unas vistas preciosas. La habitación es muy cómoda. Sobretodo destacar la atención de Eva, súper atenta y simpática. El desayuno genial.

Habitación amplia, con aire acondicionado y visitas al castillo. Desayuno abundante y trato excelente.

La bañera parecía un sarcófago, apenas entrana una persona estirada. Necesita una reforma, cambiarla y también los azulelos.

Eva la Ada madrina. Una mujer increíble que te acoge te aconseja te guía. El hotel bello, los alrededores increíbles el pueblo una belleza. Lo recomiendo 100 por ciento !!!

L'esmorçar és espectacular i l'Eva s'escarrassa perquè tot estigui al teu gust.

No és que no m'agradi, simplement cal tenir-ho en compte per no tornar-se boig perquè el google maps no et sap portar bé..... No es pot arribar a la porta de l'hotel amb el cotxe perquè l'accés a la zona és restringit i s'ha d'aparcar a un aparcament públic de sorra que està a dos minuts a peu al final del carrer del pont (per si us serveix ;-))

Todo en general. La atención de Eva desde el minuto 0. Esta por todo. GRACIAS!! Hemos desconectado muchísimo.

De rust van de plek, onder koele middeleeuwse bogen. Het lijkt lastiger om er met de auto te komen dan het daadwerkelijk is. Je komt prima door de straatjes en poort. Klein zwembadje om af te koelen, bedjes in de schaduw. En uitstekend restaurant erbij, met goede wijnen. Een familiehotel om te zoenen.

Un encanto de lugar, ubicación única, comida y trato exquisito y muy familiar. Eva y Jesús (y todo el personal) magníficos anfitriones, amables, simpáticos y pendientes de todo. Habitaciones limpias y bonitas, piscina TOP con vistas TOP. ¡Volveremos pronto!

A Little Gem of a hotel. We loved everything about it and will definitely re book if we are back in that beautiful region of Spain. Location was fantastic, restaurant superb, room and facilities all spotlessly clean and comfortable, hostess friendly and welcoming, she even remembered what we wanted for breakfast. For those travellers who like their hotels to reflect their location and not be some sort of standard 'euro' box.

There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel.

Ontbijt met lokale producten. De gastvrouw is zeer enthousiast en vriendelijk. De omgeving is echt prachtig.

Het was uitzonderlijk warm weer (37°C), de airco is onvoldoende sterk om het appt volledig te koelen.

Em van trucar el dia abans per dir-me que s'havia espatllat l'aire acondicionat, no ens podien canviar l'habitació la 1a nit però si que ens canviaven a una suite la 2a nit, es van oferir a tornar-nos els diners sinó. Vam acceptar el canvi de habitació per la 2a nit. Tot i així el clima a la nit es fantàstic per dormir amb les finestres obertes. L'Eva ens va donar una estada molt agradable. Esmorzar correcte. Hotel petit i acollidor per passar un parell de dies de relax.

Atenció i instal•lació impecables. Un plaer fer una escapada per descansar i desconnectar!

El hotel es muy bonito y acogedor, ubicado en un entorno privilegiado, perfecto para desconectar. La comida fue excelente. El servicio, perfecto. Eva nos hizo sentir como en casa. Muchísimas gracias! Sin duda, repetiremos.

El stress que te traslada la propiedad. Estan demasiado encima y son poco flexibles.

The location in the old town was stunning. The plunge pool was a huge benefit to us in the heat. The staff were so warm and friendly. Everything was so neat and clean.

The breakfast could be improved upon. Compared to other places we stayed on our trip, it was very basic.

Un lloc excel.lent al bell mig d'una vila.medieval. Tracte perfecte, espai net i amb cura dels detalls. A l'estiu, la bassa arrenjada com a piscina ajuda a relaxar-se. Esmorzar correcte. També disposen d'un restaurant amb una extensa carta de vins.

El hotel es muy bonito y tiene una piscina fantástica con unas vistas al pueblo ...nos encantó .

Ubicación perfecta en un entorno increible. Hotel cuidado, íntimo y especial. Piscina relajante. Desayuno muy bueno. Ducha muy cómoda e inodoro tipo japonés. Detalle de botellas de agua.

El horario de la piscina: de 10h a 20h. Al llegar por la tarde y madrugar al dia siguiente, apenas pudimos disfrutarla. La puerta del baño no cerraba bien. Iluminación de la habitación escasa.

Un espai increïble per desconnectar i relaxar-se. Punt de partida de varies rutes per la zona amb boscos frondosos i molta aigua. Relaxar-se a la seva piscina després d’una excursió no té preu. Ens van fer sentir com a a casa. Esmorzars boníssim fets al moment. Repetirem

No había nevera en la habitación y hacía mucho calor mecesaria para tener refresco y agua fria. La ducha no se podia colgar en la pared y se hace difícil ducharse sosteniendo el teléfono en ina mano

Sehr schönes kleines herzlich geführtes Hotel in einer tollen Gegend!

This hotel (and the restaurant) although small is exceptional- from the friendly welcome to the well attended departure. Our room was spacious, comfortable with fantastic views and was well equipped. The restaurant was top class and a real bonus was the concert playing opposite us which although not part of the hotel was just the cherry on top. Our only regret was not having the time to stay longer, but we will be back.

Il ristorante era chiuso, facevano dei lavori molto rumorosi a partire dalle 8 del mattino nell’ appartamento a fianco. Il ristorante dell’albergo era chiuso e in generale il borgo era molto residenziale e con poche strutture ricettive.

Situation exceptionnelle sur la place historique du village. La Garrotxa est une région magnifique et tout particulièrement SANTA PAU. Le restaurant de l'hôtel étant fermé pour cause de décès, nous avons pu découvrir à Olot à une quinzaine de kilomètres, un autre restaurant absolument fabuleux, au cœur de la forêt, proposant à des prix raisonnables une cuisine excellente: "FONT MOIXINA"! Vivement conseillé! Même si le restaurant de l'hôtel semblait, lui-aussi, très bon et très agréable, sous les arcades de la placette.

Absence de réfrigérateur. Savoir que le parking est en contre-bas du vieux village, à 5 minutes. ( possibilité de décharger la voiture devant l'hôtel.)

We loved everything about being in this charming accommodation. Eva and her staff were warm and welcoming, and they made everything very easy for us and enhanced our stay considerably with their thoughfulness. Everything right from dropping luggage at the door and easy parking, to checking in, gaining fabulous suggestions for what to do nearby, a delicious home cooked breakfast each day and then, dinner reservations in the award winning Cal Sastre Restaurant was facilitated efficiently by the energetic and super friendly Eva. The hotel was spotlessly clean, and we felt very privileged to stay in the heart of this historic, medieval village. Cal Sastre translates as "The Tailor's House" and is a truly bespoke stay. The decor provides an eclectic and fascinating look into the heritage of this place. There is so much to do in the area you could easily fill 4-5 days or longer to be able to aborb the rhythm of daily life here. We were fortunate to visit during the Saint Jordi's Day festivals, so that was an added highlight. The Volcano and Forest walks are inspiring, but the highlight for us was the village and its people - stunning! Dinner at the Cal Sastre Restaurant was exquisite, and the Chef was outstanding in his skill and hospitality.

Leaving! The beautiful town of Santa Pau is a real gem. Once you realise you need to ignore the 'no entry' signs and actually enter the old town, everything is very easy! A lovely local lady walked us through the archway and up to Cal Sastre - so we felt welcome right from the beginning!

Un petit bijou ! L hôtel est magnifique, le repas est excellent , le village est superbe ! Et l accueil est sympathique et chaleureux ! Cela donne envie de revenir dans la garrotxa.

Posizione molto suggestiva nel centro di Santa Pau. La camera è molto curata, comoda e pulita. La colazione ottima e ricca. I proprietari sono molto gentili.

....la curta durada. 1 setmana necesaria per fer tot l,entorn de figueres, olot, la vall d,envàs, i les zones volcaniques, i la fageda d,en jorda.

Se trata de un hotelito en una población pequeña, y está ubicado en la zona antigua de la misma, la zona medieval del pueblo.

En primer lugar, que te digan en los servicios del hotel que tiene "Parking gratis", y no es verdad. El hotel no tiene parking, el aparcamiento es el municipal, que está situado a la entrada del pueblo y a una distancia considerable del hotel. Además se trata de calles antiguas en las que cuesta desplazarse con una maleta. En segundo lugar, las instalaciones y el tamaño de la habitación, totalmente insuficientes para un hotel con categoría de cuatro estrellas, las cuales no creo que merezca el establecimiento. Por último, la relación calidad-precio, completamente desfasada. El precio me pareció un robo para lo que me estaban dando.
