Das Haus in dem wir zu fünft gewohnt haben, war sehr schön. Sauber, gut ausgestattete Küche, jedes Schlafzimmer ein eigenes Bad und WC. Die Lage ist toll, wenn man es gerne ruhig hat. Trotz der am Anfang etwas länger wirkenden Zufahrt zum Faja ist man dann doch irgendwie recht zentral auf der Insel und fast alle wichtigen Punkte sind halbwegs schnell erreichbar. Wenn Sao Jorge dann vermutlich wieder hier!

Die ruhige Lage hat eigentlich nur den kleinen Nachteil, dass man den Einkauf und einen Besuch in einem Restaurant besser plant, aber Calheta ist dann auch nicht wirklich so weit weg. Die morgendliche Laufrunde hatte dann doch schnell ein paar Höhenmeter intus...

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt in Lauras Cottage in Velas. Schon bei der Ankunft gab es einen netten Willkommensgruß, über den wir uns sehr gefreut haben. Die Kommunikation vor und während unseres Aufenthalts war jederzeit sehr nett, unkompliziert und zuverlässig – alles hat bestens geklappt. Das Haus war sauber, sehr gut eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was wir für unseren Aufenthalt gebraucht haben. Wir haben uns dort rundum wohlgefühlt und würden Lauras Cottage jederzeit weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

Der Ort ist schön, die Lage und der Ausblick super. Der Verwalter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Küche gut ausgestattet.

Die Schlafzimmer im Basement waren muffig und feucht, konnten wir nicht benutzen. Die Betten / Matrazen waren durchgelegen und haben geknarrt.

Os acessos de São Jorge são sempre um tema e Vimes está de certa forma isolado, sendo bom, mas também causando a dificuldade sempre que se quer passear na ilha.

Location is wonderful, for all who seek a quiet place faja dos vimes is the place to be.

Value for money is improvable. You have to take everything you need as the local coffee houses don't have basic supply (except already perished potatoe chips) although the landlord told us otherwise in advance. The apartment is old, damp and musty in the lower floor, however renovated in the upper floor. Ok to stay for one night but would look for another place for longer.

Tolle Aussicht, in schöner wilder Natur gelegen. Sehr typisch und passend zur wilden Naturinsel Sao Jorge. Angesichts des feuchten Inselklimas eine der wahrscheinlich besten Unterkünfte dieser Art. Es war eigentlich kein Mensch zu hören nur die Möwen, Vögel und das Meer. Wenn man Einkaufen will muss man über kurvige Straßen 13 min zum kleinen Laden oder 30min zum Supermarkt. Wer mehr Tourismus, Kultur und Städte möchte sollte andere Inseln wählen. Am besten man hätte ein Schnelles Pedelec/EPAC. Damit wäre man auf der Insel genauso schnell wie ein Auto, aber es würde richtig Spaß machen auf den kurvigen Straßen zu fahren. Beim Autofahren nerven die engen kurvigen Straßen eher. Zum Wandern und Schnorcheln ist es hingegen ganz hervorragend geeignet.

Location near the ocean. Peaceful place with a stunning view at the Pico mountain on the Pico Island. Very clean, the house had everything you need on the holiday. And last but not least the welcome basket with delicious local cheese and wine. Truly recommend

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Dos Vimes. It well and truly exceeded our expectations - and they were high already! The location is quiet and peaceful within Faja dos Vimes, surrounded by small paddocks and the ocean across the road. You do have to drive minimum 20mins to get anywhere else on the island, but we knew to expect this and it was part of the charm. The cottage itself was very quaint and cosy, with plenty of room for larger groups and all the required facilities. It is more well-kept than the photos make it appear, which was a nice surprise. The kitchen was fully stocked too which made it easy to prepare food for hikes. Antonio, the host, was very kind and made every endeavour to make us comfortable, including gifting us a bottle of wine and some local cheese on our last night - we enjoyed meeting him and chatting to him.

A vista, em redor da casa dos Vimes, é espetacular! A casa foi confortavel para o nosso grupo e o espaço exterior é otimo para relaxar a ver o mar se houver bom tempo. Pena nossa, que não o tivemos! Local calmo. Fajã a visitar.

Apesar da estadia ser em fins de Abril, houve chuva e frio e entrava o frio pelas portas e janelas. Notámos a falta de algum sofá para podermos relaxar após o jantar a desfrutar o momento. Os bancos de madeira da cozinha, tornam se desconfortaveis, para alem do fresco que entrava por baixo da porta.

The house itself, the location, the host, everything was absolutely magnificent! The house is located in a Faja, which means that it is peaceful, quiet and surrounded by amazing nature, but it also means that there are no supermarkets nor restaurants in the area (there are available options short distance by car). The road to the location is asphalt, in very good shape, the parking is on the grass, in front of the house itself.....and the scenery from the airport to the Casa dos Vimes is spectacular. The location is the beginning point for several hiking paths, and the famous coffee plantation is just around the corner. I visited several parts of Sao Jorge, but the south part has better weather overall, and it is way more protected from the winds as opposed to the north (which is mostly farmland), and not to mention the breathtaking views over Pico mountain. Mr. Antonio, the host, is extremely responsive to all needs and an exceptional person to talk to. The house was renovated using a blend of traditional Sao Jorge elements, and modern elements, making it a very beautiful and comfortable stay. The house has a private terrace, a private bbq as well as washing machines. Mr. Antonio kindly provided all the necessary things for making a successful BBQ :) And in case the weather is not very friendly and going outside is not possible, there is a smart tv! :)

Die von Catarina angebotenen rustikalen Steinhäuser sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und exzellent ausgestattet. Da ich meinen Aufenthalt spontan um eine Nacht verlängerte, konnte ich zwei Häuser kennenlernen, die beide schöne Außenbereiche zum Sitzen und Grillen bieten. Der Blick in die idyllische Natur ist faszinierend, und das Meeresrauschen trägt zweifelsohne zur erholsamen Atmosphäre bei. Regionaler Käse, Saft und Wasser zur Begrüßung zeugen von der Gastfreundschaft und Herzlichkeit der Gastgeberin. Ich habe mich in den drei Tagen sehr wohlgefühlt und komme gerne wieder.

Charmful house located in a small beautiful village, with an amazing view and in a very quiet environment. The nature surrounding is amazing. The house is spacious and very well equipped. The owners were reactive and welcoming. The terrace and equipment provided allow you to enjoy this beautiful view at all hours of the day (weather permitted). There is a place to swim close to the house and hiking possibilities from the village.

No living room - only a spacious kitchen, which might be a bit small for a group if the weather does not permit to enjoy the outside area.

De locatie was prima! Vlakbij de koffieplantage, zicht op zee, rustig dorp, unieke gekke geluiden 's nachts van Kuhls pijlstormvogel (Cory's shearwater).

Het dubbel bed was heel hoog en dat was leuk want authentiek. Helaas was het ook te klein, te smal. Ik hou van mijn vrouw, en kort bij haar liggen kan leuk zijn, maar een mens moet ook slapen 's nachts. Dat is moeilijk als je steeds tegen mekaar botst.

The property was very comfortable with all facilities.

The location is wonderful. Every unit has their own little terrace with barbecue! Absolutely fantastic.

Perfect accommodation in Faja dos Vimes. Peace, quiet, relaxation. Taste the local coffee. Actually the only problem was that our stay here was too short. Maybe we'll come back again.

Traditional well set up house. Catarina was very helpful and ensured we were ok throughout our trip.

Location is near the sea which is perfect and very peaceful. You need a car though as there are no shops or restaurants near by.

Every thing was Ok. The only problem is the noise of the floor when people of the upside appartment walk. The place is really beautiful!

The views were amazing. The renovation work on the house is quite well done and the interior is very quaint.

Several of the beds were harder than we prefer.

Beautiful house with in your backyard the beautiful green hills and a 2-minute walk from the ocean. Good guidance from the airport on how to get to the house. Furthermore, a very friendly welcome and host.

Wonderful cozy house with a fully equipped kitchen. The food supplied on our arrival was unexpected and appreciated as we arrived later than expected. Quiet, friendly community right near the ocean with trails within walking distance of the home.

We rented 2 houses for 10 people, but they were not close to each other. The owner very kindly noticed our problem and offered us two smaller houses instead of one bigger, so we were then close enough.
