Mooie locatie met uitzicht over het meer

Het hotel ligt erg afgelegen, Grab werkt in dit gebied niet dus ver kom je niet. Om van je kamer naar de receptie en het restaurant te lopen moet je over een erg steil pad met keitjes. Volstrekt ongeschikt voor mensen met een wat mindere conditie. Booking moet dat beter vermelden bij de beschrijving van dit resort. Ook geeft de receptie alleen informatie over de eigen faciliteiten die zij organiseren, zoals kajakken en varen op een bamboe vlot, dat vlak naast het resort door de locals boottochten over het meer worden verzorgd wordt niet verteld. Uitgebreid ontbijt maar vleeswaren en, zelfs Goudse, kaas wordt niet gekoeld, dus ziet er niet erg smakelijk uit. De foto’s van het brood zijn nep, gewoon fabrieksbrood dat eerst in in het tosti apparaat moet.

We stayed for two nights. The location is beautiful: right by the lake, surrounded by mountains and nature. It is very quiet at night, and you can see the stars. However, at around US$330 for two nights, the hotel felt far too expensive for what it offers. Excellent staff. Very friendly, attentive and helpful. Good English, and easy communication in Vietnamese as well. Zalo communication was especially convenient — fast replies and even photos from our activities. Great Vietnamese food. Breakfast and dinner were both very good. Generous portions (one dish can be shared), and cocktails were also nice. Beautiful, peaceful location. Lovely lake and mountain views, very quiet at night, great for stargazing. Massage. One of the highlights. Full-body massage (600,000–900,000 VND depending on duration) was very good, with attentive therapists and a calm setting. Good value compared to the room price. Bamboo rafts. No SUPs available, kayaks for a fee, but rafts were free. Surprisingly fun, stable, and safe with life jackets provided. Staff even helped us down to the water. Well-kept grounds. Overall pleasant and maintained.

Very poor value for money. At this price, the hotel does not feel justified. Would only consider returning at a much lower rate. Outdated rooms. Spacious but tired furniture, bare walls, no TV, and a generally unfinished feel. The roof design also blocks part of the lake view. Small room issues. Slow shower drain, flashing AC light at night, and visible router light — minor but annoying at this price. Caterpillars. Around ten ended up in the room/bed over two nights. Understandable in nature, but still unpleasant. Poor lake access. Very steep, uneven path with stones and broken bricks. Infrastructure feels underdeveloped. Pool maintenance. Beautiful view, but water had debris, sun loungers were worn, and there was no lifeguard or proper safety barrier. Occasional sewage smell near the spa path. Small parking area. Overall: Staff, food, location, and massage are genuinely good. However, the room quality and infrastructure do not match the price. At a much lower rate, I would return. At ~US$330 for two nights, I would choose elsewhere. P.S. for drivers: Take the Thác Gò Lào route instead of Google Maps’ default — it’s faster, smoother, and more comfortable.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. The view from the room is breathtaking and the restaurant is very decent.

Food and drink are not that cheap. The bathroom is a bit cramped and everything gets wet when you shower.

Dat het toch wel 35 minuten rijden was naar de bewoonde wereld. De toegangsweg naar het hotel lag open. Dat was wel hinderlijk.

Schöne Anlage mit guten Restaurants, jedoch eher kleinen Zimmern. Die Massagen waren extrem teuer und in der näheren Umgebung gab es kaum Möglichkeiten für Unternehmungen. Aufgrund des niedrigen Wasserstands war der See nicht zugänglich und Baden leider nicht möglich.

Les chambres sont agréable. Petite attention avec les prunes locales et le verre de bienvenue. Le personnel est plutôt à l'écoute. Les repas vietnamiens sont bons. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Le gros plus, la vue et la piscine.

Il y a des odeurs d'humidité dans la chambre. La réception n'est pas très réactive. Je n'ai souvent pas reçu de réponse à mes messages et j'ai même reçu un message 3 jours après avoir quitté l'établissement. Le gros point négatif: l'isolation. Les murs sont tout fins. C'est une horreur! Un enfant dans la chambre d'à côté a pleuré toute la nuit, puis la famille a commencé à brailler à 6h du matin alors que nous venons ici pour rechercher le calme. Ce n'est pas la faute de la famille mais de l'hôtel. Il n'est pas cohérent d'appliquer des tarifs aussi élevés pour un service aussi bas. Le lendemain rebelote, grosse fête en dessous de notre chambre. Le seul geste de l'hôtel a été de nous offrir une location en canoë sous 40 degrés en plein soleil. Bref, le cadre est sympathique mais je ne pense pas y revenir.

De ligging was waanzinnig. Heel afgelegen, maar ideaal om 2 dagen niks te doen. Het eten was subliem, zowel ontbijt, lunch en avondeten. Kajakken is een leuke activiteit op het meer.

Iets duurder dan andere hotels in Vietnam. Weinig ligbedden aan het zwembad voor het aantal volk dat er kan verblijven

The stunning view into the mountains over the lake, that you can watch over from the infinity pool. The gardens are kept very well with a great variety of flowers and plants. The staff are all so lovely and want you to have a special experience. The food was also very good and tasty with nice cocktails also.

A wider variety of soft drinks would be great to have available

Our family had a wonderful holiday. The lake view from the room was stunning. The room was clean and food served at the restaurant was very delicious. The property staff were highly responsive and helpful. They provided us with clear guidance about convenient routes and made our stay memorable.

I found an absolutely amazing place for a getaway! This hotel is so beautiful, peaceful, and authentic – it's a dream come true! The grounds are so well-kept, with so much greenery and flowers – it's a joy to walk around. And the food – that's a whole other story! Everything is so delicious, you could just lick your fingers! The juices are freshly squeezed, the real deal, not watered down. The local rice wine in the clay pot is simply magical. A photogenic infinity pool, a warm and clean lake. Cats on the premises. It's better to come for a few days. You feel right at home, only better! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and true relaxation.

It is 1/2 an hour drive from Mai chau. The hotel doesn't offer any transportation, other than a 20 dolar taxi one way. On top of it, there is no t.v; you get loud music from outside instead, the resort's restaurant is terrible. So you are stuck there

Uitstap naar Ban Lac gedaan met taxi (300.000 VND); altijd snel ter plaatse. Fijn attentvol personeel; leuke babbel met manager gehad. Op zaterdagavond dansvoorstelling gekregen in lounge.

Very beautiful location by the lake. Bruce and all his staff were exceptional, so helpful and friendly. They organised boat trips and taxi into Lac village for us. They made every effort to ensure we had a great stay with them.

Very friendly staff, beautiful location and view, good spa with fair pricing, lovely infinity pool, comfy rooms.

The prices in the restaurant are quite high, food orders weren't always served together (for a group of 7 people), and unfortunately there were 2-3 mistakes in the invoicing (again, for a group of 7 people) which I found a bit strange for such a high class resort. However, in the end everything was settled and sorted out.

Very relaxing, stunning lake and food. The staff were amazing throughout. All the staff made a big effort to make my stay magical. I requested a tour of my choice not on the scheduled list and they arranged it for me. Turned out to be better and more memorable than I could have imagined. Thank you to all at Hideaway resort.

The crew was super friendly! Beautiful serene place to come for unwinding. We decided to leave early because we wanted to see Some more of Vietnam before our holiday was over and without saying one word about it the manager decided to refund us for the nights we didn’t stay, what a service!

Waarschijnlijk omdat dit hotel wel heel afgelegen is: de prijs voor verblijf en vooral de aangeboden excursies waren te duur voor wat we kregen aangeboden.

We really enjoyed our stay. The resort is located right on the shore of Hoa Binh Lake, and the view from the room was so beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone. The resort is located some distance from the villages of Mai Chau, with a drive to Ban Lac taking about 30-35 minutes. If you head in the opposite direction towards Ba Khan, you’ll travel along the lake, enjoying beautiful views of the water and the small islands in Hoa Binh Lake.

Nous nous attendions à un cadre exceptionnel et cela a été le cas. Nous avons payé 90-100 euros environs pour une chambre vue sur la piscine et le lac, spacieuse et très bien équipée. C’est un coin magnifique, dépaysant… Mais nous nous demandons si ce n’est pas un peu cher par rapport à d’autres coins de paradis où nous avons dormi tout autant époustouflants. D’autant plus que la nourriture du restaurant n’est pas toujours excellente et chère. Nous avons été déçues d’un plat de nouilles et d’une soupe de légumes. Mais nous nous sommes régalées avec les plats végétariens que nous recommandons : rouleaux de printemps, nems, riz, salade de banane papaye. Le personnel est sinon très gentil, aux petits soins. Ça reste un superbe endroit !

La nourriture du restaurant n’était pas toujours très bonne et surtout assez chère. Privilégiez les plats végétariens à la fin de la carte que nous avons adoré.

Gin and the entire staff made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, were quick and responsive to communicate with, and the Hanoi-trained spa staff pampered us. Bungalow 119 was secluded, private, quiet, and beautiful! The pool was sumptuous on the very hot and sunny days we spent here, and the food was delicious.

I absolutely loved my stay at this resort! It’s the perfect retreat for anyone seeking peace and quiet, far from the noise of the city. The secluded location offers total relaxation, with only the occasional ferry passing by—but the sound is brief and doesn’t take away from the serene atmosphere. The views of the lake are simply breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure everything was perfect. On top of that, the restaurant served tasty food (8/10) for lunch and dinner menus. We did not need to find any dinning place outside of the resort during the 2 days we spent there. However, breakfast was just at average level. A special mention to Dinh Thi Linh, who we encountered at the restaurant—such a responsible and friendly staff member, ensuring everything was just right. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway with stunning scenery, excellent service, and great food, I highly recommend this resort!

Approaching road is narrow, but no problem to visit by big motorcycle. There is beautiful water fall before arriving. Hotel is still new and beautiful. Flowers in the garden were also good.

Excellent views and location. Food and breakfast was good. Room big and clean. Didn't use pool as winter but looked nice. Staff great. We did tour on lake and got private transfers from Hanoi. Driver and service very nice. A bit out from Mai Chau but easy transfer into the valley with worth the quiet and views staying on the lake.

The hotel is in a beautiful environment, overall very clean and well kept with stunning gardens. The food off the paid menu was very tasty and they have a mix of Asian and Western options. The views on a clear day are STUNNING.

This property is not in Mai Chau village, it’s a 1/2 hour drive away and the taxis are expensive. Dont stay here unless you are happy to hire a scooter. The breakfast was limited down due to the hotel being quiet, on the first day we arrived it was a full buffet and then from day 2 onwards it changed to eggs on toast or soup. The pool had algae on the infinity side which is difficult to access due to being a ledge so you could tell it was not cleaned.

We enjoyed the peaceful nature of the location. It was a nice little escape from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi.

Some of the menu items were not available. We asked for Creme Broulee every meal time to no avail. However what we did eat was delicious.

The lake view is beautiful and the infinity pool was nice. Staff were fine and spoke little English. The room was pretty clean. Do yourself a favor and RENT A SCOOTER from Mr. Chung Lan in town. It was nice to be able to scoot around on our own, have food in town, visit the sunset point, go to the hot springs, etc.

High pricing sets a certain expectation and it was definitely not met here. Unfortunately we were overall disappointed by our stay. We expected resort-style serenity, food, and service but were met with a very loud ferry terminal next door along with mediocre service and food. After travelling Vietnam for 3 weeks, this was not worth the price relative to other stays. There weren't many people staying here or having breakfast, so I was a bit worried about the freshness of everything. It was an average breakfast, nothing beyond what we got at other places for a fraction of the cost. Hot food was all fried stuff, but the fresh omlettes were nice - just make sure buddy cooks it fully. The lunch and dinner food at the restaurant is overpriced and portions are small. No daily specials, etc. yet the prices are that of a high-end restaurant. It appeared that they were more interested in catering to the tour groups who stopped by the resort for lunch with a view. Also, they didn't have fresh coconuts for coconut water which was surprising for a resort. The noise level from the ferry terminal was unexpected. Not only do boats start coming and going as early as 6:30am with loud music, there are guys playing pool all day (glad they're having a good time) which was disruptive to our experience by the pool. We stayed here to get away from the noise. Way too close to the terminal. Also, there were nails sticking out of the back of several pool chairs, so watch your fingers!
