Tru By Hilton North Platte

All of the staff were excellent from check-in to check out and the breakfast attendants. The elevators were fast and easily accessible. There was a great variety of television stations to choose from to fall asleep to. The room was clean and uncluttered with unnecessary pictures and such. Tru has "hard" floors, I absolutely love that!

A thunderstorm rolled through at 4 a.m. and was loud .... as were a few of the guests - a plus is that the fan on the heat/ac unit can be turned on constant fan.

New, cheerfully decorated hotel with extraordinary staff—their warmth and helpfulness were the highlight of my stay. I was, however, surprised that this was a Hilton-branded hotel, as I expected a different level of accommodations. Despite the cheerful colors, the room felt sparse and utilitarian rather than comfortable: very small, with almost no surface space, no closet, no carpet, no coffee maker or microwave, and only a basic shower stall in the bathroom.

The general space was very nice and inviting. Loved the games and tables and all the options for snacks and drinks, which we needed because we arrived later. The staff at the front desk were exceptional! Very friendly and very helpful

We found an empty 5th bottle of booze in plain view under one of the beds so the housekeeping was obviously not very good. The comforters were rough and not nicely placed on the beds so it gave the room an unkempt feel as well. Otherwise it looked clean and was comfortable. Basic room no carpet which I prefer.

When we arrived the front desk was super helpful.

We really like that there was no carpeting anywhere in the room. We would have liked another chair. Also liked the various positive and colorful notices in the elevators and the lobbies and other common areas.

The kids wanted pancakes so had to special order and it took A LONG TIME to get them

The hotel was very clean and so was the room. I appreciate that there wasn’t any carpet on the floors. The room was smaller than I expected but it worked out fine. I had not stayed in a hotel that was, I think they call it retro. I was surprised that there wasn’t any closet or drawers to put things in. There were hooks on the walls in the bathroom which made taking a shower easier.

I know there is nothing you can do about the noise from the highway but it was loud.

The only complaint we have was even though it was very convenient where it was located. It was very loud with the trucks. We put on the air conditioner so that didn’t mute the sound.

Front door locked and had to go to the other side. No one at desk at first. No coffee pot in the room. The shower and tiles were slightly slippery. I had knee replacements and found the wet tiles slippery.

It felt very economy class - No trash bags in trash cans, limited amenities in rooms, etc. I expect anywhere with the Hilton name to be well above average.

Everything was fresh & updated. The lobby was nice with a pool table & patio/yard games. The outside patio looked comfy & relaxing, complete with gas fire pit. Very inviting. Breakfast was good. Lots of selections of hot or cold foods.

Solid choice for cross country road trip. Have stayed at Tru before in other locations and trust the chain. Zero complaints about room and would stay again. Two suggestions -- no vegetarian options for breakfast (egg sandwich with sausage) and hot water/tea tasted like coffee because made in the coffee pot so. Other Tru locations are better about this.

Awesome pet friendly hotel. The front staff surprised me with a gift for my pups and put me in a room on 1st floor by exit which is very helpful with dogs.

The mattress was disgusting. It was covered in debris. The pillows were soiled and the comforter on the bed smelled like a dog. There was also a used towel hanging in the bathroom from a previous guest.
