Equipped apartment next to the main hotel. Beds comfy. Value for money. Lovely self service breakfast.
No blind/curtain on bathroom door.
No longer a working pub.
Cute basic clean
Nothing
Friendly & helpful staff, clean & fresh bedding & towels
Property is a little bit tired & dated some of which could be resolved by a higher standard of maintenance. In fairness to the operator I imagine Welsh heritage make some work unfeasible.
This was a good self service breakfast it was very good .
Basic - not much to like
Hot, old fashioned
Shows on Booking.xom as a Hotel. It is only a B&B.
Location
Needs some TLC and could do with a deep clean.
The property needs some renovation work. It is pretty dated. The breakfast can be better.
The character of the property and the value for money
The location was great .. Very friendly could not do enough for us .. love the history of the crown hotel
The bedroom was much too hot not much air coming through a fan was in place but could not cool down the room enough
We liked the Welsh character of the building.
A Welsh host or hostess.
Nice, cosy and warm place for a family to stay. We are 3 all together - us and our 5-year-old son. The superior studio room is quite spacious for all of us and it also has a kitchenette which facilitates small fridge, toaster, kettle and the microwave. 2 walk in shower rooms with bathroom facilities. The staff is very helpful, polite and communicates very well. The property is close to most of the attractions and there is also a parking available for us. They provide the breakfast which is exceptionally good and delicious. There are some restaurants nearby so that you don’t need to worry about the food. Overall, it was a lovely stay at there and we are really thankful to have a stay in this hotel.

Breakfast was buffet style and very good selection. Owner was very pleasant
Not to much ,only a small thing tv could be situated in a better place 😀
The hotel was easy to find and had a small amount of parking to the rear of the property, this is ideal when travelling on motorbikes as we can get them off the road and mostly out of sight. The rooms were spacious and come with a little kitchen area. Really nice stay and nice breakfast too.
Friendly welcome, comfortable bed
Fairly basic but good value for money
Good central location. Comfortable rooms.
Due to its central location there was some road noise in the room
Super super nice staff. Room is big. It also had a kitchen which is super handy. Everything was clean. Breakfast is simple English breakfast. But you can always ask for more eggs.
The lobby stairs smell a little. The washrooms are quite small. Not a problem for me but if you are tall you might not like it.
Lovely old vintage hotel and staff was friendly
Some small work needing doing like the room window was off but thats it.
Nice and clean with good bedding and kitchen facilities.
Unfortunately it did lack a bit of atmosphere due to there being no bar or restaurant only a buffet breakfast.
The location The linen and towels looked clean
The website is very misleading! We were expecting a hotel, it’s a shabby B&B. Maybe it used to be a hotel but that’s a stretch too far now! One member of staff whose English was limited. Front door locked at 10pm, had to say what time we’d be down for breakfast, which I wouldn’t have minded if it was freshly cooked but it wasn’t! See through door to the bathroom. Curtains let light through, fittings throughout the room were faulty or loose. There’s a bar but no alcohol! Misleading photos and reviews, we didn’t know if we were going to get a continental or cooked breakfast. In retrospect we wished it had been continental, the cooked breakfast had clearly been sat for at least an hour, bacon was like cardboard, the sausage was cheap and nasty, eggs rubbery as they’d been sat there for god knows how long. And the clean linen and towels ready for change over sat in the same room as the greasy food! Nice!
Nice quiet hotel. Breakfast filling - and we were free to ask for more (toast, etc) if wanted. En suite easily accessible from bed (I am partially disabled). Fan in room - much appreciated. My walker was carried upstairs for us. Parking available immediately by front door - greatly appreciated, with my poor mobility.
Stairs were steep - but exactly what one would expect in an inn 4 centuries old!! Obviously there was no alternative to my slowly climbing the stairs, and even more slowly descending with my husband in front of me!!
Large clean comfortable room. While the outside of the property looks in need of a coat of paint, inside was surprisingly nice.
Hygiene-good, food-good, service-good, atmosphere -good(quiet).
Park spaces. They have less park spaces than rooms. We have travelled 4 hours+ to find out that there is no free parking space left and we have to find where to park by ourselves while we don't know the area. We picked up that hotel mostly because was saying that includes free parking space and after driving through so many traffics, delays, road idiots ones you arrive your destination, now you have to look for a parking space somewhere in a place you don't know and how you are going to sleep well, when you don't know if your car is safe either? (Thankfully nothing happened to my car, but still is disappointing)
July 2026. The Crown Inn is no longer a Coaching Inn, just a B&B Hotel. The hotel does not serve meals other than breakfast. They do not serve meals at lunch time or in the evening. They do not serve alcohol. There is free Wi-Fi. Parking is limited with only room for about eight cars, on either side of the hotel. We had room number 4. It was large room and ensuite with a wardrobe, electric free standing fan and small heater kettle, tea, coffee and milk, fridge and microwave. The room was clean with clean towels, toiletries and shower. Two old sash windows which do not open with double glazed units on the inside, one of which was broken and would not close. Most television channels had a very poor signal, leaving a very limited choice of BBC and ITV.
July 2026. The receptionist did not understand what a vegetarian is on enquiring about breakfast. The following morning breakfast was a self-service affair with bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns and fried eggs. The cook had no idea how to cook a poached or scrambled egg. The fried eggs looked hard and possibly cooked with the meat as he had not heard of vegetarian sausages. A cooked vegetarian breakfast was clearly off the menu. Toast with was available with butter (no plant alternative) and jam or marmalade. Cereals were available but no plant based milk. Various small pots of fruit yoghurt were available and commercially pre-wrapped and Danish treats. The percolated black coffee was excellent. Freshly made pots tea also available. At least I could have toast, yoghurt and a Danish. The only fresh fruit was bananas. A Vegan is limited in choice.
Nice apartment in good location. Two bedrooms and kitchen facilities was a bonus. Good breakfast. Everything you need for a short break.Nice cool apartment in very hot weather Would stay again
Bed settee a little uncomfortable. Could have done with blinds over downstairs windows and front door.Othetwise no issues.
Extremely clean. Good breakfast. Facilities in the the twin room.
Room was up two flights of steep stairs and was very hot. A fan was provided but it was exceptionally hot. The fire escape was through our bedroom with the outside door to the fire escape in our room with a chair in front of it! To escape guests would have to go through this twin room through a locked door and then break open the fire escape door. Not sure this is a correct procedure.
Lovely staff. Area is lovely. All you need for a peaceful stay.
Clean and lovely staff.
Overall very happy with the stay and the owner was very helpful and friendly.
It was a bit too warm, but it’s not a lot what could have been done. There was a fan though .
We loved our room lots of space with table chairs fridge microwave and comfy armchair. Extras water tea coffee biscuits and room was nice and tidy.
Nothing really
It is a lovely old property and in the bedrooms there is a booklet with the Crown’s history in it, which is a lovely touch. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We slept well and the breakfast was very nice.
There is nothing I didn’t like. It is obviously a bit tired, but this is understandable as it was built in the 1600.
2 separate bedrooms for me husband and then daughter
Lots broken ..toilet seat toilet roll holder..curtain missing.couldnt open window.secondary glazing wouldn't close.Tiny shower room. Some sockets wouldn't work.Really hot although fan provided.
Clean bedroom.helpful staff.fan in room.bedding clean and good quality.Towels good .
On third floor. To many stairs to climb.Older people would find it concerning if stiff leg joints.
Cheap basic accommodation, good for an overnight stay
Situation
Only guest!
The hotel exceeded our expectations as the outside is a little dated but the rooms are excellent; everything was very clean and worked perfectly. At check-in Leo was very helpful and understanding of our needs, and agreed to provide an early breakfast at 0630.
The car park is a little small but there is plenty of alternative parking nearby.
Great welcome, staff could not do enough, very welcoming and the room was spotless, great resting point for my cycling trips around north Wales. Thank You
I have nothing I did not like.
Didn't stay for breakfast left after an hour and a half as were very disappointed with the room.
Low beams in room and door too low as my husband is 6ft tall and banged his head on three occasions causing him to experience blurred vision. Also made a cup of tea and milk in pods was sour and congealed.
Comfortable beds Plenty of facilities Good value
Nothing to dislike, great value
Clean room. Apart from under the bed needed a good hoover. But other than that spotless. Down stairs very outdated but I understand the history. Shame the bar closed.
We were originally allocated room 6, but the window would not shut and we could hear a lot of traffic from outside, so I asked for another room and were given room 4, this room was much nicer and bigger with it's own kitchenette and the window shut, so we were much happier with this room and made our stay more enjoyable. The breakfast was very good but there were no gluten free and dairy free alternatives as I had requested for my wife, but she found enough to eat anyway. Hotel has free car parking which was convenient and is in a very good location to see the nearby sights.
Although room 4 was much better, the curtains were very thin and with a street light directly outside the window, it was hard to sleep at night unless you had been on a long hike that day. The room and bathroom were clean but there was a fair bit of mould in the shower, the sealant needs taking out and replacing. There is a bar but it was closed, so apart from your room and having breakfast, there is nothing else to do at the hotel so lacks a bit of atmosphere. The hotel is clearly an old building and has character, but many of the communal areas need a refresh and modernising.
Hospitality, very kind gentleman
There wasn't anything to dislike , great value for money , and included breakfast in the price. We did a road trip for 4 days staying in 3 different hotels on the hottest may bank holiday ever and the crown hotel was the only one that had a fan in the room .
Nice little hotel. Rooms needed some refurbishment, but they were clean and tidy. The man working that evening was very helpful, and he even offered breakfast a bit earlier because we had to leave quite early. We had a pleasant stay.
The service was good, breakfast was good amd the room was good
This was just a hotel so no pub facilities or evening food
Breakfast good and hotel central to main facilities of the town
I didn't find anything to complain about
Room was damp and cold and had awful smell. Clear glass sort on toilet. Bed was about to collapse.
Room was great.
A waste of a character building as the pub unkempt and unused
Access is via steep steps
Lovely breakfast all fresh
Couldn’t fault
The staff were friendly
The room was up 2 quite steep stairs cases, which were narrow. Road noise can be easily heard, toilet situated in the corner under a sloping roof, not ideal if you are tall. Room was clean and tea and coffee supplied although they gave 3 of each for 2 people. The tv was interesting 🤔, you had to turn on and leave for 5 mins before the picture would show on the screen. Served a purpose but would revisit
Friendly staff
Room was cold.
No hotel facilities. You book B&B and that’s what you get. No other hotel facilities like a lounge , bar or a chance of any other meal. Breakfast 7 to 9 and it was warm and over cooked and gave the impression it was cooked at 7 and put on hot plates ready for an 8 service of help yourself.
Large, warm, clean room. Good breakfast
Limited parking.
Old heritage inn that has been recently refurbished. Good for a night's stay with convenient locations to ride into key Snowdonia tourist attractions.
Nice room, nice food
Not much parking spaces. We didn't get parking. Park on the road.
Friendly people 🤗
Liked everything
It was cosy. The owners were helpful advising where to park
Very clean and the staff were friendly.
Convenient location for a family wedding. Comfortable and spotlessly clean. Friendly owners
Clean room with warm shower, and tea & coffee in room. Good breakfast, choice of cereal along with cooked breakfast. It has a off road carpark. Just required a little organising. Especially around where motorcycles are parked. Had to move so old plant pots to get the bikes out of sight.
The hotel bar is no longer in use. The rooms were cold, which as a motorcyclist wanting to get warm and dry my clothes wasn't the best. Parking was ok, but requires some organising / tidying up. The room key operated the communal fire exit door so it seems everyone must have the same key. Not good for security.
Very good breakfast comfy well equipped rooms.
I liked everything about my stay
Having a 2 bedroom suite
Price, breakfast was average
Convenient location Good breakfast
No bar Building badly needed a lick of paint Generally in a poor state of maintenance
Breakfast was ok but served served on a very small plate. Owners freindly
Light in the entrance hall kept coming on every 5 min through the night, so unable to sleep The shower was dirty. Cobwebs in bedroom Unable to open windows Traffic noise from main road outside The hotel looked like it was being decorated when we arrived with old dust sheets all over the place
Very spacious studio apartment for family of 3. Parking outside. Hosts were lovely & friendly, accomodating
Downstairs area a bit dingy, more lighting maybe..
Hotel nice atmosphere Friendly Food was great, had an evening meal and breakfast Would stay again
No room on private car park Was a very large work van Managed to park outside front, which was great
The location was spot on for our needs. The breakfast was better than what we expected and the staff where great and helpful.
Nothing it's an old building so you have to except it's faults.
Jüngere Leute kommen damit vielleicht besser zurecht
Yeh hotel was very clean and tidy with good parking facilities though not a big park. The staff were very polite and helpful. Check in and checkout times are good and breakfast was available with the rate we paid. Good size rooms with facilities such as microwave, fridge, fan etc in the room made it very comfortable for us.
The downsides we felt were that there was no lift so heavy suitcases were a difficult one to deal with and ironing facilities were only available in the reception area to use and not in the room. And finally the hotel needs a good coat of paint and that’s what made it look old and tired.
Bedroom itself was large, clean and well equipped. Regretfully there was no bar service of food on the night of arrival ( bank holiday Sunday) which was surprising. Quirky ambience. Breakfast was a casual ( some cooked items available as a buffet in containers) affair and adequate.
Afraid the windows of my bedroom at the front could do with a thorough clean....not only road dirt but masses of cobwebs so not been done for some considerable time.
Liked history of buildong
Breakfast served on a side plate and even though we were early diners I would say the food had been cooked several hours earlier. Decent coffee
Parking spaces wee disappointing. Not a great welcome/arrival experience
Breakfast had a very good selection. Full English, cereals, yogurts etc
The photo shown is a very old one! The apparent terraces were a total disgrace. No seating outside, no bar, no evening meals, no reception.
Booked at this hotel as it was close to the wedding venue. Staff were lovely. Room was ideal. Bed wonderfully comfortable.
N/A
Breakfast was very good, included a cooked breakfast.
Car park
We were greeted by a very pleasant lady who helped us with our luggage to the room. The room was nicely decorated with good quality furniture. It was comfortable, clean and spacious with a nice ensuite. Breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay here 😀
It's a shame that the traditional bar area is only used to serve breakfast and as a storage space. So many pubs lost. Hope this business survives as a B&B because they are trying hard.
V.comfy night sleep...alot of heavy traffic noise early which suited us....we needed an early start
The bed..... Breakfast also good
Comfortable and clean room, good shower, nice breakfast, helpful staff
