Wayside Motel

Clean and tidy

Nothing

Plenty of parking, good location on the way north, full kitchen

Dated facilities

The owner was amazing,a good bloke down to earth.

Nill, the whole thing was genuine and great.

Tidy

.

Very clean property and everything you could need was in the room. Would definitely stay here again.

It was hard to tell what number our unit was apart from that it was a lovely time

Short notice for a family crisis . Staff were considerate and efficient.

So clean

Our stay was amazing! It was comfortable, we were well looked after considering we were travelling for a funeral from Invercargill. The man on counter (so sorry ive forgotten your name) was the best! His service was amazing and he was so accommodating right down to ensuring our room was warm before we arrived as we were checking in late! Plenty of space, towels and kitchen equipment. My absolute fav was the spa bath it was divine! Everything was clean and tidy would 100% recommend them... Thank you so much for our stay

Absolutely nothing to dislike!

Comfortable stay, very clean and tidy, bed comfortable. Owner was very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend. Will stay again.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room with good parking outside. Very handy to where we needed to be, & friendly, helpful receptionist.

Clean and tidy unit

All Was Excellent . . . Top Service

The location was right on SH1. Very convenient

It was dated

La gentillesse du propriétaire, prévenant et accueillant !

Clean, comfortable and friendly staff

Very clean and tidy. The bed was super comfortable.

Great location right by the main road but also very quiet - couldn’t hear the traffic at all. Spotless and staff were friendly. Excellent value for money!

What breakfast? The heater, as it was quite cold. The room to move around.

A bag of rubbish left on a chair perhaps from previous tenant No coffee perc. Very cold, almost dampish sheets. Dead spider on window sill.

Lovely and clean

Great location, super great staff

The surrounds were in need of some work but the inside of my unit was great - very roomy and clean with everything I required

Nahe am Flughafen

Rauchmelder löste bei Benutzung vom Toaster aus.

The property was clean, quiet and a well equipped kitchen, good bathroom.

The bed and couch were way past the use by date. Old and soft. Almost impossible to get off the couch and the mattress was too soft. There was no chair to sit on. If these were updated the property would be great. The lawns were in need of attention.

Everything was excellent. Shop and pub nearby.

Great choice lovely people and spacious rooms

Good location

Location was great. Staff were helpful.

Rooms could use an update, quite a big unit, but felt cramped with the furniture.

Good cat behind counter

Sign out front was small

Lovely smelling unit , Arrived early and it wasn't a problem

Not a long enough stay

The staff were great and cleaned my room earlier then my check in as we arrives early, Indian man was fantastic

Didn't have breakfast. Great Location

Bathroom shower floor very slippery

Good value for basic cheaper stay. Everything was nice and clean. Free washer next door. Dryer only $3 load. Nice and accessible. Close to new shopping area. Lovely couple managing this motel. They were friendly and kind. Knowledgeable recommendations given for the area and Island.

No signage to find this facility. Our GPS brought us to an empty lot at the front of highway. After 3 trips around the block, we noticed a poster sign on ground which names Wayside motel suggesting it was down an alley type entrance behind the empty lot. Obviously owner of facility is not interested in investing any upgrades.a simple sign would be a start. NO working swimming pool on sight, yet it remains on all websites falsely advertising pool as a benefit. Our bedding was weathered and torn.

Spacious, good kitchen, comfortable, host was lovely

Water pressure in shower could be better

Very convenient, very tidy, great service

Quiet well equipped unit at the back. Helpful and accommodating owner. Handy location to shops and beach. Good stopover place for travelling north or south.

Location good for early start outside Christchurch going north. Has seen better days, but comfortable enough for an overnighter.

Basic furniture - comfortable enough but as a family apartment I wonder about all beds in one room. Squitty little bathroom/toilet with nowhere to put toilet bag etc and directly off the bed room

No signage, missed about 3 times. Stated there was a pool - was a fish pond. Dirty dishes. Outdated.

We did,d had breakfast

We could not close the front door due to a lubrication problem

Clean and tidy. Perfect stay.

It was good for where and what we were doing

Very dated facilities, looked abandoned. Grounds were untidy. Swimming pool was unusable due to water being green and a dead hedgehog init

A nostalgic kiwi motel Full kitchen Wifi Quiet

Dirty carpet, sticky

Good location. Older style motel. Food and coffee places nearby. Almost rural aspect. Very close to SH1 towards Lyttleton and an easy drive to Kaiapoi where we enjoyed breakfast. Very close to our event. Motel owner was very pleasant.

Unit could have been aired to get rid of closed up smell. Other than that it had everything necessary and double doors opened out onto lawn. The unit was clean.

I came over from the coast to do the truck driver course in Rangiora and it was a good location to get a drive around the area before I sat the practical

The privacy was great

Was shocked to find a towel in the sink and no hand soap in bathroom

Quiet location back from main road. Handy to local shops.

Generally felt a little neglected. Lawns overgrown and pool area neglected. Different standard of management to when we last stayed.

Location

Looks nothing like the picture shows, much older and dated

Neat old school motel

Floor was deadly slippery in Room 16

didnt have breakfast but loved the very helpful staff and fantastic spa bath

nothing just loverly

On route to my my destination. Last minute accommodation as nothing was available in previous towns. Warm welcome from proprietor. Friendly long term guest who was very happy staying there whilst working in the district.

A couple of the heating appliances didn't work. Fairly basic and outdated for the price. Could do with a refresh

I like that our unit is so cosy and great parking beside units. Shower is really big and great pressure. Beds are soft and warm. Restaurants and takeaways within a short walk.

Everything was great.

Great location with a pretty comfortable bed, wifi, good heating and clean.

Just a little dates and could do with some updating.

Very basic property but clean, with comfortable bed and decent linens.

Can’t complain- for the money it is an ok place to spend a night.

Spacious clean and had everything we needed.

Exterior a bit tired but not a problem for us as we just stayed overnight.

We really like the location, it is so close to Takeaways and Restaurants. Parking is great with ample parking beside the units. Units are clean and really warm with double glazing.

There is nothing to dislike

A higher couch as very low for oldies.

The motel was handy to where we were based for the week. It was comfortable but we didn’t spend much time there.

We were there for 7 nights. Had to ask for a new set of towels. Otherwise no service. Some of the hot points were not working and these days you need many. There were no rubbish bin liners in the bins. Full of un necessary furniture . The bathroom is very small and the shower soap dispenser was out of order

I love loved the spa bath!!! Even without the jets on it was like floating in complete bless! The host Mike was very welcoming, despite me mixing up the arrival time. He gave easy to follow spa directions and succinct orientation to the room on arrival. I liked that I got milk in one container to last my stay, not 20 little ones, and also that my car was parked right outside the door. Room is well laid out, I liked that there was a separate desk/workstation from the dining table. The location was cental to rangiora, Amberley and kaipoi, and a direct run to chch city. Very comfortable bed, quailty linen and electric blankets. Overall fantastic result at a reasonable price.

I didnt like being woken after a late night. I know this came from a place of ensuring I had all I needed, and the lady was very apologetic when she knocked on the door. I would recommend letting staff know in advance if your not to be disturbed or even have something people can leave on their the door.

Kitchen, two bedrooms, Plenty of room

The room was adequate for what we paid for.

The heater was plugged into a multi box which is a massive fire hazard. The bed was like a rock.

Staff were amazing and friendly

N/A

Close to woodend

Building I stayed in was old and need to be updated the kitchen was small as they had loads of things in it.

Very friendly and helpful host. Comfortable bed, room and the spa bath was fantastic
