Bella la posizione in un piccolo villaggio affacciato al mare. Comodo se si vuole approfittare del ristorante per mangiare qualcosa.

Purtroppo molte cose. Il servizio del personale è molto basico seppur gentile. Il problema è stata la camera...dimensioni a misura di gnomo dei boschi, idem per il lavandino in cui è stato complicato lavarsi la faccia da quanto piccolo, non c'è l'asciugacapelli, niente frigo e come riscaldamento una stufetta elettrica sempre per gnomi. Insomma il prezzo della camera non è altissimo rispetto alla media in Scozia ma richiede adattamento e poche pretese.

Probabilmente il miglior alloggio che ho mai trovato nella mia vita. Posizione fantastica, staff gentilissimo, camere semplici ma curate e caratteristiche. Non cambierei una virgola di quello che ho provato. Anche la cena e la colazione presso il pub annesso di altissima qualità con prezzi ultra popolari e piatti di livello. Veramente una esperienza stupenda!

La camera era piccola ma molto accogliente, dotata di tutto. Il personale gentilissimo e molto simpatico, ci siamo fermati a cena al ristorante e abbiamo chiacchierato con le cameriere. La colazione della mattina dopo molto buona. Johnshaven é stata una piacevole scoperta di tranquillità

Mi è piaciuto molto la posizione. Adoro il mare e dopo cena ho fatto due passi anche se ad agosto faceva un po freddo, ma dopo una giornata in giro per la Scozia ci voleva, con i gabbiani in sottofondo.

Non ho nulla da lamentare. Siamo arrivati tardi e andati via presto per cui non abbiamo goduto molto di tutti i confortevoli.

Appartement situé en face de l'Anchor Hotel, arrangé avec goût et très bien équipé. Accueil adorable des propriétaires et le restaurant vaut le détour, y compris pour le petit déjeuner qui restera l'un des meilleurs que nous ayons pris lors de notre séjour écossais.

Un peu de chauffage, même au mois d'aout, serait appréciable.

The apartment we stayed in was very spacious and quiet. It had all the kitchen appliances we needed to prepare dinner. The location was excellent, right on the small harbour of Johnshaven. The owner was also incredibly kind and helpful. We had a lovely stay.

La cordialità del proprietario, molto simpatico e disponibile. Camera piccola ma dotata del necessario, acqua in camera (non è scontato) Il proprietario ci ha detto chi contattare per cenare e ci ha dato consigli sul nostro viaggio..il villaggio di pescatori è un quadro ❤️

Sehr süße Lage in einem kleinen Fischdörfchen. Sehr freundliches Personal und eine tolle Bar im Erdgeschoss. Das Zimmer hat alles, was man braucht! Sehr sauber!

Posticino delizioso fronte mare in un piccolo borgo di pescatori. Personale squisito come le aragoste pescate in loco. Comunità ospitale e spiritosa. Ottima cucina sia per cena che per la colazione.

Stanca e bagno un po piccolini ma accoglienti.

La stanza è adorabile, piccola ma accogliente, ci avrei passato volentieri più notti del previsto. La posizione dell’hotel è molto caratteristica e anche la struttura tipica ti fa immergere nella vita del luogo. Personale gentilissimo e ci hanno fatto cenare anche se era tardi. Colazione fantastica! Ne vale la pena! Il pesce è buonissimo!

Fantastic old pub, staff were amazing, breakfast was beautiful, the woman who cooked our breakfast was absolutely charming and so happy to chat. The room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Dwa pokoje połączone, w jednym pokoju dwa łóżka, w drugim jedno małżeńskie. Czysto, czajnik, suszarka, duże fajne ręczniki. Łóżka pojedyncze bardzo wygodne, małżeńskie miękkie i podskakuje się przy każdym ruchu. Możliwość wykupienia śniadań za 12 funtow.

W łazience nie ma miejsca na powieszenie swoich rzeczy. Słuchawka prysznicowa bez regulacji, woda leje się na głowę lub na drzwi kabiny. W kubku brudna lepiąca się łyżeczka.

Personnel très accueillant. Le Pub au RDC est un vrai plus. Animaux de compagnie acceptés. Parking gratuit dans la rue. L'environnement sur le port est très agréable.

Das Hotel hatte eine schöne Lage direkt am Hafen. Der Besitzer war super freundlich und hat uns noch tolle Ausflugstipps gegeben. Das Frühstück war schottisch, aber richtig gut:)

Il punto di forza è sicuramente la posizione, ottima per visitare la zona e raggiungere facilmente le principali attrazioni, tra le quali il castello di Dunnottar ( 20 minuti ) La struttura ha un fascino autentico, con uno stile tipicamente scozzese e un'atmosfera marinara che la rende davvero caratteristica. È un hotel piccolo e accogliente, dove ci si sente subito a proprio agio. Se cercate un ambiente intimo, ricco di personalità e in una posizione strategica, l'Anchor Hotel è sicuramente una scelta che consiglio.

Appartamento famigliare di fronte all'Anchor Hotel. Spazioso, con cucina, salotto, due camere da letto e bagno. Struttura pulita ed accogliente. La zona è tranquilla e silenziosa. Alla sera abbiamo fatto una passeggiata in questo piccolo e silenzioso villaggio affacciato sul mare.

As with all these reviews one has to relate the rating to the cost. It's not a 5 star spa hotel, but it is a very reasonably priced option for an overnight or couple of nights stay and is a very good hotel in that category. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable, harbour setting and the pub food is excellent by anyone's standards, particularly the fish dishes.

Point d’étape dans notre séjour en Ecosse, proximité du château de Dunnottar. Hôtel dans un superbe environnement, les plats du restaurant nous ont conquis, ainsi que le petit déjeuner. Les chambres d’hôtels sont bien insonorisées, nous n’avons pas du tout entendu la cuisine se situant au même étage ainsi que le pub au rez de chaussée, nous avons très bien dormi et avons apprécié la chambre familiale. Nous avons beaucoup aimé l’ambiance et la gentillesse du personnel de l’hôtel restaurant

Location is excellent, staff welcoming and friendly. Food was great, with something for everyone’s taste. Definitely value for money and look forward to returning in the future.

Bella struttura in un caratteristico e autentico borgo marino. Sia l’esterno che gli interni curati e accoglienti. Gli spazi ben distribuiti. Tutto ben ordinato e pulito. Lo staff cordiale e gentile. Sia la colazione che la cena ben preparati, con ingredienti di ottima qualità e serviti in tempi adeguati. Speriamo di poter tornare in questo bell’hotel per godere ancora della buona ospitalità, del buon cibo e della bella passeggiata tra le vie del borgo.

La stanza e il letto molto comodo, la colazione molto curata con lo chef molto premuroso e gentile, il ristorante con ottimi piatti a base di pesce

Needed updating, lots of flies in breakfast room. Half breakfast menu unavailable. Wouldn't have opted for breakfast had we known. Have visited previously but needs some TLC now.

Mi è piaciuto l’esterno dell’hotel perchè ha mantenuto il suo stile e la posizione.

Il bagno, in particolare il lavandino è troppo piccolo. Il riscaldamento inesistente, a parte un piccolo termo a corrente. La colazione, pagata in loco, non è stata di mio gradimento.

Familiar surroundings - we have stayed often previously. Location is wonderful.

Nothing to dislike per se. However, no evening meals on Monday and Tuesday evenings. We were told of this at time of booking. No alternatives in Johnshaven, which meant driving to nearby Gourdon.

A spacious and cosy apartment in a beautiful location. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant is excellent, we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast.

Everything was great

We loved everything about the Anchor Hotel. We stayed in the flat as were 3 of us with 3 dogs. The rooms were lovely and well equipped. The location was brilliant, straight outside front door you were on the lovely harbour, with walks on your doorstep. The team at the Anchor were so friendly and welcoming as were all of the locals we met. There was a little hiccup with the flat on last day but Garry and the team sorted it for us beyond expectations. Thank you all

We booked a family room, which was basically a suit with 2 rooms. Beds were good, rooms are nice. Staff was welcoming. We had a dinner in the pub downstairs, and breakfast in the morning.

No chair in the rooms. The lock on the door didn't work.

Great little hotel. Awesome spot in a quiet little fishing village. Unfortunately couldn't try the local crab as Monday is chefs night off but nice evening listening to a local band having their jam session

Il faisait un peu froid quand nous sommes arrivés mais le personnel nous a donné un radiateur supplémentaire. La salle de bain n'a pas de prise électrique pour le rasoir et nous avons fait sauter les plombs plus d'une fois avec les radiateurs portatif. Un point aussi est le fait que le logement est semi enterré et que les fenêtres des chambres ont soit des poubelles devant soit des voitures.

The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely wonderful. Breakfast plentiful and good menu choices. All served with a friendly smile. Booking for dinner is a must.

The room was clean and very comfortable, but the bathroom, especially the sink, is small. However, it does make the best use of the space available.

A lovely hotel with a great atmosphere in a picturesque coastal village. The staff are helpful and friendly and we had everything we could possibly need during our stay. The restaurant serves wonderful food, and, in particular is a paradise for those who like seafood, with a fabulous selection to choose from.

The stay was brilliant, very clean, comfortable, and cozy, staff are helpful and friendly, location is just amazing with plenty of views and great locations to visit, food was amazing and fresh, 10/10 would recommend and will definitely stay again.

Bit cold in Johnshaven, but definitely worth it

Nice upstairs room in older seaside inn. Lovely location. Great food and atmosphere in bar/ restaurant. Breakfast was exceptional with great cooked options. Made to feel welcome by all staff especially the cook at breakfast.

La sistemazione è al piano superiore rispetto al Pub dove è possibile cenare. Soluzione sicuramente comoda anche per visitare la costa del Fife e il vicino castello di Dunnottar

Purtroppo la pulizia della stanza è risultata insufficiente (copriletto macchiato, bagno con molta polvere e residui di precedenti ospiti, contenitori di medicinali usati sotto al letto). Il mobilio ha tutti i segni del tempo e di una scarsa manutenzione, il bagno é praticamente sprovvisto di lavandino.
