We got a very special stamp on our Pilgrim passport that I will treasure. After six hours walking this was a perfect oasis.Minimarket on site also Atm.
We could only stay one night.

Reviewed Sep 10, 2026A little slice of luxury in a really beautiful room. It felt like a five star hotel, and for the Camino, that's saying something. It was a splurge fur me but well worth it. And the folks running it are very nice, despite being very busy. Also WONDERFUL sunset view from the terrace.

La habitación fue cómoda y la atención para acceder a ella estuvo muy bien organizada, incluso coincidiendo con el día de descanso del personal. En conjunto, una muy buena parada en Foncebadón antes de continuar el Camino hacia la Cruz de Ferro.
Conviene comprobar qué día descansa el personal. Nosotros estuvimos un miércoles y ese día no funcionaban ni la tienda ni el restaurante. Hay otros establecimientos en los alrededores donde comer, así que no supone un problema importante, pero es mejor saberlo con antelación.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026The staff were incredibly nice and helpful throughout our stay. The room was great, with a lovely view of the mountains. It was also super convenient having the restaurant and a small store right there for supplies, plus vending machines outside for anything extra. The bed was comfortable too, which made a big difference after a long day of walking. They also offer a laundry service, which I didn’t end up using but seems like a really nice option to have on the Camino.
Nothing to complain about, honestly a solid stop on the Camino.

Reviewed Jul 17, 2026We hadden een tweepersoonkamer in deze prachtige herberg die met veel liefde wordt gerunt. De kamer was klein maar van alle gemakken voorzien en alles was zeer schoon. De herberg heeft ook een supermarkt, een bar en een restaurant waar zeer lekker eten geserveerd wordt. Het uitzicht rondom de herberg was prachtig. Een absolute aanrader voor elke pelgrim!!

It has a lovely shaded terrace with a stunning view on the hills and a cloud of swallows flying overhead. Nice comfortable rooms with good beds, kind hospitalero's and I can recommend the Tagliatella a la Bolognesa🍝

The room was clean and tidy. Hostal-Restaurante y Tienda El Trasgu de Foncebadón tiene una ubicación muy conveniente. El restaurante ofrece una buena variedad de comida y la calidad es bastante buena. La habitación estaba limpia y ordenada.
One thing to note is that our room was on the top floor and had no window, so it relied on the ceiling fan for ventilation. However, the fan did not always work properly, so it would be better if this could be repaired. Overall, a decent and convenient place to stay. Un punto a tener en cuenta es que nuestra habitación estaba en la última planta y no tenía ventana, por lo que dependía del ventilador de techo para la ventilación. Sin embargo, el ventilador no siempre funcionaba correctamente, así que sería ideal que pudieran repararlo. En general, es un alojamiento cómodo y práctico.

The place is very nice and well stocked with supplies you might need for the Camino. They have a full restaurant that you have access to all day and the food is great. The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. We would DEFINITELY stay here again.

El personal no puede ser más amable y atento y todo allí respira cariño y atención al peregrino. La terraza del bar es muy agradable lo que invita a tomar algo allí sin buscar más opciones. Y se completa con una mini tienda donde tienes todos los imprescindibles. Inmejorable.

Moreover, it had a wonderful restaurant with delicious food options, many that were unique to the region. It also had a mini-store with a variety of merchandise to meet one’s needs while on the camino. The staff was amazing and made you feel like home. Overall, it was an incredible experience and would definitely consider going back to stay a few more days. Oscar

Reviewed May 31, 2026Großartig, 12/10 Punkten! Hier stimmt alles: Sehr nette Betreiber, sehr freundlich, mein Gepäck stand schon im Zimmer. Mein Zimmer war zwar klein, aber sehr schön. Hübsch eingerichtet, alles neu gemacht, mit Liebe zum Detail. So hat die blütenweiße Bettwäsche eingestickte Logos des Hotels. Das Duschbad neu, alles funktioniert perfekt. Unten im Haus gibt es ein Geschäft, das wirklich alles hat, was man als Pilger so gebrauchen kann. Von Obst über Schokolade, Nudelsuppen, Nüssen bis zu Socken, Sicherheitsnadeln usw.. Ich habe im Restaurant einen Salat (16€) gegessen, der auch sehr gut war. Direkt vor der Tür ein ATM. Der kleine Ort hat ein paar Gasthäuser, mehr nicht und liegt ca. 20 Min. vor dem Cruz de Fierro. Also, für mich war dieses Hostal wie das Paradies nach einem anstrengenden Tag und dem steilen Anstieg in der letzten Stunde. Preis-Leistung ist hier top!
