Good food and service.
I was upgraded on arrival which is us usually very welcome however i was upgraded to a larger room but unfortunately was directly over the kitchen so lots of pans rattling etc. This was tolerable but what wasn't and constituted in a phone call to reception was the chef playing loud bang bang music whilst cleaning down. They were asked to turn it off which he/she did but then proceeded to washup banging and clattering until 10.45pm. Wholly unacceptable, Room 5, please avoid!
Fabulous hotel. Lovely interior decor, rooms very comfortable, good choice of cooked breakfast and good selection of continental option. Lovely staff. The grounds are super with plenty of sitting spaces and a great activity area for kids. Would definitely recommend
Location good for visiting nearby National Trust properties and the Norfolk coast. Staff were friendly and helpful.
My husband found the stairs between the floors rather steep and awkward to manage. The lounge area was cold and not very welcoming.
Excellent breakfast. Friendly and very helpful staff. Exceptional for my dog and great fields to run free.
Everything was fantastic. Property is rural so a car would be an advantage but food wonderful so you don’t need to leave.
The cooked breakfast was nice but a little to small for me , but other items to fill you up
Everything was nice
Great breakfast, lovely friendly staff and fabulous location
Nothing of note
Everything was perfect from check in to check out. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive could not do enough for you. Excellent choice on menu and breakfast choice was superb. Would definitely stay again.
There was nothing to dislike.
I booked this for my mum who is 83 and her friend. They had a wonderful time and were extremely well looked after. Special thank you to James, Jay, Isla and Summer for your kindness and genuine care; they really did appreciate it. Mum has already asked me to book for next year! The rooms were spacious, beautifully laid out and clean with an abundance of tea and coffee etc. They ate in the restaurant which had a really good menu and said the food was fabulous. Thanks for such an amazing stay
When they had to leave !
The whole place is super relaxing & ideal for a special treat. Great service & food
Nothing
The overall ambiance, friendly welcome and great service. We cant think more highly of this lovely hotel and location.
The service was a bit slow at breakfast but nothing problamatic
Quiet and lovely building , meals were very very good
The only slight thing was there was not enough lighting on the dressing table , would suggest a small spotlight lamp so ladies could easily do hair and makeup
Nice room and hotel decor attractive. Adjacent field good for dog walking.
Bath towels unavailable during our stay with only hand towels provided. A shame as bathroom have both bath & shower.
Mooie inn, ligt prachtig.
Geuren uit de keuken op de kamer.
Lovely quiet relaxing location ideally situated for local attractions,,nothing not to like
Peaceful and best breakfast I have enjoyed in a long time, first class
Everything was fantastic, such charm. It’s so quaint and has everything you would need. The service outshined larger 5 star hotels we have stayed at James was fantastic and a credit to the place. He was always there if you needed him. The room although small had everything you would need, the shower was lovely and I didn’t want to get out of it.
The £40 admin charge to change the date from a Monday which I’m sure wouldn’t have been busy to a Friday which in fact came up on booking.com as £35 cheaper. The room was a bit cold and it was August, would be a worry in the winter months.
Quiet and secluded. Nelson suite was super and comfy. Dinner really excellent.
Nothing
Bed to small, no hollandaise sauce for 2 days for eggs benediction, no fruit if you were down after 9am.
Evening meal was excellent.
Breakfast let them down.it was chaotic. Stale pastries.no hollandaise sauce lack of fresh fruit.poached eggs were hard boiled. Service was so slow.
Absolutely stunning property
The price was a bit steep but as expected for such and exceptional property.
Beautiful hotel, bedroom was spacious with a comfortable king size bed. Staff excellent and a heads up to the chef, the food was delicious.
Nothing to dislike, could do with extra staff at breakfast as slow service.
I stayed here with my brother and we loved every bit of our stay from the warm welcome, fabulous dinner, excellent breakfast and service too!!
Couldn’t fault any part of this place. You must stay here!!
Friendly and very helpful staff, great chef. Lovely building and grounds.

Nicely appointed boutique hotel. Lovely furnishings and toiletries.
Really lovely location, rooms were nice, staff were lovely.
TVs didn’t really work. Breakfast was disappointing, however really good quality sausage and bacon but the rest wasn’t up to scratch
Location is lovely, well presented.
In hot weather very pleased to park under trees in their lovely grounds Attractive bedroom wall pictures, good shower, spacious room. Good meals, very helpful and pleasant staff.
Locatie. Prima eten.
Moest 1x dubbel mijn drankje betalen. Aangegeven maar hier werd niet verder over gecomuniseerd. Maar zo gelaten.
Nice welcome on arrival, stairs to the rooms could be a problem for some travellers as they curve around and the actual step feels shallow. The room was well presented and was clean, breakfast had lots of choice, however it was served from 8.30 am which is a little late for me. Evening meals were fine overall, however food and drinks seemed a little high, compared to other establishments in the area. Had nice outside areas to sit and relax
Stairs were a problem for my other half, cost of food and drinks seemed high.
The staff were very welcoming (especially Jay) and the location of a period house set in its own grounds were perfect for our dog to play and walk in their own meadow. Excellent chef with quality food, nice presentation and enthusiasm. Wide choice on the menus.
Very little.
Breakfast excellent.
Room could have been a little larger
How quite it was
The room is a little tired, one of the windows did not have the handle on it so we were a little concerned about opening it
Amazing stay!
A perfect hotel
Cosy cottage, comfortable beds and clean and tidy.
The breakfast was very good, but incredibly slow, it took nearly an hour for our food to come, arriving at 8.30am and not getting our cooked breakfast until nearing 9.30am. The winter duvets on the beds were a bit much for the summer heat.
A beautiful hotel set on wonderful grounds. They could do with a few extra staff on at breakfast. We had a lovely stay & the hotel is super fog friendly 🥰
Bar prices were very high. Med size wine & pint of beer £18
It’s was good the breakfast was good.and clean
The windows was stuck and one window was opened which was good because of the weather.its was a bit far. But it was a new experience.there not many people helping this young man.
Absolutely everything!! Was a lovely welcome and room was gorgeous. The food was delicious and the staff are a credit to the hotel.
NOTHING
Loved the relaxing laidback feel at Scarborough Hill Country Inn, the grounds and the great food. The cottage we had was very comfortable and beautifully decorated.
The laidback attitude worked to our detriment when lack of communication between staff meant that we were charged twice for our stay. Trying to get a refund from Booking.com is proving a nightmare, so I would always book direct in future.
Very comfortable room with a modern smart bathroom. Very clean and nicely decorated. Great choice of breakfast, all cooked to order so expect a short wait.
Nothing
Location & comfortable
Noisy refrigeration plant running all night
The breakfast was good- the bed and room a bit small.
Small bed
Very well maintained hotel. Rooms are fab and bed comfy. Food is excellent. Try the duo on the menu. Play area outside in the garden for young ones. Fabulous staff who cannot do enough for you. Highly recommend this place. Thank you for looking after us.
Beautiful place to stay. Very clean and lovely forest setting. Breakfast was fabulous.
It was all good
Presentation of a beautiful traditional property good meals
All good - nothing to dislike!!
Location and setting of the Hotel
Steep stairs and the shower was difficult to regulate the temperature, so we were moved to different accommodation in a bungalow on the sirte
Everything, beautiful room, very clean and comfortable. Lovely breakfast.
Nothing, we liked everything.
Characterful ,pretty ,relaxed , Homely clean and well kept
Slightly surprised by overnight abandon with doors unlocked pre warning would have helped Stairs extremely steep again prior warning
It was very quiet just outside of North Walsham and the room facilities were very good. The accommodation has a large garden which had sun beds to take advantage of the good weather. The garden also had a play area for young children.
The bar closed rather early which was a shame because the property had different areas to sit and enjoy the late sunshine.
Very welcoming staff, room spotless, bar had good selection of drinks, food amazing, beautiful grounds with many different areas to relax in, secluded away from the main road, but close enough to go the town out if you wish to, very peaceful. Will definitely go back
Nothing I can think of
A beautiful hotel, great grounds and exceptional rooms. Food was out of this world, one of the best evening meals we have ever had!
Really nothing to not like!
We have been afew times with are French bulldog . Very comfortable & very clean . The staff are very friendly & think the blonde girl was called Abbey that cleaned are bungalow we stayed in !! She is very , very good . I was ill one day & she brought me nice thinks over . Thank you Abbey ( hope that’s her name )
Nothing to dislike love it here !!
Very good
The property was very lovely, very hospitality. I liked that there was parking, the staff were friendly and very helpful and the facilities were good where we got free coffees and teas in the room, a comfortable bed and a tv. The restaurant for an evening meal was also fantastic, probably the best meal we had when we stayed. I liked that the staff let us have scones in our room when we watched football, and they were very lovely and accommodating and understanding.
I felt as if the holiday’s continental breakfast was limited, however I understand that it is a small hotel. The cooked breakfast was excellent and surprisingly filling. Maybe the hotel could invest in more on site facilities, however the area is charming and the closeness to places like Cromer makes this hotel perfect. I did find that the hotel should have supplied fans when you checked in especially due to the heatwave but it’s not an issue.
Beautiful location, away from the hustles and bustle. The bathroom was amazing.
The fan in the room was very noisy. It was hot so we had to have it on, however it made a tinny sound all through the night
Comfortable, quiet and charactful hotel set in lovely grounds with helpful amenable staff. Very good breakfast .
No criticism
A beautiful place in a great setting
Our room had an air purifier unit when a air conditioning unit would have suited better to cool the room
Very relaxing and beautiful surroundings.
The crows in the trees was so loud. The bed was very uncomfortable so couldn’t sleep.
Set in the countryside, old but lovely and well kept building.
There wasn’t anything that we did not like
Lovely hotel in a nice location, perfect for exploring the Norfolk coast. Tastefully decorated and very clean. We ate here two out of three nights and really enjoyed the food. Breakfast was excellent. We would definitely return.
Nothing
Outstanding country house hotel that is better than its online brochure. Very peaceful in an idyllic setting and dog friendly. The food and staff were exceptional.
We stayed in The Stables. Surprisingly spacious 2 bed cottage with a kitchen and living area. Really well laid out. Private outside area with seating. Felt really luxurious and so happy I booked this instead of the standard rooms.
We were in a rush. Breakfast not until 8.30 and we arrived then but didn’t receive our food until 9.25 despite saying we needed to be quick as we were catching a train.
The location & hotel are beautiful, Ellie who was on duty when we arrived was wonderful. My dogs were totally catered for, and wonderful to have a place to walk them on site - service & food excellent
Breakfast was superb, food was hot Same for dinner
The hotel had plenty of character and nice and quiet Breakfast was super
Maybe a better shower
Menus were good and good value , staff and surroundings excellent
We got upgraded to a gorgeous room. Staff were so friendly and food was absolutely delicious, fantastic chef! Ideal location…
Nice location, great rooms, brilliant staff.
Food wasn't as good as on previous occasions.
Quiet and friendly. Good breakfast and cottage was great
Car has a skip and random bins. Could be over but appreciate it’s only a car park
Good shower, clean room with tea and coffee facilities highly appreciated There is a lovely outside area to relax in the evening and a good restaurant on site that served delicious food. Excellent breakfast.
The room was lovely with a modern bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. The evening meals were delicious 10/10.
Nothing really.
Characterful, relaxed ambience, nice setting, comfortable bed in a very pleasant room.

The suite was stunning, staff were fab and the food was amazing. We loved every bit of it and can’t wait to return. It was amazing 😊
Beautiful old house, staff were excellent and food was very good. An exceptional dinner and a great breakfast. We had the Nelson Suite and it was spacious, beautifully decorated and had some nice pieces of furniture. Our bed was extremely comfortable. View from our windows was very pleasant.
Stairs were steep but nothing to be done about this, it is a period building. However, worth noting if you have mobility issues.
Food, service and accommodation were excellent.
Nothing
Another amazing stay. Great room. Staff and food excellent
Beautiful place with lovely staff and food.
My partner's beer was off and cloudy and caused an upset stomach but if he had not been so polite I am sure staff would have changed it
Beautiful property and central location
There is nothing we didn’t like
Upgraded room with lovely view of the trees in the garden. Pretty building. Comfortable bed. Rainfall shower. Lovely garden to sit and have a drink in.
Food and drink over priced for what it was.
Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Excellent food
Being woken at 4am by fire alarm.
James was particularly helpful
It was a unique place to stay. Decoration and furnishings thoughtfully placed in tune with property. Staff were helpful and friendly.,
Nothing.
Lovely place, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, high standard but unpretentious, good for kids too
First impressions of our room, and it smelt lovely. Everywhere was spotless. There was plenty of options for breakfast.
There was nothing to dislike.
Everything was perfect, from first arriving to leaving. The staff were excellent, and James and Jay were friendly and helpful, we honestly could not off ask for more. The food was superb, well done to the chef and staff, the food locally sourced was wonderful, the luxury fish pie was delicious with a big helping, Breakfast was very good with continental and a good selection of cooked food as well, the eggs benedict was lovely. The room was excellent, clean and bright, and very comfortable. The bathroom was 10 out of 10 beautiful modern furniture bath as well as a shower. We will definitely stay here again if, in the area.

The breakfast was great, plenty of options Also the evening meal was delicious . The room was very cosy and very clean as well as the bathroom . The only thing I would do next time is not book a small double , it would have to be a bigger bed we stayed in room 6 . We enjoyed everything about our stay it was very nice to have our food at night outside on the patio area. 😊
To be honest we liked everything about this lovely hotel. 👍.such a beautiful building and the grounds outside is so tranquil . Will definitely come back .
Breakfast was fresh and varied. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Beds were comfy and rooms and bathrooms well appointed.
I would recommend refilling the complimentary toiletries for stays longer than 2 nights.
The Scarborough Hill Country Inn has it all: super-friendly (including DOG-friendly) staff, a great chef/kitchen, gorgeous terraces and green areas in which to lounge and drink tea (or gin tonics), and lovingly decorated rooms. If you are - as are my partner and I - dog owners, then there really is no better place to bring your furry friend. Everybody was so welcoming and warm towards our (pretty high-maintenance) cocker spaniel Bo. We had a gorgeous time. Highly recommended!
Our third time visiting, an absolute delight. Lovely staff, beautiful property & rooms, calm & relaxing but also dog friendly. Dinner was exceptional. Highly recommend and will be back many times in the near future.
Beautiful hotel within stunning surroundings. We loved our room, very comfortable bed, very spacious room and the ensuite was great. Evening meal and cooked breakfast wasvery good.
Nothing
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Bed was a bit small, and you couldn't open the windows in the bedroom. Thank goodness there was a fan, and a new opening window in the vathroom
A perfect weekend break for me and my young family. Peace and quiet and open air. Very close to a couple of beautiful beaches.
This is a beautiful place, the gardens are stunning and our room (5) very comfortable. On arrival we were upgraded without request. overlooking garden. Furnishing lovely, did not have dinner here due to eating before we arrived but will definitely return to try the evening meal. Overall ten out of ten.
NOTHING
Beautiful setting and nice to have access to additional activities. The staff were great and very attentive, went above and beyond especially with regard to dietary requirements.
Food, staff, decor, facilities location
Absolutely nothing
Best Breakfast set up, myself and my wife have ever had in a hospitality stay! Owner takes pride in service and the food and how its delivered proved her dedication to her establishment. Best Breakfast Menu we have come across.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Room was lovely and nice views outside, breakfast was well presented and as I requested.
Dinner in the evening was quite expensive compared to similar hotels
Beautiful building and grounds. Staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Everywhere was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delightful.
The young lady serving breakfast was polite and accommodating but it was a very busy time. She had to apologise a lot for delays yet having a second member of staff would have been beneficial. She was rushing around and working incredibly hard.
Perfect place, great hotel , great staff, highly recommended
