Fantastic small hotel with great breakfast and very helpfull staff.

The communication from the time of booking until after my stay was incredibly smooth, helpful and very friendly. Fran gave me a lot of tips on the trails and weather beforehand so I could plan my hikes accordingly. Eduardo and the rest of the team at the hotel were also very kind to help during my stay. Since I couldn't pack any trekking poles in my carry-on baggage, I was ready to rent some at a store but they actually let me borrow a pair during my stay..! Besides their lovely service, the hotel itself was very cozy with rustic, beautiful decor and a log-house type architecture. The room was always warm, the bed was comfy and always clean. There's plenty of complimentary water bottles in the room but the tap water is perfectly drinkable as well. Breakfast had different jams, breads, pastries, cheese, ham, fruits, juices, milk, fresh yogurt, and scrambled eggs and bacon made per request. The yogurt was very good - please try it with the sweet peaches!! It was so good to be able to go home to this hotel after a long day's hike and wind-down with a hot shower / bath and crash into bed. If I have the honor of being able to visit Patagonia and El Chalten again, I will for sure stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Everything was so great. One fyi - for upstairs rooms, there's no elevator so if you need elevator accommodations, please make sure to let them know in advance. It wasn't a big deal for me at all and I saw they're very happy to accommodate those who need the first-floor access, so just an fyi for those planning to book.

Everything ! The location, the quality of the accommodations, the very cosy common area and the kindness and efficiency of the management. Even in the evening when we needed some help with an emergency cleaning, Roberto (or Alberto) was really helpful ! In the morning we found all our clothes cleaned and ready to be picked up at the reception.

El cuarto y la cama súper cómodos, el personal fue muy amable, nos dieron recomendaciones y estuvieron atentos a nuestras dudas y necesidades. Está a unos pasos del inicio del hike para Laguna de las Torres y a 10 minutos caminando de donde comienza el sendero al Fitz Roy. Como salimos de madrugada y no podíamos desayunar nos dejaron unas medias lunas y fruta.

Really lovely helpful staff. Great reception area with comfy sofa and armchairs. Coffee shop (although there was nothing gluten free).

Only the fact that they said they could provide a gluten free breakfast which in fairness they could - eggs, yogurt, fruit but the carb offering was crackers which were served in the same basket as non gf crackers. There were plenty of shops and cafes serving gf food with two really good ones opposite, it just makes me a bit peeved when the “normal” breakfast looked lovely and varied and with a tiny bit more effort the gf one could have too

This place is simply perfect. It found a sweet spot between luxury and coziness. It has everything you need needs to fully rest and recover after strenuous hiking. At the same time it’s really boutique, so you are not being surrounded by mass tourism.

It was strange to find no TV in the premium room- not that it was needed- but we thought it is a standard facility these days. The price is on a higher side, and the fact that you cannot cancel a few days before arrival (like in many other hotels), and are charged half already a month before you are there - is a bit strange (why?). All that said - did not affect our stay. May be just something for the management to think about to make it all even better.

I loved everything about this hotel! It is about a 10-minute walk from the bus station, and about 5 minutes from the start of the main street where the restaurants are – so while it can be a bit of a walk to some of the dining options, it also means it is quiet. The hotel itself is small and has a cozy boutique feel to it that sets it apart from your standard big-name chain hotels. Upon entering, you are welcomed into a large window-filled room split between the front desk and a space decorated with local art where guests can sit and enjoy coffee and pastries. We spent a lot of downtime here reading and relaxing! The breakfast room is also down here, and the breakfast spread was great, with freshly cooked eggs on offer in addition to your standard cereals, pastries, and yogurts. The front desk staff are very helpful when planning hikes, and were able to make multiple recommendations to us. Now on to the room: we stayed in a Standard Double. This was the only hotel that provided not only USB ports beside the bed but also a power strip on the desk, so we had ample spaces to charge our multiple devices. This was so convenient! At every other hotel, we were usually we were having to juggle what devices were charging and when. Our room was also super bright and filled with light, and had a gorgeous view of Mount Fitz Roy whenever it poked out of the clouds. The bed was huge and comfortable, and I appreciated that the closet was a good size and contained a safe.

The only negative is that I wish our room had a mini fridge. We went to a restaurant and wanted to bring leftovers back, but couldn’t because we had nowhere to put them.

Lovely small and friendly boutique hotel in El Chalten. Check in was very friendly and great advice given about planning our hikes. Packed lunches were tasty with enough food to fuel our Laguna de los Tres hike! Our room was large, clean and comfortable with the added advantage of an espresso machine and a bath! You can order eggs/bacon with breakfast. Walking distance from restaurants and trailheads Good restaurant recommendations provided - although some get busy early!! Parking is available on the street outside if you have your own or a hire car. Nice quiet location away from the main street.

Not really a dislike but the breakfast is quite simple - however it was more than adequate to set you up for a day of hiking. A nice addition would be a filtered water machine with options for hot/cold/sparkling as many of the Chile hotels we stayed in had to fill hiking water bottles. We understood on check out that the tap water is fine to drink but were not sure on arrival.

There is truly nowhere else I would want to stay in El Chaltén but Kaulem. If they’re booked, rearrange your trip. This is the place to stay. We loved our modern, pristine, and spacious premium room, which gave us plenty of space to spread out. As an unexpected bonus, we could even see the tip of Fitz Roy from our seating area, which completely wowed us. Breakfast was generous and thoughtfully done, with cereals, fresh fruit, breads, meats and cheeses, pastries like apple crumble and carrot cake, plus hot eggs made to order. Every staff member was wonderful, but what made our stay truly exceptional was Cecilia. Her warmth, kindness, and expert advice on the hikes we wanted to do elevated our entire trip and made us feel genuinely cared for.

We loved staying here! The room was lovely, and great value for money comapred to other spots in town. It was walking distance to all the restaurants in town and to any of trail head walks. We loved the breakfast, it felt very B&B, and loved all the home baked sweet treats. They also offer a packed lunch which was super handy as we were out walking all day.

We had a wonderful stay here in El Chaltén. The hotel is decorated with a lot of taste, with warm wood details throughout. Our room was very spacious, with a high ceiling that gave an even more generous feeling of space. The beds were comfortable, with good-quality, extra-long mattresses. The bathroom was spotless, which we have not always found easily during our trip in Argentina. The staff were very helpful with making arrangements and giving good recommendations in the area. Breakfast was clearly above average, with homemade cookies, yoghurt, fresh orange or grapefruit juice, and freshly prepared eggs in the morning.

What a lovely place this is. Great room with a good bed and comfortable covers. The whole property is comfortable and nicely appointed. Eduardo at the front desk recommended we get immediately to hike as the weather was changing. WE did and were very happy that we did. Great shower. Shower. Nice breakfast. Pleasant smell throughout the facility and they did a very thorough job of cleaning the rooms.

Can't think of anything is why we gave it a 10.

Staff is just stellar. Great advise, knowledgeable, helpful attitude. We loved the architecture and the artwork. Bed and bed coverings were extravagantly lush. After hiking in some sleet, it was perfect for warming up. We weren’t staying served warm brownies with ice cream along with our bottle of wine as we sat in the community room to read. Excellent breakfast: fresh fruit, fresh bread and rolls, French press coffee, and eggs made to order.

The staff were very fliendly and helpful. Also, the room was clean and comfortable. the breakfast was great, as was the take away lunch pack. they dont have a much on offer for dinner but there is a nice cheese platter and good selection of wine and local beers. it was a very relaxing spot to rest after big days on the tracks!

Beautiful room (the suite) and small hotel. Breakfast was quite good with prompt service. And all the staff were great. Nice being on the edge of town. They know you are there to hike and create a really welcoming place to return to after a long hard day.

Nothing negative about the hotel . However, be aware that each time you do a trek it will cost you 45,000 Argentine pesos per person. This has to be paid by card. This we felt was very extreme . We would be happy to pay a fee but this we felt was too much . This think that this will deter travellers .

Oh, this is just a luxury hotel. Everything is clean, new. Every little detail is very well thought out. Good materials were used for finishing and excellent furniture. The girls at the reception helped to find hiking poles. And helped with other advice. It's great to come back to such a cozy hotel after hiking in the mountains.

Amazing property! Huge rooms with heated floors and very modern bathroom. Staff was amazing and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Only negative was spotty WiFi at times but this didn’t negatively effect our experience. Would stay here every time!!!

Kaulem Hotel was the perfect base for my Patagonia adventure! The location is unbeatable—just a short walk from stunning hikes like Cerro Torre. The cozy and spacious rooms, breathtaking views, and warm hospitality made my stay unforgettable. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the breakfast was the perfect fuel for my hikes. Highly recommend!

The room was cosy and huge, and we had a nice lounge corner that faces Fitz roy! But the best thing about the accommodation was the staff! Everyone was friendly and helpful, gave us good advice on hiking route and weather. Provides lunch boxes which was a saviour during our hike! And they also managed to help us with some last minute laundry services

Comfortable room. Breakfast was simple, but tasty.

Wifi in the room was not good. We had to go out to the lobby to get a decent signal. Wish that the breakfast had either a coffee machine or pre-brewed coffee for guest to help themselves. It does not work well to have to ask the service person to serve you (especially if you like a 2nd or 3rd cup). The box lunch was significantly overpriced. Did not like the noise from the room upstairs (we were at the end of the first floor).

Very nice hotel with excellent staff and breakfast

The staff , the location, the breakfast and lunch boxes, the rooms ands grounds were beautiful.

The only thing that I didn’t like was that there was no air conditioning so the rooms were stuffy and hot. Would not be a problem in cooler months but in summer was hot. We could open a window during the day.
