Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Good breakfast. Realy nice comfortable room. Good service from the staff.
Stairs and lock of facilties for dissabled guests.
A well maintained property overlooking the village green. Service was excellent and food was very good.. The lounge was comfortable.
The tv remote was broken, which was disappointing.
Location. Quirkiness.
Just expected something more polished based on their email marketing.
Perfect stay on the Coast to Coast. Interesting decor!
Good
I don’t remember
Hotel with fab views over village green lots of character Helpful friendly staff Fab breakfast
Dated bathroom
Beautiful
V welcoming staff and good breakfast
Out of season asparagus and pea risotto on dinner menu

Bathroom across the corridor. Bedroom in need of an update.
Location, views, room, friendly staff
Amazing location Reeth has got to be my all time favourite place. From start to finish I could not fault a thing
Great location. Comfortable room. Lovely staff. Excellent food. Dog friendly (with unexpected treats).
Great character but a little sad to see a wonderful old property with opulent decor fading and in need of maintenance.
The hotel is in a lovely village . All the staff were very friendly..
Hotel is not five star ( I would say 3⭐ ) very misleading the way it’s advertised The sign actually on the hotel says five star restaurant with rooms.. its very tired looking our room needed a refurb ..Paint peeling of the windows . Ect. The garden to the front needs a lot of attention.. The place could be amazing but I do get it that would cost a fortune.. Terrible smell of dogs in our room the third day that I found strange I’m guessing they used the hoover after doing a room that had a dog staying.. breakfast was ok except the last day the omelet was amazing.. The staff are making the best with what they have ..
Location Room size/view Comfy Breakfast
No reception desk as such but would definitely return
El edificio muy bonito, bien decorado, limpio, buena ubicación, silencioso. Y el restaurante es excelente.
Loved the location. Easy parking and nice welcome. Excellent breakfast.
Good breakfast- great location- nicely furnished lounge
no food on night we stayed
The whole experience.
Lovely boutique hotel with great food and helpful staff
There was a smell of drains when the toilet wash flushed
Super friendly staff, good sized rooms and an awesome location.
Location, exterior, garden, breakfast and friendly staff
Quite dated, unable to book dinner, no suggestion of anywhere else to eat.
Lovely reception lady, great breakfast, quirky decor
Room was rather small for a twin, and in the attic so a bit low ceilinged. Shower was tricky to work and keep consistent
Location is beautiful. Lovely views from the front of the hotel of the rolling hills and countryside. A great stop for the coast-to-coast. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great.
Excellent breakfast, nice hotel, nice staff.
Great location, comfortable, clean and loved the decor.
Nothing to dislike.
Great location, nice room with modern bathroom (big tub and separate shower), friendly staff and good cooked to order breakfast.
Beautiful location at the top of The Green in Reeth. Building was fabulous, rooms super comfy, breakfast was excellent and the friendly and attentive service was first class.
No complaints whatsoever.
Mark was very friendly and professional and made us very welcome. The room was lovely and the view amazing.
Brilliant garden areas for eating, drinking or lounging Great little village square surrounded by hills and dales, market on Fridays
Very comfortable room, super breakfast, hospitable and friendly owners and staff. Planning a return visit.
View, position of the hotel, helpful staff.
Bed was lovely but too high, sink in bathroom far too small.
Mark was lovely.
Background noise in the room at night.
Loved the relaxed feel and decor.
Schöne Lage und Aussicht
Definitiv keine 5 Sterne , eher 3. Keine Fernbedienung, sehr kleiner Fernseher, Badezimmer nicht im selben Raum
First impressions land round hotel needs managing
Chef missing due to family reasons had to use one of hotels suggestions very good. But looking forward to eating at Hotel.
Location
Facilities or lack of them. Only one member of staff. No evening meals due to no chef employee
The room had a fabulous view, comfortable bed
Nothing
Very Good
Bathroom a walk in shower preferably
Booked for 33rd wedding anniversary which I informed Hotel about , would have been nice to receive bottle of something or chocolates on arrival as per online photos especially as informed Hotel and would gladly have paid extra. Location of Hotel excellent and great to overlook the green. We paid over £253 for their top suite which although expensive seemed fair for the location and inclusive of breakfast. The suite was excellent and had everything we needed. Very homely cozy and home from home. Only constructive criticism..rear garden was very unkempt and unusable and overgrown , the rear entrance we used was very messy with smelly bins and an old kitchen grill on floor to greet us. No criticism with room accommodation however the breakfast was a let down. Even though we prebooked night before and had a specific time ..the order we requested wasn't followed through..breakfast seemed understaffed, over rated and a miss mash. Bacon was under cooked and fatty and sausages were bland and again undercooked , we asked for both to be overcooked and crispy. The standard of our breakfast did not match the grade of the accommodation. We will return in the same room but will have a lot better breakfast across the road at Copper Kettle .
Breakfast
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting overlooking the centre of the village of Reeth. Amazing decor and furnishings, super garden, excellent breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended!
A tiny thing...the tv was very small so not possible to watch Grand Prix highlights from bed BUT I totally understand that a big tv would have spoiled the look of the room!
Location was ideal Parking on site was available Bed was very comfortable
Significant issue with plumbing in the bathroom Everytime the toilet flushed a terrible smell emanted through the extremely small sink The shower tray overflowed with the shower water so clearly an ongoing issue which should have either not been let or a reduced rate The chef couldn't make it in so the restaurant was closed and the bar closed at 8pm as there was no food
Great location in the middle of Reeth .We had Comfortable stylish room at the rear which was good given the high tempreatures when we stayed. The owners may need to think about supplying a fan to help keep the befrooms cool.in future. Excellent staff and great quality food in restaurant.
Bedroom was a lityle too warm.
De ligging en het uitzicht, en dog vriendelijk personeel.
Toilet en douche in de gang. Lichte gordijnen
Initially contact with the hotel excellent as we last minute had to change our dates. The hotel accommodated us and we thank you so much. Upon arrival, we were met by one of the staff and she was so cheerful, so helpful. The location of this hotel is superb! Our room was superb with just the most amazing view. Again breakfast absolutely gorgeous with locally sourced produce. An outstanding hotel with very pleasant staff - what more can you ask!
Nothing
Dinner was excellent There was a bath in the bathroom as well as a shower
Room was a bit shabby and there was no view
Wonderful welcome for our stay … all staff were lovely - room was fabulous - very comfortable 😊 and the village of Reeth is stunning

The property was in a fantastic location and the views where stunning
Not there fault but it was very warm in the bedroom at night maybe put a electric fan just in case
Beautifully decorated, beautiful building, very quiet, lovely breakfast
It was all good
Location on the village green, good view from the front. Breakfast was good. Colourful but garish decor throughout (see negatives). Nice lounge. Good seating area outside.
We booked this hotel for the food, unfortunately dinner was unavailable as they'd had to dismiss the head chef for something serious (not told what). Booked a twin room but given a double. Had to wait whilst they remade the beds. No drying facilities (coast to coasters beware). Microscopic basin, barely big enough to fit your hands in. The fancy kettle wouldn't even fit in it properly - water poured out of the 'designer' spout all over the floor as you manoeuvred it out. Garish but colourful decor throughout (see positives).
none better
all good
Fantastic location, friendly staff and a great breakfast.
The room we stayed in. Thwaite was clean but according to the website had recently been fully refurbished! The bathroom which was across the corridor desperately needed updating. The shower was new but the rest was very dated.
A lovely place to stay, in a perfect position in Reeth. in glorious Swaledale.
Nothing to dislike.
The hotel is conveniently placed in Reeth with good views over the surrounding countryside.
This is not a 5* hotel. Probably a 3. boarding on a 4. The decor is worn and the bar and dining facilities are shabby. The staff were helpful but the whole experience had a "faulty towers" feel about it.
Lovely stay, really compfy bed and a warm welcome after a long day walking in the hills
The blinds where a little annoying, but thats just nit picking
The location is excellent with amazing views. Our room was comfortable and clean. The decor is a little quirky but smart and well finished. We were made to feel most welcome on our arrival and during our stay by friendly staff.
The breakfast system requires some rethinking. We were asked to book our hot choices the night before and to indicate our approximate arrival time, however the hot food was then usually produced within a few moments of our arrival, when we were still eating our cereals from the cold buffet. This meant either abandoning the cold cereal or risking the hot food going cold. We were not the only ones this happened to. A longer delay needs to be left after the guests arrive in the dining room before bringing out the hot food.
Location was nice, Reeth is a lovely little market town
Breakfast order we filled in night before arrived wrong. I found a long hair in my breakfast so Mrs left hers and I didn’t enjoy mine.
Amazing 👏
View from the window.
We have never had to wait for a breakfast this long! We had a full day of hiking ahead of us and had to wait for 1,5 hours for something that is made in 5-10 minutes, nothing fancy. The waiter was friendly at first but did not act professional when we said that we had been waiting for an incredibly long time. It seems that only one waiter is not enough to handle the breakfast room. The coffee was quickly gone and not refilled until several guests made him aware. By the way, we did not have any of the praised bars in our room on arrival.
Fabulous views over looking the fells and green. Lovely seating area in front of the hotel to enjoy the scenery. We dined in the restaurant and it was delicious, my husband had lamb and he said it was the best he’d ever had, kudos to the chef. 5 star breakfast too. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially Christine and the gentleman. We will definitely return.
Nothing
Great location lovely people. Just a lovely place
The Burgoyne provided a comfy and luxurious stay in the midst of Yorkshire's gorgeous scenery. We had just finished hiking a portion of the Coast to Coast path, which led right into the village. Our room on the top floor (the Ivelet room) had a view over the cute village green and lots of space to spread out. Our other room was on the middle floor (the Fremington room) and less spacious but still lovely. Christine gave us a warm welcome and cheerfully managed breakfast for all of us and the other guests, too - and breakfast was very yummy. We also got packed lunches for an extra fee. The decor is maximalist in a fun way, and there is a lounge as well as space to sit outside if the weather cooperated.
No complaints!
Wunderschönes Haus-tolle Lage

Everything was first class
Nothing
Location was fantastic, best view in town. Our room (and bathroom) was large and comfortable. The breakfasts were also quite good.
The whole hotel was quite dated and overdue for a spruce up, certainly not the 5 star experience we were expecting (and paid for). The same could be said for the ‘fine dining’ restaurant, while tasty, the food and service were pub quality.
Spacious room with great view. Excellent beef cheek main course.
Although the main course was really top notch, but the starter an desert were only ok
Eclectic decor, great welcome, very comfortable beds, room amazing
Nothing
Location of hotel was spectacular. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was lovely.
On all three days there wasn't hot water, it was tepid at best. There was a leak in the roof outside our room which was worrying because there were electrical wires exposed and getting wet. The cleaner left our room wide open with the hotel master key in the door after cleaning. We received an apology but even so, you don't really expect this. Although rated AA 5* hotel, in our opinion it was more like a 4* B&B It was very expensive for the size of the room and the lack of facilities in the hotel.
Location and views from window stunning Nice staff, but overworked, but they did their best.
Tv and shower not working properly. Service rather slow due to lack of staff, which rather spoilt our stay.
Comfortable room, clean, and quirky decor. Great location, convenient car park to rear. Lovely lounge with weird and wonderful decor, the small tables could have done with a wipe down though. Pleasant, friendly staff. Gorgeous walks in the area, lots of nature, peace and quiet.
Breakfast - The waiter was rushed off his feet and had no help, we waited AGES then were brought the wrong meals, and before our tea had even arrived. Once it did arrive the food was fine, but nothing special. Bar drinks were expensive, although we expected this as the restaurant is classed as 5*. (We didn't dine here so can't comment)
Great location with stunning views. Loved the quirky style decor. All rooms have their own style. Serves a great breakfast. Dog friendly.
Nothing
This was an absolute gem of a hotel. It was beautiful comfortable and the staff were so welcoming and hospitable. The location in the Yorkshire Dales is incredibly beautiful and lovely hiking available nearby. The food at the restaurant on site was FANTASTIC.
The views, friendly service and excellent views
Fantastic stay the owner Sarah went above and beyond for us. Breakfast started at 0830 but we wanted to get a way early to complete our leg of the coast to coast. She prepared our breakfast for 0700 allowing us to leave early. Couyaak.for more, would highly recommend staying and the evening meal was also amazing.
Nil
Rooms are traditional yet modern. The flapjack they leave in the room is to die for. And the food in the restaurant is to die for
Very comfortable slightly quirkily decorated hotel. Very clean rooms and public areas with friendly staff. Great location to explore Reeth and the wonderful Swaledale with plenty of walks from the village. We ate one evening at the hotel which, although limited in choice, was lovely with gluten free options too. We didn't get chance to sit out on the terrace looking out over the village green that would be lovely on a warm summer's evening.
A minor point really but the gluten free 'full english' breakfast did not include sausages (which are widely available as gluten free) or black pudding (more difficult gluten free) and so were left out. It would have been nice to have an extra slice of bacon/egg/mushroom is a substitute. Having said that, we would stay again.
Breakfast was good.
Room was ridiculously hot...we turned off all radiators and tried to sleep with all windows open. The dawn chorus was very loud! Hardly slept. Bathroom looked lovely but shower did not work properly...scalding one moment, freezing the next.
Fantastic location
Electric shower with poor water output - shower head handle split. Dressing table stool badly stained. Bedroom door would not close without slamming it shut - advised by housekeeping to do this. Breakfast omelette on 2nd day really bad - waitress said that it had stuck to pan looked like a pancake that had been broken up into pieces
Location is amazing. Breakfast OK, but not outstanding. Not espcially hot, sausages skins were tough. The room was lovely, comfortable with amazing view.
Shower looked good but showerhead too heavy for its support so constantly slipping down spraying wall instead of us.
Great location, lovely views. Very quiet Evening meal was excellent - we ate off the bar menu
Nothing
Perfect location to explore the area. Boutique hotel with a great view and generous sized room.
Nothing
Excellent position and the room was large and airy.
The seats in the room were too low and large. Not suitable for old people. Walk in shower would have been better than shower over bath. Curtains did not close.
Comfort and design
Nothing
The little bits that were put in the room. Toiletries and cake.
The positioning of the furniture in the room. The sun shone on mirrors, making it difficult to put or take markup or curl your hair. Also, how the dressing table shook when you walked past.
Communication. Christine. The room, the cleanliness, the silence, the comfy beds, the amazing views, free parking, amenities in the room, breakfast, dog friendly, the list goes on
Nothing I could say
The location is lovely lovely hotel
Very small room
The location and decor. Great breakfast!
The bathroom as across the corridor
I got an upgrade to an en-suite room thanks to Ailsa who was very friendly as were all the staff.
Nothing
Great location for walks straight from Reeth. Friendly staff.
Food in restaurant was of variable quality. Some meals very tasty, others not so much.
We enjoyed the spacious bathroom and large shower, alongside the comfortable bed and veiws from our window. Breakfast was superb.
Could have done with a second sausage.
The Burgoyne occupies a fabulous position looking over the green at Reeth. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable; the en-suite was very large with a good bath.
Two things: you need to like chintz! Second, the shower unit didn't reflect the space and luxury feel of the bedroom and en-suite.
Decor and beds
The code to the door was difficult
Great super friendly staff!
breakfast only available until 9:30 on Easter Sunday
Exceptional room (stopped in the apartment). Beautiful building in a perfect location. Breakfast was generous with lots of options. Dinner at the hotel was also delicious.
Nothing. Would recommend and stay again.
Everything! Location, decor, staff, breakfast…all fabulous!

Spiders in our room cob webs on the ceiling and light fittings. I appreciate the ceiling is high.
Fabulous location on the green, with internal finishing to match
