The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the whole atmosphere of the place was amazing. The food and drink was great too and all served at a decent price.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when my friend had issues with her phone. Dinner, breakfast and the packed lunch were all excellent.

It was a long walk up a hill to the Bunkhouse. Because it was a wet day the drying room was too small (and damp) to cope with the number of items walkers had put in there. We hadn't expected to have to walk outside, past a small graveyard, and over cobbled stones to the shower block (which could have been a tad cleaner. Also we didn't realize we had to provide our own shower gel and towels

The hostel was very clean and comfortable, and I’ve stayed in many. Staff super nice and professional above and beyond. I arrived late and they regularly texted me to check if I was okay and my ETA, offered to hold some food back for me as kitchen closing. Also lent me pain killers for sore limbs. Kitchen was very good, food cook from scratch and as good as an Edinburgh restaurant ver pleasant surprise. If you’re happy sharing a room, or camping this is miles better than the hotel down the road and cheaper

J'ai adoré le logement dans une ancienne église, la déco est vraiment sympa. Le personnel du restaurant est très à l'écoute et fait l'effort de parler doucement quand on a du mal à parler anglais. Les repas et le petit déj sont succulents. L'hôtel est au bout du bout de la route c'est hyper calme

Etwas abseits vom West Highland Way gelegen, aber dafür ist es eine originelle Unterkunft in einer ehemaligen Kirche. Sehr nettes Team, das einen Abholservice vom Inversnaid Hotel anbietet. Abends wird ein leckeres Abendessen mit einer tollen Auswahl angeboten. Ebenso lecker ist das Frühstück. Ein Trockenraum für nasse Wanderklamotten ist auch vorhanden.

Drying room smelly and inadequate,packed full of dripping wet clothes. Invest in a small spin dryer from gumtree and halve the problem. Also the 3 stack bunk beds need new mattresses and are not suitable for anyone who isn’t flexible or is more than 180cm. For anyone reading this, there is NO HOT TUB! It seems to pop up somehow when googling the bunkhouse but it’s not been there for 6 years apparently!

Wir haben uns hier rundum wohlgefühlt. Das Personal war unglaublich herzlich, freundlich und hat uns sofort willkommen geheißen. Da das Bunkhouse etwas abseits des West Highland Ways liegt, wurden wir unkompliziert und nach einem kurzen Anruf mit dem Auto abgeholt – ein wirklich toller Service! Auch das Essen war sehr lecker, besonders das Frühstücksbuffet und das Lunchpaket. Unser privates Zimmer war zwar etwas klein, für eine Nacht aber vollkommen ausreichend. Die Lage ist traumhaft schön auf einem Hügel, und die Unterkunft in einer alten Kirche hat einen ganz besonderen Charme. Eine klare Empfehlung – vor allem wegen der tollen Atmosphäre und des unglaublich netten Personals!

Loved this place - basic comfortable bunk rooms but great atmosphere in the dining area/lounge upstairs. One of us got injured en route to the bunkhouse and they picked us up from the shoreline by car and took us down again the next morning and gave good advice - and packs of ice for her knee! Felt like we were really looked after in such a remote spot.

Todos os funcionários eram extremamente simpáticos, a comida foi a melhor da viagem. E como estávamos a fazer a West Highland Way tínhamos uns saquinhos com um lanche para levarmos para a caminhada que nos foi entregue ao pequeno almoço.

The building is amazing. The staff couldn’t make us feel any more welcome! The chef mark even drove down to the hotel to pick us up and then we got a lift back down the next day Also had a delicious dinner and they made a lunch pack for us for the next day’s walk!

Stayed here while walking the West Highland Way worth the short detour. We stayed in a private room with bathroom shared with one other room. Nice clean room comfortable bed. We had a lovely dinner and breakfast. Will was very friendly and even put his cat outside when I said I was allergic. Stay and food prices comparative to everywhere else we stayed on the way.

Abbiamo trascorso la nostra prima notte in Scozia qui. La strada per raggiungere la struttura è complessa per chi non è abituato alle strade scozzesi come noi, ma la natura e il paesaggio ripagano. La struttura è giusta per persone che sanno adattarsi, amanti della natura. Procuratevi lo spray anti midges perché quando è umido ce ne sono molti. Ottimo il sacchetto con il pranzo da portare via che ci è stato proposto per poche sterline. La torta che c'era dentro come dessert era fantastica. Il gestore simpaticissimo e accogliente.

We stayed in a private room but slept in bunk beds. That wasn't a problem—the beds were comfortable, and the linens were nice. The food was delicious, with carefully selected ingredients. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The drying room was very helpful. The bathroom is shared but very nice and clean.

I can't say anything about the lodging, but what I can mention in this section for those walking the West Highland Way is that there is an uphill stretch on the road from where the stage ends to the lodge.

I actually liked ordering a real meal (it's a licensed restaurant as well as a hostel) although if I were counting pennies I would have been disappointed to not have a communal kitchen. But the food was very good, especially the apple crumble for dessert! The room was small but comfortable altho it was cold when we arrived & the heater didn't seem to be functioning. I asked staff for another blanket but instead they got the heater going ... Good drying room which I really appreciated because it had been a wet day of hiking! Also really appreciated the ride up that hill to the hostel! The location is great -- ferry calls at the hotel at bottom of hill!

warning: the doors are narrower than standard-size doors and caught my toes and thumbs sometimes when I was opening and shutting them!

Exactly as described, cheap, cheerful and comfortable bunks. The restaurant upstairs is absolutely great. What sets this place apart is the staff. Ultra friendly, ultra helpful - a brilliant stop over.

To have some more "coffee- options" in the morning would be nice. So I don't like normal coffee, I missed my Cappuccino ;-)

Room was brilliant. Place was so cool all the staff were class. One of our favourite stays doing the west highland way. The two guys were fantastic and really made the place special

Only suggestion would be midgey covers over the windows so can keep windows open n midgeys out.

Location, setting and building are very special. Perfect bike packing stop. Bar and restaurant are a lovely setting and food was superb. Showers and toilet facilities v clean. Bike storage and dry room for when you get wet.

Bunks and rooms in main building are a little squeezy. Septic tanks a bit on the nose.

The overall feeling of the bunkhouse, including the restaurant is friendly and comfortable. The bed was soft for our taste but could have been comfortable for someone else. The place definitely has a hostel feeling - it's not luxury but it had everything we needed after a long day of walking. The shuttle from the trail was unexpected and very much appreciated.

Eten, ontbijt en avondeten, perfect, innovatief en heel verzorgd. Heel lekker.

Ik weet niet of het aan mijn gebrek aan ervaring met 'bunkhouses' ligt, maar de kamer was toch wel heel klein met 3 bunks erin. In de kamer hoorde ja alles vanop de gang en het gemeenschappelijk wc. Niet de modernste kamer ook. Was zeker aanvaardbaar, maar prijs/kwaliteit (80 euro) vond ik toch wat aan de hoge kant.

First off—the food here is INCREDIBLE. Like, easily the best food we had hiking the West Highland Way. When we arrived for check in, we could see the chef in the back making everything from scratch and working with clearly fresh produce and ingredients. Even if we didn't stay at the bunkhouse on future trips, we would do everything to secure at least one meal here. LOVED the sense of community at this stay. It has a very hippie/commune vibe (the showers are just past the historic graveyard, and there are gardens and yurts and bohemian decor all over), but it was also impeccably clean and the food alone made the experience feel lux as opposed to "roughing it." The rooms are great—we appreciated the fans in each room, which cooled the space so much better than most other places we stayed during the Scottish heat wave. The bunk beds are tight, but clean and cozy. The shared bathrooms are not bad at all—they were clean and cute and the other people staying at the bunkhouse were kind and respectful and everyone cleaned up after themselves. I appreciated the separate room for drinking water and filling water bottles (rather than using the handwashing taps). The ambience of this place is so unique and fun. I really appreciated how they kept the historic architecture and stained glass of the original church, and they provide a lot of plaques and information about the history of the building and land and how they transformed it into a bunkhouse. It's very thoughtfully and respectfully executed. The vibes are so COOL. I would have been intimidated by the coolness of these vibes were the staff not so completely warm and inviting and thoughtful.

Make sure to bring your own soap, shampoo, shower sandals, and towel for the walk to the showers. This probably will seem obvious for most people staying at hostels, but my spouse and I admittedly came unprepared. We managed, though!

Great restaurant, cool place in a remodelled church. Rooms are very small.

The staff were really nice and picked us up by the falls so we didn’t have to hike the road up. The stained glass windows from the church lit up as a wall were such a cool decor element. The cool electronic soundtrack set a relaxed vibe in the main room. The chef was amazing!

We got a triple bunk room and the bottom bunk was pretty clostrophobic.

Staff especially Will was very welcoming and friendly. The bunkhouse was well equipped for an overnight stay. Our room was triple bunk bed for family of 3 with a fan, bench and mirror. It was in the main chapel along the corridor there are 5 others rooms with twin, family, single room setup and 3 toilets cubicle at the end of corridor for guests to share and use. Outside the main house there is a shower block. On its ground there are glamping pods, our friends and her family stayed in the apartment down a few steps from the main house and it consisted of 2 double bedrooms with a shared en-suite shower/toilet. It’s like a self contained apartment with kettle, fridge for them to use. We had our evening meal on the night we arrive and the food was amazing… beetroot smoked salmon and mouse starter, smoked pulled pork burger, Korean chicken with rice and venison stew. Superb food and a good selection of drinks.

Our bedroom is underneath the bistro/lounge area as is floorboard we can hear when people are using upstairs. But it was quiet through the night once the bistro closed at 10pm.

Na miejscu można skorzystać z restauracji (bardzo dobre jedzenie) oraz pakowanych lunchy (za dodatkową opłatą). Miejsce z fajnym klimatem, położone blisko szlaku WHW.

Food was overpriced and not the best. Got a pulled pork burger and lots of juice come out when taking a bite it made a puddle on my plate. For the price that was charged I expected better.

We werden onthaald door erg vriendelijke mensen. De slaapkamers, douches en toiletten waren goed uitgerust, werkten goed en waren erg proper. Heel leuk om te eten; lekker en verzorgd, met leuke muziek als achtergrond. Wat een leuk verblijf!

Het was even bergop wandelen (30min, asfaltbaan in de zon) weg van de WHW route. Pas achteraf hadden we door dat er een een free shuttle service bestond.

The food was exceptional. Best food in our stay in Scotland. Staff were all lovely and helpful and the showers were nice.

The beds were very uncomfortable and the bunk beds were so packed you couldn’t sit up and two of us banged our heads. I don’t like the unisex toilets neither my son or daughter liked sharing with the other sex for toilets.

The dinner we had here was the best meal of all along The West Highland Way. I had the venison pie and it was so delicious!

This was my second time staying and I was once again not disappointed. The staff clearly enjoy the job as they treat it as a profession. The chef works magic in a small tucked away area. Bathroom to bedroom clean and comfortable. Packed lunch best on the trail.

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The food was all excellent and breakfast offered an excellent variety of cereals, yogurts, muffins, bagels and spreads. We were able to purchase a packed lunch for our day of hiking which was perfect. The staff were all very welcoming.

My favourite stay of the west highland way! Loved the rooms with comfortable beds, which had everything you need. And the ‘church’ area is so pretty and cozy. It was very community driven and made me connect with other hikers which was great! The meals were also fantastic as well as the staff!

the property is on top of a hill that is out of WHW. they wrote that they can pick us from the ferry location, which was highly appreciated considering the very difficult segment just before Inversnaid. The property if lovely, very nice organized and maintained, Will was a great host and the atmosphere was fantastic. The rooms, however, are not that large and bed was totally not comfy. Completely unexpected for such a remote location, the food was also very good

Breakfast was quite limited and it is just before the most technical part of WHW. we needed more protein for breakfast and there were no eggs, but only continental breakfast. Room was very small and bed also small and not comfy at all

The location is stunning, the Bistro food was spot on, the facilities were great. The staff were very friendly and helpful, it's an ideal stop for bikers and hikers. It has a drying room which is great. The rooms are small and compact, but very comfortable and clean.

We have one negative. Breakfast is a "Continental Buffet", however, it had no sliced meats or cheeses. Don't get me wrong, the selection of bread and bagels for toast, yoghurts, and cereals was vast, but in my opinion was very expensive at £12 a head each day.

Lovely spot with a friendly welcome

Really handy for the WHW with free 5 min transfer from the Inversnaid hotel. This made it ideal for us to finish the days walking, have a pint in the hotel then get a lift to the bunkhouse. The 2 person rooms were small but adequate, clean and ideal for our needs.

The shower block is outside which might be an issue for some but not us. Once in the shower block it is very big and really good.
