Le Manoir de Crépon

Wonderful house so much history the owner was wonderful nothing was to much trouble and enjoyed breakfast in beautiful surroundings a delightful stay for two nights

The host was lovely. She spoke English very well. The breakfast was very nice as well. Fresh croissants, baguette, cheese yogurt and fresh fruit. The room was comfortable but be prepared to carry your bags up stairs.

The Lady of the House is so nice and wonderful. She prepares delicious breakfast. It was so nice to talk with her and stay in her lovely and quaint manoir. We highly recommend it. We would go back anytime.

This is a good place to stay to be close to the Normandy invasion by the Allies in WW2. It is about 30 minutes to Omaha Beach. This is a beautiful, historic home/manor dating back to the 17th century. It became an inn 60 years ago. It was occupied by the enemy in WW2 for 4 years until it was liberated by the Allies in 1944. The owner/hostess has run this for 30 years. This inn is full of beautiful art and antiques. You are staying in her home/inn. She is an incredibly gracious host.

This property was stunning and historical. The owner was a treasure

very friendly and service minded host. Breakfast is good. Nice big gardens, plenty of space to park cars and bikes.

A perfectly wonderful place to stay - peaceful, beautiful and lovingly maintained, from the gardens to interior decorating with period pieces. This house is magical. AnnMarie goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, from homemade jams to fresh bread and cheeses for breakfast to assisting with local reservations. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed, and if ever in France again, this is where we will return.

Anne Marie was a great host with a lovely breakfast each morning. Lots of help also from Anne Marie of local attractions and places to eat.

You return to the 18th century, but with electricity and a hot shower

This property is exactly as advertised. It was really interesting. Staying in a property while visiting the Normandy Beach area that had been occupied by Germans for two years prior to the invasion made the experience special. For the price it’s a really good deal. When we were there, the temperatures were mild, but I did not notice air conditioning or heat for this very old building. I would inquire before staying there in the summer or winter months. Internet was also intermittent or nonexistent in some of the rooms as we saw one guest sitting in hallway to use their computer. The breakfast while good, largely consisted of local bread cheese, and fruit. While this is not a modern hotel, for us, it was a pleasurable experience overall.

This is a beautiful manor with lovely furnishings. Breakfast with the other guests was fun. Marie was very gracious and helpful. A great stay.

Our stay here was wonderful. The room was large & comfortable. Nice size bathroom. The house was elegant, well maintained. We enjoyed visiting with other guest at breakfast. Ann Marie served fresh fruit and home made jelly, tasted great on croissants. Ann Marie was a delightful host who made us feel welcome.

We absolutely loved our stay here! Anne Marie, the owner, was wonderful and made us feel so welcome. The house has so much character. Room was very spacious and bed was comfortable. We had a really lovely breakfast - bread, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, cheese etc. Location is good for visiting the Normandy beaches and also places like Bayeux. Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We had a most enjoyable stay at Le Manoir de Crepon. The property was constructed in the 18th Century and has been refurbished and still contains many of the original featured. Our room was quiet and comfortable. We had a Continental Breakfast which was a good start to the day. The host was very friendly and helpful and recommended some lovely Restaurants for our evening meal.

Many thanks for an excellent stay, great location for exploring the Normandy cost and lots of history in the house and the village as well as for day-trips.

Great place and very charming owner

Very peaceful and quaint location for visiting all the Sadat beaches. Mme Poisson is a delightful host and the breakfast was a real treat each morning. Would absolutely stay here again!

Madame Poisson is a charming hostess. Traveling alone, I felt safe and well cared for. The rooms are spacious and decorated with Madame's 50+ years of antique collecting. The small town is silent at night, which I also appreciated. My bathroom needed a deep cleaning, however. Mildew in the shower and stains in the toilet. Shower pressure is low, but that is too be expected in a house of that age. Hot water was challenging at times, but I think I was competing with Madame's dishwasher in the morning after breakfast. Have a late shower and the water will be very hot. The mattress was too firm for me, but that is no reflection on its quality - only my personal preference. Breakfast is simple with yogurt, cheeses, jams Madame makes, fruit, cereal, etc. with fresh baguette and croissants. I would like to see her again before she retires from the B&B business.

A beautiful place to stay warm and friendly welcome would highly recommend

The property was very interesting. We had a large attractive bedroom. Madame Poison was the most helpful host. She went out of her way to give us information. The breakfast was delicious including a selection of home-made jams and marmalade. She made our dog very welcome and he was able to let off steam in extensive Gardens.

The very best possible place to stay in Normandy! The manoir is exquisite, old elegance with a fresh look. The grounds are large and well groomed. Madame Poisson, our hostess, is fabulous, and worth a stay there just to meet her. She was the mayor for 31 years, is so very bright and interesting and charming. The breakfasts she presents are delicious and plentiful, with homemade jams for the fresh breads. Our rooms were spacious and lovely, modern large bathroom. The manoir has a fascinating WWII history, which is available to read in a notebook in each room, along with maps and dining suggestions. Do not miss a stay here!

Fantastic stay. Wonderful host, beautiful surroundings and just a great place to stay.

This lovely old manor house near the Normandy D-Day beaches shares the history of the German occupation and Allied victory in a setting of French comfort. The hostess and proprietor provides personalized service, and wonderful breakfasts. There are few guest rooms, but our fellow guests were interesting, and as interested as we in this fine home.

Wonderful hostess. Great breakfast. Beautiful old building.

Manoir Crepon is utterly charming as is Madame Poisson, the owner/operator. The grounds are beautiful, and the location was perfect for visiting all the various war memorials. I would highly recommend.

Excellent spot exploring the local area. The British war memorial is only 2 miles away. Le Manoir is lovely. We have stayed before and booked to return. The breakfast is fresh and local. Home made jams and marmalade. A friendly welcome. Lots of history. A little treasure to enjoy. Quiet and relaxing

Mme Poisson is a wonderful woman. The rooms are all different, spacious and beautifully decorated. A throwback to a different time. Small gorgeous town. My favorite stay during over a month plus of travel.

It was such a shame after looking forward to our stay to find the room didn’t quite meet our expectations. We had booked for 2 nights but only stayed for 1. There needed to be a proper clean of the room. Spiders covered the mantelpiece and cobwebs were around the canopy. The bathroom shower sealant was mouldy and most of the furniture was unsuitable. On the plus side the lady owner was delightful. She helped me with my bags and was great about us moving to another town. I felt the drapes and bedcover and banquet were all beautifully done and made the room look lovely - it was on closer inspection that renovations and effort on the detail could be improved and make a big difference. Crepon is a lovely village and we had a great walk around with a very friendly welcome at the bar/tabac.

Such a lovely stay for 5 nights at this amazing place. Anne-Marie Poisson took good care of us. Lovely house, loveley village, lots of history. Higly rekommend this beutilful place to stay. Could not have a better stay. We also hade our dog with us. Ann-Catrine, Clas and the dog "Pepsi" /Sweden

We were travelling with our dog which was the main reason we chose this hotel, he was able to run freely in the self contained grounds. However were we to revisit the area without the dog we would still choose to stay here. The building is a wonderful old manor house with a rich and varied history. Anne-Marie, the land lady, is charming and her home made preserves at breakfast are superb. Some people may find the rooms a little dated but they are a good size and in keeping with the character of the house

Lovely owner and historic manoir.

Morgenmad, atmosfære og værten er topklasse.

Excellent

A must stay, period. You are visiting the Normandy area because of the invasion. This small French Village manor house, not in the immediate beach area was occupied pre-invasion by the Germans. With its antiques and a delightful older host, you get a full sense of what it must have been like living there in the 1940’s. Convenient to all of the beaches by car, a wonderful little antique shop on the grounds, the most memorable stay of our month long slow travel in France. Don’t do a group travel if you can rent a car, you can find a guide for a day. A powerful experience.

Magnifique demeure, accueil excellent, calme

It was amazing, like stepping back in time to the 17th century with all of the elegance and décor Of that period.! Much of the house was as it was 300 yrs ago and what it lacked in modern conveniences, it made up for in grace and beauty! Madame Poisson was such a gracious host - tending to every need, preparing a wonderful breakfast on our time schedule with the delicious jams you probably already heard of, and the fresh bread and croissants that she picked up every morning for us. She was funny, engaging, helpful, and so patient with our bad attempts at French! We came to Normandy to learn more about D-Day and the days that followed. We did that, and we also experienced the gracious hospitality of the French people like Madame Poisson! Although we probably will not get a chance to come this way again, we would highly recommend Le Manoir du Crepon to anyone who wants to get away from the crowds of Paris and experience the peaceful, historic French countryside! Thank you, Ann Marie, for making our vacation such a wonderful experience!

Good

A wonderful stay with Madame Poisson as a wonderful host.

Very historic and characterful property. Warm and friendly host. Excellent continental breakfast. Great location as a base for Normandy beeches. Really enjoyed our stay.

We loved this beautiful and special place with its charm and excellent location in the beautiful French coutryside. Our hostess was such a kind lady and our stay was just relaxing in the historical surroundings. Loved it.

I enjoyed learning about the history of the building. Breakfast was really great. The location is perfect for walking around the, village.

A refaire !

Very unique and historical property with a warm welcome

The hotel with only four rooms was once a 17th century manor house. It is therefore very old with loads of character and antique furniture and items throughout the house and bedroom. Both the bedroom and the bathroom could do with a bit of TLC. Madame Poisson is a lovely person who certainly spoils her guests - even climbing into the cherry tree to provide her guests fresh cherries with their breakfast. Highly recommended.

Le manoir and Mme Poisson were unique in that it is like a chateau, and Mme's attention to detail and knowledge of the area and genuine interest in sharing her knowledge was a pleasure. The breakfasts were out of this world. The croissants the best I have tasted in a long time. The choice of cheeses and fresh fruit impeccable along with the jams homemade of course! Situation central for beaches, memorials, Bayeux, Caen infact everything.

:We received a warm welcome, and excellent treatment at this lovely facility. The accommodation was comfortable and spacious, and breakfast was great. We really appreciated the proximity to the D-Day beaches. We would definitely recommend this place.

A beautiful 17th century chateau with lots of character! Huge lovely family room with enormous double bed that was so comfortable! Large, spotless bathroom with separate bath and shower. The adjoining room with twin beds for the boys was just as lovely. Beautiful views of the well kept gardens, we slept with the period windows wide open and listened to the Dawn chorus. Breakfast was your typical continental but was delicious nevertheless with fresh strawberries and homemade jams. The lady who owned this magnificent property was friendly and helpful. An overall enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

Room very dusty and cobwebs everywhere. Bathroom was better.

What an amazing place! This is a charming old manor- the rooms are very simple, but have everything you need. The owner, Madam Poisson, is very sweet and accommodating. I would love to stay here again.
