Everything fantastic stay
I loved everything
Excellent location right on the harbour. Comfortable and clean room with a great view over the harbour. We slept very well with no disturbances. Friendly and helpful staff. Quirky and enjoyable character. Good restaurant.
No dedicated parking so you have to be lucky to find a place nearby the hotel. We were out of peak season so it was not too bad.
Location was perfect. Close to the small harbour and lighthouse. Street parking wasn't a problem, we always managed to find a space near the hotel. Fabulous evening menu, including GF options, which we made good use of and a great breakfast.
Nothing
Food overall was good but breakfast menu didn't include fruit options and there was a big emphasis on fried food with big portions.
While the guest house had some very nice bedrooms our room was up two flights of stairs (no lift) and was small and basic.
Exceptional Position on the seafront
Stairs to rooms are steep
Nice location.
No lift to bedrooms, too many steep stairs and we were not told this at time of booking. Breakfast staff really not very efficient. I wouldn't stay again
Breakfast was great, very comfy bed, view fantastic
As always this wee place never lets us down the location the rooms the food and the staff always very polite and accommodating especially the lady who cleans the rooms always accommodating and super friendly always makes sure we have everything we need we will always come back here its a home away from home its class thanks a mill guys.
Nathin at all just that our time went too fast. We love this wee place cant wait till next time.
The room was lovely but sadly the noise from the people in the room above made for poor sleep. I thought they were going to come through the ceiling and I know this is not fault of staff I think the acoustics should be kept in mind for people in room below. Other than that staff great and breakfast excellent!!!
Noise from people above.
I liked everything about pier 36
I can't say I didn't like anything as I loved everything and would highly recommend it
The staff were very helpful and our room was upgraded
Nothing
The views and the location.
The shower head was broken. It was sliding down.
The location was great and a lovely cosy bar. Room was clean. Friendly staff and manager
Bedroom was tiny and needing updated. Found service to be a bit slow for food.
Clean, good location, clean room, comfortable bed
The views from room and food and staff were great
So many stairs
We stayed in the guest house, tucked behind pier 36 the other side of the car park. It was a wonderfully comfortable, clean and cosy house with everything you needed and more. It was great having our own space but also a 2 min walk to the restaurant and bar if wanted. Clean, modern but also felt traditional and so well kitted out Perfect base for exploring and only 40 mins from Belfast. Also a lovely but strange little bay up the road called Portavogie where tons of scallop shells are embedded and scattered around
Honestly, everything was good. Even though it’s close to the small recycling centre there was no noise or car problems and the windows are well insulated so no noise at all! Even the distillery next door didn’t cause any noise issues.
Very friendly atmosphere and staff extremely helpful
All very good
Brilliant location, lovely food and wonderfully friendly staff. Perfect mini-moon
Nothing
Location. Bar area and good food. Comfortable bed. Excellent friendly staff. Thankyou to Lois and Alex
Nothing. All good
Very well placed by the harbour
We had a three level property with the bathroom a couple of flights below the bedroom. A bit of a walk in the middle of the night
Superb staff, great food
N/A
Lovely property with beautiful harbour views. Staff excellent and food was beautiful!
The room was beautiful, large bright and what a view. Complimentary water in the fridge, coffee machine and also a kettle to make tea or coffee.
Nothing
Friendly staff clean, good food,
The food was simple but tasty.
The room looked nothing like the images on Booking.com. It was shabby and dated. Paint was peeling off the window surround. The hallway carpet was old and dirty. The view was really poor looking over a rooftop with a broken stool and rubbish. The bathroom furnishings were old and dated. There was mould and dirt along the back of the sink and shower. The mirror was chipped on both sides. We sat at the bar and there were discarded glasses, packaging and food lying on the bar - they were not cleared away. Staff seemed hassled even though the bar was quiet. The staff cleared the bar and put chairs on the tables while we were still in the bar.
It’s truly a cozy place and, of course, one of the locations for “Hope Street”.
You couldn't wish to meet better staff - kind, friendly and so welcoming!
Absolutely nothing!
Staff were very good, good location.
Room was small & bed was uncomfortable. Birds outside of room noisy regularly during the night.
Oh wow, where to I begin this is such a little hidden gem. From the moment we arrived the property was so clean, the owners had thought of everything. The decor is so lovely and the kitchen, lounge area is so modern. The sofa 🛋️ is soooo comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with all the toiletries you would even need. We had brought our own but they supplied so much. The beds were so comfortable. We are definitely going to book again. The food was lovely in Pier 36, Sunday carvery was on point and I loved how they catered for my diabetic needs listening when platting up my food. The lady was so kind, Friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem for them and when we checked out the kept our luggage for us as we wanted to make the day out of the town and the good weather, which meant we didn’t have to carry everything around with us. Thank you so much for an amazing break away. Gemma and Family
The only thing we didn’t like, was that we were not staying longer ! We all could have taken a couple more days. Next time we will book for longer 😊.
Great location
A bit tired needed a few details tidied up
Superb location. Friendly and efficient staff. Great breakfast choices - including the rare "kippers"! Busy bar and restaurant but good food at good prices.
The only disppointment was our very small room and I thought it was going to be sea facing..so thought it expensive for what it was. However it had all the necessary, tea and coffee, comfrotable bed.
Clean and very homely
Nothing
Hope street in het echt! Heerlijk gegeten in het restaurant
Dat Nicole er niet was 😉
The location is great, right on the iconic Donaghadee harbour.
Room 5 with partial sea view from the back of the hotel and over many flat and pitched roofs, was very small, with approximately 45cm each side of the bed, (don’t bring a cat). However the en-suite. Is very nice and clean with adequate space. They were filming “Hope Street”(whatever that is) for two days of our three day stay, so we were excluded from the downstairs bar and restaurant area. We were only advised of this two days before arrival !!!!! This did spoil our enjoyment of the hotel and we had to go to a cafe in the town for our inclusive breakfast !! (Which in fairness was a good breakfast)
We had such a great time staying. Breakfast was fantastic, views were better and the staff were great! Hundred percent would recommend anyone to this location!!!
Atmosphere was superb. Staff are all great and very helpful Vuews from the room outstanding

Clean comfortable good value

Good location. Convenient free parking. Ideally placed for a weekend in the Dee.
Great in every way. This is also used as the set of the Commodore in the BBC series Hope Street
Nothing
Breakfast perfect staff lovely and location perfect
Lovely staff and good service, we did wait about 20 minutes on our bill but the restaurant was very busy so it's understandable. Best margarita cocktail I've ever had!
The bed was a little uncomfortable for us but that's personal preference. Very minor issue that wouldn't stop us returning.
Hyggelig betjening og flott rom. Komfortabel seng og god mat!
Veldig lytt fra trappeoppgangen. Våknet av folk som gikk midt på natten
Good dinner and breakfast. No complaints at all.
Nothing. Exceeded expectations.
The friendliest staff
Bathroom down the steps
We loved the location, the friendly people and service as well as the excellent food and pub downstairs. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with an excellent view. We had everything we needed. The staff were so friendly and happy to help us or give us tips or guidance where needed. We loved the breakfasts that we had included in our room rate and had an excellent roast carvery! It was an easy drive into Belfast to explore as we had a rental car. Would highly recommend this accomodation!!!!
Nothing :)
Another tremendous stay at pier 36, and hopefully be back again very soon.
There is nothing to dislike about this property
Great place to stay
Everything
Mycket trevligt boende.
Fantastic room very comfortable. Friendly staff. Great food and great value.
Breakfast was ok
Bedroom and bathroom 2 floors apart
Location was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice with lots of choice. Room was a great size, with a lovely view. Bed was very comfy and snug. Standard of cleanliness was excellent. Liked the use of the fridge in the room including the water and tea and coffee facilities. We will return.
Nothing to dislike
Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and very convenient location
Would have preferred a lift to the bedrooms but realise this would not be practicable for the layout of the premises.
Very comfortable, quiet and clean, restaurant right downstairs. Water pressure was great, the bed was comfortable, location was perfect, and best of all the hotel management and staff were great!
Stairs may be a challenge for those with limited mobility
STAFF AND CLEANLINESS WERE VERY GOOD
THE BED WAS SO HARD NEITHER MY WIFE OR I WERE ABLE TO SLEEP. I WAS SITTING IN A CHAIR AT 1.45 AM.
Location was fantastic. Really nice atmosphere.
Parking was difficult.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, the food was good ,the general cleanliness, bed was comfy and a good shower in the room
The room was a bit small for a double making the space quite narrow on one side of the bed
Kippers we're outstanding
There wasn't anything I didn't like
Trevlig personal och en härlig miljö kombination av god mat
Inget
We fell in love with the charm and character. It is perfectly located and the restaurant has really good food and staff.
The location was great.
The stairs were hard with luggage.
Great accommodation with beautiful views & a very good breakfast menu. Really enjoy our short stay.
I loved the food it was so beautiful the staff were the nicest i have ever stayed and would bend over backwards to help from first minute we came they made us so welcome and the room was so clean and bed was so comfterble
I loved everything therr was nothing bad
Comfortable, close to the sea, close to restaurants
The faucet in the bathroom was loose and the toilet seat was broken.
Warm welcome, great location and great food
The property was lovely. They “upgraded” us to a nice front room and we had excellent views of the water.
Staff excellent
Nothing
Our room was great
Stayed longer
Nice pub, great breaky
Room was a bit dated, bathroom was nice and modern though
Clean rooms, friendly staff and lovely location
Lots of stairs to room.Hard to open outside door when returning. Got back hlf 12 on Friday and bar was closed.
Very clean. Very comfortable beds. Very central for access to lovely pubs, restaurants, coffee shops. So close to the sea front and playground. Very cosy with stove. Perfect.
View Central
No toiletpaper lol just a normal human error It was perfect
Breakfast and dinner were delicious and plentiful, with a good choice of options. The location is optimal with rooms overlooking the gorgeous harbour and sweep of the shoreline. Ample parking is available off road. Close to local amenities and shops. Ideal for exploring the beautiful Ards Peninsula, Strangford Lough and the city of Bangor. Rooms are cosy and compact with en suite facilities.I stayed here 13 years ago and specifically chose to stay at Pier 36 again. It made a delightfully gentle contrast to the couple of wild nights we spent in Belfast, although we were not there to enjoy Pier 36 over a weekend!
The stairs were a bit of an effort for my old knees, but the climb to a cosy room and a soft bed was worth it. I appreciate the difficulty of installing a lift in an old building.
Breakfast was lovely, enjoyed it by the roaring fire.
We arrived and there was an issue with the heating in our room. The Manager and staff did all they could to offer us upgraded accommodation which was a self catering house which was great. They also gave us a complementary drink for our trouble though we did not see it as such. Great team, great welcome and overall great customer service
nothing
Staff make this place. Owners should be really proud of their staff. Excellent food.
Perfect location for what we needed. Room was clean
The room was cold. We put the heating on then left the room. Awkward to get room door locked. We went to a family party and returned around 3 a.m. Couldn't get the outside door open. Persevered and eventually got ot opened. Got into our room and it was freezing. Had to sleep in our clothes. Woke up next morning and room was roasting as the heating had obviously been turned off downstairs then back on in the morning!! Not much good when we were leaving the room at 11. Breakfast wasn't as good as usual, service wasn't great and we had to ask a few times for forgotten items. Overall, not as good a stay as we have had previously
Location overlooking the harbour was fantastic. Room was great and bed very comfy. Breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.
No toilet paper in the ensuite. Dodgy floor outside bedroom 3 door felt like a floorboard or joist was giving way.
The whole experience was excellent. The location, the staff, the food and the accommodation. We had a great couple of days.
Nothing at all.
Location facilities and friendly staff
Great location friendly staff beautiful surroundings
Nothing we love it here
Great location, friendly and helpful staff - wonderful breakfast
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Lovely meals.
Staff was friendly. Breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed the stay. We definitely will be back.
The convenient location.
The room was very small
An amazing place. From the staff, to the rooms, to the pub and restaurant. Everything was exacuted flawlessly. I can not recommend this more highly.
Perfect location, excellent breakfasts, helpful staff
