The property is old and looks impressive.

Most of the property looked tired and outdated. I appreciate you wouldn’t want to modernise such a beautiful building too much , however some modernisation is necessary to keep up with the needs of the guests.

Hôtel de charme, très bien situé, nous sommes arrivés en vélo (emplacement sécurisé pour les laisser le temps du séjour), le personnel a été très accueillant Superbe piscine ! Nous reviendrons avec plaisir si l'occasion se présente.

Breakfast was very good. The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent and well-priced, including a wonderful vegetarian dish. The room was comfortable with efficient ducted and silent air-conditioning (you cannot adjust the air conditioning but it is set at an appropriate temperature). The exterior of the hotel is very attractive and traditional and it is located in the centre of Montignac but sheltered from noise sources. The interior is also traditional and charming with a number of comfortable communal sitting areas on all levels. The garden and swimming pool are very pleasant (the pool is not large enough to do lengths but perfect for a relaxing swim). The lift is particularly cool. Staff were helpful and friendly and generally spoke good English.

Fixtures, fittings and decorations appear to span a number of decades, with a resulting mix of styles, and some are faded. We didn't mind this at all as the mix spoke of a continuity of history and everything was well-maintained and in good working order. However, some reviewers care about this kind of thing.

Le bâtiment historique est incroyable. Le parc est très beau agrémenté d'arbres splendides, la piscine est très jolie et à bonne température. La terrasse couverte est très agréable. On se sent vraiment bien dans un cadre magnifique. L'emplacement est idéal : en bord de Vézère et près du centre ville sans en subir les inconvénients. Les repas sont de grandes qualités, nous nous sommes régalées ! L'équipe est adorable et sympathique. J'y retournerai avec un immense plaisir tant à l'hôtel que pour le restaurant.

La décoration n'est pas toujours en adéquation avec l'ensemble, c'est dommage, le bâtiment mériterait d'être mis bien plus en valeur. Gênée par la poussière (sur les moulures des portes par exemple) et au dessus de notre tête : toile d'araignée et araignées mortes en suspension. Les petits déjeuners ne sont pas à la hauteur des repas. Les chaises de la terrasse mériteraient des coussins (plus agréable pour les jambes en jupes en courtes !) Nous aurions apprécié avoir des propositions de boissons au bord de la piscine, plutôt qu'avoir à nous déplacer.

Leuk zwembad in een grote tuin . Gastheer en gastvrouw waren supervriendelijk We mochten eerder inchecken en mochten op de vertrekdag nog lekker bij het zwembad blijven liggen . We komen graag terug !

La chambre spacieuse et climatisée, la literie de qualité. La possibilité de se garer devant l'hôtel (sur la place ou le long de la Vezere). La piscine très agréable et l'espace vert qui l'entoure ombragé, idéal pour s'allonger sur les transats. Enfin, un petit déjeuner de type buffet de qualité avec une grande variété de produits sucrés et salés, en accord avec les autres prestations de l'hôtel.

It’s located in the middle of the town, by the river.

It’s quite dated, the floor is on an angle, rooms are small and due to old linen and accessories the room doesn’t have the cleanest feel to it. The interior has not reviewed any renovation. The breakfast is also below average for the amount they are charging.

Sehr idyllisch gelegene Unterkunft mitten im Ort und direkt am Fluss. Wunderschöner Rosengarten und Pool. Das Restaurant sehr empfehlenswert.

Die Zimmer sind relativ klein und einfach, aber absolut ausreichend für einen kurzen Aufenthalt.

Superbe parc arboré avec piscine table de ping-pong tout pour passer un excellent moment de détente. Maison de caractère Chambre spacieuse et grande salle de bain Excellente literie Très au calme malgré qu'on soit i proche de l'église.

Seul petit bémol qui concerne la salle de bain à savoir un léger manque d'aménagement : il faudrait un siège pour s'asseoir et un aménagement du grand meuble sous les lavabos pour poser les affaires de toilette

Beautiful old building in the centre of Montignac. Right on the river. Easy parking available. Great pool in a tranquil garden. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the best meal we had during our stay.

It was a lovely traditional hotel, the staff were very accommodating, and the garden was beautiful. I would definitely recommend.

La Roseraie Hôtel Restaurant is an extremely quaint establishment located a few metres away from the river in Montignac. For those arriving by car, which we were (a long across Europe work related road trip) there is an abundance of safe and free parking directly in front of the hotel or just along the river. This was a big bonus and one of the reasons I initially booked this accommodation. As with nearly everything in Montignac, this hotel is picturesquely quaint and "classic rural French". Everything creaks and there isn't a straight line in the whole building, but it's a wonderfully charming space with lovely guest rooms, a tea room, and, the big highlight is the garden and pool. The restaurant is also rated as a Michelin, which we were excited about, but unfortunately was shut the evening that we passed through. I'm sure breakfast would have been lovely but we opted to check out some of the local bakeries instead. Overall the value for money is quite good and it is within walking distance of everything in town. If you're passing through on a quick trip to see the Lascaux Caves (like we were) or staying a few days, it's a good option worth checking out.

As with so many experiences, it's the people that can make or break the impression one has of a place. I enjoyed my time at La Roseraie, and the afternoon I spent lounging in the garden by the pool will remain as a positive memory for some time to come. However the following morning (which was also the day we were set to leave) we came downstairs to once again enjoy the garden. As the rooms are small and it was right in the middle of a heat wave we had hoped to do some morning yoga by the pool. The time was 7.30, so not an outrageously early hour. When we knocked at the door at reception to ask if we could access the pool we were met by a rather grumpy women who spoke no English, said it was not possible and shut the door in our faces. It's not the end of the world, but unfortunately it just left a bad taste in our mouths. A pity considering that up until that point we had really enjoyed our stay.

Very warm welcome, excellent situation. A beautiful house with a wondeful garden and riverside setting. The air conditioned rooms during the heatwave a blessing.

The location and the welcome from the staff and owners. The restaurant was exceptional and the gardens very impressive.

The suite we had was well located and spotlessly clean bu5 the toilet was accessed from the kitchen area and the toilet door did no5 close properly.

Lovely hotel with a beautiful garden right by the river.

Situé au bord de la Vézère dans un endroit calme de Montignac, à 5mn en voiture de Lascaux 4. Bénéficie en outre d'un bon restaurant. Personnel convivial et fort sympathique. Facile de se garer : parking public et gratuit.

Une pointe de chauffage dans les chambres quand l'après saints de glace laisse des traces serait un plus. Hormis ce point de détail, tout s'est bien passé.

Beautiful romantic well-kept old house. We parked in the square outside. High quality of food and service. Beautiful rooms clean and tastefully furnished in a period style. Very nice old village and close to the caves. We can highly recommend this wonderful little hotel

A lovely country hotel with lots of charm. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food in the restaurant was excellent and we dined in twice for our 4 night stay. A great location for exploring the area and only 5 minutes from the Lascaux IV visitor centre.

The place is beautiful and well kept, it has a lovely riverside spot with a quaint garden that is perfect in the evenings. The restaurant is well worth a visit and local dishes are recommended. We are already planning to return.

Wir hatten ein kleines Zimmer gebucht, das sehr charmant eingerichtet war, das Bett war super. Besonders gefreut hat uns der parkähnliche Garten mit einem tollen Swimmingpool, den wir gleich nach unserer Ankunft genossen haben. Das anschließende Abendessen auf der Terasse des Hotelrestaurants war vorzüglich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

The location is excellent - much nicer than the other side of the river. The hotel is charming and comfortable, though a bit overstuffed with knickknacks. The garden is lovely. Breakfast nice but a bit high at 16 Euro.

Rustig gelegen en toch dicht bij stadskern en loopafstand tot de grot van Lascaux. Er is een overkapping in de tuin waar we onze fietsen konden parkeren. Daar was ook een mogelijkheid om een elektrische fiets op te laden.

The location of this hotel is great. The room and bathroom seemed clean and the linen was fresh.

The hotel room was expensive for what it was - it should be a quaint place but somehow misses the mark. Bed reasonably comfy, pillows hard and a bit lumpy. Few amenities, only soap and 2 small bottles of water, not replaced on the second day. Breakfast was a sorry and limited buffet, also too expensive.

Se vi piacciono le dimore antiche piene di fascino, scegliete questo hotel. Non è adatto a chi cerca il nuovo, la combo acciaio e vetro. È una splendida dimora del 1800, che regala un'atmosfera unica. Vicino al fiume, con un giardino curato e un posteggio pubblico gratuito adiacente. Passare una notte qui è qualcosa di diverso, che regala un'emozione. Il gestore con noi è stato gentilissimo. Anche la cena è stata ottima e la colazione è la migliore che abbiamo fatto in 12 giorni di tour.

Ci è piaciuto tutto, anche lo scricchiolio del legno delle scale e del pavimento della camera, fa tutto parte della storia di questa casa ed è esattamente quello che cercavamo.

The interior is amazing. The swimming pool and garden were clean, quiet and lovely. The location is great; next to the river and a lot of things to do in the surrounding area. The room was small but nice and clean. We had a lovely time here.

After the neighbors put their children to bed 10:30PM, the room was very quiet. The AC worked well in two of the three rooms I rented. The little real handsoaps were a nice touch. The location was perfect.

I have traveled all over France for 25 years and stayed in 2 star, 3 star and ultra luxury 5 star hotels. And a nice 'accueil' or welcome can make up for a multitude of problems. Saying 'If you have any questions or need any help with your stay'; or just 'Welcome to Montignac and to my hotel' goes a long way. Nothing effusive or long winded just a smile and a gesture of good will. A good hoteler knows exactly what to say and how to act. This was the most glacial and unwelcome 'accueil' I have experienced. We arrived at 6PM not late, not early, and didn't ask for anything except the keys. But this reception was downright unpleasant. Maybe the hotel clerk or owner was very ill or extremely tired. So every detail we didn't like loomed larger which might have been otherwise overlooked. The AC did not function well in one of the three rooms I reserved. That happens. The other rooms were fine. The toilet was in a very old condition which is not what I would expect even in a 2 star. Pillows lumpy. I could go on but won't. Most of this is understandable and acceptable. But I paid about $170 per room for one night. My review says stay there and you will probably be fine, The location is perfect. The rooms are quiet. Ignore the hoteler, the price and the details of the room..
