Very nice position overlooking the river, in the town but at same time tranquil. We were upgraded to a junior suite (which was really a slightly larger bedroom) with a very nice balcony overlooking the river and that was a nice size and comfortable. The breakfast was copious and with plenty of choice.
The reception staff were keener on explaining all the rules and what everything cost than welcoming us.
Excellent place, very beautiful room, friendly personnel, very well organised the order of the breakfast! We needed late checkout, and the hotel easily offered us a very fair price for additional hours-excellent!
The breakfast room for so many people is very tiny, that I hardly could move a chair to stand up. I believe the breakfast time should be somehow broken down between the guests. Otherwise, everybody waits and everybody feels squeezed. Our table was so little that the food ladies were bringing could not fit it. We would be happy to sit down at the other bigger table, but they were all busy. The breakfast is very nice, hot dishes, pies, yoghurt ,eggs-just excellent!
Such a lovely place . Clean pleasant, and the cutest location.
The personnel were very nice.
This hotel is one of several repurposed Jewish mansions in the historic Jewish quarter. It’s a fantastic location and the river and synagogue beside it are amazing. The community saved the buildings, although the town did destroy the centuries old graveyard, destroying most of the gravestones and putting a children’s park on top of their graves… A total of 460 Jews from Veria were captured and deported. They were first transported to the transit camp in neighboring Thessaloniki and then loaded onto cattle cars bound for Poland. Extermination: Of the 460 deported Veria Jews, 448 were murdered immediately upon arrival or perished under the brutal conditions at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. Following the defeat of the Nazis, 123 of the Jewish escapees returned to Veria hoping to rebuild their lives. However, they arrived to find their homes occupied by newcomers, their properties plundered, and their possessions entirely gone. Disgusting history. May their memory be a blessing.
Many reviewers mention the mediocre breakfast and the staff seem to take offence instead of looking for ways to improve. I expect my review will garner the same, but it’s a red flag. My room was right beside the front desk. In 2 instances I had to ask two different staff members to lower their voices during my daily afternoon naps as their chatter woke me up. They were just having a personal conversation, and it stopped immediately but the walls are thin. Also the bathroom door wouldn’t close and it looked like it needed to be rehung. I mentioned it, but they didn’t get to it during our stay. Also there’s no kettle or coffee maker in the room we had.
- ganska central läge. - helt ok frukost - själva hotelket fint inrett

The hotel is in a restored old mansion in the former Jewish Quarter. It is next to the former synagogue, which is worth visiting - opening times are 12:00-15:00 but we got in at 10:30 by tailgating an organised tour (and paying for a ticket, of course). Google told us that it is a 17-minute walk to the old metropolitan basilica; but there's a shortcut through a tunnel under the house opposite which means it takes only 5 minutes! Our room was comfortable and large enough for one or two nights. Hi-tech breakfast ordering via Google docs.
Nett eingerichtetes Zimmer, gutes Frühstück, sehr freundliches Personal.
Super
All fine
It was challenging to reach by car
Great location, beautiful room
The coffee could be better
Very nice breakfast, cooked to order. It came with a selection of toast, omelet, nuts, cheeses, meats, lemon cake etc.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.

The location, in the old Jewish quarter, is excellent- but an absolute nightmare to find. Do your homework beforehand! Good buffet breakfast.
Room smaller than expected.

A charming property that provides you with a very comfortable stay at a family-run traditional hotel. The room was beautifully furnished and decorated, perfectly illustrating the history of that district. Everyone we spoke to was polite, welcoming and very accommodating. The breakfast was simple, but fresh and delicious and served in an elegant dining area. The neighbourhood itself is quiet and luscious, with only the sound of a distant waterfall. There are some excellent restaurants nearby too.
Nothing springs to mind. We had only a one night stay.
charming hotel in a nice position.
breakfast to be improved.
A very old house in the Jewich quarters of Verria, renovated with style and personal taste. The location is superb, the vibes of the small neighborhood are extreme.
The 5Euros charge for the parking in a 160Euros room was comical. The mail to pay the reservation directly to the hotel withinh the day, which arrived on a Sunday - this is a reason not to book again.
L’environnement et la décoration
La douche était un peu petite
Hotel molto accogliente e caratteristico, staff cordiale e gentile. Posizione tranquilla con affaccio sul fiume. Possibilità di parcheggiare proprio sotto l'hotel
Tutto benissimo
Amazing!!! The hotel itself is gorgeous and very clean. The room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. We would open the window at night just to hear the water running in the nearby river. The small historical neighbourhood is majestic and so peaceful. The staff at Kokkino Spiti went above and beyond. Very friendly, welcoming and professional. They treated us so well, they made sure we were comfortable and treated my 90 year old father with such kindness. The breakfast was great, we were treated to the local olives, jams, fresh bread and local yogurt and honey. We are definitely coming back!!!
Comfortable and close to monuments
Parking. From overseas, we struggled to get a space for our car in the narrow streets. The 10/10 thing to do would have been for someone to show us the way to park our car at or near to the hotel, but in the end we had to rely on nearby people to advise us and we ended up at a not-so-close public parking space.
The house is an architectural gem located in the old jewish quarter of Veria. After remaining unoccupied for decades it was acquired by its current owners and revived to its original splendor. This endeavor took a long time and a significant investment, but now guests can enjoy a unique boutique hotel. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, and relaying a feeling of home and cosiness. A pity we only spent one night there, but hope to return and also visit Veria, a town with a rich history. Being a family business, breakfast is also consisting of local fresh produce and home-made marmelades and cakes plus local honey. A big thank you to the owners.
The only problem with Kokkino Spiti is to find your way to the dedicated parking lot by car. We arrived at night during an unfolding summer tempest and the address on Waze takes you to the entrance dedicated when arriving on foot. Lookily one of the hosts came to rescue and drove with us to the parking lot, otherwise extremely complicated to find. Beware, reception desk closes at 22:00.
This hotel is a lovely old house with a charming green yard on a small square in the heart of the old town and a balcony above the river - really authentic atmosphere! Fully and carefully renovated for a perfect comfort. Very friendly and helpful staff. The best place to stay in Veria

The beauty of the building, the quietness of the area
The breakfast was rather limited, not up to the general quality of the place
Perfect location, pleasant staff, excellent room with a comfortable double bed.The building is nicely renovated, maintaining it's wonderful character.
Everything was top notch.
This is a lovely hotel situated in a very special location rich in history.
Gorgeous wood lined room with balcony over wooded river with mountains in the background. Charming old building beautifully restored. Parking a massive bonus. In the heart of the more picturesque part of Veria. Friendly, helpful team. Delicious breakfast. Exceptional walkable nearby restaurants.
Nothing comes to mind.
Location was in a fabulous setting. Upgraded on arrival to a junior suite. Decided to gave breakfast which was a good decision
A very quiet area with river sound; you know you are not in the city, but the town is just a short walk away.
This historic hotel is a gem. The room was terrific. The breakfast was very good. The hotel was close to the main part of the town. Parking was available near the hotel.
Nothing to dislike. The hotel is exceptional.
Beautiful boutique hotel with excellent design and very friendly staff. Very centrally located and quite spacious room. Would definitely return back!
Beautiful hotel, very well kept, in a charming area. Extremely nice and helpful staff.
Lovely property beautifully renovated
Location, Room Decoration.
The sound of the water, the brilliant fresh air, the cozy room and homemade breakfast! The place with history. Everything was perfect!
This family owned and run hotel is right next to the synagogue in the Jewish quarter, with a tunnel through the building across that takes you right into the center of town. It is on a dead end street, so no traffic noise. Frequent hotel signs made it easy to get to the hotel. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, one even drove us to dinner the night it rained. We had the balcony suite, which was very comfortable. Breakfast was good, but not as much variety as some others we've stayed in. We would definitely stay her again.
Nothing.
Characterful hotel in the old part of town with lovely views. Close to the lively town centre. Very helpful and friendly owner.
We love the breakfast available at the hotel, extremely friendly hotel personnel, very close to the downtown area.
Lovely place.
Great stay
What a lovely hotel! It's in a fabulous location, overlooking the river and right next to the old synagogue and, once you get your bearings, a great location for seeing all the best parts of old Veria. I loved the recessed windows in my room - you could leave them open and listen to the sound of the river at night - the beams on the ceiling and the nice big bathroom. The breakfast was good and the staff were simply delightful and they could not do enough for me. Definitely THE place to stay in Veria!
Absolutely nothing!
Top place to stay in Veria, best location, had great room with balcony, beautifully furnished, nice staff. Go there!
