On the more expensive side and beds get pretty warm at night. Main complaint is that if you're coming with a suitcase there's not a safe place to put it - small lockers were provided but nothing for anything bigger than a backpack

Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift, and while we later realized this is made clear on the ad, we missed it, and would never have booked if we had realized it. Carrying out bags up four flights of stairs is not ideal.

4階に泊まった。流石に階段オンリーは少々きつかったが、安さで相殺できた。ベッドは上段だったが、手すりがもうちょっと欲しかった

Pague por una habitación “privada” creo que en la publicidad del hotel no son muy claros al mencionar que la habitación privada no es privada, es solo un cuarto al lado de todas las camas con espacio abierto en el techo, así que escuchas los ronquidos de los demás o si alguien hace ruido también lo escuchas, aunque la habitación está “bien” para dormir, realmente NO es privada y si tienes maletas de una vez advierto que NO hay ascensor y debes subir muchas escaleras como yo (4) pisos

Las habitaciones compartidas, una vez que cierras la cortina de tu habitación no tiene ventilación y son muy calurosas. Las habitaciones son muy bajas, a penas alcanzas a estar sentado y ya la cabeza te toca el techo

Reviewed Jun 16, 2026Value for money so I can't complain as I already expected some nuances based on the reviews shared. Just an update that towels are provided since some reviews say it isn't. Easy check in and check out. .
You have to provide for your slippers. We needed one since they have a policy that we cannot use the shower in our room after 10pm. Your option us to use the one at the ground floor and guest are lining up. Note that there are no elevators here so the unfortunate mixed dorm are situated at the top floor. Just a tip, since those occupying the top floor can use the lockers at the ground, suggest to just bring with you a separate small bag that you can carry in your room good enough for the duration of your stay. Leave the heavy luggage at the lockers and pack your shopping there instead of bringing them.in your room. Also, this is quite far from the station so after a long day with all the walking and shopping, just take a cab near ueno station. This is just 500 yen.

離車站有段距離 ，宿舍門是輸入密碼感應的裝置，深夜有人輸錯密碼或出入聲音有點大， 因為床位比較多，所以噪音難免。

Not the most comfortable bed, but it was ok. Once the curtains are closed, not a lot of air coming in the pod, made it a bit hot, not the worst but still a bit unpleasant.

I might be missed to notice the hostel does not have lift. I had to carry a large suitcase to 2nd floor which is very hard for me. It’s far more walking distance than I expect to. My suitcase did not fit into the locker.

Reviewed May 8, 2026Ueno is a cool location. Main train station close by making it easy to get everywhere and really cool market with lots of food and bars near enough.
The female dorm has 20 bunks and has pretty much no floor space outside the beds. There are lockers for each bunk but no storage/shelving in your bunk for small items which would have been handy. The room was so noisy with people up at 5.30am every day. Maybe I just got unlucky with other guests but no one seemed adhere to the quiet times. You have to pay for a towel. There aren’t a lot of showers for the amount of bunks. The staff were pleasant but I had to do a pre check in inc passport info, check in in person at the desk AND then check in on an iPad. The process needs to be simpler. The lobby space was small and always super crowded so nowhere to chill or relax which is needed after a long day walking around Tokyo. We booked for a week and ended up leaving early and booking somewhere else the last 2 nights as we couldn’t get any sleep. Maybe hostel isn’t for us anymore.

辦理入住時間，我有詢問說如果班機比較晚的話還可以入住嗎？旅館方面回覆說可以，有自助入住的部分，但是要先進門才有機器才可以辦理入住啊^_^ 於是半夜只好在門那邊等是否有人要進出囉，大包小包在門口等真的很狼狽。 可以理解工作人員有上下班時間，但有些邏輯滿怪的，而且如果要進門才能辦入住的話是不是應該要先說清楚呢？ 另外上舖的部分如果不是臂力很好的話會有摔下來的可能。

Reviewed Apr 8, 2026Beautiful, modern, clean and comfortable. Good amount of bathrooms and space for dressing, good privacy in the shared rooms. The space downstairs was peaceful, and the staff were so friendly.
The location isn’t the greatest, it’s about a 25 minute walk into Ueno, or 10 minutes to the train station to take you into town. But that’s not the property’s fault, just something to consider.

The single room was very small and it was within the shared spaces with the dorm. The room was not fully sealed by walls, so you can still hear people/causes noises. Not worth the price if you are looking for a room with privacy. No elevator. Only able to take shower in the shared showers each floor at 08:00-23:00 (but floor 1, only one shower for the whole building), not practical for early morning. The location was quite far from metros (10-15 min walk)
