Great value family room. Very friendly staff who kindly reserved us a table in the bar area when we arrived, despite it being very busy. Coffee machine and kettle in room. Large TV screen also in room.

Mattress felt a bit worn and is only a double. No toiletries provided. Unable to see TV from seperate single bed.

The gentleman who checked us in was fab! Rooms were clean and comfortable.

No small light options for reading, the one main light was quite dull also so no good for reading on a night.

An amazing place staff and food was excellent

The external bathroom being an older gentleman having to use the facilities in the night waking up and having to get dressed to go to the bathroom and also nowhere to hang shirts up in the room

The rooms are very clean, the hospitality is top notch, in particular i would like to give special recognition to Callum and Lewis, they took great care of me after returning from a busy night shift. The food is also amazing.. I would definitely come back..

GREAT STAFF AND EXTREMELY CLEAN, COMFORTABLE ROOM

SEPERATE PRIVATE BATHROOM WHICH WAS SUPERBLY OUTFITTED AND SPOTLESS BUT A LITTLE TOO SMALL.

The pub itself is very good, the room and private bathroom was really good.

As there is no air conditioning in the room and only one opening window, the room was very hot in the current hot weather. With the window having to be left open all night and the room facing the main road it was very noisy.

Everything from entering the inn took us by surprise. We could not fault anything about the service, cleanliness and quality of the food.

I can't find anything negative to say about the establishment.

We have stayed at the Red lion at least five times and have always found the staff very helpful and friendly. Will keep coming back whenever we are in the area.Very good food If you are looking for somewhere to eat.

The warm welcome, comfy room and ease of parking

Being hyper critical the only thing I didn’t like was the loud banging noise the self closing door between the pub and the staircase made. It only needs a small adjustment for it close quietly .

The location was chosen because I knew it and it was where I needed to be

A great one-stop shop if, like me, you often work away and prefer to eat and sleep in the same place. The staff were very welcoming on arrival, and having parking right outside the pub was a real bonus. The food was exceptional, with a lovely homemade feel, and the bed was comfortable, making for a great night's sleep. I'd happily stay here again.

In the heatwave aircon would have helped but wasn’t listed as a feature. The fan provided helped.

The property was full of character and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The staff were great. Efficient and considerate. We also had a sharing platter which was good value and quite enjoyable. A good selection of beers in the bar and whilst it was warm they had made an effort to keep it relatively cool, with fans in all the rooms. Great value stay and I would heartily recommend..

Happy to say, there is nothing much to report here. It was quite warm but so was everywhere else as it was touching 35degC.

I knew when I made this booking what I was getting. It did not disappoint. Everything was as described. It took me back to the Army days, except this was a luxury Army Quonset Hut, and the toilet and shower were in the same building. The staff was good. The younger lady I had for the room cleaning for the first few days was amazing. She tidied up my room. She's wife material! Overall, it's not for the hotel; it's for the location. The food was ok. I wouldn't have the fish or burger there again. The Pizza from their expansion, the barns were ok, I would buy one again. I would stay there again. You just have to remember it's not a real hotel, it's a room above a bar.

Rooms: Small rooms with the toilet and shower down the hall. The internet was missing frequently. Also loud. This was exactly as described before booking. Internet could be fixed today if they wanted to. Food and drinks 3 stars. They can make it almost 5 stars. They need to copy the local fish vendors in town. The burgers, they could make them with fresh ground beef, not premade patties. Need a real Bloody Mary recipe with the fixings of the Wisconsin salad.

The door keys to room 7 did not work well. It was difficult to unlock the door and also the toilet especial when you were in a hurry! 🤣

Disappointed with the room, definitely not big enough for a "family room", but fortunately I was travelling alone, also this room was an upgrade, I do wish I had kept my original room. Biggest problem was the fact there was no blind covering the velux window, it was leaning against the wall below, I didn't notice it until I had returned that night I reported it the following morning to staff, they said it was talked about the previous day , but they were busy... The problem was it was daylight at 4am, so I was wide awake, every morning....... The blind wasn't put up during my stay ( the installation instruction booklet is in the bottom drawer of the bedside table) No mirror in the bathroom ! Nowhere in the bathroom to put toiletries, no shelf/ unit, despite being a big bathroom. The fire alarm in the bathroom taped over, very worrying, but most probably done because of the build up of steam, obviously needs moving...... This was my third stay here but the most disappointing.

Great stay again, despite this time I was visiting for a family funeral, but have booked in for Rowell fair again in May.

Lovely welcome from staff. The room was as pictured and very comfortable. Bathroom was great.

I'm guessing it's a man that designed the room as the clothes rail was right in front of the mirror lol.

Since we stayed last time, the hotel has undergone something of a transformation. We had the same room as last time but it had been refurbished

Lovely Inn serves food on location, sports bar feel, good beer, nice relaxed atmosphere. Central location. Off street parking.

Nothing but breakfast not served til 0900 so if you need an early start there’s a nice bakery over the road.

Great location, pretty little town. Parking outside. Room was clean and functional. Split bathroom not ideal, but room was very cheap. Was sorry I didn’t stay more than one night. Able to take dig, too, for a small fee. Recommended.

Town centre location so local shops are “on the doorstep”. Although I didn’t need to use it, iron/ironing board and hair dryer are provided

Die Zimmer sind modern und geschmackvoll gestaltet. Das Pub ist typisch englisch und das Essen war gut und sah hausgemacht und sehr appetitlich aus. Frühstück wurde keines angeboten, jedoch gibt es ein sehr gute Bäckerei und einen Supermarkt direkt ums Eck.

Im Zimmer kein Föhn und kein Spiegel im Bad. Bett war sehr weich.

ROOM 10. No windows to open, (2 skylights.) No plug in wash hand basin or a shelf to put our toiletries on. No bedside tables or lamps, no wall clock. Only one dinning chair to watch TV. Coffee machine only 2 pods, plenty of instant coffee, teas, sugar's and milk. Basic room. £80-00 a bit steep.

No complaints really but external bathroom made it a bit more tricky logistically, and only other thing we personally commented on was bedroom light could have been a brighter light for makeup putting on purposes 😂

I stayed at the property as I was having my 50th party at the old barns - the room was big and it was great that we had our own en-suite. It was nice that we had bottles of water and tea & coffee facilities etc
