Het ontvangst bij de receptie was heel relaxed. De medewerkers en speciaal de vrouw in de keuken waren erg vriendelijk.

Jammer dat dit hotel een zeer beperkt aantal parkeerplaatsen heeft. De receptie adviseerde prima om naar een gratis parkeerplaats gegaan op redelijke loopafstand.

Nell'ordine: il fatto che la zona delle camere fosse accessibile a chiunque senza controllo, la pulizia, le numerose cose non funzionanti (luce bagno, finestra bagno, pressione doccia...). Il personale era più attento a gestire il pub che l'albergo (non ce l'ho con loro, lì capisco, ma non c'è alcun servizio). Mi spiace ma lo sconsiglio a qualunque tipologia di viaggiatore. Faccio invece i complimenti al responsabile marketing che ha messo delle foto accattivanti rispetto alla realtà delle stanze.

It was explained by email that I was using 2 crutches to get about but they allocated a room on the first floor up a steep winding staircase then their were 2 additional sets of steps to negotiate and the shower was in the bath so I could not use it. The room was nothing like the pictures on the web site, it was very dated, broken bath panel, torn lace curtains cracked window pain, karaoke until midnight. We complained at 4 pm that we hadn't any working lights in the room, we were assured at 6 pm that the problem was solved, it wasn't, we complained again at 10.15 pm and were told that it would be dealt with immediately at 11.15 pm my husband stood in reception for 15 minutes not moving until the lights were fixed.

The beds were uncomfortable

It was near where we wanted to be.

It was a bit rough and ready, and there was a karaoke night when we stayed. I think the booking site should state that there can be loud musical events. We would not have stayed had we known. The room was hot and the sash window only opened at the bottom, so all the hot air was trapped. There was no air conditioning.

Johnny the lady who sorted our cancelled room out made everything better. She couldn’t have been nicer

Shower wasn't brilliant with black mold in the corner of the shower tray. Room was stiflingly hot even though a fan was provided. So add were v young and tried their best but did not even understand when we asked for a mini cub number locally- didn't know what we meant and when we clarified could not give us a taxi number locally!

Lovely people and just where I needed to be.

Minor details, the shower was broken, could only hose myself down was I wouldn’t stay up. Also, although there was a switch for the main light by the bed, a bedside lamp would have been nice.

It was quieter than expected

The bathroom was awful, no water pressure, no shower curtain. Shower taps were coming off the wall.

The evening meal and breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly The room was clean and bed was comfortable

On the day we stayed it was 30c outside so the room No.2 was very hot but there was a fan provided in the room so we managed to sleep reasonably comfortably The room was let down by torn net curtains in the bedroom and a shabby blind in the bathroom

Very low pressure in the shower. Accessible room but shower stool was not suitable to use as uneven legs. Parking was a challenge,

The rooms were a disappointment, the beds and pillows very uncomfortable, the shower was a joke as the water kept cutting off whilst showering and had no water pressure. There were no hangers in the very old wardrobe and when I found someone to ask (maybe the cleaner?) she gave me some of hers!

My room was tiny and I paid the most out of everyone we booked with...for the same room rate but their rooms were bigger and cost less. My shower was awful.

El desayuno es abundante. Puedes servirte zumo, fruta y cereales a tu gusto y solicitar plato caliente elegido de la carta. El chico que nos atendió era amable.

El acceso al hotel es por la parte posterior, junto al aparcamiento y zona de carga/descarga de un centro comercial que está justo detrás. Sensación de estar en un zulo. El sofá cama es muy incómodo ya que el colchón tiene 2 o 3 centímetros de grosor y te clavas los hierros. Tienen 5 plazas de aparcamiento y si llegas y están ocupadas te tienes que ir a un aparcamiento público (a 5 min). El agua de la ducha sale con muy poca presión, cuesta aclararse el pelo.

You get what you pay for. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is sadly in poor condition. It definitely needs attention. The area is great, right in the heart of the town. If you only need a base this is a good place to book. The breakfast was included in the price.....it was ok.

The hotel itself badly needs attention. It is in bad shape and does need a deep clean. It's such a shame as the location and atmosphere is great. Saying that, if we needed to go back to that area we would book again as we know you pay for what you get. The room itself was ok but with a good clean could be better. The toilet seat had stains on it that we had to remove, the loo itself hadn't been cleaned!!

The room although basic had everything needed in the main but lacked attention to detail.

No bedside lamp. Not much room to move past bottom of twin beds. No glasses for water. The biggest let down was the shower over the bath which needs urgent attention. Just a trickle of water if you wanted a warm shower. This was the same regardless of time of day.

Location close to Avenue Verte cycle route. Welcoming staff, great breakfast.

Simple unsophisticated accommodation in an old pub. Room away from the bars. Much as expected, an appropriate staging post on cycle ride Avenue Verte, Paris to London.

Having to chain bikes to outside railings. The only stop on our trip where we weren't offered secure bike storage. Staff were polite and well meaning but perhaps a little customer service training wouldn't go amiss.

They had no remote for the TV in our room, we couldn’t get the hot water to work for the shower, Curtain was detached at the top (very high window) so it let in the bright security lights from outside, they said it had been reported to be re fitted.

Located in town centre and great for a good value hotel stay.

Stairs and small corridors hard to navigate with no help if you have luggage.

No hot water for a shower, the comment I got was if I turn on the hot water then the heating comes on. Not good at all, the next was as you walk into the bedroom the valance on the bed was dirty in a few places and there was mold on the grouting in the bathroom. The worst thing was that we were woken up at 11.30pm by people continually banging a door at the front of the pub then again at 4.37am by the bin men followed at 5.30 am by the delivery of the barrels of beer and drinks. so not much sleep at all. Other clients were in the back of the hotel so if you stay ask for the back bedrooms.

My wife and I were given a number to call to find out what was happening, it went to voicemail constantly, my wife sent a text, left a voicemail etc etc but still a day later no reply. Booking.com refunded the price but we ended up driving home as we couldn't find anywhere else available within 20 miles. We had an event to go to also that evening which we didn't attend due to this. Still waiting for a call back...nothing.... Wouldn't rate this place personally, no communication or anything.

The Crown hotel is een eenvoudig maar prima onderkomen voor een paar nachten. Verwacht kamers boven een pub, geen echt hotel-hotel. Kamers zijn groot genoeg, bedden prima, sanitair idem. Weinig luxe, dus dat moet je niet verwachten hier. Wel prima Full English Breakfast, een gezellige pub met eetruimte en ruim voldoende parkeerruimte achter het hotel. Slechts enkele parkeerplaatsen van het hotel, maar vlak daarnaast een ruim, gratis parkeerterrein van winkels.

outside could do with painting especially at the rear, old windows need replacing, general untidiness at rear, and maybe a bit more car parking at the rear, but overall enjoyed our stay snd would like to have had more time to look around Hailsham.

Where do I start! We booked on booking.com, had an email the day prior to our stay saying they were looking forward to seeing us etc. We drove 3 hours to the hotel to attend a wedding nearby. The hotel appeared closed. We were told we could check in at 3pm so at half 3 (30 mins before the start of the wedding) you can imagine our disgust when we recieved an email to say the hotel had closed down! Ruined our day/night/weekend to say the least.

The room was on the ground floor, which was great as I have mobility issues and not very keen on using lifts. Good size, clean room and bathroom. The shower was easy to use. The facilities were adequate. The room was tastefully decorated, with a mirror, chair and table, and in keeping with the building. The staff were very pleasant. I had all I needed for my stay.

The bed was very low for getting in and out of, but not uncomfortable. There was a passageway outside the window, I know nets aren't fashionable, but being on the ground floor I felt there was a lack of privacy.

I liaised with the hotel the day before my reservation to check out the possibility of an early check in. They replied with all relevant info. We arrived at check in time (1500hrs) parked up and received an email from Booking.com sent (1522hrs) canceling the reservation!! We travelled down for a reunion and now were stranded without anywhere to stay! The hotel was locked up with all curtains drawn. A sign on the door provided a mobile number but this was switched off. Plans ruined with no explanation.

I cant tell you. I asked about parking and dropping a bag off early. They answered the parking question to tell.me to follow the local rules and ignored the bag. When I rang at 12 to see if I could check in I got nothing but answer phone. I didn't stay and they took my money anyway. Useless on all front.

Would be nice to stay. Even charges me for the breakfast I didn't have. Didn't answer anything. Generally just useless and charging 93 quid for nothing.

Oerbrits etablissement met bijhorende pub. Warme ontvangst aan de toog met daarna een heerlijk diner van traditioneel Britse gerechten (complimenten aan de chef!). Perfect gelegen in de dorpskern (hoofdstraat van een schattig klein stadje).

Het ontbijt was qua keuze te nemen of te laten, geen keuzes kunnen maken dus. Fruit in de fruitschaal had duidelijk z'n beste tijd gehad en de 'yogurt met vers fruit' bleek gewoon een potje met fruitsmaak te zijn. Enkel instant koffie (decaf) i.p.v. versie koffie

I liked it was clean and simple in the room. The staff at reception were nice.

I did not like that there was the kitchen fan on, it was rather loud, next to my window. There was a A4 laminated sign next to the TV saying fan will turn off at 9... it did not. I called the hotel but no answer. The bar staff were the ones manning the hotel reception and the pub was full.

Wir haben um 07.00 Uhr das Frühstück abgemacht. Es war niemand da bis 08.00 Uhr und haben das Frühstück trotzdem bezahlt! Keine Parkplätze vor Ort, wir mussten öffentlich parkieren.

Perfect location for us in the centre of town (for an event at the Pavilion). Very friendly staff at lunchtime and checking in/out. Nice lunch - not the menu on the website, but good all the same. Comfy bed. The fan is useful as the room is stuffy (small window). The instant coffee in the room is surprisingly tasty! For £80, we'd visit again.

Not convinced it was a 'superior' double but didn't see an ordinary one. Poor pressure in the shower. Loo brush needs changing. Confusing signs about breakfast/checkout times. More coat hangers needed - only 3 and they're faulty so they don't stay hanging. Light switches in weird places - the room's been rearranged and the switches aren't by the bed any more.

The young lady who who was on reception and then in the restaurant and then in the bar was very pleasant and hard working

The food, the mattress on the bed was the most uncomfortable that I have ever encountered, the shower, basically everything else

A charming and tidy room, staff were friendly, and there were some good amenities nearby. Well connected with the bus network too. Overall, fine for a 1 night stay in Hailsham.

The pub itself is a bit rundown, and there was some clutter left outside our room for the duration of our stay. Room overlooked the street, which was quite noisy.

Stadff serving breakfast and also when we tried to get a coffe atin the evening was tolda the pub wasnt busy so they turned of coffe machine also the breakfst on the last day the boiler run out of water which was for the tea and coffee they also run out of orange juice

Room was spotless, breakfast was great, good food, freshly cooked (not left under heat lamps), good sized portions. Hot water for tea needed to be hotter, personal choice. Bed left something to be desired though, covers were clean and comfortable, pillows not quite. The mattress was for a 'young person', i.e. it was only a few inches thick so you felt as though you were lying on a solid board (underneath) I'm obviously used to more comfy creature comforts!

The bad, as previously mentioned, mattress was not really suitable for adults, I'm not that heavy!

It was very handy for the bowls game I was playing in only a 10 minute walk away

Room number 1. Not a good location. Next to the stairway and over the pub entrance and overlooking the highs street. Long wait for breakfast and breakfast not great. Also could get hot water from tbe shower for some reason.

Location was good and close to restaurants. The staff were helpful and attentive at breakfast.

The room was dated with one of the twin beds extra springy and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok with a cooked breakfast option but be prepared for the garlic and herbs that is used to cook the mushrooms in.
