My husband and I were in Bristol for a long weekend to celebrate our "grand dtr's" baby shower. We are older than most and have always appreciated the kindness shown to us by the staff. We have stayed here before since our dtr lives here and we like to visit when possisble. After the event, we gathered on the roof top for cool, adult beverages - a great way to end the weekend with family.
Very personable and the restaurant viviansVivian, the hotel had gluten free options
Great hotel in Bristol! It is within walking distance of several restaurants and a short drive for fly fishing. Vivian’s Table is very good and service is excellent. We had an awesome bartender at the rooftop bar and really enjoyed our stay!
The location was perfect. It’s within walking distance to the old downtown area with a lot of restaurants and shops, and it’s not on a busy road. The atmosphere is modern, clean and quiet. The room was clean and had a lot of amenities. I did share some improvement suggestions for the suite I stayed in but they aren’t deal breakers worth noting here. The value of the hotel is in the location, level of customer service and in the great restaurant. Get the ricotta pancakes! I would stay here again.
Precious boutique hotel in a fantastic location. We were there for show at Paramount, and hotel was within walking distance to venue, food, bars and shopping. Room was really nice, great quality bedding and extremely clean. Hotel itself was quiet, and amenities were a nice addition. Everyone we encountered provided excellent service and communication was easy peasy. Great price for our stay compared to other "chain" hotels in the area. Would definitely stay again!
The Bristol Hotel is an oasis in Bristol TN/VA! Beautiful, comfortable, great food, great location, great price. What’s not to love. We came for show at Paramount, equally good, and stayed here. Service was personal and professional as well. We would clearly stay again!
This was our first time at The Bristol Hotel in Bristol, VA but it definitely will not be our last! When we arrived to our king room it was extremely clean, bright and inviting. The linens on the bed were soft and luxurious, the bed was very comfortable, not too soft or too hard. Even the pillows were comfortable, which is hard to find. The bathroom was very nice with a rain shower head with a handheld. Shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were provided and very nice, although we could have used more shower gel. Overall, it was just a lovely stay and clean, clean, clean! We will definitely go back!
Staff were great, friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Location is great, onsite restaurant Vivian’s Table is excellent and if you’re looking for variety you are within an easy walk to multiple restaurants on State Street too. Their rooftop bar, Lumac has the best views.
This little hotel in the small but musically important little town of Bristol, VA, far exceeds the great reviews it rightfully receives. They know they are off the beaten track, so the staff is all-in: They are personable and attentive and delightful. The rooms are comfy and well-appointed, the rooftop bar is lovely and has good food and drink. Breakfast and tickets to the Birthplace of Country Music museum seal the deal. And if you travel with your dog, this a place that welcomes dogs rather than tolerates them.
The Bristol is one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in for years. Great service, great venue. Don’t miss it!
The location and view were fantastic. Downtown block from State Street with lots of stores and restaurants, all walkable from the hotel, love it. The staff were all so friendly and made our stay enjoyable. The room was clean, and the window view was awesome, facing the park/street, surprisingly quiet. The price is great and affordable. No continental breakfast, but it has a RoofTop Bar and downstairs Vivian Restaurant serving great breakfast.
I grew up in this area and always stay at The Bristol Hotel when I return to visit. It’s beautifully decorated, beds are cozy/comfy, showers are hot and parking is a breeze!! I often eat at Vivian’s, where the staff is friendly & efficient and the food is delicious! I highly recommend Bristol Hotel.
A lovely hotel with kind and welcoming staff. They allow dogs, but keep them on the lower floors which allows those of us with dog allergies to have rooms where dogs have not resided. The rooftop bar was fun and festive - we were not there on a night with live music but know that is on the schedule. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets extra soft. Bristol itself needs revitalizing, but this hotel provides a good start to that revitalization.
This is a lovely hotel with great amenities. The rooftop bar is awesome. The rooms are very comfortable and nicely done. This is our second year staying here and we will definitely be back next year.
Peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff. Enjoyed having the roof top bar on location. The only issue I had was there is a train close by, but that was really the only noise. It’s a quiet town and a quaint hotel.
Excellent location, very pleasant and peaceful, and above all the hotel staff were amazing!
I cannot think of anything! For us at least, it was perfect.
We travel cross country twice a year and The Bristol is always one of our stops. However, I would choose to stay here as a vacation as well. Top notch location-park your car and walk to multitude of dining options as well as 2 great restaurants in the hotel itself. Awesome rooftop bar. Pet friendly with easily accessible grassy areas, a park across the street and plenty of sidewalks. Parking is easy. Rooms are upscale, beautifully decorated and functional. Beds and sheets are great. Furnishings/rugs are upscale and very comfortable. Quiet, very clean and well maintained property. Lovely, friendly service from front desk, to cleaning staff to restaurant servers. Small well equipped fitness center. Really upscale experience all around at a very good price.
The Bristol is Amazing. Rooms are beautifully decorated. And the rooftop bar and breakast spot were both top shelf!
Excellent stay from location, to room, to restaurant. I’m a repeat guest and will be again. Although small, even the workout room is first class with towels, water, and a rest room.
This is an awesome hotel normally when we’re on a trip from Dallas, Texas to Washington DC we stop at a roadside hotel and then go on our way. We discovered this little gem on our last visit and I’ll never stay anywhere else. It is a lovely place. The restaurant in the lounge area are fabulous. The rooms are gorgeous. The staff goes above and beyond.
The room was nicely appointed, large sized room. Clean and comfortable.
Glass shower door exploded into shards. Was very fortunate to have superficial cuts only. The staff was borderline rude, implying (?) that we did something? Maybe they are just inexperienced with customer care. First aid kit was I sufficient. Initially offered us half off the bill?! It was extremely traumatic to have a spontaneous shower door explosion. The staff did not seem to care. They said Corporate would be calling us but nothing happened. The hotel itself was very nice. The rooftop restaurant was nice but food was average.
Everything.
We had a wonderful stay at the The Bristol. Our parents were Bristol natives and as many times as we visited we never really took the time to enjoy the people, beauty and experiences that Bristol has to offer. From the time we walked into the hotel we were greeted with warm southern hospitality and beauty. The hotel was extremely clean, the decor is classy but inviting to sit, relax and chat. The rooms were beautifully designed and plenty of room to roam around in. The view from our room was tremendous. Each morning sunrise brightened up the mountains and the Bristol sign in the evenings shined with the proud message "a good place to live". The staff was always considerate and kind, never making us feel as if we were a bother with our many inquiries. Even the locals enjoy the rooftop bar, telling us it's a must see and the sunsets are incredible. The location was perfect. We enjoyed the food, shopping and entertainment that was within walking distance from the hotel. Take time to experience it, you won't be sorry and it is a "good place to visit" as well as "a good place to live". Our Mom and Dad would be proud we now understand the true meaning of living good in Bristol. Thank you to the The Bristol and all the team members who made this trip a memorable one.
We had a fabulous stay. The entire staff was helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The rooms (we booked two adjoining) were 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 and 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧. One room had a king bed, sleeper sofa, & a tub/shower combo, the other room had two queens and a spacious stand-up shower, and both had mini fridges, desks, chairs, Keurig's, K-cups & condiments, safes, TVs, ironing boards/irons, blow dryers, toiletries, etc. Wonderful security measures. Great walkability, with a Veterans park across the street. Make sure to visit Blackbird Bakery just a few steps away! We didn't visit the Hotel restaurant or rooftop bar this time, but enjoyed them both on a previous visit. We even had a view of the Iconic Bristol sign from one of our windows. I already look forward to my return to Bristol Hotel in the future! Clean, great location, no noise from other rooms, and lovely atmosphere. 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩.
Best location. Everything is walkable and parking is easy.
We loved the easy access to downtown. The room was very clean and modern. The rooftop bar was wonderful and had nice views of the mountains and the Bristol Sign.
Close to everything cool
Nothing
Great location. Lots of free parking. Helpful friendly staff.
Can’t think of anything.
Roof top restaurant East free parking Beautiful room
Wow! The roof top bar, our spacious, well appointed room and the restaurant were all exceptional. The hotel is lovely and staff were amazing. We highly recommend the Bristol Hotel.
The hotel is a comfortable, clean and convenient destination on the way to Nashville. Stayed twice now and the restaurant and rooftop bar are a perfect added amenity. Professional and friendly staff included!
From the outside, the hotel appears to be a fading factory building. But the interior is very nicely done. Our room was spacious, attractive and comfortable. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious, and accompanied by very nice service. In the evening, we enjoyed a drink (and some more very nice service) at the rooftop bar, overlooking the famous "Bristol - A Good Place to Live" sign that straddles the Virginia-Tennessee state line down the middle of State Street.
Location is great! On site dining a plus. Extremely clean. Quiet. Very friendly staff! Wildlife encounter an added bonus!
Great location. Easy to find.
Not a thing.
Roof top Bar/Restaurant was great. Staff very nice. Food was very good. Great view. Rooms were very comfortable.
parking was a challange.
Stayed here in November and enjoyed it so much, we had to come back. Hotel rooms are well sized and clean. Bathroom is large and has a very nice shower. Staff are great and always friendly and helpful. Roof top bar is great, but the hotel does allow the public in at night, so it can get busy, and hard to get service. Food service still needs work, restaurant is overpriced for the quality, would recommend going down to state street instead.
We just returned from our travels that included an overnight at The Bristol Hotel. Top Notch Stay! The room was so comfortable and clean. We had a corner room so we had extra windows and loved watching the people outside since it also was a prom weekend. The service at this hotel was super! The check-in was very pleasant and efficient. The first floor is basically check-in (the small lobby for check-in is to the left when you enter) and meeting rooms. Once we realized they had feather pillows which do not work well for us, we asked for another option. In a respectable amount of time, they were brought to our room. The lady was very pleasant in doing this for us and we appreciated her attitude. The location is in downtown with a park right across the street. It is a lovely park but we did see some homeless people in this general area of town. The Bristol Hotel is very close to Paramount Bristol Theater if you are in town for a show. You can park your car for your hotel stay and then walk to eating places and the theater as well. There is also a restaurant at the hotel -- we read nice reviews about it but did not eat there ourselves this time. The parking for the hotel is in a public lot across the street and there are just a few spots right in front of the hotel along the street. The Birthplace of Country Music Museum is along this block and is a nice additional thing to do while in the area. I would love to stay here again if in the area and certainly recommend it to other travelers.
The location is perfect. We were able to just walk to top attractions. I can see the Bristol sign from our room. The lady who checked us in was very nice. (Sorry I forgot her name. I took it down but I lost the paper I wrote it to.) She was very accomodating, kind and cheerful. She is excellent!
None. Nothing I can think of.
This hotel, and everything associated with it, IS A GEM. What was excellent...the staff, the lobby, location, parking..the room, the views..the elevators (yes, the elevators), the restaurant on ground floor (fabulous dinner), the rooftop bar (excellent space, drinks, staff and is popular which is good as you want to drink with others) - even the morning coffee was good. Oh, and easy access to State Street. There was no negative for us. In a heart beat I'd stay there again.
Easy to find, updated, comfortable and clean room
The atmosphere is amazing. It is stunning to be in the mountains. The restaurant has great food and the rooftop bar is a must.
Room 610 corner room with 2 queens.
2 queen suite with sofa on 2nd floor has a view of the restaurant kitchen rooftop with noisy HVAC? and kitchen exhaust.
Great rooftop bar - went there for sunset Very comfy room and good sheet Very clean Great location, try the blackbird cafe 2 blocks down for lattes - amazing little place
Room a bit tight Shower door banged shut
Breakfast was great. Grits and biscuits were excellent. Best grits and biscuits I’ve had. Staff were wonderful. Provided coffee and tea to go.
Wish we had more time to explore the town. Limited menu at the rooftop bar but good options. Bread and butter pickles were too spicy and could use a bit of sweetness.
The restaurant and accommodations were exceptional! This hotel is a destination in and of itself!
The Bristol is a very nice and extraordinarily clean hotel. The shower is phenomenal with rain shower head. Beds are comfortable, and staff are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again. We loved the rooftop bar.
Location was great
Incredibly clean(sweep the streets in front of hotel each morning as an example), there are wonderful people working there. I mean all of them. The food was very good, although menu limited. Very safe and comfortable. Will definitely be going back
Excellent location downtown with easy parking and so clean. The attached restaurant was exceptional, both food quality and service. Love the history of the hotel and availability of shops and restaurants nearby.
Just everything was perfect! Beautiful property across from a park! Easy in and out. Easy parking! Great rooms and easy to walk to downtown venues!
Nothing
I booked my room with Nikki. She was so friendly & informative. My biggest complaint is that the beds are rock hard & I am used to a firm mattress. After 4 sleepless nights & numerous complaints to the people behind the front desk I stumbled across 1 of the managers who tracked down a topper for my bed. I think her name was Kayla or Katie. Something was finally done to make the bed a bit softer. The housekeeper Emily went the extra mile on cleaning my room too. I was booked for a couple of weeks in a suite & was ready to ck. Out due to the uncomfortable bed situation. My other big complaint is the front desk on 2 separate nights & multiple phone calls doesn’t answer the phone. If you go down to the desk someone is there. Strange……
The Bristol is our preferred hotel when we travel by car with our dog between the Florida panhandle and New York's Catskills mountains. The hotel provides quiet elegance and great meals in a long two day drive.
Parking could be better.
I live in Richmond, VA, and my son is in school in Chattanooga, TN. I wanted to spend some time with him, but I only had two days to get away. I found Bristol on the map and figured that this was a good 'halfway point' to meet up. The Bristol Hotel was just stunning. Its history, the accommodations, and the friendly staff solidified that I had made a great choice. We visited the Country Music Museum, which adjoins the hotel, walked the beautiful downtown (especially loved the music quietly pumping throughout), and ate at many local restaurants. The sound of the train bellowing as it rambled by made this one of my favorite small-town discoveries.
Ours was just a short overnight stay on a longer road trip down I-81, but the comfort factor at The Bristol Hotel was high. I did't even realize that I had booked a Winter Getaway special, so we were pleasantly surprised to learn that we were entitled to a complimentary spiked hot chocolate, which was very much appreciated at the end of a long day on the road. Everyone we dealt with --- from check-in reception to rooftop bar to check-out desk -- was very pleasant. Beds and pillows were comfy. Rainshower showerhead was also a pleasant treat.
Customer service was exceptional
Everything was perfect.Room was super clean and comfortable.Bathroom was huge and shower head was amazing! Restaurant was so good and staff were very friendly!
No complaints!
Everything
Your extra charge for a dog is much too high
The property was clean and quite comfortable. We loved the beds and pillows.
Nothing we didn’t like except would have been nice to have breakfast included in cost of room.
Lovely boutique hotel. Easy in, easy out. Plenty of free parking. Nice menu in the restaurant and a nice food menu for the roof top lounge. Great views from the lounge of the surrounding area. Rooms are clean and quiet. Great place to stay if you are visiting the Bristol area. 5 minute walk to the Paramount..
This is the fourth time we, my wife and I , have stayed at the Bristol Hotel. We like staying there, it reminds you of the days of "The Grand Old Hotels". All of the employees we have dealt with are courteous and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We love going to the rooftop Bar in the evening for a drink (the Bloody Mary is spot on). You can also order food while at the Bar. The town of Bristol is perfect for a weekend getaway. Take time to explore the town and surrounding area. P.S. While staying at the Bristol walk down to the Blackbird Bakery for coffee and one of their pastries, you won't be disappointed.
Great hotel and location
Nothing
The Bristol Hotel is a unique hidden gem located in downtown Bristol, VA. The hotel’s rooftop bar and onsite restaurant are both excellent, and the view from the rooftop bar - outstanding! The reuse of an existing building also checks the sustainability and low impact development model. The rooms are well designed, staff very helpful, and the location is very convenient to downtown attractions and restaurants.
The hotel is a beautifully repurposed 100 year old office building. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The lobby is welcoming. Vivian’s Table serves delicious food. There’s even a great rooftop lounge overlooking the city. Its location next to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum makes it a great place to stay when visiting Bristol.
Lovely hotel with great ambience but not stuffy or super formal. Rooms are beautifully decorated but more importantly they are comfortably furnished. Beds were firm and comfortable. It is very quiet and clean in rooms and common areas of hotel. Pet friendly and there are grass areas right outside the front door of hotel and a park across the street. There are sidewalks for easy walking with a dog. Great restaurant inside hotel with local flavors and location is walking distance to many other restaurants and shopping. Easy parking. Great hotel. Highly recommend!
Me an my wife first stayed here a few months ago for a spontaneous trip and we fell in love with the hotel. It has became a monthly trip now for a quick day getaway. We love the rooms, rooftop bar and restaurant. Great food and drinks at both locations. A special shoutout goes to Mallory at the front as she has always been the one to check us in and we have gotten to know her. She always makes us feel like celebrities when we arrive and takes the extra time to make sure we have everything we need. All the staff has been friendly and I would highly advise anyone in the area to come give this place a try.
Dinner at Vivian’s Table was great; good food and very friendly service. Hotel location is very central to town activities, including the Christmas tree lighting that happened the night we were there. Comfortable beds.
Room was very nice but on the small side. Due to road closures for tree lighting ceremony, we were not able to drive up to the hotel to unload our luggage but had to park at a distance and lug it to the hotel. Also, there is only street parking and no one to help with luggage.
Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. This was my fourth or fifth visit to The Bristol Hotel, and I will continue to visit this great hotel! A highlight is always visiting the Lumac rooftop bar. Nice views. Great ambiance. Good drink and food. Although I did not enjoy Vivian’s table on this trip, I have eaten there several times and can highly recommend that as well.
Wonderful staff, accommodations and great location.
The whole thing. Clean, modern, and staff was great. The food in the restaurant was exceptional.
Nothing to say. It was all excellent.
A fabulous, exceptionally clean hotel with large rooms/bathrooms and a very friendly staff. Very nice restaurant and rooftop bar. Would definitely recommend staying there if you are in the Bristol area. You won't find a nicer hotel in a better location than the Bristol. But now I'm going to nitpick a little. Would have been perfect if the single serve coffee maker in the room had the option for tea or hot chocolate. Would have been perfect if the mattress didn't sound like there was a plastic mattress cover beneath the sheet. Would have been perfect if the $2 whipped cream (dollop), or $2 strawberry (a single cut up strawberry) wasn't tacked on to the breakfast price. The hotel is a 9 but could be 10 with just a few tweaks and some better food.
