Great boutique hotel with great restaurant with delicious food and nice not too loud music. My husband even asked for the playlist. We were here with our 3 kids and they loved the pool and playing on the beach. The suite is big with an amazing view and close to the restaurant. The hotel is situated in the small ‘village’ of Paamul, which makes the setting very local and homely. Definitely recommend to stay here if you like small cosy hotels with good service like us.
This hotel's biggest advantage is really its superb location - just in front of Paamul beach and surrounded by serene nature. The views from the rooms are stunning. The included breakfast was amazing, and the restaurant's food was great overall. Most importantly, the staff at the restaurant was extremely kind and lovely and really made up for everything else!
As much as we loved the location and the kind staff, there were quite a few downsides. There is a lot of construction at the property right now, and only a makeshift reception in what appears to be a sales office. While the rooms are spacious and overall cleanish, they are very damp and quite outdated: the bathroom appliances were rusty, the walls were stained, the AC was leaking, and there was mold in a couple of places. The room was sparsely equipped, with a rudimentary kitchenette and a cheap mini coffee maker. The price-performance ratio did not match at all, especially compared to other accommodations we stayed in during our trip. It's a shame, really, because all it would take is a little more maintenance.
Very comfortable, sandy beach at your doorstep, chill atmosphere , sunbeds, pool with whirlpool, beach service and all other resort-ish amenities included. Private parking next to your room. Breakfast was amazing! Take the breakfast included option: you get fluffy pancakes with fruit, 2 eggs with delicious bacon, juice and an American coffee, that they would refill for free. Dinners were also tasty.
Rooms are a little bit outdated and AC was leaking. Waiters are used to USA style of tipping, which is not the case in other parts of the Yucatán peninsula (Holbox, Valladolid, Merida, etc.). As Europeans we apparently didn’t tip them enough the first night one of them (Maartin) didn’t even look at us anymore during the rest of our stay, after we gave him “just” 10% tip. Other staff members were friendly and helpful - maybe also because we increased our tips as we didn’t want to be ignored by the whole resort for the rest of our stay.
Aufmerksame Mitarbeiter.
Me gusto Todo
The view is amazing and the beach is gorgeous. It’s close to Playa del Carmen without being crazy or touristy. The food at the restaurant is excellent (though expensive). During the day, there are lots of day visitors, but by 5pm or so, the crowd thins out and it gets quiet.
The service is not amazing. The front office is very transactional and while the waitstaff are lovely, service in the restaurant can be very slow. As long as you are ok with a slow vibe, it won’t bother you!
Fantastic room with amazing view of the ocean and beach, very clean and comfortable, great amenities in the room (coffee, fridge, microwave, AC), beach had a very relaxed vibe
Breakfast service was very slow and the quality was inconsistent.
Location is top! Accomodation is right next to the beach. The beach is rocky, stones. We could do some snorkeling! Cleaning personal made a good job! If you want to do some food shopping you have to have a car or get a taxi!
Breakfast is included in the price however you have to be careful only 1 drink and 1 plate of food is included, if you want to have another one you have to pay for it! Also you have to pay for the smoothies and other breakfast options! Breakfast buffet would be nicer! You have to give them a tip 15% a minimum but they like to get over 20%, if you give smaller they don’t look happy. Also if you order a pina colada in a restaurant you get it in a big glass , the same pina colada if you order it on the beach side you will get it in a smaller glass … very interesting.
Hotel located in a private, very safe area. If you're looking to relax, this is the ideal place. The room is clean and spacious, with a balcony that provides direct access to the beach (literally, you go down 2 steps from your balcony and you're on the beach). The restaurant is good, although a bit expensive, but within the price range for the area. The beach is very beautiful, although a bit rocky, and very clean.
The location makes this hotel a top choice. The beach and the snorkeling spots in the water are sublime. The beach club has great food and service.
Our room was getting a little rusty, literally. The beds were good though. Everything is cleaned daily and the balcony makes you forget everything.
Spectacular location and views of the beach, rock-free swimming possible in front of the hotel with no sargassum when we visited in October. Beautifully decorated trendy restaurant/bar area with unusually good food. We were happy to eat here 3 nights in a row.
What you will not find in the rooms: any shelves or drawers for clothes, any hooks for towels, a drying rack. You thus end up living out of your suitcase on the floor, putting your wet towels straight on the floor, and hanging your wet swimwear (it's a beach hotel!) on the terrace chairs or coffee table, which you then can't use. All this makes for an unnecessarily uncomfortable stay and is really a shame as it would be quite cheap to fix. The guest experience has not been well considered. There also seemed to be a problem with the showers, which were so weak that I eventually gave up trying to get the shampoo out of my hair and just left it to the next hotel. It was like trying to shower in the rain. The reception opens at 9am, and communication in English is not standard.
Anything By The Beach is Beautiful...This Little Gem Has its Own Beauty From Its Tropical Living Which Surrounds The Restaurant And Hotel To Awed Water Views... The Room Was In Good Temperature, Clean, Spacious With A Great View of The Ocean... I Give a 10 in Everything... The Food Was Super Delicious, The Service Very Attentive On Everything... I Will Come Back!!! Highly Recommended!!!

Perfect, just couldn't go in the ocean because of bad see weed. It stays for several months.
Staff were nice. The food was very good
There was a lot of seaweed that made it impossible to swim and there was only a very little pool for everyone in the hotel including people who have houses in the compound. The room was large yet the bathroom needs urgent renovation
wind was too strong to allow snorkeling while wevwerebthere, which was the main reason we booked our stay
Truly friendly and helpful staff throughout the resort who worked hard to understand my Spanglish. They fought bravely to fight an influx of seaweed that was heavier than typical. No hot shower but warm enough. Room was perfect for our girls trip. Expertly cleaned daily.
Beautiful peaceful setting. Exactly what we wanted for a quiet, chilled fewdl days. The food was delicious, the staff friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean and the views spectacular. I would recommend.
The room comes with a fridge and microwave but no Crockery, cutlery or glasses. We checked in after the office closer at 5 so the security ladies gave us our key but there wasn't a lot of information shared so we had to sort of figure it out for ourselves. Only minor things but easy to sort.
I love the great view and being oceanfront. I love the laid-back small hotel feel. Quiet, calm water.
Beds are hard, sargasso was crazy
Wonderful, new, modern, clean place with great view, location, pool and bar.
Great location, food and service
The room is urgently needing remodeling. Aluminium doors (acces to the terrace) not able to fully close and rusty. Mattess very hard.
Rather small hotel, which is located on the beach front of a nice calm bay with white sand beach, but rocky entrance to the sea. The hotel is part of a small resort with a guarded entrance. It is a great place for a family relax. Our room was spacious, clean, comfy and with a balcony that had an awesome view of the bay. Breakfast included with the accommodation was great, but it covered just half of the menu. Another plus were the loungers in shade on the beach available for the hotel guests.
The only drawback we recognized is lack of dinning options besides the hotel restaurant.
Paamul has always been a favorite. We visited in 2023. However, our room AC was not working so this time and we struggled to sleep on our first night. A suggestion tip, if you have any problems with the room you need to get it sorted before 5pm otherwise the front desk closes and you will need to wait until the next day at 9am to get it sorted. We were able to get another room the next day on the upper floor after numerous visits to the front desk during the course of the day. There was no discount offered for the inconvenience. The beach was excellent to swim, the sargassum was a problem for most hotels but not necessarily a problem for paamul. They have one of the best beaches to swim. The food wasn’t bad, it could be improved. Breakfast was free for the most part, they did charge us for simple things like fruit plate or orange juice which I thought wasn’t quite necessary. All in all, a good stay. Not sure if we’ll be back again.
Awesome location, right on the sea and great complimentary breakfast!!
The sea view was AMAZING. The staff is very friendly. Cleaning service is EXCELLENT. Delicious food at restaurant, and the portions are quite reasonable
Inclusive breakfast menu had some limitations, which is not fair as this was not mentioned in descriptions. Lack of wifi in communal areas such as restaurant or swimming pool side
We stayed one week with our 3 and 6 year old boys and we absolutely LOVED everything about this place. Easy to find, the room is huge and clean, the beach is just in front. Snorkeling is heavenly. The pool is clean. Honestly,I don't understand how someone can give a bad review to this place. Staff is also wonderful. Food is great ( I do agree a bit pricey but gosh it's so good!). One of the rare places to chich we definitely will try to come back. You need a car to get around, but the hotel is amazingly well placed between Cancun and Tulum. So many activities around....loved it!
Hotel located on a cozy and very nice beach. A big plus is accommodation in rooms with access directly to the sea. Breakfast very good, served to the table
The restaurant in the hotel could be open longer. After returning from Playa del Carmen at 10 pm there was no possibility to drink even a beer. During breakfast a long wait for the meal to be served to the table.
Paamul hotel was just amazing! All the staff was super sweet with us. The room right in the front on the beach was just super. The housekeeping and the reception team was always with a smile and always ready to help us.
The restaurant was very nice. We ate a lot of times there and the food was perfect. Just took always too long the food coming out. So if you are in rush, be careful. Sometimes we waited 40 minutes for the food. Just be prepare to wait.
Beautiful beach. Room with balcony overlooking the ocean and beach. Food was great. Loved it here.
The food was excellent as well as the staff attention
I hate leaving a great review as I am afraid it may book up when I go to reserve again. We've been going to this small motel and this community for several years, It's one of our favorite places to just chill.
Their free breakfast is so good that I can't resist it and it knocks me off my diet.
The view from room was “million-dollar”. The room was clean; housekeepers were good. Restaurant food was good but a little pricey. They didn’t always tell us the daily specials so we missed out on a few. I suggest asking if they don’t want to share on menu. Plus there are good desserts which aren’t even mentioned or noted on menu. My biggest complaint which won’t prevent me from visiting again is the lack of communication from front staff. We were never informed of special events (market Thursday, live music nights when a restaurant reservation is advised, good walking areas etc). English seemed challenging for front staff, not for restaurant staff. Security was excellent.
The beach was amazing with a great pool option close by The staff were excellent -everyone of them -a shout out to Martine, Genrie, Valentin and others that went above and beyond The cleaning service was excellent. Comfortable mattresses and pillows We will be back next year!!
Secluded, safe, taxi on site in 10 min, beautiful cove, decent restaurant.
Get away from the hustle of Playa del Carmen and get a truly beach front room here. We were literally steps to the water. has a small beach but for snorkeling, the outer reef is well worth the 200 meter swim. Wear fins.
This place was amazing. We walked into our room and the first thing we noticed was the amazing view. Nothing beats being steps from the ocean. The area is very quiet and the restaurant was good but expensive. If you are staying for more than a few days you definitely need a car. We spent 4 nights there without a car and while taxis are available, they are expensive. Four nights was perfect for us. I want to send a huge thank you to Andrea from the check in office who went over and above to assist me when I lost my phone. There is no nightlife or activities here so if you are looking for a party place, this isn’t it. What you get is a nice, quiet and relaxing hotel with an amazing view and incredible staff. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.
Hotel is at a great snorkeling beach. Nice rooms with a restaurant and pool on site.
There was loud dance music every night until around midnight,
The beach, the sunrise, the view, the snorkeling
It was far away all restaurants or facilities. Sounds of building construction.
Always beautiful.
Sometimes the security can be a bit much checking in but always polite
Nice and quiet, top notch bar and restaurant!
Our stay was super nice, quite place, nice beach/pool for kids. breakfast was delicious. it is a perfect place if you are looking to a place to relax and tranquility (couples or family with kids). In the evening the restaurant sometimes organize a music event with bands (international or local music). i truly recommend Paamul Hotel
The reception is not 24h, most of the time there is nobody there... no phones in the room to call for support in case of needed. we didnt have any problem... but would be a nice to have. breakfast was delicious as I said, but options included in the package were limited, also only one plate per person. you cannot choose like fruits and eggs without pay extras. beach is in front of hotel. some trash on it (plastic bottles, disposables cups/cutlery/etc), staff could make a better clean of it.
Paamul hotel was just right. I travelled with 2 friends and we shared a beach front room with 2 double beds. Steps down to the sand. It’s a super chilled area, really friendly. The beach club restaurant does great food and cocktails. The room has a parking spot right outside, security to the area is 24/7. Not super upscale and I marked it down slightly as the safe didn’t work and we kept having to ask for extra cups and towels. If you want 5star luxury, go to one of the big brands. If you love chilling with a margarita and your toes in the sand, stay here Coffee and machine were provided. Coffee and water stocked up every day.
We love returning to Paamul Hotel. It is such a beautiful place: serene, with beautiful views and impeccable service. The rooms are super clean with all the necessary amenities and a very comfortable bed. Breakfasts are fantastic. We cannot wait to visit again. One thing would make it even more heavenly: a hammock or a lounge bed on the patio so two people can enjoy the view and the magic of stunning surroundings.
Hotel Paamul is a tranquil beachfront gem on the Caribbean coast of Mexico. We loved its cozy accommodations and the stunning views. The friendly staff and delicious local cuisine at the on-site restaurant enhance the experience. With nearby snorkeling spots and Mayan ruins to explore, it’s perfect for relaxation and adventure alike. We will have cherished memories and a desire to return to this peaceful paradise.
This place is gorgeous - the staff is so friendly and kind. Jade in the Dive Shop is wonderful and made our stay so much more special for our kids. There's a great running trail, the restaurant is fabulous - location is perfect for visiting cenotes and surrounding historical ruins. Snorkeling from the beach is awesome. We moved on to a different resort after Paamul for the all inclusive experience, but the beaches aren't as nice for snorkeling - and the free breakfast at Paamul is really good. Great for the price if you don't need all inclusive.
Location and service. Great place for family
A true paradise in Paamul! Far from the impersonal feel of large resorts, this boutique hotel offers a tranquil escape with charming cabanas, an excellent restaurant, and a breathtaking beach. Our room was right by the sea, offering the most stunning view I’ve ever had in a hotel. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with a jungle trail for exploration, makes it the perfect place to relax and recharge. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful experience we loved the location and how friendly and nice everyone is. Will definitely be back!
Volveremos.
Excellent location without the crowds. Super friendly staff and great facilities
I cannot believe we paid over $300 a night for what should cost under $100. The view from the hotel room was very nice, that’s it. Where to begin? We arrived and music was blasting from their restaurant. Ear plugs would not suffice. It was basically wedding music for boomers. Everything in the room was worn. The shower door is bolted shut, so in order to turn the shower on, expect a blast in the face from whatever temperature the dial is set to. You will dread taking showers. The nozzle is military grade and splashes everywhere, just not on your body. Fortunately, they’ve drilled a hole in the tile for excess water to escape. Speaking of escape, once you’re out of the shower, a Brillo pad for a towel awaits you. Once you’ve sanded off your memories of the shower, you might like to enjoy the ocean view from your deck! Well, they include two chairs made of wood, which might look nice for an Instagram photo, but will cause you to lose circulation within minutes. Realizing you’ve wasted money on this view, as you can’t actually stay in the room (and there’s no food or drink delivered to your room anyway), perhaps you’ll venture to the beach or pool. The cabanas are so crowded you’ll think you’re in a NY subway. Plus, music bleeds from the nearby restaurant, so you can forget about enjoying your audible book. The pool isn’t any better. When we described the uncomfortable deck stairs to the staff, they laughed saying “you should feel how uncomfortable the wood lounge chairs are.” Kid you not. Oh, and the oven was full of trash. And you’ll be stuck eating at their restaurant. We tried going to the nearby Hard Rock Cafe, turned away because we weren’t official guests. Maybe you think “no big deal, I didn’t want to leave anyway!” Us too. On our second night, the restaurant was out of fish, octopus and lobster. They had shrimp and chicken. Hope that’s what you were in the mood for. We booked 10 days at this “resort.” This place should be your last resort. We ended up booking airbnbs in Tulume and paying for our hotel twice.
Location
Far from grocery stores
Best snorkeling in this little bay and truly the best kept secret of the Riviera Maya. Beautiful healthy coral and lots of fish. The reef is around 100m from shore and very safe to swim here. Great food and amazing people, we are definitely coming back again.
nothing
The location is great. Really big room. Stunning view from the room. Almost direct access on the beach.
The bathroom is outdated. Needs more maintenance. You can see rust in different places. Really hard to use the shower. The water takes a lot of time to get hot. When it does, it's boiling hot and hard to adjust the temperature and pressure. The lightning in the bathroom is insufficient.
Nothing at all.
This place was not as advertised. The staff were rude. The rooms were basic and dilapidated - the curtains were rotting, the taps were rusty, the doors didn’t close properly and the beds and pillows were lumpy.
Beautiful Ocean view.. nice big room and good snorkling spot. Nice little privat beach
Construction works started early with lot of norse. We did not get good information about the stay. Limited breakfast options included and too many options as extra
Breakfast was really good. The menu has several options.
The restaurant and the pool are closed at 8pm. (To early)
The room was great, the facilities were great.
The waiters were a bit too much tip focused. Not puting any effort at paid breakfast, standing at the bar and wiatong for the end of the shift. The same guys were smiling in the evening and asking fo 22% tip
Beautiful quiet location without the big tourism buzz as in other gated areas. Peaple were extremely friendly, good place for snorkeling and spacious rooms. The breakfast was extraordinarily good and served next door in the beach club. There is also a pool and a dive school next door. Highly recommend!
Water pressure in the shower could have been stronger (1st floor) for long hair. But nothing other than that
