Great breakfast, perfect location, near all touristic attractions in walking distance and by Uber.

Hot water was only warm.

Perfecte locatie, in een gezellige, levendige straat met restaurantjes en winkeltjes. Maar in het hotel was het juist heerlijk rustig. Perfecte combi. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het zwembad op het dak was heerlijk om even af te koelen in het warme cartagena. Goed ontbijt ook.

Perfect setting in the heart of Getsemani but rooms are quiet. Air conditioning worked very well and breakfast was simple but filling. Staff is very warm and pleasant.

A quiet oasis in the middle of Getsemani. Our ground-floor room was large and surprisingly very quiet, given the central location. Beds were comfy, with high,-quality sheets. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good.

The shower was only luke warm. Staff needs to do a better job of keeping the walls of the upper-deck jacuzzi clean - there were many bird droppings throughout our 4-day stay.

Wonderful location in Getsemani, in the midst of all the action but didn't feel that way once inside the door of the hotel. Staff that go the extra mile to ensure the stay os enjoyable. Pleasant rooftop amenities with views in all directions.

la limpieza de la habitación, fundas sucias con manchas de labial y percudidas y las toallas de cuerpo estaban supersucias, con manchas de maquillaje, la ducha tenia un problema y el agua fria no abria bien

A localização é das melhores. No centro de Getsemani, tudo perto, muitos restaurantes bons e bem próximo da cidade muralhada. Da para fazer tudo a pé. O hotel é bem confortável, silencioso, funcionários super atenciosos.

O hotel possui um jardim de inverno, muito bonito quando está sol, pegamos um dia de chuva aí o hall do café da manhã molha tudo. Nada demais mas daria para fazer um controle de não cair chuva no hall.

Il pavimento della camera era sporco, lo abbiamo detto alla reception e l’indomani non è stato pulito a dovere. La colazione era molto basica. Camera con finestra su un muro, quindi non c’era luce naturale.

The interior of the hotel from the moment we walked in is truly spectacular. Very well located. We were on the third floor room 302. A large room with a huge shower room and a large bathroom. The lighting was incredible. Adjusting shower temperature a little challenging, but you’ll figure it out. Secure. Service excellent. It is indeed a small boutique hotel. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemaní. The location is perfect, right in the center of Getsemaní and close to everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. My room was on the ground floor and was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet — definitely quieter than staying inside the Walled City. I loved the rain shower, and breakfast was good. The rooftop area was a nice place to relax. I would definitely stay here again

A great location and comfy bed. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely, the breakfast team were super friendly and there was a good choice and more than enough food. The day time reception team were very friendly and welcoming.

Appreciate it was over NY which may have impacted this to a degree but there were several disappointing elements to our stay - to evening reception team member was not particularly welcoming or friendly - so things felt unwelcoming first off.. (such a contrast to the day time) - the place next door was playing loud music constantly like until 6am. And the door to the rooms are out in the open with nothing to shield you from the noise. Might have been further impacted by New Year. The room could do with a large thick blackout curtain as a minimum to help with noise but also light. - the pool wasn't cleaned very regularly and there were often a flock of very large birds resting by the side and swimming in the pool. Not sure how you stop that, but they left feathers etc in there. Didn't feel very clean.

Sehr schönes und kleines Hotel im Zentrum. Alles zu Fuss schnell erreichbar. Der Zimmer war echt gross und Sauber. Die Terrasse mit Aussicht auf die Stadt war Top. Ganz grosses Dank an die netten Angestellte an der Rezeption. Vor allem Larry, ein richtig netter und freundlicher Mann.

I loved that the hotel was located inside an authentic colonial-era home. I enjoyed the free breakfast and rooftop pools to cool down in the afternoons. The bed was comfortable, although my room was a bit too snug even for one person. The front door of the hotel must be opened by a staff member at all times, which is something to keep in mind. The hotel also does not allow guests.

The staff was incredibly helpful, the place was clean, and the walk was convenient! Loved it!

The room we got wasn’t that huge but no biggie at all cuz we could hangout by the pool and enjoy the fresh breeze! I also love the rooftop where they serve breakfast. I love how the structure is built! Overall it was nice! We had a great time and it wasn’t that expensive as well! Staffs are really nice and approachable.

This place is amazing! The staff was so sweet and catered to everything we requested. The hotel smells really good and is very clean. It is close by to all the sights and great food options. The rooftop pool is nice too. I highly recommend staying here!

This hotel was a great choice for our first visit to Cartagena, Colombia. It's perfectly located in the heart of the Getsemani neighborhood, with tons of restaurants, shops, and nightlife within a short walking distance. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the food was good. Checking in and out was smooth. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool and jacuzzi on the rooftop. Basically it looks like the pictures on their website. I would highly recommend this hotel and I'll be returning for my next trip to Colombia.

Room was ridiculously small and without any ventilation. The small pool was invaded by turkey vultures so that was unappetizing. The hot tub was not really hot.

My recent 5-night stay at Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani in Cartagena was absolutely wonderful! The hotel itself is lovely, but what truly stood out was the incredible staff. Juan Carlos, in particular, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. And let's not forget the breakfast – it was simply delicious and such a great way to start each day. It was within short distance to all the main attractions, super close to everything. I highly recommend Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani for anyone visiting Cartagena!

A great stay thanks to the kind and attentive staff who made us feel truly welcome. I’m glad I chose this hotel for a week-long trip and would definitely recommend it. Pros: Strong A/C, accurate photos, central location, generous breakfast, great water pressure and hot water, comfy bed, and a peaceful, uncrowded vibe with only about 8 rooms. Cons: Some worn towels, a small pool with no shade, and occasional street noise (minimal in our room).

Excellent location. Staff are very helpful especially Keylen & Viviana. They also gave a couple of recommendations. Bed was comfy enough. Balcony view was also awesome. Thank you so much! I would definitely stay here again when I return. :)

The staff here was wonderful and the hotel and the room was wonderful. Probably one of the best places I’ve stayed at in Cartagena. Convent to plenty of places to eat and drink. Highly recommend this hotel and plan on booking it again as I travel here often

Perfect location for nightlife and fun! Very helpful staff with comfortable and clean rooms. The rooftop has a small plunge pool and a hot tub that is wonderful to relax in after a long day exploring the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this wonderful hotel!

What a wonderful gem of a hotel! The service was fantastic. Our room was clean and cozy. Love the outdoor space and pool/jacuzzi. There is some noise at night (from Havana down the street) so I recommend ear plugs for sleeping in this neighborhood in general. Nothing terrible, just an fyi. We will be recommending this hotel to friends and family! And we will be back :)

Decent hotel but there are much better options for the money. We stayed in room 102 and it felt like a cave, absolutely no natural sunlight. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very nice. The pool is non existent. We stayed on the beach in a 5 star hotel for less money.

Great room, great location. A nice place to stay to explore Getsemaní. You will be near to everything you want to see: the plazas, murals, different restaurants and bars. Breakfast is included: I had coffee and juice, fruit, and then eggs one day and pancakes the next.

Super staff! All of them - the receptionists, the cook, the cleaners, and the other helpers. They were helpful and efficient handling numerous of our requests, and always cheerful. The hotel is close to the centre of the action in Getsemani. I booked one of the smaller rooms. The room was just the right size for us. Tips: 1) the English of the staff was from excellent to quite good, but occasionally, knowing at least basic Spanish or using a translator app or phrasebook can help. 2) If a mini fridge is important to you, check if the room you want has one. We didn't need one, and our room didn't have one.

Only one quibble: it had one night table, I asked for a second (which I insist there was room for), but they said it wasn't possible. (The only time we didn't get what we asked for.)

I liked that it was in the heart of Getsemaní , as a solo traveler , that was a plus for me . Location was convenient . Most restaurants and bars I wanted to visit were in very close proximity to the property. 24 hours front desk was a plus . The workers made my stay a good one. They were helpful, considerate and friendly /sociable . I actually enjoyed breakfast every morning even tho it was the same options . Everything was delicious .

The rooftop bar was closed every night. There were nights I just wanted to be at the pool but no one was ever upstairs . I made a reservation on bookings in advance , however I found a cheaper cost at the same property days before getting there , that changed was not noticed and I was charged the cost of the first reservation . I didn’t like that , these details need to be updated and checked for a smooth check in process . Hector was patient and kind and I appreciated that . My sheets were not clean , however they were changed after I made it known. New towels and rags , are needed and I suggest a kettle with tea products in the room seeing the rooftop bar is closed at nights . vanity lights added to the bathroom mirror would be a nice touch to this small boutique hotel .

Overall a great stay in an Excellent Location! The room was large, beautiful and comfortable. Loved the shower, the bathrobes, slippers, and Terrace. Only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast, as it was very basic and bare minimum. Wifi was great as well.

It’s in a good location, but there was no hot water, they charged me extra when bringing a guest in for even a short time which they could not explicitly show me in their policy despite no such policy being advertised online or at any point during booking.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and beds are comfortable. The staffs are very respectful. Breakfast is good. The place is centrally located and walking distance to everything. My only problem is their generator malfunctioned during the power outages on our last day. We don’t have water and power for a while so we have to go to another hotel to use their facility. Monthly generator maintenance should be done to avoid this inconvenience in the future.

Location was in city center which is what we expected. It felt safe.

We had accidentally booked 2 double rooms for only 2 people and we were traveling with a party of 4. When checking in, they made us pay an extra fee for these 2 extra people which ended up doubling the price of the stay. We didn't speak Spanish so we couldn't negotiate with them and they were quite rude to us. As soon as we paid, the staff became much nicer and spoke way better English. Our rooms were extremely small, had no nightstands and no lamps next to the bed (contrary to what is shown in the pictures on the website). We did not have hot water in our shower. We wanted to go into the small pool around 6:30 when it was dark (pool hours are until 8pm), and we asked them to turn the pool lights on. The staff was unable to get the lights working, even after calling 3-4 co-workers. We stayed there for 3 more days and asked again, and still they were unable to turn the lights on. The jacuzzi was also cold and not clean. If you say you offer these amenities, please actually offer them. I would have rather paid more for these amenities that actually worked. Now I just feel ripped off.

Would not recommend this property. Booked this hotel for 1 night stay because it was very late and I wanted somewhere to stay so I can figure out the remainder of my trip. I arrived and it wasn’t until I spoke with the man (who didn’t even want to come to the door and assist me) only to find out that the booking was for tomorrow. I asked if there was anyway it can be applied for tonight’s stay instead & if they could accommodate me, and he said no. That evening I contacted Expedia for a refund and they said they would reach out to the hotel to get it situated. I also wrote the hotel on Expedia to which they told me no. Please be aware that this hotel is also in an area that looks VERY SKETCHY at night. I didn’t even want to stay outside to figure out another available hotel, I ended up going back to the airport because of how scary the outside of the hotel looked. There were people just watching me standing outside looking which made me feel like a target. Would not recommend this hotel at all.
