Pequeno almoço fantástico, muita variedade, muita disponibilidade da parte do staff. O terraço e varanda ótimos sempre preocupados se está tudo bem . Limpeza fantástica, com um miminho no quarto de um bolinho com chá . Vamos repetir...
Gostamos de tudo
A Hospitalidade é de outro mundo. Dos melhores sítios que já ficámos
The service and customer care were exceptional. If you are looking for a property with a Portuguese feel, look no further. 5 stars.
Tutto fantastico. Idalia, la proprietaria è fantastica! Ospitale, attenta ai dettagli e pulitissima. La colazione la migliore che ho avuto fino ad ora. Torneremo sicuramente!

Amazing hosts were there to welcome us and made our stay just perfect! The location was perfect and loved the balcony and eating our breakfast outside in the morning.
Everything Clean Spacious Staff could not do enough for us Breakfast was amazing Service second to none
Didn’t take card payments so cost me 15% more by having to withdraw cash at a terrible rate from the ATM
Super freundliche Gastgeberin.
Also erst Koffer abstellen, dann Auto parken.
Tudo.
Excellent emplacement.

This was by far the best overnight experience we've had. We were greeted by our host with a quick tour of her property. There were all sorts of complimentary drinks, and an absolutely delicious chocolate and carrot cake waiting in our room. After hiking all day on the Fisherman's Trail, this truly hit the spot, along with a few Super Bocks of course! In the morning, our host cooked us an amazing breakfast, and even brought us extra for us to take on the trail for later. I couldn't recommend this place more if you are visiting!
We stayed in this magical and very beautiful B&B for our wedding anniversary. The room was lovely and we got amazing home made cake every day with a big flask of hot water. The breakfast was just outstanding, we have never seen so much fruit and food anywhere. We were treated like family and the staff were adorable. Our very special lady of the house Idalia was such a warm and welcoming woman. I felt as if I had gained another grandmother and she had a wonderful soul. Thank you all for making our trip a wonderful memory. xxxxx
Sentirme como un invitado en una casade familia local
Me gustó todo.
If you want to experience the welcoming hospitality of staying with your favorite grandparents, this is the place. Such wonderful, caring hosts make your stay much more enjoyable - I truly appreciated them! You get way too much food for breakfast, lots of snacks, plenty of local knowledge and assistance - all this within walking distance to anything in the town. A terrific option, especially for anyone doing the Rota Vicentina. Everything was very comfortable - bed, space, ability to control temperature, water temperature, etc. You have access to a guest kitchen and extra seating areas. I'm very glad I stayed here and would do so again. You will need to pay for your stay in cash, but there are a number of ATMs in town.
Staying here is like staying with family - you feel welcome and well looked after. My room was spotlessly clean, there was chocolate cake and a flask of hot water to make tea in my room, and loads of welcoming communal areas (living rooms, balcony space, and also a kitchen we could use for tea/coffee as well as complimentary beer and wine in the fridge!). Breakfast was next level! Fruit platters, granola & yoghurt, bacon & eggs, toast, jams, good coffee… all beautifully presented. Then we were offered to pack a picnic lunch from the table, including another slice of cake! Idalia is warm and welcoming and ready to help in any way (as the ferry wasn’t running yet, so she offered to drive the hiking guests to the other side of the Mira). All in all, a wonderful stay!
Great location
Tohle ubytování se musí zažit, vřelé a velkorysé. Tolik péče navíc . Děkujeme. Budeme vzpomínat♥️.

When I read the reviews of this place before booking, I thought they might have been a bit exaggerated. Instead, I must admit that I had one of the best hospitality experiences ever. Mrs. Idalia welcomed us warmly, provided everything we could need in the room, and even surprised us with a welcome treat (tea and a delicious chocolate cake). The house is beautiful, spacious, with two terraces and complete privacy. Mrs. Idalia lives downstairs, while the guest rooms are upstairs (with a separate entrance available until a certain time). Breakfast is simply outstanding – generous, varied, and freshly prepared every morning, with fruit, eggs and bacon, toast, jams, yogurt, cereals, and more. The room was spotless, and they even provided disposable slippers. This guest house offers services that, in my opinion, are on par with a 5-star hotel. I honestly couldn’t find a single flaw, and I will definitely return!
There’s absolutely nothing to complain about
El trato familiar y nivel de servicio de todo el personal ha sido superior Es una casa espectacular y comodísima para pasar unos días relajado y disfrutando de la playa y el pueblo. El desayuno es superior.
Extraordinary in all aspects.
I would rate it 11/10 if it was possible. The location is pefect. The host lady is very kind and generous and staff is very polite. A scrumptious breakfast was served at a beautiful terrace, pieces of a delicious chocolate cake were offered as a welcome and goodbye treats.
One step inside and you feel so welcome!
Picture a visit to stay with your favorite aunt in her traditional family home where she will spoil you for your entire visit - such was our visit with Idália! The location in V.N. de Milfontes is pretty perfect, right in the center of the original town, very close to the river Mira and the fortress/castle, but away from the main drag. We made use of the guest kitchen and living room upstairs on a few cool evenings to play cards and sip some excellent Alentejo red wine. Gorgeous wild beaches to explore each day along with sections of the Fisherman‘s Trail. A perfect place to experience Portugal!
The parking is tricky, as expected. We were able to park on the narrow street right in front of the guest house, but did depart with a new scratch down one door. There is a public lot nearby that might be a better choice.
This accommodation was booked for us though our tour company for walking the Rota Vicentina. The hospitality was second to none. Greeted by fresh orange juice and chocolate cake. Complimentary drinks- beer, wine etc and shared terrace area. Everywhere was very clean, although a little old fashioned and cluttered for my personal taste. However the hosts were lovely and couldn’t do enough to help. The breakfast was amazing with containers provided to take away a packed lunch which kept us going all through each days walk. Glad that we stayed 2 nights. Also very well situated for bars and restaurants in the old part of town.
Host is one of the best I've met, very generous and attentive to her guests! She welcomed us as if we were in our own home and was super flexible. She let us stay in the living room after checkout to do home office, came in to check on us and see if we needed anything. Breakfast was incredible, very complete and tasty 😋 and there are even drinks and snacks available. The house is in the old city centre, close to the beach. You can walk along the coast with the most magnificent views 😍
A bit noisy but apart from that nothing to say.
If there was one trip I would recommend for everyone from our stay in Portugal, this would be IT. It has such a nice 'feels-like-home' vibe and hospitality is through the roof. Our only regret is that we did not not stay longer.
Incredible attention to detail in every aspect from greeting to restaurant bookings and breakfast on the gorgeous patio! Too many extras to mention. This hotel Is not like any other, the owner gives her personal touch 100 percent and has not missed a thing! Absolute beautiful experience!
Nothing
Wonderful host and staff, warm welcome with fresh squeezed orange juice and chocolate cake. Lovely atmosphere.
There was nothing I didn't like.
Idalia was a wonderful, kind host. Breakfasts on the sunny terrace were delicious, the homemade chocolate cake was so good & the bed was incredibly comfortable. So many lovely touches. A magical place for a holiday!
Nothing!
The warm welcome The comfortable bed The delicious breakfast
Nothing
This a fantastic small family run hotel. We liked the warm welcome and the friendliness of the owner Dona Idalia and her staff. Everything was clean and tidy and we felt right at home. The breakfast was delicious and overall we had a great time.
Nothing, really
Very nice family B&B. Perfect location. In the center of the old town. A short walk from the marvolous Vila Nova de Milfontes beach, the Mira river, and the local restaurants. The room was cozy and clean, although not new nor renovated. Nice terrace, where you can sit and enjoy with free included drink. Very good breakfast. Great wellcoming and helpfull owner and staff.
You won’t find a more charming guesthouse to stay than this. The owner is delightful and guests so well catered for by her. The top floor is for guests with a communal living room and kitchen with lots of goodies (free). It is well located in Villa Nova do Milfontes on the Rota Vincentina. The breakfast is amazing and beautifully arranged!
We so enjoyed our stay here! Idalia makes you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive (with fresh squeezed juice and her famous chocolate cake!) It was as if you were staying in your own family's home. Rooms were clean, patios were lovely and breakfast and staff was great. Staying here makes you feel like you are staying in a family home. We loved it!
This is truly an exceptional property. We were greeted with fresh orange juice and chocolate cake. The room was comfortable, perfectly clean and had everything we needed. Our bikes were secure in the courtyard and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was truly amazing and our host provided us with foil to take some of the left overs with us for lunch. This is a family run B&B and the most lovely experience.
One of the nicest hospitality I ever encountered! Perfect location to follow the fishermen's trail.
Driving down the narrow cobblestone village streets of Vila Nova de Milfontes, you can easily miss the door to the Casa do Adro guest house. But on a recent road trip and with a reservation for a two-night stay, my husband thought he saw the sign and stopped the car at the door that we hoped was the right place. It was late afternoon when I hopped out of the car and rang the doorbell. A well-dressed and stylish older woman with a shawl over her shoulders answered. I wasn’t sure she knew any English and my Portuguese can only take me so far, but we were in luck! Guest house owner Idália spoke English, and before I could ask if we were in the right place, she smiled and said, “Welcome. Yes, this is the guest house.” Owner Idália Costa José and her husband António Costa José live at Casa do Adro. As we walked into the main area of the home, Idália explained that it has been in her family since it was built in the 17th century and after the village church was built, her family home was the next to be constructed for a total of only six homes that were in the village at the time. A retired banking executive, Idália and her family lived in Lisbon but would escape to the family home in the village whenever possible. When she retired, Idália and her husband left Lisbon to pursue their dream of living full time in Vila Nova de Milfontes and opening part of their home to guests. They have been welcoming guests from all over the world for over twenty-five years. When you enter the tile floored entry foyer, you feel as if you’ve arrived in your grandma’s home! There are family photos from many generations in frames on every wall, beautiful antique furniture, dried flower arrangements, gorgeous pieces of porcelain bowls, vases, plates, knick knacks, and lace doilies and table runners. This guest house is truly a family home. It’s also a well-maintained home! A visitor would never guess that it is as old as it is. This family has lovingly maintained and updated their property including a large kitchen, insulated windows, modern plumbing, and heat and air conditioning, without compromising any of its 17th century Portuguese village charm! Guest rooms. There are two guest rooms on the first floor, although we didn’t see them during our stay. There are four guestrooms on the second floor, accessible only by a staircase. Idália escorted us upstairs. As we ascended the stairs, directly in front of us, paned glass double doors led to a rooftop patio for guests, complete with tables, chairs, and umbrellas. To the left, there was a guest dining and living room (known as a lounge) with a working fireplace, books, games, and an antique server with a variety of complimentary apéritifs for guests. To the right, there was a small guest kitchen with refrigerator, complete with complimentary fruit, beer and wine, a coffee maker with a choice of coffees, teas, dishes, cups, utensils, bottled water, and microwave. Down a hallway there were four rooms, with each room named for a different flower. Our room, named the Girassol (sunflower), was at the end of the hallway. Upon entering our light-filled room, I was immediately impressed with its spaciousness and cleanliness. The room consisted of a double bed (king size), top quality linens and window treatments, polished wood floors, side tables and lamps, a comfortable chair, a desk, a television, and a large closet as well as a modern private bathroom. Everything was tastefully decorated and colorful. Our room had a small balcony that overlooked the village street and a second patio shared by the other three guest rooms, with tables and chairs. On the desk in our room, Idália pointed to an insulated water bottle filled with hot water for tea as well as teacups. Also, there was a carafe of water with two glasses. On a tray there was a plate with two slices of chocolate cake. Apparently, Idália is famous for making a most decadent chocolate cake. Our mouths began to water! After dinner in a local tasca recommended by Idália, we returned to our room and enjoyed the cake! It was the most delicious chocolate cake we have ever tasted - moist, dense and not too sweet. We retired to the comfortable bed and as I drifted off to sleep, I could feel the energy of the little village, its history and its ancestors and I felt a stronger connection to Portugal. The room rate includes breakfast, and it is served in the first-floor dining room or in your own room if you prefer. We elected to have breakfast downstairs in the dining room. Ana, one of Idália’s three assistants, served us starting with a fresh pot of coffee, a pot of warmed milk for the coffee, a carafe of freshly squeezed orange juice, an array of fresh fruits artfully arranged, a plate of the most delicious buttered toast, a plate of untoasted bread slices, butter, jam and honey, a plate of cured meats and cheeses, and prepared-to-order scrambled eggs and bacon. It seemed as if we hardly made a dent in the food but there was nothing to worry about! Ana came into the dining room with a little take-away box and a roll of aluminum foil and said in (sort of) English, “picnic.” And indeed, we enjoyed a delicious lunch later in the day on the rooftop patio from the leftovers of breakfast. Idália is a smart businesswoman and she doesn’t skimp on what’s important to the comfort of her guests. The bed linens are top quality and the beds are comfortable. The rooms, bathrooms, and common areas are exceptionally clean. There are thoughtful touches such as lavender body gel, slippers if you need them, a full length mirror, a rack to put your luggage on. Breakfast isn’t a buffet – it’s made especially for each guest. If she thinks you’re chilly sitting in the upstairs lounge in the evenings, she’ll bring up blankets made in Portugal to keep you warm. She’s knowledgeable about the area and offers to make dinner reservations for you if you’d like or make suggestions as to how to spend your day. The morning that we were leaving, we paid the bill (cash only – no credit/debit cards) and were presented with a handled bag with the guest house name imprinted on it, a full-color printed brochure, two complimentary bottles of water, and of course, two slices of chocolate cake (good marketing!). Award winning. Idália and António’s charming 17th century guest house has won numerous awards including awards from Trip Advisor and Booking.com. They are proud of their Portuguese heritage and of their family home, and work hard to make sure guests have a memorable, local village experience. Many of their guests are repeat customers who have become like family. A good portion of guests come from all over the world and stay at Casa do Adro to enjoy hiking or cycling the Rota Vincentina. As Idália said to me when we first arrived, “While you’re here, this is your home.” And then of course, there’s always (chocolate) cake! If you visit: Reservations in advance are recommended. Rates vary according to season. To reserve, you can fill out a form on the website with your request, or reserve on Booking.com. Payment is by cash only (Euros). No credit or debit cards accepted. ATM’s available in the newer section of town. All rooms have private, modern bathrooms. Also, air conditioning, central heat, and Wi-Fi. See the guest house website for more pictures. Parking is on-street. Idália will direct you to the best spot to park. Casa do Adro is in the historic village center and it’s easy to walk to the beaches, shops, cafes, and restaurants.
You feel at home at Casa Do Adro. The place is so cozy and super friendly. Dona Idália is the best host.
Breakfast was awesome. Location was great.
Breakfast was excellent. Plentiful.
Nothing. Everything was fine.
It was like arriving home to a loving family member who missed you. Greeting us with homemade chocolate cake, tea, water, wine, fridge full of fresh fruit. Breakfast was healthy and excellent and enough to make a picnic lunch for the next leg of our hike. Very thoughtful and greatly appreciated
Nothing except that we didn’t stay longer and we could not transport it with us
Warm welcome, very good breakfast, nicely decorated and very well located house. Thank you for the chocolate cake!
We were welcomed with fresh squeezed orange juice and chocolate cake from the most delightful host after a long day of bike riding. We were close to the beach and an array of restaurants, which was perfect for our tired biking legs.
Everything!!! I’m not kidding, everything was amazing. The owner is so nice and make the stay the best.
Rooms are very comfortable, they wait for you with orange juice and cake. The house is beautiful and breakfast 5 stars!
Everything!!! Awesome stay!
The best hospitality in Portugal by far.
Dona Idelia welcomed us into our home as if we were family, with her chocolate cake and fresh orange juice, a welcome treat after a long day of hiking the Fisherman's Trail. The room was lovely and clean, and we enjoyed going out on our balcony to look over the town. It is in a perfect location in the historic center of Milfontes, which made it a great home base. We were served breakfast on one of the beautiful patios in multiple courses, and she even brought us materials to package up a lunch to bring with us on our hike (and 2 pieces of chocolate cake to go!). We felt so at home, and wish we could have stayed longer.
Nothing!
This guest house could not be nicer in any possible way! The hospitality is concierge level and everything is included (beer, wine, fruit, etc.). The breakfast was incredible. This is THE place to stay if you are walking the Fisherman's Trail!!!
Everything surpassed our expectations. The best booking since a very long time!
We stayed in this 3* guest house and had a lovely experience. The owner is a warm woman who speech good english. She and family live in the home. She welcomed us with fresh squeezed orange juice. Breakfast had more than we could eat and we were encouraged to make a lunch out of the remainder. The house is clean and has lots of pictures of the family. It is in a great location to walk around. The room had a thermos of hot water for tea plus two pieces of great chocolate cake. It was a wonderful stop on our bike trip.
very friendly
The hospitality was wonderful. The breakfast was lovely and very tasty. Idalia and Antonio are very welcoming hosts who made much effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
Nothing I can think of although rooms can be a bit chilly in Europe in the winter months. The heater was turned up and we were comfortable.
Casa do Adro is run by an amazingly friendly and hospitable couple. They welcomed us on our hike on the Rota Vicentina. The rooms are exceptionally clean and cozy. There is also a living room that can be used to relax, work or play cardgames. The breakfast the next morning was truly extraordinary. It is worth mentioning the special buttery toast - just amazing. We have seldomly tasted such a savory fresh orange juice… We definitely recommend staying at this place!!
Very welcoming. Clean. Fresh fruit and beverages included in the stay.
this is more than a hotel - very friendly owner and personnel, a lot of extras included in the price, fresh fruits for breakfast served outside - amazing atmosphere!
there is no possibility to find a drawback of this place
I loved everything! The sympathy of the owners and the staff, they welcomed us with such warmth, I def recommend everyone to stay here. The breakfast, the little lunches (the chocolate cake is amazing!!) and tea they prepared for us, everything was amazing.
The location is superb, right in the middle of the city center. However, if you're coming with your own vehicle, you might have to park a bit far from the house.
A very quaint BnB, simple rooms that have what you need. The host is so lovely, and she provides amazing breakfast and snacks. It's perfectly located and a great stay overall.
It just couldn’t be better! nice cosy home away from home
This is as good as it gets! Idalia is an amazing host! These 6 rooms are gems and the location in this lovely old town area is perfect! Breakfasts are so good with fresh fruit, eggs & bacon, toast, jelly, ham and cheese. And you can pack up your extra fruit, ham, cheese, bread for your picnic lunch ( Casa do Adro provides wrappings). There is port wine, red & white wine, and aperitifs available for self-service. And cold beer and fruit in the fridge. Dinner recommendations were suggested and reservations made for us. Rota Vicentina hiking advice was provided. The room was lovely, clean, comfortable, and each day a thermos of hot water for tea and several teas were in our room PLUS 2 pieces of the most yummy chocolate cake. I have never stayed at a B&B that went so over the top to make us feel special and help us in any way possible as did Idalia and her husband Antonio and their lovely staff!
Idália is an ideal host! She demonstrates hospitality at its best - sincere, thoughtful, and comprehensive! All the little touches, such as homemade chocolate cake, bountiful breakfasts (with extra food to make a picnic lunch), fresh fruit and drinks all day, planning and reservation assistance, quality linens, immaculately clean, etc. all contribute to making Casa do Adro the best option! Idália’s genuine hospitality comes from her heart. Her sincerity and generosity radiates to her guests in a perfect balance of caring and space. The location is perfect - within walking distance to everything in town and local trekking. It was a perfect holiday and we will definitely return!
