Ubicación y trato excepcional.

Wonderful location in a narrow gorge with just the road, river, and, squashed against the rock face, the hotel. So close to the rock that you could touch it from some of the windows! Clean, comfortable and welcoming. For dinner we had an excellent, set priced menu, three courses and a glass of wine. It was all delicious and exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was also good. There is nowhere else, nearby, to eat, so it is fortunate that the food at the hotel is good. Staff were always busy. The front of the hotel was constantly being swept to keep it clean and welcoming.

We only stayed for two nights and we loved it but it is quite remote and approached by a longish (but very dramatic scenically) road. Might be quite a tedious journey every day for a week.

Nos alojamos en septiembre y la verdad que tuvimos una experiencia muy buena. La habitación tenía una temperatura perfecta y había mantas en el armario por si las necesitábamos. A simple vista estaba limpia y la cama era cómoda. Además, no escuchamos ningún ruido durante la noche, aunque también es verdad que llegamos después de cenar, desayunamos a primera hora y nos fuimos. El check-in y el check-out se hacen desde la cafetería. Cuando llegamos tuvimos que esperar un poquito porque el chico estaba atendiendo, pero es totalmente comprensible y no fue mucho. Además, fue muy majo con nosotras. La ubicación es genial si vas a hacer rutas, ya que desde allí mismo puedes hacer la Ruta del Cares y la subida a Bulnes, tanto a pie como en funicular. También se agradece muchísimo poder terminar la ruta y tener la habitación allí mismo, sin tener que coger el coche después. Hay varios parkings en el pueblo y el propio hostal tiene uno justo delante. Nosotras pudimos aparcar sin problema, aunque supongo que dependerá de la temporada. El desayuno viene incluido y la verdad que está bastante bien. Nos pusieron zumo de naranja, café, pan tostado con mantequilla y mermelada de fresa y melocotón, jamón york, queso, bizcocho y corbata. El café sin más, pero el resto estaba bueno. Los baños son compartidos, pero son individuales y hay varios a lo largo del pasillo, algo que nos sorprendió para bien. Además, tienen gel. Las habitaciones cuentan también con su propio lavabo para lavarse las manos y toallas, lo que resulta bastante cómodo. En general, creemos que tiene una buena relación calidad-precio y es una opción muy cómoda si vas a hacer rutas por la zona. Nosotras estuvimos muy a gusto y repetiríamos.

Location is perfect for hiking and driving around. Beautiful surroundings. The room is clean and comfortable, though simple, but this is a hostel. The breakfast - standard continental. The best were the toasts.. you can have a dinner in their restaraunt. That was helpful.

No one except one guy knows even a few words in English. They do not take money for dinner or other purchases., but instead add it to your room. When we were leaving we wanted to pay the bill, but the girl at reception said we owe nothing. Afterwards we made an attempt to pay by phone with a card, but transaction was declined by credit card. Make sure you pay before leaving.

Bit of noise early in morning with some guests leaving very early and not being thoughtful of others. Breakfast was fine. In the evening it would have been great to have lots of vegetable options with the meat and chip options.

Einfaches Hostal, perfekter Ausgangspunkt für die Wanderung durch die Cares Schlucht. Für wenig Geld kann man sich ein Lunchpaket kaufen. Unbedingt das Abendessen mit buchen!

Tolle Privatzimmer, nahe zu allen Wanderwegen in Poncebos. Essen war sehr reichhaltig und lecker! Abendessen für 19€ mit drei Gängen inkl. Gertränk war genial!

Parkplätze sind erst abends zugänglich. Sehr hellhörige Räumlichkeiten. Wenn im Gang jemand spricht, hören es alle. Knallende Türen und Schlösser. Geschlafen wird besser mit Ohrstöpseln.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had some special requests that were accommodated. The location is ideal for going to Bulnes and hiking the Ruta de Cares, since the hotel has parking.

The building has thin walls so you can hear others quite easily, and it would be hard to sleep in past 8am when most visitors get up for breakfast (included with the room price!) The thin walls weren’t a problem for us since it seems everyone visits to enjoy nature and is respectfully quiet in the evening.

Great location, possible to get to from Bilbao/ Santander but just needs some planning with buses. Amazing view, great staff and great food. Would love to come back for a longer stay but perfect for one night before carrying on hiking!

Camera pulita. Check-in fatto in tarda serata. Ottima posizione per raggiungere la Funicolare di Bulnes e la Ruta del Cares. Bagno in comune abbastanza pulito.

Colazione servita con prodotti confezionati. Non abbiamo potuto aprire la finestra perché fuori era pieno di insetti tipo moschine che sarebbero sicuramente entrati, di conseguenza la stanza era un po calda e umida, senza ne condizionatore ne ventole.

It had everything we needed, simple but clean, efficient and friendly. The breakfast was good, and the set meal for dinner was great vale for money.

We would like a family room which had 4 beds so we don’t have to book 2 twins

Location was great, the staff was really nice and allowed us to park earlier than check in so we could do some trails. The beds were very comfortable.

Breakfast was bread with ham and cheese butter and jam as well as packed sweets. Would have liked for it to have some more local produce.

Las camas eran muy cómodas, el desayuno nos encantó y se agradece muchísimo la plaza de parking para poder aparcar sin problema a la hora de hacer la ruta.

En la habitación de dos camas individuales (planta 3) el armario tenía las puertas atrancadas. Algunas toallas tenían manchas amarillas. La persiana no cierra completamente. (Nada de esto me impidió disfrutar la experiencia, solo lo pongo a modo de aviso)

Lo que más me gustó fue la ubicación para hacer la ruta del Cares, y así dejar el coche aparcado cerca para la vuelta, pero nada más.

Estaba bastante sucio, porque había polvo por todos lados. Tampoco tenían muchas opciones de comida, pues solo era menú con mucha cantidad de comida, nada para poder picar e ir ligero a la cama. Obviamente tampoco es que haya muchas opciones cercanas para cenar o comer, lo que dificultaba bastante esta tarea.

Top locatie midden in Picos de Europa, dichtbij verschillende de start van hike routes en de bus naar Sotres. We sliepen er voor we een meerdaagse huttentocht startten en we konden onze grote koffers bij het hostal opslaan.

Niets, privé wc en badkamer zou natuurlijk fijn zijn maar het is nu eenmaal een hostel. Gedeelde badkamer was schoon.

The hotel is a beautiful valley, with several paths to hike directly around and in short distance. It's directly next to the river, with a small "beach". Rooms are ok although a bit small. The restaurant also has a nice view on the river. Private parking which is appreciated since there's almost no possibility on the road.

The area is much more densily visited than the pictures suggest, the road is always rather crowdy (but in the rooms it's quiet, you don't hear it) The breakfast is rather poor.

Walked the Ruta Cares one day and spent the other day in Bulnes and visited the Cheese Caves in Arenas de Cabreles. Ramiro and his team were very friendly and patient with my broken Spanish!

L'emplacement. L'hotel est très beau, tel un navire sur la rivière Cares (Belles photos la nuit). Le prix est raisonnable. Le personnel est sympathique et je les remercie aussi en plus car j'avais fait une erreur lors de la réservation et tout s'est arrangé. Le ménage de la chambre est super. Mais ce n'était pas la peine de changer les serviettes. Le lit fait, les poussières retirées, c'est très bien, on se sent bien, en vacances. Il y a 5 salles de bain-WC (Aseo) pour 10 chambres. Ainsi, je n'ai jamais croisé personne. Une salle de bains est avec baignoire et fenêtre (ma préférée, aseo 5). Le menu du soir est à 19 euros, ce qui est raisonnable. J'ai beaucoup apprécié les "huevos con champiñonnes". Le vin est bon et c'est copieux.

Il y a un peu de bruit de la route (c'est une vallée encaissée), le soir et le matin, aussi prévoir masque pour les yeux et bouchon d'oreille si fenêtre ouverte cause chaleur. La wifi n'est pas top, j'ai utilisé mon téléphone. La cuisine est un peu simple. Pas de sauce dans la salade. Je n'ai pas tout testé mais cela m'a semblé simple. J'aurais souhaité manger plus "espagnol".

De locatie is fantastisch. Het hotel ligt aan een rivier, tussen hoge bergwanden. Je bent midden in de bergen. Vanaf het hotel kun je direct de Picos de Europa in wanden. Ondanks dat het hotel redelijk geisoleerd ligt is het goed te bereiken. Aan de andere kant is het rustig en intiem. Na het wandelen is het fijn om op het terras nog wat te drinken omringd door de bergen en het geluid van de rivier. Een perfect locatie als je komt voor natuur en er opuit te trekken. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Het hotel deed wat gedateerd aan, hoewel dat ook wel zijn charme had. Overigens gold dat voor de hele streek. Bedden zouden iets comfortabeler kunnen en er leken geen tweepersoonsbedden te zijn, allen twee enkele naast elkaar.

Als Ausgangspunkt für die Wanderungen nach Bulnes und Caín ideal gelegen, Frückstück inbegriffen, ansonsten Menü oder à la carte Essen möglich. Preis-Leistung im EZ prima, wenn man mit kleinem, zweckmäßigen Zimmer auskommt. Gut geschlafen bei offener Balkontür.

The hostal Poncebos is in a fantastic location, we walked both the Ruta del Cares and up to Bulnes from the door. There wasn't a great variety of food but it was good basic fare for a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly, highly recommend.

Le rapport qualité prix est imbatable. Chambres propres et matelas comfortables. Vue inatendue sur les falaises et la riviere emeraude. Repas copieu et bon à notre arrivée tardive. Tout ce dont on avait besoin + parking pratique pour le teleferique à 5min à pied.

Hostal Poncebos is super gunstig gelegen vrijwel bij de start van de Ruta de Cares en de funicular naar Bulnes. Uiteraard ook dichtbij start andere wandelingen Picos de Europa. Kraak helder water voor de deur en ingesloten in indrukwekkende kloof. Kamers eenvoudig maar schoon. Voldoende toiletten en douches op de gang. Je kunt er ook eten. Leuke sfeer tussen allerlei nationaliteiten. Parkeren perfect voor de deur terwijl dit in de omgeving wel een dingetje is.

El personal, en particular el dueño del hostal que trabaja en el bar. El internet no funcionaba en la habitación así que bajé al primer piso y el dueño del hostal para hacerme salir me gritó, me amenazó con sacarme a la fuerza de ahí e incluso casi se pone físico. Me repetía que no era su problema que el internet no sirviera. Del miedo tuve que empezar a grabar un video. Creo que un buen hostal y una buena ubicación no vale la pena si pasamos la noche con miedo de que este señor nos hiciera daño.
