The room was just what we wanted. Breakfast was very good but the coffee could have been a little stronger. My coffee from the bar was excellent

We didn't like the nespresso coffee nor having only longlife milk which is most unpleasant in tea as well. See above for breakfast coffee.

Lovely room but the tv needs raising as it it is very difficult to pull out without removing everything off unit and makes plugging in kettle difficult The restaurant evening meal choice for vegetarians is really poor, hence only eat there one night

The breakfast could have been better. There was rather a limited choice of food (cold). My husband had the cooked breakfast one morning, and the (no doubt locally sourced!) sausages were very unpleasant. The slices of bread were too large for the toaster, and the white bread left a nasty aftertaste. We didn't eat dinner there. Menu too fancy for us!

The location of the Pheasant Hotel was excellent, in a quiet and beautiful part of the countryside. Our "chalet", an old Shepherd;s hut was well designed internally and provided a good base for our short break.

we booked the property after reading that WiFi was available but were disappointed because it was NOT available in Keepers chalet. This may sound minor but WiFi is extreme;y important to enable one of us to get to sleep properly. Consequently, the sleep for one of us was not as easy or comfortable as it should have been and this affected our break. This was reported to reception after the first night and the receptionist explained that there was some discrepancy because the booking was made through Booking.com and that the hotel's procedure had recently changed and that the hotel now informs customers booking "Keepers" that there is no WiFi. Unfortunately for me, this procedure was not in operation when I booked and therefore I did not know that WiFi was not available for me. Had I known that WiFi was not available then I would NOT have made the booking. WiFi for all customers was advertised but was not delivered. The receptionist said that she would speak to the manager but we received no response at all from the manager. The receptionist did offer several options to us and one was to swap to the other chalet but on inspection this was not as well decorated or as light as the newer chalet. The other option was to move to a different hotel and to change rooms for each of the 3 remaining days. We received no response from the manager and consequently feel very disappointed.

Decent breakfast

No room service, no milk for in-room beverages, electric sockets not working, hot water in shower erratic. Staff expressed concern but no motivation to address or fix issues.

It was beautifully decorated, had the feel of a grand country Manor House. Everywhere you looked there were lovely decor touches, it had clearly been well thought out, it also felt warm and welcoming, it was an unexpected pleasure.

Our only criticism was that our bed was not particularly comfortable, it had a ridge where the 2 base parts were joined horizontally which dug into my thighs when lying on my sides. I completely understand that given the room is part of an old building and the entrance to the room was restricted, it limits the style of bed it could have. However, maybe a deep topper could solve this issue. The shutters in the room although beautiful and atmospheric allowed a lot of light in at dawn, dark curtains or black out blinds under the shutters would have improved the quality of our sleep. The room was otherwise lovely with a sumptuous feel and well equipped with a decent hair dryer (Dyson) mirrors, including a super make up mirror! Coffee machine, fridge and tea making facilities. Bathroom was gorgeous and lovely toiletries.

Restaurant service was slow and quality of food was poor for the level of cost. So off the pace that we cancelled our dinner reservation after two days and started eating out. Breakfast was also sub standard with the buffet bar being limited and when items ran out they were no replacements. Our room had been renovated at some point and finishing was poor, poor quality tiling in bathroom and loose unit tops amongst other items. The reading lights didn’t work . Drawer space was very lacking. The seats in the bedroom had lost their upholstery and were uncomfortable.

The hotel is in a beautiful location! Ideal for a relaxing weekend away. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in had a magnificent bathroom with luxurious bath and a super walk in shower.

Such friendly staff, they were very helpful, courteous and polite. The meals were amazing, dinner was sumptuous, and the choice at breakfast catered for every palate. The room was so spacious, I almost got lost, haha. Although there were many guests staying at the weekend, the hotel never seemed overcrowded because of the lounge, bar area and outdoor seating. A real gem on the north Norfolk coast. Next time, I shall bring the dogs!

The only thing that would have made it better was if my late wife could have been with me, I know she would have loved it.

Our room up on the second floor was very hot and stuffy with very small windows for the size of the room. That said the weather was exceptionally hot and staff immediately sourced a second fan for us and it was brought to our room straight away.

A superb hotel that catered for the comfort and friendliness that we like. The food was delicious and we liked the conservatory and dining room for our meals. Our room was nice and spacious and we were pleased to have a walk in shower on request.

The stairs were a bit difficult for me but next time we will choose a room downstairs. Everything else was fine.

A good choice of breakfast, quickly served and hot. Booked into dinner for the two nights although we did not intend to. Menu was good (Cumberland sausage superb!) but it could be extended. Bedroom a reasonable size but bed was huge. Everything very well kept. Plenty of space to relax in the lounges and bar. Quiet location and close to the coast. Left my jewellery by mistake and within an hour, staff had telephoned and e-mailed to let me know and to inform me they would be putting in the post - such honesty in this day and age, also shows the quality of staff employed.

Staff chatter between themselves a little personal and loud at breakfast but there was none the second day, maybe something was said.

Our room Cley was over looking air conditioning unit by kitchen which maybe should have been pointed out at booking as I am recovering from Cancer and needed rest earlier in evenjng when still noisy

We were pleased to find that there was a sofa in the room (couldn't see one in the photos) and that there was a good sized drawer in the bathroom. The bath was lovely too and the room comfortable overall. Easy access, by walking across the road from the hotel, directly into the woods and onto the shingle beach, was a great delight.

While all meals were of a good portion size, some dishes seemed to be over priced for what they were. We also appreciated that the dining room, bar and lounge areas had been refreshed and updated compared to the photos, but, regrettably, we are not fans of the long bench seating in the dining room. We much prefer individual tables and chairs, and thankfully the restaurant was able to accommodate us.

Everything really was perfect. Personally I wish we had thought to ask for ground floor, as stairs were tiring but there were only a few. And that was more to do with me and the extreme temperatures outside than any thing else Staff helped with luggage if required. The Hotel was difficult to find ! Think we had to turn round on most trips out as went wrong way round country lanes . Haha .

Scrumptious meals. Lovely staff, friendly and delightful. Charming manager, who interacts with guests very well and also can be seen helping/supporting staff where necessary. Public rooms have comfortable sofas and chairs in which one can relax. Orangery is splendid.

Very good location and very clean hotel. The staff was very nice, restaurant had an amazing fresh food. Hotel is very close to the biggest poppy field I’ve ever seen which was a great surprise for us. Kindly recommend for a quiet stay in Norfolk.

The wait staff in the bar and restaurant were friendly but a little over the top, especially in sharing frustration if things went wrong back of house. The bathroom didn't have bar soap. Our room was on the top floor, up 2 flights of stairs, OK but gave us quite a workout.

The entire experience was first class.

The hotel is beautiful from outside But the room was in need of some TLC. Very poor bedding like I have seen better quality pillows and duvet in a basic B&B. They seemed short staffed as there was no one at the reception to greet us till 5 minutes later. Food and drink was good. Me and husband spent a night in there for our wedding anniversary This was mentioned when I completed the booking. However there was not a single mention of that during the whole stay. I have stayed in so many hotels in Europe over so many different occasions and we always have been acknowledged while celebrating. A total disappointment Not more than a 2 star ✨️ I'm afraid

Hotel was exceptional. A lot of care had been taken to design the interior and it was tastefully done. The hotel was spotless. Public rooms were comfortable, light and created a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Food was of a good standard.

Hard to find any fault. Breakfast service could be run a little better but as we were not in a hurry this wasn’t an issue.

The hotel is beautiful very clean and comfortable the receptionists and the restaurants staff on an evening we're very good and friendly. The only let down was the breakfast stuff who were very abrupt made us feel uncomfortable particularly the lady that's slightly older that checked us in for breakfast not very nice.

Cobwebs on the shepherds hut we spent one night of a four night stay. Area outside the Shepherds Hut was tired, needed weeding, better furniture,and the outside of the hut could have done with cleaning off all the spideds webs.

It's a beautiful hotel, set in a lovely quiet location. The staff are all really friendly and the breakfast and dinner was delicious.

It's personal preference but the bed we had was far too soft and the room was very hot.
